Elena's lunchwagon is usually parked towards the end of Kalaeloa Blvd., in Cambell Industrial Park, during lunch time on weekdays. On a recent lunch visit I tried the Pork Adobo Fried Rice Omelette, Sari Sari and Mongo Beans.I've eaten the Pork Adobo Frice Rice Omelette and Sari Sari, from their restaurant in Waipahu, many times before. This was the first time I sampled them from the lunchwagon. Both dishes were as good as I remembered. The highlight of the dishes was the Mongo (aka Mung) Beans. It reminded me of a filipino style pork and beans, having the consistency of a thick pea soup. I think the pork made the dish, combined with the mongo beans it was delicious. This is definitively a dish that I would order again.Overall 3.5 stars.

I had Elena's for the first time at the Eat the Street event. I was on a mission: to try Elena's pork adobo omelet. With all of the craziness of the event, this truck had one of the shortest lines and at first I thought it was because the food wasn't as good as their competitors...boy was I wrong! The line was so short because Elena's used their noggin before coming to the event! They had laminated menus with pictures and prices of all their offerings which they passed down the line, so by the time you got to the front you were ready to order and (in theory) had your money ready. To quote one of the girls standing behind me, "To wait two hours for a grilled cheese sandwich is bleepin' nuts! But guisantes, maybe!" Luckily the wait was only 10 minutes and I scampered back to my friends with the glorious omelet and an order of lumpia ($10). All of the food was extremely hot and fresh and the omelet was amazing! It was giant (I could only eat half) and the adobo was very flavorful and not fatty at all. The only thing I would change about it is a thinner omelet. The lumpia was good too, but it wasn't anything special, just plain lumpia. For me, this was the best thing about the Eat the Street event!!

Get there early to get fried pork and Lechon kawali runs out fast! I'd say about 11-12 is the rush period. Parked on the side

For Authentic Filipino food on the run, you just can't beat the convenience and quality of the Elena's lunch truck. The big clue to it's good food is the line of people. My favorite dish is the pork adobo/mungo beans plate. Simple, affordable, and very good food, not to mention friendly service with a smile. Definitely give this lunch truck a visit !

The lechon kawali and adobo fried rice. Can't go wrong with that. The only thing is you'll need about a gallon of ice water for the rest of the day from all the vinegar and salt. And don't forget to ask for the pickled ong choy on the side. For me I can't give it a higher rating because I used to eat at the old Dalisay and Mabuhai in town. Now that was killah Filipino food.
