I like the idea of a person figuring out exactly what they want to do and then having the chance to make their dream a reality. I love the fact that this food truck is open for under three hours every weekend and consistently delivers the results of one man's dream. I'd heard about this crazy food truck. That people line up an hour ahead of time to insure that they be one of the lucky eighty people who get to eat a chicken sandwich that day. That the weather does not matter, and that no one minds the lack of nearby tables. That the drive to the Kahuku Sugar Mill trucks is absolutely worthwhile just for this sandwich. With all of this in mind I picked a rainy Sunday during football season to make the forty minute drive, figuring it was my best chance. Sure enough, the line had already started to form when I arrived just before the window opened for the day. The line itself is neatly corralled in a space between Hilton's Art trailer and the also excellent Get'Cha Roll On gourmet eggroll stand. It is directly across the road from the truck, and creates a cheerful murmur of conversation among those waiting. My suggestion is to order a flavored lemonade from the Eggroll stand while you wait, as they sell out early as well. Your choices are minimal. You can have your sandwich mild, spicy, or half dipped in the spicy sauce. You can choose blue cheese or "Dat Sauce" to accompany your sandwich, and you can choose a bottle of water or a can of lilikoi drink. You can also order more than one sandwich, but he makes ten at a time, so he will call people forward in batches Your sandwich will arrive in a waxed cardboard box buried under a massive amount of delicious French fries and the sauce will be tucked in the corner along with a portion of ketchup. That's it.The sandwich is big, juicy, and truly worth the quest. I ate half of my fries on the way to my car and then sat and enjoyed the massive sandwich. I asked for it to be half dipped, and enjoyed both experiences, but will order it mild next time. The spicy sauce made the batter just a bit too wet and masked the excellent blend of spices used. Good luck on being one of the lucky ones when you go!

Been wanting to try this location for quite some time. While going around the island, we decided to stop here since it said that they were open on this day. They already had a line for so we stood in that line, which wasn't that long of a wait. One man soldier running the wagon. Sometimes that's just how we do it! Sandwich was hefty and full of flavor. Everything sauce was everything and more. Wish there was more but just let my husband have t he other half without the sauce .They make 80 chicken sandwiches. Get on it ASAP!

Worth making the timing work, although it's tricky. Make sure you look for the line--the current batch will be in front of the window, then the later batches will be queued-for across the dirt road, on the other side. If the timing works out perfectly you'll wait maybe 20 minutes because he prepares a batch of dishes together, maybe 10 or so at a time. The chicken cutlets are huge and nicely fried. The fries are also very tasty. It's a little tough to eat because there's a massive chicken sammich under a giant pile of fries, so you have to eat through the fries to get to the sammich.I got the Spicy with bleu cheese. It wasn't prohibitively spicy, but good. I barely got to use the sauce, but it was tasty when I did. The plate comes with a water or a juice.

A small and hidden food truck amongst the larger sea of food trucks in Kahuku. Don't let the size or location put you off. The most flavorful and massive fried chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. A lot of food for the money. As a large person I struggled to finish all of it but was able to if really hungry. Otherwise, could be shared or have leftovers. Fries always fresh and crispy. Sandwich very crunchy. Very nice owner. He works in batches, as he makes the sandwiches. You wait in the line and he groups you, as he cooks, and then you pickup and pay as it is ready from the same line.

Holy smokes! I didn't think a fried chicken sandwich could be this good!! For the townies, it is worth the drive trust me! Why is it called Eighty Chicken Sandwiches? Because he only sells 80 chicken sandwiches each day. So plan ahead on your weekend, because you definitely want to get there when he opens (12pm to sellout). I devoured it quickly! that's how GOOD this sandwich was, fried chicken menu is simple and well-executed. Your Choice between regular or spicy chicken with a side of hand cut fries and a drink for $17. Da sauce or blue cheese on the side. Im a spicy girl, so I naturally chose that one! Crispy, juicy, delicious! Chef Adam is very friendly and nice. So appreciative of his customers too! You can tell he takes pride in his work and is passionate. Love his energy! Since the line gets long, I recommend bringing a hat/sunscreen/sunglasses especially when the sun is blazing hot. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend coming here. Don't sleep on this rec! Make sure to follow him on Instagram to get weekend updates.

Yes, it's always worth the wait! Love this truck. I get the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I'm a small girl & this is a big sandwich, so I eat half right away and save the rest for later. The best fries as well. The owner is always friendly and loves to chitchat. He's only here Saturday & Sundays till he sells out so go early. It's the cute gray truck with a long-line of people !!

Our second time coming here! The idea is so unique and fun you can't help but to feel honored to be one of the customers to get an "Eighty chicken sandwich". We got one regular and one spicy. The "That" sauce is great and mixes well with the seasoning on the chicken and adds a lot to the regular sandwich. The owner is so nice and very friendly! Recommend if you're in the area and looking for fun and local chicken options. (no photos this time because we were so hungry. We ate it so fast.)

I consider myself a chicken sandwich connoisseur.Eighty Chicken Sandwhiches had the best chicken on the island so far.His fries are top notch as well. You'll have a hard time finding anything better than these chicken sandwhiches in the state. The owner is awesome, welcoming and attentive.Small shack found way in the back behind all of the other kahuku food trucks, truly a diamond in the rough.

I was really expecting to get a good but basic chicken sandwich. Instead I got something that would rival a Michelin restaurant. Seriously.... Also, I'm not sure what fries he uses but they don't taste pre frozen. I can taste a real potato in every bite. .... Get the spicy sandwich
