There has been a lot of crimes in the area I work at, so my boss insisted we get some kind of personal safety training and called on non-other than Egan Inouye to the rescue!Egan and his team showed up at my job for a small workout, and provided some easy safety techniques that could possibly get us out of a hostage situation. He did a few moves on his assistants, and after we did the same on our partner until we were comfortable with the moves. Egan and his team walked around the room to check on us and to provide assistance. He showed us 4 moves to help us escape from an intruder that won't hurt yourself or the criminal, the purpose is to breakaway and get away. These techniques worked only if you do the moves correctly, so it involves practice, I actually escaped an Egan Inouye choke hold! (yay me!).Of course we couldn't spend the whole day training, so it was brief but very useful. He provided useful common sense information that we don't think about, some of which were; to be aware of your surroundings, especially if you are on your cellular to be mindful of what is happening around you. Women should be aware of how you are holding your handbags, that could be a reason to become a target. And when getting into or out of your car, not to leave the door opened while just sitting and not being aware that a criminal could possibly approach you at your car. After the training, we were all super pumped, Egan and his team did an outstanding job with the small amount of time they had with us. Egan is very concerned for the safety of others, and eager to share these very informative techniques that could save your life.

Ok here's the thing. I started going here right after Thanksgiving and managed to stay motivated through the new year - due in large part to my awesome coach Mel and the lovely ladies of the 530 AM class! That's right - 530 AM! Believe it or not, it is NOT the earliest class - that honor goes to the 445 AM boot camp - but it's a great way to start off your day. Egan's is all about contributing to your success. There are supplements, protein snacks and drinks, and a bit of gear for sale. Parking is right on the premises at $1/hour. And there is ALWAYS parking! Everyone who works the desk greets you every time you walk in, and my coach requires a once-weekly weigh in. If you aren't trending toward your goal, she (or he) reaches out to you to talk about your variables and how you can change your trajectory. Several times a year there are also challenges to mix things up a bit. These guys are as invested as you are! Coaches are always available to you. And a weigh in isn't just a weigh in - it's a really cool overall body analysis that shows you how much water is in your system (and consequently, how much more you could have), how much of your weight is fat and how much is muscle. I know! Cool - AND it holds you accountable. The gym has an app that allows you to manage your payments and reserve a spot for classes. Membership is unlimited all access - you can go to any location at any time and take any class, multiple times a day. Yeah, people go multiple times a day! Classes are fun, but they are HIIT classes, so you do to until exhaustion. But like all fun and challenging things, you can't wait to do it again. Classes also seem to switch the instructors up as well as the workouts, so don't be concerned that you'll get bored because you won't! Even more awesome, during this COVID-19 time the gym has closed but instructors are offering any number of online classes via FB Live and Zoom so you can keep on keeping on! And they are just committed and motivating online as they were in person. I always thought I could just work out on my own and be fine. I liked doing that too. But classes appear to be something I really respond to. I like the accountability and the energy of having others participating with you. I honest to God thought I was going to pass out at my first workout. I quickly realized I was horribly dehydrated and underestimated the effects of a pre-workout protein bar and it never happened again. Egan's help you develop a real body awareness and focus, and helps you renew your commitment to your own success. If you're wondering whether you can make it through a workout, well, you're just going to have to try it. And I highly recommend that you do. You may just surprise yourself!

Egan's Bootcamp is a clean, well organized gym for all levels of workout. The trainers will help you work on strength and endurance in a positive and supportive environment. The girls leading the Bootcamp are all extremely respectful and will work with you to build your confidence and encourage you to work hard for the best results. I am thankful they moved into my area on Punaho and Beretania Street, I have seen results in my daily life as a result of attending their classes twice a week. Employee: Kerstin is a true professional, she provides excellent customer service, administrative/management duties and is knowledgeable on every aspect of the business. I highly suggest speaking with her when coming in to sign up!!

Today was my 3rd day doing bootcamp. I'll have to admit, for 1/2 hour classes it's tough! I have to be prepared both mentally and physically! The first day was the toughest! I believe my body went into shock, so I got really nauseated and light headed. I was able to go off to the side and drink some water and catch my breath. Went back onto the mat to catch up and again I got nauseated so had to get off and go outside this time. I really wasn't prepared for this. I thought I could handle when watching what the class earlier did, but man was I wrong. The trainers tell you that although you will hurt afer the first class that the best thing to do is to come to the class the next day. So I did. This time I made sure that I was better hydrated, tried to alleviate some pain in my thighs and hamstring. I went to class and did the 1/2 hour and this time around I was fine. Better prepared both mentally and physically!I will continue to attend classes. They have different classes daily, so I'm going to try them all out. There is a 1 hour kickboxing class on Sunday, so that will also be something that I will checkout!

I should have known to quit before I started when my hula sister had to stop dancing hula because she hurt her back at Egan's Bootcamp, but I saw the pictures and was like "I can do this? Right?"I went one day and it hurt bad. I could barely walk to the car and could barely sit for almost a week. BUT, surprisingly this is not why I'm giving this place 1 star. It gets one star because of their customer service. So after that first week I let them charge me another two weeks because I really thought I was going back, but then I found a more supportive workout environment and I didn't want to go back understanding that the Bootcamp wasn't for me.They wouldn't let me quit and stop charging my card so I put a stop payment. Then they called me and threatened that if I don't pay they're going to send it to collections. My response, "if you have a good program with results you wouldn't be hurting people and trapping people into paying for a service they don't want or use."No wonder the have to constantly have Groupon promos and highly discount their prices- they can't keep clients if they're going to be bullies. If you're in great shape already and want someone to push you that much more this place will be perfect for you. If you're the average person who wants to find a sense of community- don't do it. It could hurt you in ways that you can't recover from. My hula sister still hasn't returned to hula and she's heart broken.

My gf and I signed up for the 6 week Groupon special at $75 per person. We are gym rats but wanted to give this a try. For 6 weeks, we went 6 days/ week for the 40 minute cardio classes. Although we didn't end up signing for the long term, we were very impressed with the program, instructors and facility. The daily program consists of 40 minute high intensity interval routines that will challenge the majority of people. Keep in mind, we were already in decent condition and the program really challenged us. They mix the routines up concentrating on upper and lower body on alternating days. They also alternate different instructors as each bring in their own routine. The instructors and staff are super friendly, knowledgable and helpful. They know when to push you and when to let you catch your breath. You can also sign up for a meal plan that's designed to complement your training. We didn't sign up for it because we work out to overeat . Parking can be challenging but we found the trick is to wait for the previous class to leave then parking usually opens up. Keep in mind that the instructor won't let you participate if you're late for class. Bring a towel and water. You will need them. Don't wear shoes because you will train barefooted on the mat. We didn't sign up for the long term because at the end of the day, we like our free weights. Also, we thought the fee was on the high side for what it is. This is a total personal preference because the regulars who go there really love it. We met a few people who dropped 20-30 pounds in 6 weeks. So the program definitely works. I adored my coaches! they were the absolute best! They understood totally had to handle the training of an 81-year-old female without causing any injury. I loved every single minute of the training and will continue going to the gym as long as I can.

Dropped in to 2 classes while visiting family in May '24. Good place to get hard work in. Staff and members were welcoming, coach did a great job. Will come here again every time I'm I town. Drop in rate seemed reasonable for the zip code and like a great deal based on quality of coaching staff and facility.
