Amazing ice cream and the gentleman that helped us was so friendly. We have been to hundreds of ice-cream shops around the world and by far this was my favorite. We had the chocolate peanut butter!

A Frustrating ExperienceI had high hopes for this place, but my visit turned out to be quite disappointing. They advertise being open, yet when I finally managed to locate them, I found the doors closed. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with the inconsistency in their hours. On top of that, finding the location itself was a challenge. The signage isn't clear, which makes it feel like a game of hide and seek. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time trying to track this place down. There are surely better options out there that are more reliable and easier to find!

And to finish off our Hawaii stint... ice cream! Double fat ice cream is an interesting concept. In theory it should be wonderful. But in practice all that fat solidifies with the cold and leaves you with a grainy taste. So maybe not for us...

This super cute kiosk is hidden in a parking lot behind Alohilani Resort! They have unique ice cream and sorbet flavors. I tried the pandan coconut sorbet as that was a Lunar New Year special and the almond cookie ice cream. I've never had pandan before so I didn't have any expectations but dang it was really enjoyable! The almond cookie tasted just like the actual cookie and it also reminded me of almond jello! My dad got their kona coffee and salted banana caramel - both were good! They offer half double (one flavor) and double (two or same flavors) sizes. There's toppings as well. I asked what they recommended and she suggested the condensed milk and bubu arare. I'm not a fan of condensed milk so I got the bubu arare and it added a nice crunchy texture. They also have a few chairs and tables to enjoy your ice cream.Open from Wednesday-Sunday 5-9pm :) I would love to go back and try different flavors!

During a recent staycation in Waikiki, I made it a point to check out Double Fat ice cream. Double Fat is located outside of the Alohilani hotel and features Chef Brandon Lee's locally made small batch ice cream.Double Fat offers Double and Half Double sizes of their ice creams and sorbets with a choice of toppings as well as two different sundae options. They are known for their unique ice cream flavors and I was dying to try their grasshopper pie. It had a strong mint flavor at first bite, but it completely meshes as you savor the ice cream. My son had the salted caramel banana and chocolate which he loved.Get your Double Fat ice cream fix daily from 5pm to 9pm. The cherry on top is that 'Alohilani will validate parking for two hours!

This is a tough lil location to find! Hidden on the side of a hotel, you'll see a couple food trucks and that's where it's at. Overall, the taste was off. We got birthday cake and mint chip. The birthday cake had no flavor, and the mint chip kinda tasted like toothpaste. It was also very expensive for how much ice cream you get.

First of all, not really easy to find. We really try to support local over big chain. Being from Maui we know how hard small businesses have it but the young lady working had the personality of a coma patient. Then she couldn't describe the flavor of the weird flavor they had and NO complimentary taste. Total let down. Unfortunately just go to Häagen-Dazs right nearby for better choices and service

Cute ice cream place with mind blowing my good ice cream. Location seems hard to find for a lot of people so the key is walk past the Häagen-Dazs cause we're not getting ice cream there. There should be signs for food trucks and you follow that sign up a little ramp. There's one guy there manning the station. Anyway, I've resolved myself to come here every night to try out as many of the flavors as I can. First night I knocked out two with the Waikiki sunrise sundae and omg.Super refreshing, no lie the fruit flavors were so fresh and punchy. The sundae consists of lilikoi and guava sorbet, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and pineapple, and finally toasted macadamia nuts. Perfection!I went back another night to try the honey furikake ice cream. It was okay at first, but it really grew on me. To me it doesn't really taste like furikake that I'm used to but it's more like honey ice cream with black sesame topping mixed in. I'm a fan of these together and ended up loving it!To me this is one of the best ice creams I've had, but it's on course subjective.

YUM. We love double fat. The ice cream is super creamy and the flavors are unique without being too unusual. You can tell the ingredients are very fresh (especially the fruit) which is why this ice cream stands out and proves the quality. The servers are always so friendly and happy which is my favorite at an ice cream shop. The location can be a bit tricky, but if you watch for the signs you'll find it no problem. Their hours are also really great (open a bit later) so I love to take a Waikiki walk and stop here for ice cream at the end (what's the point in walking if there's no incentive at the end, anyway?!). I am so bummed I don't have a photo to share but it just shows how I'm always too excited to eat my ice cream and forget to take a picture!
