Love the set up of the restaurant and how there is a balcony option. Getting into the restaurant was tricking since a reservation was made, but it was very "busy". The Manager (I assume) messed up the name for the reservation multiple times which was a bit frustrating. Our server was very kind and provided great service! with constant water refills which is always great! Now onto the food... The food well was a bit disappointing for the prices. (we thought that foodland would give a better value option). $22 for a roll is crazy for it to be so small! We also got the Jidori chicken stir fry which was also a bit pricey but extremely delicious and my whole family enjoyed it. Stir fry: 7/10hamachi garlic roll: 7/10steak and shrimp roll: 4/10 (parents are hard judges) sake bomb roll: 7/10 Overall: My server was great! (Give her a raise), The food is too pricey, the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing.

January 5, 2025, 7 pm reservation. We had a party of 8 including two teens and two elderly people. I was asked if we had children and I stated no we didn't have small kids that would need kids menus, but yes I did have children in our party. We were then offered a booth when I made the reservation, in person at 5 pm.7pm: We instead were seated at a 10 person high top table with low back stools. I asked the hostess (who made the initial reservation) if we could have the 8 person booth in the corner next to the table. She said no, that I'd have to wait an hour and that they saved those for smaller parties. I was never given an opportunity to explain about my elderly parents. Meanwhile someone in our party asked the waiter and he readily agreed to move us. I had then moved on to tell the manager, who was standing in front of me, that we weren't sure what to do and I explained the situation but was interrupted and never able to explain about my parents. He responded defensively and repeatedly through a condescending laugh stated he wouldn't want to squeeze 8 people into the booth. Finally, making a tight space gesture with his arms that indicated crowding in the booth. He didn't listen to my concern at all, he didn't care about my elderly parents, he didn't care that his hostess had reserved us a booth but was now telling me I'd need to wait an hour even though one was readily available, he didn't care that her answer to us was in direct conflict with what the waiter was telling us. He never bothered to ask what our concern was. He made assumptions and treated me as if I was being some sort of complainer and rushed me through the conversation. I had said twice already that we had teens that were smaller and could fit so we'd be fine in the booth but I was ignored. He approached the table and then laughed "knowingly" and said "oh you have children" as if I had lied. The ONLY reason we stayed and the ONLY reason for a two star rather than a one star is that the waiter was friendly and helpful. It was crowded loud and rushed. Not a good dining experience at all. We have previously dined at Doraku in Kapolei and it was a lovely experience. Doraku Waikiki should be skipped altogether.

I could give them zero stars if I could.I came there with two young kids 6 and 11 at 8pm. I didn't have reservations. They told me it will be too long wait and they can't seat me since they close at 9:30. I said fine I will do take out. They said it will take 20 mins and it ended up taking 50 mins. In the meantime I saw the restaurant empty. I said can you seat us since you seem to have empty tables. The waiter asked the manager and the manager said no since we had ordered takeout. They charged us $44 for two rolls (see photos). Are you kidding me?The veggie tempura sucked. Zero flavor. The $22 spicy tuna was so so. I have had much better.Don't believe the hype. Stay the F away!Note to the manager: stop pretending to your patrons that your restaurant is busier than it really is. It was clear that you had empty tables when you refused to even put me and kids on the wait list. Find a different profession if pleasing your customers is not your goal.

This is a great sushi place. I had the California snow crabs as my appetizer. I ordered the wafu steak and lobster with a family style steak fried rice . She cooked the rice at the table on a hot plate and it was delicious. My friends also had sushi, can't remember the name but I provided photos because it looks amazing and they said it tasted great!

DORAKU SUSHI was probably the biggest disappointment of the trip. I had high hopes for one of my previously favorite restaurants in Atlanta (randomly they opened a location there) that had shut down during COVID and never reopened. We missed the timing for happy hour that night but we were still willing to try their dinner menu. The smell was a little off-putting inside the restaurant. Not food but not quite sure if it was the smell of seafood or what. Even so, our server was super nice - he was attentive and available until the end when it became nearly impossible to flag him down when it got super busy. I was excited to see some fun items on the menu like the chirashi don, uni & ikura don and the grilled jumbo calamari. The steak fried rice also had a fun table-side presentation. The uni ended up to be a bit much for me. I love uni, but for some reason, this uni was a bit fishier than I'm used to and it was hard to eat just uni and ikura with rice. The chirashi don, however looked excellent. Definitely jealous I didn't order that one. Overall, we were pretty happy with the meal. It was a-ok. Food wasn't mind blowing but still satisfying. Solid 3.5 out of 5 experience. I may come back one day just to check out the happy hour.

Love this place. Always get the God of Fire roll, as it never disappoints! Haven't had anything bad here thus far and we have become regulars here. Great service. Love sitting outside on the patio but also cute inside as well.

Great option for a quick and delicious bite in Waikiki! Quality was decent and service was quick!! Probably wouldn't come here if I wasn't already in the area due to the immense amount of sushi options on the island, but for what it's worth the convenience of being in Royal Hawaiian shopping center is great!

Party of 4 for dinner on a Wednesday night. Overall, our experience was decent.Though we were seated immediately, service was just okay. It was our first time at the restaurant, so naturally we asked the waiter what he recommended. He wasn't friendly or hospitable at all. I felt like I was bothering him. Eek! We waited a while for our waiter to finally take our order, then it took longer than normal to get our order. Otherwise, the food was good - a bit pricey which is to be expected in Waikiki. But the Sashimi was fresh. Rack of Lamb was good too. Dining area was pleasant.Next time, I'll try the Garlic Ribeye Steak with a side of Hamachi Sashimi.
