We love coming here to bring snacks back home. We were able to get all kinds of goodies from local to Japan in one place, how cool is that!Prices are not bad either, you can expect to pay $2-$15 per snack depending what you are purchasing

This is nothing like the four stories in Japan but definitely I understand the store better now that I have been to Japan The fruit is fresh and the poke is good the non frozen one. I got the eel over rice and it was devious and worth the 8.99.Decent prices and a good place to grocery shop. See my photos,They have many sushi options too.

This Donki is very tame compared to the ones in Japan's touristy locations. It's an unfair comparison for sure. Though, I'm rating Hawaii's Donki a 4-stars because there's an actual Donki branded store with merch in America. The seafood deli section is quite good where you can select your seasoned seafood for a poke bowl. The Donki merch is great, with some Hawaii only exclusive shopping bags and more. Good place to pick up souvenirs and it's 24/7.

Without fail, we stop here to buy gallons of water, prepared foods, snacks and souvenirs galore. I could easily spend hours here because there is so much to take in. I love all the Japanese products available here. Today they had $16.99 for a small flat of 8 strawberries straight from Japan along with a $49.99 melon. I can see them going bad because not many folks will pay that IMO.This shop is open 24 hours a day which makes for a convenient stop when coming from the airport.Parking is in a lot in front and across the street. I like to park away because the lot can be a bit crazy during peak times.Enjoy!!

This review is actually for the Da Andagi Guy. I happened to be here on a Wednesday and they were here right in front of the entrance to Don Q. I think they're only here on Wednesdays. I was blown away by $5 a dozen. Really? I highly encourage them to charge more because their Andagi is made fresh, light, and delicious. I want them to be here every Wednesdays forever! Seriously though when my son comes home from east coast, he craves Made in Hawaii, Da Andagi Guy's Andagi. Thank you Andagi family for the delicious treat and all your hard work!

Food Heaven on earth! I wanted and needed to buy everything here! From the moment I walked in, I spotted sanrio items, then picked up pearl white strawberries from japan.....the ready to go food items.... Wow. I had a difficult time choosing what I wanted because I wanted everything all at once! I got some torched salmon nigiri, wagyu nigiri, and ahi poke. Had to buy ube mochi for dessert. I'm having don quijote withdrawals. Please come to california......

2024 Update. The 24 Hour variety store, they gave a little of everything. They are noted for their grocery section and their hot food selections. Lots of Japanese bentos, sushi packs and other assorted Japanese ready to eat foods. Their hot selections that are served by weight are popular options. The menu of selections vary by day and there is almost something for everyone to be interested in. Favorites include Pancit, baked spaghetti, chicken nishime, and for many tripe stew. With several outside food offerings at the front, Don Q. has a wide variety of products for every shopper. ,

Not the same as the ones in Japan but it's got everything I want from a Japanese grocery store. Their ready made dish packs are great!. Our favorite was the scallops: so soft and melt in your mouth.

While in Honolulu, we searched for a store that had everything that we needed all in one location. Initially we went to Walmart, but it seemed like a commercial location that we could go to anywhere within the United States. So, this wasn't quite what we were looking for. However, we searched for a store that had a bit more to offer. Up until we landed in Honolulu, I had never heard of Don Quijote. This little discovery ended up being one of my favorite places to visit. Don Quijote is located in a small strip mall. There is a small parking lot out front and a parking structure across the street. Parking was a bit of a challenge as the area is pretty busy. Conveniently, there is a phone out front that patrons can use to call a cab directly. I did see several people coming and going via taxi cab, so I'm guessing that people used that phone often.Anyway, before you step inside of Don Quijote, you'll notice tourists taking a photo with their mascot, Don Pen! That's the large penguin that's in front of the store wearing sunglasses on its head while holding onto a surfboard. Be careful as it isn't anchored down and tends to move a bit if you lean against it for a selfie. Don Quijote has so much under one roof! If you're a tourist, this is the perfect place to come purchase souvenirs. They also have a large section with medications for all ailments! I found this section to be quite handy as I was coming down with a cold. There's also a section in the center of the store that carries souvenirs with their mascots on them. They also have some Japanese-inspired bags with Shiba Inu and Akita dogs on them. The store itself has an incredible supply of Asian foods. I have never seen so much Ramen in my life! It was epic! A lot of the food that they carry is representative of the diverse Asian cultures on the island. They had a small baked goods section but the seafood section was quite large. We ended up buying a lot of our groceries from DQ as they had everything that we needed. This location is open 24 hours and seemed to be busy regardless of the time of day that we visited. They do have a self-checkout section as well as a cashier who can assist you with your purchase. Security does walk around and they can be helpful at times.Don Quijote is a pretty awesome store. It also seemed to be very popular amongst locals and tourist. Given the variety of items that one can find in the store, I can see why it was the go to location for people who needed to get things while on the go. This was by far one of my favorite places to frequent while in Honolulu because it seemed to have anything and everything that one could possibly need for the duration of their stay on the big island.
