Came here a week after they opened and it was still hectic with an abundance of shoppers everywhere. There were many shelves empty since there were people consistently dumping items in their cart. The store itself is huge and it was nice going through the aisles and seeing what this mega store had (left) to offer. There are many different food stations such as an unagi grilling station, a poke station and a mochi station. The unagi was not bad but a bit too sweet for my boyfriend and I's palate. The gentleman making it was really nice though and suggested we shop while we waited. Can't wait to come back here on a slower day to see what other items they have to offer here.

Located in Kapolei is the New Don Don it is huge with wider aisles and not as crowded as the other locations, but basically they carry the same items as the other locations, the only difference is they have more eating places and indoor dinning area. What is crazy they have a huge parking lot and 2 ways to enter? But they only allow you to enter in one entrance and exit out of the other so if you are parked by the only entrance and you have a hard time walking you have leave from the exit only door on the far Diamond head side to walk all the back to the Ewa side were you can only enter? Which makes a lot of cars blocking the road picking up the elderly and disabled. Why not have 2 entrance and Exits they both have 2 security guards at each entrance to check customers as they leave and that would help the flow of traffic and make it easier to access.Restroom are located at the entrance as you enter on the Ewa side of the building.

Imagine: You're trapped in a rainbow. It's definitely overstimulating and if you don't know what you went there for then you'll get lost. Prices are decent. It's just like Don Quijote but on steroids.

We just visited the Donki in Shinjuku a couple weeks ago. I had heard this new one in Kapolei was huge from Yelp bud JK and read Staci- lei's review.Huge one level shopping experience compared to crammed building on many floors like in Japan.Much better first experience for massive bright interior with cute mascot posters hanging all over the store plus even plushies and more.Pretty much a huge variety of snacks up the ying yang- mind boggling! We started row to row then gave up 3/4 of the way. Why?*Aisles are in a maze and you could miss something unless you knew exactly where it was located.*food court according to security guard as we were leaving said one opens at 10 and the other at 11 a.m. He said the lines are long. We came hours too early so only Cafe Kyra was open:+I really hoped to try their sushi and bento but.., sushi was in chilled section. Bentos were what looked like fish items or not too enticing to me.The poke section looked good but hubs said no. Nevertheless we added some items into our wagon that you could find at any market ie cabbage, Taegu, pink mochi with leaf, etc.And ... thankfully the musubi place was open so we bought 3 there. You pay then and there.I saw smiling faces with the 2 security guards, cashier, Cafe Kyra employee and musubi cashier.Other employees didn't crack a smile, kinda sad first thing in the morning. Oh well, it's Friday!!! Happy weekend everybodyHubs wants to come again later when the food options both in the store and the food court vendors are open.Cost wise I found some $1 snacks so bought 2 to try. I saw over $100+ stuffed Hello Kitty etc and $23 tote bags.Want to explore the new store? You'll be amazed. Suggestion: come after 9:30 am instead of 7:30 am like eager curious customers like us who also came to enter their Grand Opening trip giveaways.

I've got this song stuck in my head "Don Don Donki!" Who would have known there is also a dance that goes along with it! Hahah (seriously...IG search it!).Don Don Donki in Kapolei is huuuge! And if you are going to cook a nice hotpot at home then this is the place you want to shop! The meats, mushrooms, and vegetables are beautiful! Not necessarily the cheapest still... quality.I also love the selection of snacks. Today I picked up some roasted sweet chestnuts, tempura battered and fried nori seaweed, some konjac fruit juice filled gelees. I also grabbed some house made and smoked bbq ribs for a potluck. Had an entertaining time browsing all the unique snacks as well as the food stalls... most of them not yet opened. I like to go to DDD on the weekdays when it's not so crowded. The aisles can be maneuvered easier. One can get a LOT of healthy steps in! Enjoyed quality and fun time with some gal friends.Even ran into an old friend whom I haven't seen in years. Great to see you Michael! Apparently, it's the place to be right now!

My boyfriend, my daughter, her friend and I came here Saturday afternoon. Boy, was it crowded but plenty of space to maneuver around inside. There was so much to see from produce, snacks and Hello kitty stuff and makeup. I ended up just buying this Hello kitty key chain, a drink and a snack. Some items were pricey and some were affordable. Kinda evens out. Parking on the other hand was a nightmare lol People filled up parking spots on a Saturday afternoon. Mind you it was a Saturday afternoon. They open 24/7 which is nice. I should come here at night on a weekday lol Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been here yet.

I went to see the new store today.. the only thing I really liked were the wider aisles. I guess there really nothing I needed so I just went to look. There wasn't much in the sashimi section in terms of filets. Mostly cut fish but the fish cutter said there will be. The bakery is way in the corner by customer service. People there really nice. I don't like that the entrance and the it are totally separate and so far apart. You have to choose where you gonna park and in order to exit, you must go through a checkout area which could be a problem in an emergency. Think I'm really happy with my kaheka store

Waited in line for 45 minutes for their grand opening to check out the new Don Don Donki. Went straight to the food court to dine in the Waka Sakura sushi restaurant. Delicious sushi similar to Genkis. This was my 4th time coming here to get some essentials and foods! The grocery store is huge! With kitchen, stationary, gundam figures to the far left of the store to the fruits and veggies to the far back of the store. Offering strawberries from Japan(expensive but will try in the future). The beauty section with retinol and collagen face masks was wiped out day 1 but this time I made sure to buy a pack of it. The hot foods I got were the chicken, it tasted like sweet shoyu chicken. And the chicken long rice. $10.99 per lb. It was tasty and I was so full after eating it. Salmon nigiri was fresh and tasty! The poke bowl from the sushi section on the other hand tasted super fishy. The only downside is the exit is pretty far from the entrance. So I normally park by the entrance so it's easy to get to but then realized I have to walk far to get back to my car. The restrooms also only have 3 stalls so lines can build up. Self checkout needs some work.

Went on opening day and found the store to be a little disappointing but just by one star. They were not ready to be open to the public, food stalls were not completed. I was looking forward to eating at the chicken food place in the food court. There is a beautiful gift basket, floral center. There is alot of Sanrio and Japanese character aisles to buy things from. I got a new Hello Kitty tissue holder. Bought the don don donki little bag. Sections such as the trash bag section was really small. The dessert section that is huge in Pearl city, was small in Kapolei. Ample parking and Kapolei is becoming a big place for shoppers/spenders. I believe the Don Don Donki will improve and even has a Japanese restaurant inside too.

This store is huge, clean, beautiful and kinda overwhelming. Did I mention crowded? I went the first weekend because I happened to be in the area. Went again yesterday hoping for less crowd. Wasn't as bad but still pretty crowded but I was able to look around a lot more this time.I noticed quite a few things were at really good prices but I'm not sure if that was for their grand opening.I live close to another location so not sure if I'd drive all the way out here again.
