Our trip to The Plantation Grille at the Dole Plantation was really all about one thing, the legendary Dole Whip. And if you're a fan of pineapple or tropical flavors in general, you're in for a real treat. Imagine this: you're handed a swirl of bright, golden-yellow goodness, almost too beautiful to eat, but too tempting to resist. With the first spoonful, you're immediately transported to a place where pineapples taste sweeter, sunshine feels warmer, and tropical breezes are all around. The Dole Whip itself is the perfect blend of creamy and refreshing, with a texture somewhere between soft serve and sorbet. It's incredibly smooth, with a light, airy consistency that melts on your tongue, yet it's rich with the intense, natural flavor of pineapple. Each bite balances just the right amount of sweetness and tang, creating a flavor that's addictive but never overwhelming. It's the kind of treat that's ideal for a hot day, and honestly, it feels like a mini-vacation in a cup.Aside from the Grille, the Dole Plantation itself is essentially a big shop selling Dole-themed souvenirs, from pineapple candies and jams to merchandise of all kinds. But the Dole Whip? That's the true star of the show. It's a must-try for anyone visiting the plantation--even if you just swing by for the Whip, you'll leave satisfied. The Dole Whip is reason enough to make a stop here, and it's sure to be a highlight of any Hawaiian adventure.

We were full from breakfast, but not full enough for dessert! THE FOOD. - Dole Soft Serve | Ordered with chilled pineapple topping because you have to when you're at a pineapple plantation. It's a great combination of sweet and tangy. The line was long, but it moved fairly quickly. Plenty of counter tops inside, but you want to sit outside where the Hawaiian vibe can smack you in the face. COMING BACK? Yes, for more Dole soft serve!

I almost didn't want to go to the Dole Plantation Grille because the lines looked super long upon arrival, but luckily had died down after the lunch rush hour. Of course, my mission wasn't to go here to eat actual food, but to enjoy their specialty: the Dole Whip and pineapples. They also serve both American and Hawaiian food, with lots of pineapple on the side.Upon entering the building for the Dole Plantation Grille, you're met with more lines. However the lines branch out inside for efficiency - keep on eye on which line looks the shortest, and just go there, because it's pretty much a free for all. Also, try to keep tabs on who's going slow or fast (or who looks like a good worker), because we definitely got wrecked by picking the line with the slowest and meanest cashier in the world.Because there are better places to eat, we just had sliced pineapple (extremely good and downed within seconds) and the sipper cup float (Dole Whip with pineapple chunks drowned in pineapple juice). The souvenir cup is kind of cute, but exists as plastic that's taking up space in my cupboard. The pineapples taste so different from the ones back home, and are euphoric to a pineapple lover or even mild pineapple enjoyer. They just taste very ripe, the right amount of sweet, less shockingly tart and sour, and are so juicy for no reason. While I would normally score experiences like this lower, the star ratings are for the absolutely delicious fresh pineapples, and for the stray cats and animals that wander around the outside dining tables.Disclaimer, I went here in 2022 so anyone reading this now can enjoy the comparison between prices in 2022 versus prices now.

After a day of exploring the Dole Plantation on Thursday, September 7, 2023, we concluded our visit with snacks and treats at the Dole Plantation Grille.Located inside the main store building, we arrived around 5 PM, shortly before the Grille's closing time. Long lines were still queuing up at each station, but orders were taken very quickly, making for short waits to reach the counter to place your order. Placing our order was easy, but I did get a little annoyed by the lady who rang me up because of her lack of thoroughness or attention to detail that caused her to inadvertently omit one of our items and needing to ring us up twice to complete our order. The food was ready for pick-up fairly quickly.Dole Plantation Grille's menu is fairly extensive, offering a myriad of items from island favourites like Loco Moco and Kalua Pork to traditional fare such as Cheeseburger Combos and Fish & Chips. We came for their world-famous Dole Soft Serve. Below are the items that we ordered:Pineapple Chili Dog ($8.95) - Both DJ and I ordered these hot dogs topped with chili and pineapple. I do love me a good chili dog, but I wasn't sure if I was going to like the addition of the fruit. I'm so glad that I tried it - the pineapple added some sweetness to the savoury flavour, making for a very yummy and robust tasting snack. For those of you who are apprehensive of this - don't knock 'til you try it - you might end up pleasantly surprised!Waffle Cone ($8.50) - DJ loves pineapple, so he fully enjoyed the smooth tangy-sweet pineapple flavour of the soft serve.Dole Soft Serve Regular Cup ($7.50) - Wow, what a generous serving this cup was! In fact, the portion was too big for me to finish on my own. DJ had to finish what I couldn't eat due to being too full. Woohoo, kudos to Dole for this dairy-free, vegan, and gluten-free refreshing pineapple treat! The creamy, semi-thick texture could easily fool someone to think that the frozen treat is made with dairy. It was a perfect dessert that cooled me down after a sun-filled day.We initially sat at the counter area with stool seats at the back door to the store. The area was fairly clean and quite comfortable with the air conditioning. As the store was closing, we moved to the outdoor area where tables and chairs were for available for eating al fresco. No visit to the Dole Plantation is complete without stopping by the Dole Plantation Grille to at least try their Dole Soft Serve. It's a must!

Dole Plantation Grille is Dole Plantation's on-site eatery with a few food options and of course the legendary Dole Whip (which you can get on the mainland as well as many places throughout the island but when at Dole you must Whip. Ok I'll stop) Line moves pretty quickly and the quantity you get for the Regular cup with no toppings is actually super generous compared to other places around the island who sell much smaller cups for the same price. The pineapple chunks are steeply priced but you come to tourist destinations, you get tourist prices. FWIW, it was fresh, juicy, and so so ONO-LICIOUS! Lots of seating outdoors and some inside as well. Spot the cute cats running around the outdoor dining area!

Great counter service and friendly staff. Food came out within a reasonable time frame and was really good. I got the Loco Moco and my wife got the teriyaki chicken. The serving size of each plate was big enough for two people. We also got a Dole Whip while we walked around the plantation. Great taste and fun experience.

Time: Friday Lunch Meals:Pineapple Dole Whip and Pineapple Chili Dog w/friesPros: -Decent portions. Good sized hot dog. -Fast Service. -Not your typical tourist trap generic style food. Actually decent quality food. -Chili was good flavor. Think of Wendy's style chili, but better quality. -Good prices given it's a tourist trap. Was not an overcooked hot dog. -Crispy fries. Not soggy. Cons: -Chili dog was topped with pineapple chunks as opposed to cooked inside. Slight false advertising.
