One of Hawaii's favorite place to grab southern food and crab shack meals. Specializing in BBQ and Southern-style seafood, this place serves up some serious comfort food. It's a laid back spot that is enjoyed by locals and military alike. It is the go to spot on Oahu for that southern fix. But remember the ambiance is a laid back country feel, so do t expect 5 star seafood restaurant. Picture more of a true southern hang out spot with great cocktails and beer, that serves up classic southern favorites and crab. The service was nice but we went early and don't know how it is when it gets busy... pro tip is go during happy hour and enjoy a discount and less busy... this is a great after work stopping spot.Located right in Aiea. 99-016 Kamehameha Hwy, Aiea HI. 96701

The shrimp and grits were not good. I feel bad using the word disgusting, but that's how I felt. One bite and I was done. The shrimp was rubber, and the sauce was like sipping on a vinegar bottle. I told our server that it wasn't good and she asked if I wanted to order something else instead. So I did and it was okay....got charged for both items, which sucks, but it is what it is what it is. The service was somehow worse than the last time. Just seems like no one that works there wants to be there. Was really hoping this would be a great go to spot for bbq, but we will be looking elsewhere.

Came here for lunch with friends and ordered a salad, keeping it light since I had a big dinner later. While the salad tasted good, the portion was small for the price, and my friends even noticed that mine looked smaller than another friend's who ordered the same thing.A few of us were still waiting for our food long after others had finished. We politely asked another server about the delay since our original server was hard to find. She reassured us it was on its way, and it did arrive a few minutes later.Then, a different staff member came by to explain that our food was delayed because the orders were placed at different times. This was confusing since we ordered one after another, even if we were a large group. His explanation felt unnecessary, almost as if we had complained when we hadn't. We were polite and patient the entire time, even when my drink didn't arrive until after my food.

We had late lunch on Sunday and the restaurant was pretty empty. Ordered our usual Frickles (fried pickles) that come with a delicious dipping sauce. We usually get the bbq plates but today we tried their burgers I chose to build my own burger; cheese bacon & avocado He got the big ed which was brisket, bacon, cheddar & grilled onions I also had a roasted lemonade. I mopped my burger real quick but he didn't really enjoy the big ed. Frickles were on point as usual.

If you don't know, Dixie Grill BBQ and Crab Shack is a casual restaurant in Aiea offering food and drink of the "barbeque belt and coastal regions of the southeastern United States." This means brisket, pulled pork, fried pickles, okra, crab, and more!The restaurant has indoor seating and a private room, but I liked the backyard feel of the covered picnic tables. Our group was taken care of by awesome servers who regularly checked on us. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and my pulled pork sandwich was delicious! I had fun taste testing my sandwich with the 6 different barbeque sauces they offered.They offer catering and can accommodate group reservations and private parties. Happy hour is daily from 3pm to 6pm. The only thing I did not love was the scary mannequin man in the ladies' restroom. I inquired and there is no scary mannequin woman in the gentlemen's restroom. Ladies, beware.

I finally checked out **Dixie Grill** off Kamehameha Highway, a BBQ spot that's been here for years, and it did not disappoint! Specializing in BBQ and Southern-style seafood, this place serves up some serious comfort food. We started with the **beer-battered onion rings** and **fried calamari**. The onion rings were incredibly crispy with a thick, flavorful batter, and the calamari was perfectly cooked with a nice crunch and a tangy BBQ aioli. For mains, we had the **three-meat plate** (cheddar meatloaf, pulled pork, and brisket), a **half rack of ribs**, and **fried catfish**. The meats were generally tender and flavorful, though the ribs were a bit dry. The fried catfish was a standout, perfectly crispy without being greasy.The sides didn't disappoint either -- **waffle fries, smoked mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, cheesy grits, and BBQ beans**. The mac and cheese and cheesy grits were rich and delicious, and the Brussels sprouts and BBQ beans added great flavors to the meal.Overall, **Dixie Grill** offers a solid BBQ experience with friendly service and a great daily happy hour from 3-6 pm. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Food is still as good as the last time we were here. Brisket is my fav. I got a side of cornbread and Brussel sprouts... sooo good! And I'm soooo full! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great music and bbq feels inside. We'll be back again!

Lived Dixie Grill! Best chicken fried steak in the State! Lots of fun activities going on here too! Like Wednesday Night Line and Country Western Dancing Lessons!

Was passing through town when I wandered on this place. It was amazing like I love lemonade and they're lemonade is just the right sour just the right sweet ratio. All the food is amazing but I was in love with a brisket. Definitely fulfilling definitely delicious definitely flavorful and reasonably priced. The staff were warm and welcoming and the ambience is nice especially if you go on one of the days they have live music playing.

So it was my first time being here to eat ( I have one prior experience at the bar in the evening). So it was a cute setting, very casual and tv's all over to entertain people.The experience me, my two friends and my friends child had was something else. Our waitress Savannah didn't give much of a good customer service experience. She came to ask if we wanted appetizers and after only one of us ordered she literally walked away not allowing any of us to order anything else. It was pretty full but they were fully staffed in different sections. My friend asked for a take out box and got an empty cup with no water or anything in his cup. She also took a long time to ring us up. She didn't smile or ask how anything was. The servers were very polite, I wish they helped us instead. Savannah did make sure our soft drinks were full tho so that was the only plus.We got the catfish with beans and mashers and gravy, I also got the Mac and cheese. So the catfish was juicy, tender and cooked amazingly. Sadly there was no seasoning at all on the food. The Mac and cheese tasted like box Mac and cheese, the beans tasted like bush's and the mashers and gravy tasted like water (it had instant mash vibes and didn't even taste like it had butter in it). Also with the sides the temperatures were very different where you could tell certain things were sitting and got cold.It was a meh experience and I guess I should've looked on Yelp to see what things were rated higher food wise but that's on me. Idk if I would ever come back or ever recommend here to anyone.I saw a bunch of people say before pandemic this place was rated higher than now but I feel like 50% of businesses were affected. Hopefully if I ever come back things will be better.
