If you have the time and resources, shop around first for cheaper, viable options. Their business name itself (THE DISCOUNT STORE) is misleading as their prices far exceed competitors. Additionally, their "haul-away" fee VARIES and is at least $10+ more than what other businesses offer.I attempted to negotiate with the owner MOHAMED [MIKE] ALLWER (over-the-phone) on matching several other Big Box retailer's prices to no avail. I will gladly patronize smaller local businesses than the latter, especially during this economic downturn. He simply interrupted me mid-sentence and told me the model I was inquiring about had "already sold out" and they only have "more expensive" models available. I was already familiar with this tactic since he tried to upsell me an expensive model initially during my in-store visit. It makes me question their honesty and integrity since I had stopped by @10a and called back @12p the very same day.On to the next one.EDIT 8/20/20I exploited my wife into calling this business to validate my inquiry (same day). Sure enough, the appliance in question is in-fact in-stock (immediately available)--AMAZING! QUICK RESTOCK! BUT there is now a delivery fee ($60) + haul-away fee ($45.95). [I was quoted $30 for haul-away fee btw] Their website explicitly states FREE DELIVERY--WE INSTALL AND HAUL AWAY.Also, their prices via website DO NOT reflect the store prices, even for the exact model/SKU. If they decide to honor the cheaper website prices, BEWARE of any additional fraudulent fees (ie delivery, etc.) tacked on. How they've managed to operate this long is beyond me.TLDR--Deductive logic leads me to conclude that the owner-MOHAMED (MIKE) ALLWER is:A) DelusionalB) SenileC) Suffering from Dementia/Alzheimer'sD) All of the aboveNOTABLE--I included a receipt from LOWE'S for proof that I was committed to purchase, but ultimately due to your crooked antics, you lost one. I will not be referring ANYONE to your business, but rather share my unfortunate story. Awful, rude, disorganized, will take your money and then just ghost you. It's like dealing with an entire circus over the phone. I don't know how they're still in business or who would ever go back to them. Buying from them was an absolute never-ending nightmare and I wish we had never gone to them in the first place.

Wow, you either hate Discount Store or you love it, based on reading the reviews.I guess I haven't had a bad experience here, but I wouldn't say that it's a 5-star place. So far, we have purchased a dryer and a refrigerator, and both times we have had great service and fast delivery. The owner Mike helped us today buy a refrigerator for my in-laws. It was about 30 minutes prior to closing and no one else was in there. Mike showed us what he had in stock and steered us away from the grossly big 27 cubic foot models. He correctly recommended a smaller 22 cu. foot version which we purchased. Delivery is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 business days from our purchase date. Not bad.Delivery and installation are "free," but if you have the time to shop around you'll find that Discount Store does charge a little bit more and then include the "free" delivery in their prices. As far as we were concerned, it was a wash. I like that they delivery pretty quickly. Their delivery folks did a good job with our dryer. I hope I never get the delivery people mentioned in other bad reviews. I think you just need to monitor them carefully while they are delivering your item.

Have nothing but good things to say about this place. I actually got there 5 minutes before closing but they still made the time to help. Asked a few questions about a basic washing machine. Decided what I wanted and they gave me discounts for everything I needed.Washer was delivered when they said and a no hassle install and haul away of my broken washer.Great experience and would recommend.

Do not trust this guy he is a rip off "LITO" he finds the cheapest item to put into your house. My washer broke within three months and then to get someone out to fix it took four months to fix he would not help facilitate the repair man coming to my house. He chooses the cheapest slowest inept company to help fix his broken appliances. I would not recommend anyone go to his store to purchase anything he does not stand behind hisequipment that he sells to the general public.

Yes, there's bargains. But, you will pay a very high price if one thing, any little thing/s, go wrong.You will get NO help. They will quickly ghost you.NEVER answer the phone and No VM!!! Really, really bad sign.NEVER reply to emails - again, REALLY bad sign. Purchased full kitchen suite (BEFORE I read the review - Bad on me.)Recv'd recpt listing maker and price but NOTHING else. Requested Model and Ser #'s by email (did I mention they NEVER answer the phone?) FOUR TIMES. NO reply.Cancelled charge.You MAY get lucky but if ANYthing goes sideways - you will be F'd.

I tried to buy local and support this small business. That was a very big mistake. From the beginning the ice machine didn't work. They came out and said it was a problem with the water line. I was able to figure out it was not the water line. They said they would send someone out to fix the problem from the store. That person can out for 5 minutes and didn't fix anything . They told me they would call someone else who could replace the ice machine. We have waited over a month and had a repair person cancel 2 times. The issue is not resolved. In Addison they are very unorganized. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS!

My refrigerator (11 years old) died August 27, 2021. I immediately shopped Lowes, Home Depot and Best Buy. First, I could not buy anything on the floor, all had to be ordered. And, almost all were stainless steel and I did not want that. Also, I had to have a counter width depth. So, I went to The Discount Store on Pensacola. Looked at various refrigerators. Explained to the man at the desk that I wanted white, the size, etc. He showed me a Whirlpool that was a bit smaller than my old one. He checked on his computer and told me it would be on island on or about 9/1. He was close, considering Labor day, etc. On 9-14, 3 men brought the frig. One man put it together, arranged the shelving, etc. Now, I have had a good look at the frig. There is a dent on the left side near the bottom that I did not see. Also, there are tiny pieces of plastic sticking out of a couple areas and I'll have to figure out how to remove them. Also, there are few pieces of tape on the right hand side I'll have to remove. And,one gouge on the right hand side of the hallway entry, near the bottom.Both Home Depot and Lowes offer free delivery and $25 to remove the old appliance. Discount Store charged me $150. In hindsight, I should have gone back to Lowes or Home Depot, ordered the same frig from them and hoped for the same time frame of delivery. But, they could not guarantee a date like Discount Store. Living without a refrigerator or freezer, is horrible. So , I paid the price. I have a new frig.Would I do business with them again? No, not unless I would be forced to do so.

Arrived in Honolulu and found that the refrigerator in my condo was not working (6 year old Bosch) on Memorial Day. Found 3 different models that would fit in space and all in stock. Purchased, delivered and installed in less than 24 hours. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend.
