I went here to buy a board as a beginner, and the "manager" set me up with a 8' funboard by global surf industries. I purchased the Modern Falcon8' and have been on the water with it quite a few times. To say the least, I'm not happy with it or my progression. I'm familiar with edges as a snowboarder and skateboarder for over 28 years. I should have caught the red flag when the "manager" didn't know how to install the fins but was happy to make a sale. My buddies compliment the appeal but it's not right for me or my level. I'm highly disappointed and looking to get into a longer board without losing the high amount I paid for this mass produced board. Go elsewhere, I should have waited a day and gone where I should have at the surf garage. The "manager" was all hyped that "the family" owned the shop along with his father and highly recommended. Don't waste your time.

I only found out about this place after asking the owners of the Hawaii Republic shirts where they sold their products on Oahu. They told me to come to Diamond Head Surfboards. I did not see any parking lot for this store, but there are two metered stalls fronting it on Kapahulu Ave. if you come on a non peak hour on a weekday. The owner is very friendly and helped me with the different shirts I could chose from. I'd come here again for more Hawaii Republic gear.

Sue! She's awesome. Super friendly owner. Helped us out with rentals. Nice little shop with all the surf stuff you need. Even gave us directions to good spots for us to use the boards since we aren't locals. Pretty reasonable prices to rent for good quality boards and friendly people. Really helped us out with everything. Definitely recommend for your gear.

I found this place through a local friend who lives in the area. The staff was super friendly and helpful, plus they gave me a great rate on two boards for the week. They threw in the rack as a courtesy. The business changed hands at the beginning of August, so I do not think that Andy's review holds true Anymore. When I was there the selection for rental boards was a little limited, but I think they were still able to give me a great 9'2" and 8' board. My impression was that the new owners have a well thought out plan for this place and I look forward to seeing what they have done with it when I visit again on my next trip.

On our first day in Hawaii we strolled into this surf shop for a board and a rash guard. The guy working was so sweet and friendly to us. We got a good longboard for a week for ninety bucks! It even came with car straps. We bought some other goods and felt really good about supporting this local shop.

Walked in earlier today and was greeted by a friendly smile. My wife and I browsed around with no sales pressure. The sales lady asked where we were from and we had a great conversation. She even gave us some local surf info. I ended up buying a hat and sunglasses. They do board rentals and their short board selection looked pretty decent. Easy walk from Waikiki. We'll be back, mahalo.

Parking on a Saturday morning was no kidding harder than in New York City. Unreal. That aside, I enjoyed my first visit to this shop. Good selection and good variety of new and used boards, other helpful gear and friendly staff. Very reasonable place.

Took a unique board to the shop for consignment sale. One week later, saw my board on a car. Were they renting it out? Are they holding out on telling me board sold so they can make more money after price drops? Went to the shop to ask about the board. David (worker) said "the board sold couple days ago." When I expressed my disappointment that they should have called as soon as board sold, he quickly wrote me a check. Why would they not communicate about the sale?!If you do consignment business with this company, don't expect them to call. Check back often or go elsewhere!

Brought a board in for repair in March and haven't heard back from them since the pandemic started. It was a beautiful yellow log that used to be my favorite board and they won't give it back. I've tried calling for months, emailing, leaving a laminated note zip tied to their front door, even resorting to Facebook messenger to contact the owner and I haven't even heard back. In my eyes, they stole my favorite surfboard. They might've even sold it for all I know. I won't stop trying to contact them until the situation is rectified... please don't support this business, there are better board shops in town that at least have integrity and better service.
