I had already been in the excellent WWII Red Light District tour so decided to take the Devil's Den Tour this time and I enjoyed the last one so much! Once again Carter was awesome and it was so much fun. Very informative and interesting. The time flew by and it was over before I knew it. Thank you Carter!!!!

History doesn't get better than this. The tour guide, Carter, was engaging and knowledgeable. She let the story unfold using a simple hand projector while we walked throughout Chinatown and stopped at "Items of Interest." If you want to learn Oahu's recent history Outside of a museum and classroom, this is where you go. It was living history at its finest, which came to life with the Past (Pictures) and Present (Actual Buildings) comparisons during the tour and the flow of residents walking by and politely saying aloha as we passed. The delivery and presentation was impeccable. Carter is a storyteller. She kept a group of twelve - including college students, locals, and tourists of all ages - engaged and entertained with information, which is difficult to do. It showed that she did her research by the way she effortlessly answered everyone's questions and still kept on track with a smooth, flowing pace. Carter put the fascinating into a night tour of Chinatown. If you are up for a pleasant evening walk full of nuggets of wisdom, suspenseful tales, and truth that is stranger than fiction, SIGN UP FOR THIS TOUR and ask for Carter! The tour guide is professional, accommodating, and full of aloha, and a tour like this is not to be missed.

OMG - Had a blast. At first I thought this would be depressing and while the subject matter is grave Carter makes the tour fun. The way she tells the stories is amazing. Go on this tour!! You won't be sorry. If you haven't been on her other tours do so - they are equally as fantastic!!

What an amazing tour!I've been living in Honolulu for about 6 years now, and I had no idea how much I didn't know. This tour really dug into the sordid and dark parts of Chinatown's history, complete with pictures from a cool little portable projector. The tour wasn't all doom and gloom, though. There were poignant moments for every tale, and I felt all warm and fuzzy at the end.I'd recommend this tour to anyone who's interested in Honolulu or Chinatown history, or just wants to hear some really good stories told well.

The Devil's Den tour, led by Carter, was fantastic. Our family has been visiting Oahu for nearly 40 years, we've read Michener's "Hawaii," and one of us has lived on the island for 10 years and has a degree in history--suffice it say, we love the islands and know a lot about them. Carter showed us a part of Honolulu we rarely see, and she was quite charming to boot. The tour makes a great, off-beat addition to a vacation or slow weekday evening, and you end up near all those historic bars just in time for beer o'clock :)

Two words: False advertisement. We came to this tour thinking we would get a legitimate "ghost tour" like experience. We showed up fifteen minutes early and the guide shows up right on time while we waited outside of a bar for it to begin. I'm sure the guide meant well, but if you are looking for a good time this isn't the tour to go on. I gave this a one star rating because the guide seemed to know her history.. Just didn't keep us engaged. We stood in the street most of the time as passerby's stared at us. Oh, and along with my group of four, the guide brought her two friends. Not professional at all, the ad needs to be taken down.
