Every January is mu'umu'u month in Hawaii and DeStash is the place to go to find your perfect fit! First off:Location: found on the left side of South Street going mauka and surprise, surprise! FREE PARKING. That literally made my day knowing I didn't have to find street parking and walking forever! The shop is on the first floor and it appears they moved into a bigger area adjacent to the old (making it a much bigger space. Once you enter you are greeting by the nicest lady (owner). I told her that I was new to her shop and was looking for a mu'umu'u for an upcoming event. She made several suggestions (all so very good)! I was happy since I was clueless other than knowing that I wanted a vintage piece and perhaps a "newer" version as well. I came away with a beautiful Bette in a pink floral as well as another in red and yellow print. I was very pleased with my purchases as well as the help and hospitality from DeStash.

I love these women! First things first parking is available and marked for Destash so very convenient to shop here. I wanted to find my first muumuu and they were so gracious in helping me. I asked for recommendations for my body type and tried on about 10 dresses. Auntie was a wealth of knowledge about each brand and history on the designer. They have a huge selection and I want to come check out the store after they did some renovations... soon when I get paid lol! I ended up purchasing a sweet Pink and White Mamo dress for my first. I absolutely love it! This is one of my favorite shops. I'm hoping they get new clothes in regularly because I want to go back for cute aloha wear blouses to wear with my jeans. Very affordable trip I spent only $136 on this piece which was worth every penny!

Really cool, well curated crafting/fabric supplies store with a massive collection of muumuus and kaftans. This place is not necessarily a "thrift price" store, so go in well aware that you will be paying the team for their time and energy to carefully curate their store. We have a few crafting cooperatives in Seattle that are far less curated but resell crafting supplies with lower prices, and I was expecting those prices. However, that being said, fabric I bought ended up still being like $7/yard, which is a great deal for vintage textiles! Once I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by a family of folks who all were invested in what projects I would be making with my vintage textiles and were more than happy to chat about my vacation to Hawaii. I would recommend this to any crafty or vintage enthusiast passing through Hawaii. What a great selection!

I love this little store. It's a second hand shop and craft studio rolled into one. I found a really nice organic linen dress and soft lightweight fabric for my new project. Looking forward to coming back for one of the workshops, Lei!

Leo is the sweetest. I love finding cute items to decorate my house with. Gives it a warm homey feeling. I never leave empty handed. My bf gets mad every time I come home from here but he can never be mad at the price. Oh well. :)

Fun shop! A friend and I walked to the shop from our cruise ship at Pier 2. It was an easy but hot walk. The shop was an oasis of air conditioning and packed with fabrics, notions, craft supplies and aloha apparel. They even have a sale rack of mumus. It is a vintage shop, so have an open mind on prices and whatever you are shopping for. Aloha apparel offerings are for all ages/sizes and both sexes.

My friend introduced me to Lei and her fab new shop. I'm always on the lookout for quality new or vintage fashion fabric and was thrilled to find Lei's store. There were shelves and cabinets of quilting cottons, batiks, vintage Hawaiian, lace, and notions. I found indigo dyed fabric, a yard each that I may make into a wrap jacket and a scrap batik with fish pattern that may be fussy cut into something fun. Best of all was a fluorescent orange acrylic with a nice drape like a crepe. Reminded me of growing up in the '70s. Visit her shop and tell your crafty friends. You're sure to find a treasure!
