Denny's Review: Sunday Night ShenanigansAh, Denny's--a beacon of culinary hope when most other places are closed, but also a gamble where the odds are often stacked against you. I ventured into this particular Denny's on a Sunday around 10 PM. The place wasn't very busy, yet the vibe screamed, "We're doing the bare minimum and we're not sorry about it."Let me set the scene: one lone worker manning the floor, and that one guy--you know the one. The employee who looks like he lost a bet and now has to endure another shift at Denny's. His disdain for life (and customers) was palpable.I ordered the Build Your Own Grand Slam and specifically requested scrambled eggs with American cheese mixed in--a seemingly simple request. What arrived was a tragic plate of fried eggs topped with a slice of cold cheddar, like someone threw in the towel halfway through making it. Politely, I asked for a redo and explained my request. Five seconds later, the waitress reappeared, holding the same plate. The cook had "fixed it" by chopping up the fried eggs and calling it scrambled. Honestly, the audacity made me laugh, but the taste? Pure yolk overload. It was giving "deviled egg experiment gone wrong."The crepes were soggy and seemingly cooked in a microwave. The biscuit was Sahara Desert dry, and the gravy could've used a warm-up--it had the chill of a fridge rather than the embrace of an oven. On the bright side, my partner's braised beef skillet fared better. He said it actually had flavor and wasn't bad for a Denny's. High praise!To sum it up: the food could be decent, but the staff's collective indifference makes it a dice roll. I'd only come back at 3 AM in a drunken stupor, but since I don't drink, that's highly unlikely. For now, Denny's, we part ways... until my next ill-advised late-night craving.2.5/5 stars.

Came here at 237am when the app said my online order will be available. It was pretty busy when I came. 1 guy servicing 8 tables. Stood in front and waited for 10 minutes without him saying anything running back and forth. Table of 6 comes in he immediately walks over and sat them down. I told him I had an online order and he hastily replied "it's not ready yet". I'm actually shocked how busy it is at 2 in the morning and there's only 1 guy working but a quick acknowledgement would have been nice. This is my first time at any Denny's location and it just fast food but not making a good impression. Later on I do feel bad for the guy having to do everything by himself. Throughout my stay in Hawaii I noticed this is a common trend. A lot of places tend to be understaffed and people are not in a rush. I try to be understanding but for most restaurants just be patient and prepare to wait even if you do order ahead :)

By far the worst experience ever eating at a Dennys anywhere.Breakfast was busy as expected and the 85% of the staff here look like they hate their job. Maybe it stems from one of the managers Eric that is stocky and has ZERO ALOHA in him. You know what they say? S#it rolls down hill.Server was abrubt and had no patience, table side etiquette with dropping drinks was rude and even after telling Eric he looked clueless and better yet? You could tell he didn't care. His response? "what do you want me to do?"You are a manager, handle your restaurant flow and malama your customers.Save your money and go to the ABC next door for wayyyyy better food and service. You're welcome!

Super great place with a hugeeeee selection of items! I got the bourbon chicken and it was super moist! The broccoli was exquisite and very flavorful and well-seasoned too. We came here late at night on the weekend and our server was slammed since it was so busy, but she was super personable, quick, and friendly. Can't wait to come again!!

Fastest dennys ever. Came here for quick brunch. They sat us quickly, took our order & served our food super quickly. Would recommend if you are looking to avoid tourist & grab a quick bite.

Dorthy did amazing! Pancakes good as always! From the time we arrived to time we left it was a 10/10.

Best waitress, Shantae, and service that I have ever received at any Denny's in all my 60+ years. The manager recognized us from our previous visit. Oh, and the food was great too.

Our server James is probably one of the greatest servers I've ever had. We always come at late nights after a hard days work and he's always here with a smile on his face lightening up the mood for us. All the food tastes great whenever we come and it's very fulfilling for the price we pay. If you ever need some good food, good vibes in the dead of night, this is the right spot for you. And if James is working it'll be 20 times better.

I stayed the night at the outrigger just down the street from the Denny's in Waikiki. I got up in the morning and went to Dennys. The service was prompt, clean, and a relaxing atmosphere.

I would give this a 0 star rating if I could. Horrible and slow service. The food don't even matter at this point. Take your sweet fuxking time you bum ass servers. Just kidding. Our server local auntie working her hardest Saturday night shift was really trying her best and was so sweet that I take back everything I wrote up until this point. The managers are assholes but this server is the sweetest being I've encountered in a while. Dennys should invest in name tags just so I can compliment this specifically and this auntie only. Fire the managers cuz fuck them but the server? A-mazing.Everyone and everything about this place is a 1 star but the server is a 5 star therefore I'm averaging it out to a total of 3 stars.
