Dave's Ice Cream - Waimanalo

Always a delicious scoop or two at Dave's! Easy parking at this location and if you stand outside you get to look at the magnificent carved mountainside.Today I had a small taro with toasted mac coconut and hubby had a double with banana fudge and chocolate Mac nut. I appreciate that you can have two flavors in a small cup. Not everyone does this.Support this great local business!

Ice cream 10/10.Service from the lady wearing a mask 2/10.She was rude. She still did her job but with a terrible attitude.

All the workers are very pleasant and patient with all customers. Lots of tourists stop by for Hawaii made ice cream. Dave's in Waimanalo is the best on the Windward side of Oahu island. Stop by for shaved ice, shakes, sundae's and ice cream in a cup or cones. There's a few tables and chairs to sit inside but the Mountain View's outside is breathtaking. Try this place in Waimanalo Town.

Stopped here on our way down to Waikiki. Small shop in shopping plaza, but big flavors staff let us sample a few of the flavors and I knew when I saw the Ube I was gonna get that one. I put some condensed milk on top and it was so good and creamy. Best Ube ice cream I've EVER had.

Food is amazing, but staff are quite rude. Wont say a word to us, at least say hi??? Where's the customer service? Been here multiple times and always have had a weird experience with workers.

Made a run out to Waimanalo to the Feed Supply and hubby and I popped across the street to Dave's Ice Cream. I've been to that outdoor area before but never to Dave's. A little history... Dave, (David Leong) started his ice cream business in 1982 when he opened his first Dave's Ice Cream store on Oahu's west coast in Waianae. Dave is local all the way. The business has grown to fifty flavors and multiple locations and on other islands!(Oahu, Molokai, the Big Island) and even sold inside other retailers/eateries and by the pint. To think this place was inspired by his father's love for ice cream. Did I mention they make their ice cream fresh daily? You better believe they do! The store is good size, some inside seating and lots of options for sweet, cool goodness. Ice cream comes in waffle cone, regular cone or bowls. They offer Shave Ice and Bubble Tea, too. Lots of flavors to pick from. Our server was friendly and efficient. The store was a bit worn, which isn't a big deal. What's important is that it was clean. We will be sure to stop in again and maybe we will see you there.

We just got done with a horse ride experience for our daughters up the street and wanted a nice cool treat. They offer shave ice, ice cream, drinks, and a fun sundae. I was surprised at how large the interior felt but it's probably because there weren't as many tables to sit at. We got a few flavors of ice cream to try: Kona coffee, poha berry, (pink) cotton candy and blue cotton candy. I really liked the Kona coffee ice cream because it wasn't just a sweet creamy coffee flavor, it had almost a bite to it like real coffee has. My husband got a Kona coffee and poha berry mix. Which if you have never tried a poha berry this ice cream is a fun introduction as some have deemed the taste "a mix of pineapple and strawberry with a touch of mango." I thought it more of a sweet dried cranberry. The kids loved the cotton candy and pretty much ate it all. Parking: the lot is great and plenty of spaces. The traffic from jack in the box can clog some of the stalls up but that goes pretty fast. There is a rock wall to sit on outside if you don't want to sit inside. Service: there was only one woman working and about 8 of us came through and she worked quickly to get every order done. Not sure if there was a long line that maybe someone else might have come out from the back room but I didn't see anyone else there.

ICE CREAM- BOMB. It is light, flavorful and has a lot of yummy local flavors available. SERVICE-There is a young girl and young guy who have been working there a few times when my husband and I have visited and both are so dull and rude. The girl looks like we bothered her and slams the ice cream doors and provided samples in pure annoyance.AMBIANCE- It is quiet inside. Small seating. I'd consider it mainly a quick stop after the beach. Overall, I recommend the ice cream after a beach day in Waimanalo but don't expect much else.
