Dave's Ice Cream Aiea

Love the ice cream over there. My favorite combo is pink cotton candy and Kona coffee. I know it's a weird combo but hella good. The place is clean and there's chairs for you to seat down with friends and family. Also, there's lots of parking in front or back. The workers there are very nice and they have awesome great customer services. They always great you Hello and treat you like family.

Found a coupon in the paper BOGO (Buy One Get One) free for a scoop of ice cream in a cup. Knowing that their ice cream is pricey, took advantage of this special. My husband ordered a scoop of Cookies & Cream and I ordered my favorite from here which is the Macadamia Nut. My husband enjoyed his Cookies & Cream but I thought mine tasted different from before...the mac nuts were small pieces and not that many where there used to be half pieces. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to ice cream but thought it was okay. If I paid the regular price of $5.39 a scoop for this, I would've been disappointed.

Dave's ice cream has some of the best tasting ice cream on the island. It's creamy and not overly sweet. It's the perfect everyday treat. The staff is always friendly and the store is nice and clean. I'll give you a hint, buying Dave's ice cream from Times will save you the most money if you want to save some ice cream for the freezer at home.

Pretty good, creamy ice cream. It's thick and a bit rich compared to what I've eaten at home in California. The workers were helpful with letting me try different flavors before I deflected on caramel macadamia and butter pecan. It's a bit pricey for the small scoops, but a treat, nonetheless.

Delicious ube ice cream! Ice cream was creamy, not too sweet, and good ube flavor. The keiki scoop was pretty generous, and packed into the cone. The ice cream scoopers were very nice and let us sample a flavor. Sugar cone and cake cone were both fresh. Excited to come back and try some more flavors!

I would rate Dave's a 4.5/5! I came with my boyfriend and sister, and we got the Kahlua Fudge, Ube, and Caramel Mac. The Kahlua Fudge was a coffee base with chocolate fudge and was pretty good! The balance of flavors definitely depended on which bite you took, but overall it was pretty good between the two (not too coffee-ey, not too chocolatey) The Ube had a slight genuine Ube taste, but it is a bit sweet. The Caramel Mac was also on the same level as the Kahlua Fudge for us. It was a good balance between the Macnut and Caramel, but my boyfriend's final words were that it still could use slightly more of a caramel taste. I would say that the perfect combination between ice creams would definitely be Ube and Caramel Mac--I would 100% give this a shot because it definitely brings out the flavor in both when you have them together! The ice cream is quite creamy (really good in my opinion), but it did melt a bit quick for me. Parking is tight, but we did come at a time when there was ample space (about 1230!). The service here was great and quick, and the mood screamed FAMILY and HOME. I'm a big fan of Dave's and we will be coming back again!

While on vacation here in March 2024. Our tour guide brought us here and highly recommend their locally made ice cream. I got the ube single scoop on waffle cone. My husband got the cookie dough single scoop on a classic cone. It was very delicious and I can tell it was homemade. Limited seating inside are available. The workers were very nice. Sample testing is available. We would definitely return on our next vacation

I'm not a super big fan of ice cream in general, but Dave's Kona coffee is the only thing I ever crave. Best ice cream on Island.

Can't go wrong supporting local, and no one more local than Dave's Ice Cream. This location has been around for years! Before 2020, I believe they used to be open until 10 and although late, it was quite necessary (imo). Nothing beats ice cream after a last minute dinner at Zippy's with your friends.This specific night my friends and I stopped by, it still amazed me how many people still came in during their last hour of service. They close at 9PM now and it's great to see how many families and groups of people come in to support the ice cream shop until the end.Not many table to sit at, but service is fast, the options are plentiful, and the ice cream hits the spot. I always love suggesting Dave's to locals and tourists alike. It's great that Dave's Ice Cream also has a spot in Waikiki for tourists to enjoy, but this spot is for the locals.
