First time here at D. K Steakhouse to celebrate a good friend's birthday. Super late but better than never;)The restaurant is open from 5:30 - 10:00 pm every day. We tried calling before 5:30 pm but no one answered so we made a reservation online. It was super easy. The restaurant is located in the same hotel as Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, on the 3rd floor. You can choose to take the elevator or the stairs.Upon entering the restaurant, we realized that D. K Steakhouse and Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar has the same entrance. In fact the restaurant is split in half and shares the menu. I was told by the hostess that the only difference is the ambiance between the two but didn't share more so I stopped asking. Our server is Reid. He's a nice, friendly, and attentive. He checked in on us multiple times and also made his recommendation once we told him it was our first time. My friend got the D. K Steakhouse specialty 30-day dry aged 20 oz prime boneless ribeye. Their machine is broken so they didn't have the 30-day dry aged 20 oz prime bone-in ribeye. He just ordered it with white rice. The flavor is tasty and the meat melts nicely in your mouth. I got the Asian crab Oscar 8oz filet mignon steak. It's crab meat, asparagus spears and miso-bearnaise sauce. I love the filet mignon steak's flavor with the asparagus but I wish they removed the hard end part of it. The crab meat didn't taste fresh...We also got the "Hawaii's best fries" Sansei Kabayaki fries. It's fries with Kabayaki sauce, garlic masago-mayo, furikake. It's good but maybe less on the soy sauce or whatever that black sauce was. It's a bit too salty. it's not our servers fault that the meal was not perfect seasoned and made fresh. I'm giving it a 5-stars due to our server, Reid. Again, not only was he nice, friendly and attentive, he also birthday gifted my friend a vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup. This is what my friend wanted to have. He was too full with his meal that he didn't have enough space to try the Kauai Mud Pie. Overall, the evening was a nice and delightful experience. The restaurant is cleaned from what the customers can see. The bathroom is just right outside of the restaurant to the right. It's a shared bathroom with the hotel. The bathroom needs a little attention. It's a self guest parking and is validated. It's complimentary free for the first 3 hours then it's $4 per half hour. The parking structure has pretty tight turns so take your time coming up or down. They offer valet but I forgot to ask how much it cost. Thank you for reading my review. Have a great evening!

Super disappointed! Came here for my birthday dinner on Super Bowl Sunday. There was only maybe four other tables in the whole restaurant, it was empty ! All our food was over cooked. My lobster tail was so over cooked you can see in the photo it was all shriveled up & rubbery. My medium rare filet was over cooked as well. Our " famous crab and shrimp mashed potato" included shrimp tails ? And some pieces of crab ? Really disappointed. I also included in my reservation, plus my wife mentioned it was my birthday and we did not receive any complimentary birthday anything not so much as a happy birthday for that matter. We let our waiter know the meal was horrible when he finally came back around to ask us how our food was, after we were finished. Water cups never filled also. He stated he was so sorry and returned with the same bill? So why did you even go off to "mention" it to anyone.? Needless to say we still tipped him accordingly. Highly disappointed, will not recommend! + stomachache in the morning as an added bonus do not recommend pay extra and go somewhere else

Can I give this hole zero stars...It's well-earned. Lacked staffing, lacked good management, lacked honesty, and service was deplorable.I ordered drinks at the Bar before dinner, and 6 drinks for our guests came out individually at different times. What happened to the 7th drink? 35 minutes later the bartender comes over and says, umm we ran out of Martini Glasses. Huh? You're a freaken bartender. No, that's not what happened you liar. I watched this bartender pour EVERY SINGLE Servers orders which came after my order and somehow there were Martini Glasses for them. Maybe if you fixed my drink when I ordered it, I bet ya a glass was available. A-hole.Oh, this was the "good part" of the meal, if you could believe it.We got seated at a table that was comfortable for a large party. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, oh great we now have glasses of water. No one came to the table to welcome us, explain the menu, take drink orders NOTHING, nada, zippo. Another 10 minutes go by, and our patience is now spent. We understand the time of year, staffing, etc. However, tell us the customer do you charge less because of the staffing? Nope, didn't think so. Why should the customer get charged the same amount if the product will knowingly not be of the same expected quality? We flagged down an obviously skilless Manager who explained they are short-staffed. What, this time of year is new to you? Maybe planned better? Finally, the server comes around and takes the orders... a great time for an expected good meal...Nope not even close. Terrible from start to finish. Everything was disjointed, everyone got their apps at different times, and everyone got their entrees at different times. My entree came easily 10 + minutes after everyone got theirs. I don't like eating my entree when everyone else is halfway through theirs. One in our party ordered a NY Strip, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw he was being challenged just cutting through the steak. At these prices, no way was this a good cut. Heck, it happens, no big deal just send it back and refire a new steak. But...noooooooooooo. There was NOT ONE person who stopped by to inquire if we were enjoying our meal. Couldn't send the steak back because there wasn't anyone to send it back with. My Sushi roll was vile, vile. I Left it after having 1 piece of 10. Another in the party left 3/4 of his T Bone as AGAIN a ROUGH PIECE OF STEAK. Just was not remotely good.At this point, I was so very disgusted with this meal. We asked for the GM, never came by, we waited and waited for our bill...10+ minutes no Bill. Finally a Bill. No one came back to get PAID? Still no Management. We crossed off what we didn't eat and left money on the table. This place is a real Sando. DO NOT Patronize this restaurant. They combine Japanese with a steak house and obviously can not do either well. Too big and too varied of a menu to do any part of the menu well. And for these prices to go to bed hungry is inexcusable. The worse.

To keep it simple, this is not a steak house. This is a restaurant trying to go this hybrid route on both Sushi and Steak and honestly it just doesn't work. I got the filet minion medium rare and I'll let the photo speak for itself. The worst steak I have ever been served. For the positives, I also got the carpaccio and I don't know how they did it but it was very impressive. Their drinks are interesting and we had a very nice server who made sure to check on us frequently. We were able to be seated without a reservation and had a lovely view of the beach in its night time glory. I just can't believe that a chef for a "steakhouse" would give the green light to serve such an undercooked mediocre steak for $68.00. If you want steak in Waikiki I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. If you want sushi however it's a different story.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with good food. I went to eat here out of convenience because I was staying in the hotel it was located and I'm very glad I did. Our waitress was nice and helpful when it came to us deciding what to eat. I highly recommend it.

Excellent service. They were short staffed soThe wait was pretty long but we weren't in a hurry so we didn't mind at all. Justin and Jenn were fantastic in communicating with us, they were great hosts. We have the Oscar style filet which was cooked to a medium perfection and very tender, amazing flavor and the asparagus was also cooked perfectly. We had the calamari salad which was absolutely amazing. Great flavor highly recommended. Had a great time here. Mahalo

This is a great place for a special night out and is great for a date night. The food here is very tasty and the ambiance feels high end. My husband, who wasn't that hungry, ordered the 22 ounce, 15 day dry aged rib eye. He couldn't eat the whole steak and when I asked why he ordered something when he knew he probably couldn't eat it he reaponded with, "it's 15 day dry aged...I can't say no to that!"

First time writing a review for DK Steakhouse. If you're craving some steak on vacation. Try DK! I have been here a few times, when vacationing in Waikiki. I would order the Filet Mignon and Garlic mash potatoes. Whatever sauce that comes with the steak is very good! It's very easy to get a reservation here, so don't worry you'll be able to get a seat. All the employees are very nice, which makes everything better. Enjoyed the service and restaurant. Will most likely visit DK again!

Went here for a combined birthday celebration. They don't take reservations of over 4 people on OpenTable so called to make a reservation. Great service by our waitress. Very attentive & knew the menu well even though it was a very extensive menu of sushi & steak. Casual attire, which was unusual for a steakhouse. People were dressed in T-shirts & shorts with slippers while we felt like we overdressed. Enjoyed all the appetizers: blue crab dip 10/10, Brussels sprouts 10/10, hamachi carpaccio 8/10, and Caesar salad 7/10. Truffle & garlic fries 10/10 were crispy and airy on the inside. Mushrooms 6/10 felt like were not cooked down enough like other steakhouses. Appetizers came out really slow & so did the main entrees. We were almost waiting for an hour for the main dishes. My steak & also 3 of my friend's steaks was not cooked to what was asked & one of them had to send it back because it was so rare. Lobster tail had good flavor & was tender. My husband got the 30 day dry aged steak and was not that impressed. Not really that tender & didn't have much flavor. My filet mignon topped with crab & miso sauce was a little overcooked 6/10 . If only they had cooked it to what I asked for, I would have thoroughly enjoyed it. The free birthday dessert was scoops of Lappert's ice cream. We got strawberry & Lilikoi sorbet. Strawberry was really creamy, loved it! 10/10. Lilikoi sorbet was suuuuper tart, I puckered my lips the moment it hit my mouth 7/10. I really wanted to like this place but the cook of the steaks really did not impress any of us. There was a firework show on a Wednesday for some reason & we were able to watch it with an unobstructed view, which was a bonus!
