The kids loved it!!!

Our children had a blast and once they got out they wanted to go back in. I think the price is kind of expensive. It would be perfect if it was $5 for kids and $10 for adults. Or even the other way around. Since it's a kids ride, can even charge $10 per kid and $5 for adult since the adult is there only for comfort and supervision. Also, the last red cart needs to be more secured and not loose to prevent Accelerating jerking... the jerking during stopping and acceleration makes the kids scared because it's too snappy. I think if it's tight, the red cart will move as one and more smooth for the kids.

My son loves trains and I had no idea KMA had one since we rarely go out that way. It was ridiculously priced at $10/person, but whatever, it was my sons first time on a "train". When walked up we noticed the guy was talking to other riders for a bit, no big deal, we just awkwardly waited a few minutes until he acknowledged us. We paid and got on. Important for later, we were in a cart in front of the two separate families he was talking to earlier. The ride was fine, my 2yo enjoyed it.Now when we got back was what ruined the entire experience for me. After we parked, he hurriedly ran past my son and I to open the doors for the two other families in the carts behind us. Mind you, it is locked from the outside so I can't and don't know how to open it myself, someone outside needs to let you out. It was a covered cart too so I couldn't stick out my head to figure it out. After he let them out, he continued speaking with them and left my son and I locked in the cart! I was appalled! If you're going to continue your conversation let us out first! My husband was walking toward us from a store and I angrily was motioning "open" to let us out while the guy continued talking story to the other people. One of the other passengers saw that I was motioning open walked over and let us out since she was close by. Even after we got out the guy didn't notice she helped us and was still talking to the other people! If we weren't helped it made me wonder how long before he would've notice us or how long it would've been before I lost it on him! Never again. This was so unprofessional and rude. The fact that he RAN PAST US to let the others out AND PROCEEDED TO TALK STORY WITH THEM WHILE WE WERE LOCKED IN pisses and pissed me off! If you put a passenger in the cart, you're supposed to take them out!!!

Updating my review now that I can confirm that the girl conductor who USED to work here is gone. Now reviewing with the current guy conductor and he is EXCELLENT. Located here at Ka Makana is a little train ride that goes through out the mall. With about 5 little cabins for you and your kiddies to ride and a good amount of time to enjoy. Its $5 per adult and $5 per child. Children must be 36" or taller to ride alone. Hours of operation is Monday-Saturday 10a-6p and Sunday 12p-6p. Operations also depend on weather as this is an outdoor mall. Although its $5 per ride for my son it's worth it as he loves it all the time. The conductor now is ALWAYS interactive with kids and has a great personality. It's because of him we love coming back.

Quad City DJ's? So my son loves this thing and it seems I'm guaranteed to sit at the bench and wait for him. Now this can be confusing because they sometimes moves the pickup location but most of the time they are between the center stage and Victoria Secrets. A couple of times they were at Johnny Rockets. It's a nice set up. Tickets are set right now at $5. The conductor pulls 3 cars that seat about 4 people apiece. The cars don't have to be full to leave. Parents can ride with their kids but tall people will have to hunch down the whole ride. The experience is less then 10 mins and it seems they go around the mall twice before heading back. Speed is about the same as H1 during rush hour and you can listen to kids tunes as you wave at people. Overall four stars. Great to get the kids distracted. I just wish they had an open box cart for taller people. Hint, hint. Now excuse me, where's the map? I need to find a chiropractor. M

These guys are great! My son LOVES to ride the train. Every time we go to the mall he begs us to ride it.I think its $5 for kids and the adults are a little more, but sometimes they run specials where the parents ride free before a certain time. The cars are big enough to fit me, my husband, and the little one inside comfortably. But what makes it awesome is the people. Theres a guy that has been there since they first opened who clearly loves his job or at least takes a lot of pride in it, and is super awesome with kids. He gets them to engage and laugh and make the experience that much better. And he rocks really cool kicks with the Toy Story aliens on them. The little train has some good pull and an even better turning radius. It's pretty surprising actually. Even though the space in the mall that the train runs isn't that long, they make great use of the space and do a lot of fun turns. After the ride, they have recently started giving out lollipops to the kids so that's cool. Even though when all three of us have to pay for the ride it's a little expensive, its still worth it to see the joy in my sons face. I'll definitely be back soon.

I love this cubby caboose, located at Ka Makana Alii right between the alley of Vicky Secrets and some clothing shopThe operator of this train has world class service, truly!!! Our kids love riding this train and its kind of a long ride, we go to both wings of the mall, which saves us a lot of walking while adding a fun element for our kids!! They accept cash as well as card! Which is super helpful cus I rarely carry cash!! But bring cash for tips because he deserves it!!

My son hates haircuts. I knew when i saw the train go past i would him bribe him and it worked. He was so excited to see the train coming past when we were done of course i had to take him. Luckily no one was riding and we got on right away. If you pay by card the service is PayPal so there is an extra .50 cent charge and it's $5 per person. So for me and Vince was $10.50 with the fee. At first i thought it was kind of pricey but my son really enjoyed it and the ride is pretty long. He goes all over the mall it's basically about 10-12 minutes. We got a ticket to ride next time again for free anytime. Even if i had to pay i would ride again because I'm sure we can't come to the mall now without riding. I would give 5 stars if there wasn't that PayPal fee. Next time I'll pay cash! Thanks again.

My 3 y.o. son has been obsessed with trains recently so we thought this would be a fun little activity for him. Keith, the conductor, was super nice and let us put our stroller in one of the empty carriages. My wife, son and baby got into a carriage and I followed them on foot taking photos and video. After they finished their trip, Keith told me to join my family and told us the next ride was on the house! We were so grateful for his generosity. After we finished our ride my son wanted to stay a bit to watch the train go pass and each time Keith would wave to us from the front. Just wanted to say thank you Keith for giving my son a special memory.
