Funny people! Will be back for more fun. Wish they would have open mike or even shared mike where you get up with one of the comedians to try it out.

I took my son to a show for his birthday. He had always been interested in comedy but we couldn't afford tickets to Blue Note or Blaisdell so I suggested we watch local comedy for $10. Boy were we surprised! There were comics there that were better than people you see on the Netflix. People like Ian -something and Tumua. Highly recommended!

Comedy Squared is a really fun experience for an evening, and a no-brainer date night for couples that enjoy laughs and ono-licious grinds. Located at Square Barrels, a gastropub-esque establishment featuring sports memorabilia and actual square barrels, this eatery in the heart of Downtown Honolulu turns into an untamed intimate performance venue every Thursday (I think!). The food and servers are amazing; burgers have become my go-to there but there are many choices that are still mouthwatering if you're not down for a burger (or meat). The bar is well stocked, and I have been making my way through what they have on tap- there's lots of options there too! All of this on the restaurant side only makes the comedy that much sweeter. The comics have been consistent and seem to be a mix between local and out of state talent, which I appreciate. It makes for a diverse and usually fun lineup of comedians, and I think I have even seen an improv troupe performing with them every so often. ComedyU seems to recognize comedy wherever it manifests! All in all, the $10 ticket to see these comics was a steal. I found out on a date that if you're Military, tickets are about $7. I know it sounds like hyperbole, but this is theft on another level. The hosts and comics are consistently fun, inviting, and entertaining while remaining dynamic and diverse, and thus I cannot recommend this spot to laugh, eat, and drink enough.
