From the outside, the inide has lots of boxes all over. Dragon's Layer has a back room and not clutter the place up. However, they received a new shipment of items. No clear signs of "Choice Comics," Lots of Football-Baseball-Basketball-Hockey-Wrestling fan fare figurines. A small comic section and large bubble gum cards section. It is a large store with comic book section in the back, but closed. They have their own schedule and do restock on certain days. They require masks of customers and provide hand sanitizers. It seems there's a high demand for Pokémon Elite Trainer Champion Cards game box. There are two hologram cards worth $300, but cost $85 + tax. I opened all cards and got one of the $300 rare card! So, my ROI was $212...not bad?! Plus, I have five other rare hologram cards.I'm stoke...woo hoo! What luck?! But, I'm sure you can get the box for far far less! Check it out!!!

Reading is fundamental. Faithful readers know I'm a geek at heart. Aren't we all? I mean you went and watched all those superheroes movies. I went and read the books. Never try to compare the books to the movies. They never match. Anyhow you've read my Other Realms and Westside Comics reviews (that one was funny) So it's only fair we come here. Located on the first floor across from Times Supermarket in the Kamehameha shopping mall, the entrance is a little inconspicuous. It's got those blackened glass panels similar to those in gentleman's clubs. Don't be judging me, I'm just saying?!?!?!Imagine the store cut in half, the front section baseball cards and sports memorabilia. In the back, in my opinion is the treasure trove. It's the smallest comic shop I've ever been too but it packs a punch. Due to COVID restrictions you may have to wait outside because of a 4 person limit occupancy. Marvel, DC, and Independent books are in there's dedicated spot in alphabetical order. The books each come with their own back board and self sealing sleeve. For comparison, Other Realms gives you sleeves and Westside well maybe one day. Bryan collection is well stocked with CGC graded material. Not so much Golden or Silver age but plenty of late 80s and early 90s. Not so much graphic novels and game pieces but past issues galore. Overall five stars. Huge variety of material to make a comic geek droll. Good thing the books are wrapped in plastic. Now excuse me, I need a napkin. M

Great shop. Not the size and selection of Other realms or Gecko but they have good titles and loyal customers as well as knowledgeable staff like Jackson who keep you well informed. Sports side has a bigger area but the comic side is very serviceable.

Always a nice selection of comics and the professional sports figurines are a pleasant surprise. I've resisted the urge to start collecting Pokémon cards again but if you're still into that they have a lot of those as well. The guys there always seem nice to their regulars. I went to the store post Covid-19 reopening. They're limiting the amount of people in the store by locking the doors when it's at full capacity. Just hang out outside and they will eventually let you in. The guys there are friendly and there seems to be a sale going on right now. I bought a bunch of NBA McFarlane figures and was given a nice discount. I missed going there during the lockdown period so I'll be sure to do my best to support them moving forward.

I've been doing business with Choice Comics for about two years now and even though there are a number of comic shops on Oahu, there are a few things that sets this place apart from the rest.1. All comics (with the exception of the dollar or less comics) are bagged and boarded, which is a huge plus, especially since I don't want other people's fingerprints all over it and potentially ruining the comic's grade and value should I sell it later on.2. New comic releases are reasonably priced. Plus, this is the only comic shop I've been to so far where the variant covers (non-incentives) are the same price as the regular covers. 3. Customers can submit their comics for an in-house auction, held almost weekly (auctions are on hold typically up to 4 weeks before and after conventions and expos). Choice Comics charge a 10% commission for all winning bids.4. Choice Comics offers both comic pressing and CGC grading services. Most comic shops I've visited has one or the other or none at all.I'm pretty sure there are a lot more things I'm forgetting, but these are what I can think of at the top of my head. Choice Comics is located inside the Best of the Best in Sportscards. If you have any questions, talk to Bryan Kida, the owner; he's very helpful and knowledgeable in comics.

I didn't give this place four stars because it was bad. It was only because they did not have what I was looking for and they are located in the back section of a sports card shop (thought I was in the wrong place at first). However, its a good place to shop for current comics. They have a good selection of the newer comics, CGC comics and back issues plus everything comes bagged and boarded. Parking is a little hard though, but that is to be expected with a busy parking lot.I'll definitely be back to pickup the newer releases!

When I attend the November Toy Show and the May Comics Show at the Ala Moana Hotel I have two objectives. One is to talk story with comic friends. The other is to flip through the dollar boxes at the Choice Comics table. Seemed like they had a dozen boxes at the November 2018 show, and I bought a stack of great comics to read. Thanks for bringing so much fun the Ala Moana shows.

Great little place with a great selection of comic books, pops, and other statues. Got a few of new comic books on New Comic Book Wednesdays, which they have discounts on new comic books. Also all comic books have cover and boards during purchase.

Great little shop ran by a real good guy. Comics on shelves always bagged and boarded and appropriately priced. So glad they've been able to survive and stay in business with everything going on in the world.
