Chicken In A Barrel BBQ Wahiawa

Really good chicken/pork ribs.Ordered the Family feast, chili, corn bread, drink and fries.Under US$90.Had live entertainment (singer) on that Saturday night.Washroom key is attached on a metal bucket.Juicier than Maui Mike's Fire-roasted chicken, imo.

WELL all U food lover. TODAY was the first and last time I patronize Wahiawā "CHICKEN IN A BARREL BBQ". 167 Kamehameha Hwy. Just check out the piece of charcoal I received in my first order there. I bought for 2 people. With a nice tip total $99.00What a joke. When I go to eat somewhere. It's to have an exceptional meal with good decently eatable food. LOL. The jokes on me. This place has NO PRIDE in the food they serve to a first time patron. You only get one chance to impress me, FOOL ME ONCE, you will never FOOL ME AGAIN. Because If that is your pride to serve charcoal, un-eatable BURNT BEYOND RECOGNITION WHAT EVER YOU CALL THOSE Dry things YOU SERVED ME THEN. The joke is on me. You did your job. I expected decent food, and was expecting exceptional but LOL. The jokes on me. Sorry I will never be returning to your so called eatery, and I use those word trying not to VOMI?. You take NO pride in your FOOD. NON what so ever. And please $99.00 is ROBBERY. For this so called garbage. Or could it be I'm just spitballing but I'm a local boy. Enough said. See ya would not want to B YA. NO STARS , Oh but sorry I have to leave 1 star to post this review. LET IT BE KNOWN that I give this place NEGATIVE MILLION NEGATIVE NEGATIVE STARS. Picked up to go after volunteering at Laniakea Beach with the turtles. Husband loves BBQ so I thought we'd give this place a try. Placed order online through website, pretty streamline. Paid through site as well. While driving home through Wahiawa I stopped by and everything was ready to go.We ordered the chicken and rib combo with one extra rib. Came with two sides, paid extra for corn bread which was sweet. Everything was fine, not the best we've had but good. We did not eat at restaurant, however the outside seating is pleasant.

8-3-24 placed an order on line. Ordered the 5 piece ribs and got to choose 2 sides. The ribs were sink your teeth in, falling off the bone tender. Hubs thought it was spicy. I just thought the heat came from the additional container of bbq sauce.The onion rings were super crispy, crunchy. The Cole slaw was nice and fresh. It tasted to me like cilantro was added giving it a slightly different flavor.I'd pass on the pulled pork next time but hubs thought it was okay.I wanted to choose the corn bread and beans but hard when you're trying to stick to low carb. I cheated by eating the 2 onion rings but didn't regret it... or will I tomorrow?A nice mid-day meal for a Saturday .

I recently visited a BBQ joint in Wahiawa and had a delightful experience. I ordered the full rack of ribs, which were cooked to perfection with a wonderful smoked flavor and dry seasoning. You can help yourself to either original BBQ sauce or a spicy version on the side, both of which complemented the ribs nicely.I also tried the half chicken, which was perfectly moist and bursting with flavor--it didn't even need any BBQ sauce. The loaded fries were a highlight, topped with pulled pork, avocado crema, onions, and pico de gallo, making for a delicious and satisfying dish.The onion rings were super crispy and had a great mouthfeel, though they were a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, the meal was fantastic, and I would highly recommend this BBQ joint to anyone looking for quality barbecue in Wahiawa.

8pm on a Saturday night in Wahiawa, and found ourselves at Chicken In a Barrel... we had an hour before closing. Since it was our first visit, tried the Sampler Plate with sides of rice and chili. Also ordered the onion rings & loaded fries. We enjoyed everything... all plates emptied. Just wished the Sampler Plate was served hot. Liked that they shared their space with a pizzeria that served beer. We enjoyed.

Chicken in a Barrel is a real hidden gem in Wahiawa that I was so grateful to learn about. This restaurant is right off of Kamehameha hwy so it's the perfect spot on the way to or back from the north shore. To start, the atmosphere was incredible with a beach theme inviting enough to hang around for hours. We came during the afternoon and the place was pretty full, but there is plenty of seating and the service is quick. Definitely want to come back at night though for the live music on the weekends. We ordered the loaded fries to start and it was seriously fire. The pulled pork and cilantro crema was a new combo to me, but worked perfectly. We also got the sampler plate with extra ribs and everything was so flavorful and moist. The restaurant has bbq sauce you can serve yourself but the flavor of the meat was so good we barely used it. For dessert we got the honey grilled cornbread that was so light and almost like a cornbread cake. Will DEFINITELY be headed back here!! BTW - the chicken is ACTUALLY cooked in a barrel and sooo moist!!

Decided to stop for lunch on our way back from Haleiwa. We weren't sure what to expect since it was our first time there. The gentleman that took our order was very helpful and kind. Its shares space with a pizza spot. There are TVs and tables like picnic benches for both restaurants to share.The chicken was juicy with lots of flavor. The chicken for two meal is served with 2 scoops of rice, a cup of chilli and two big pieces of chicken. This is plenty for two people. We also had the honey cornbread which tasted like honey. The onion rings were crispy on the outside and tender, not overcooked on the inside.

Decided on a whim to check out Chicken in a Barrel for lunch. As it was fairly early on a Saturday there was lots of parking in the rear lot, and plenty of open tables. Service was quick and friendly. They offer Military and first responders 10% off. This is a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy your bbq! We ordered the chicken for 2 plate, which was more than enough for my husband and I to split. The chili and the side of honey grilled cornbread nicely complemented the tender, juicy bbq chicken. There were kind of a lot of flies the day we went, so next time we'd probably take our food to go. But overall very yummy bbq!

I was so excited to try here finally after driving past it alot. The menu is basic and easy to make a choice. I got the sampler, which was a perfect size to share. The rib was a bit dry, but the pork and chicken were so soft and tasty. I was bummed that I didn't get to try the corn bread, but I'll definitely be back again. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quick. There is ample parking in the back and a walk way that goes straight into the establishment, so no need to walk around.
