Cherished In Hawaii Weddings

We had a wonderful experience working with Jayvee & the CIHW team to plan our destination wedding in Oahu. My husband and I are a couple from California and though I'm a Project Manager at work (and a Type 1 ), I knew I needed a wedding planner local in Hawaii who had the relationships with vendors & knowledge of the area to bring our vision to reality.We started with an introduction zoom meeting and closer to our wedding date, a few more zooms to wrap up the timeline details. Most of our communication was via email. Note that the weddings closer to the date of get priority, so while e-mail responses can take awhile when your wedding's far out, you'll appreciate the faster responses when it's your turn :)All of CIHW's recommended vendors were top notch, professional, and reliable. We received many compliments about our decor, entertainment, hair and makeup artist, beautiful cake, how smooth the night went, clear top tent with lighting, photo/video team, and the list goes on! My bridesmaid said it's a really good sign when the photographer arrived an hour early to the venue.In the two months leading up to our event, I worked primarily with Jayvee when it came to day of timeline and rentals. She's patient, experienced, knows what looks chic aesthetically, and is on top of every detail.On the wedding day, Jayvee and Elena were the first to arrive and the last to leave to oversee the whole setup and breakdown. They were present and proactive in their role, so that my husband and I could be fully present and soak in every moment with our guests. We were smiling and laughing the whole day as if we didn't have a worry in the world! If there were any hiccups, my husband and I had no idea about it (even to this day). We were well taken care of, and the team's gestures meant a lot, whether it was handing us signature cocktails after the ceremony, bringing us ice cream from our ice cream vendor, or packing up cake and musubis to enjoy the morning after.Thanks CIHW team for making our wedding day so special! Our destination wedding day on Oahu was nothing short of perfection, and we owe so much of that to Mina, Allison, and Jayvee. From the initial consultation to the last dance, CIHW demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and organizational process. They flawlessly executed our vision, turning dreams into reality. Their calming presence and expert coordination ensured a stress-free celebration for us and our guests. Our wedding guests kept telling us it was one of the most beautiful and best weddings they have ever been to. One of the things that we were most concerned was keeping within our floral budget without compromising on our vision for the wedding. CIHW was able to help us with this and we were so impressed with how they were able to make it work within our floral budget. We made contact with CIHW in 2019 to plan for our wedding in the summer of 2020 not knowing that COVID would change everything. The months leading up to our planned wedding date were stressful to say the least, not only were we planning for a wedding, but we also had no certainty that the pandemic would end and when we would be able to celebrate our marriage. Plans kept getting pushed back as travel was restricted and the reality of a destination wedding became merely a dream. We did not want to lose hope and we still wanted to support the wedding business in Hawaii so we kept our deposits and continued to postpone our wedding for the unforeseeable future.Meetings over Zoom with Mina, Jayvee, and their staff were therapeutic in a way as they continued to give us hope and were constantly updating us about the new travel restrictions and gathering limitations that Hawaii would have. They were always positive and made us feel that our dream wedding was within reach and they would do everything they could in their power to make it happen. We decided to do Full Wedding Planning services and we do not regret it one bit. From start to finish, CIHW was available for us every step of the way.Finally, in the summer of 2022, we were able to hold our wedding with minimal COVID-19 restrictions. Jayvee and Allison were our wedding day coordinators and everything they had planned for in our wedding day timeline went smoothly. The only mishap that we had was our original backdrop for our guest seating chart which was to be repurposed as a Polaroid picture backdrop was not ready to be used because of the previous rental. CIHW went above and beyond and lent us an amazing backdrop that they decorated themselves. If there were any other hiccups in the plan, we did not even notice it because we are sure that they took care of it right away. As weddings go, we only had a few bites from our plates but they made sure we were taken care of with plenty of food and desserts from our menu to take home. We had our dream wedding go exactly how we wanted, all thanks to this tireless team of coordinators and vendors. For anyone looking for amazing and dependable wedding coordinators, we highly recommend CIHW!

This is a long overdue review! Mina, Jayvee, Pam and the whole team at Cherished in Hawaii Weddings are amazing! I honestly am so happy that we have found them. We set our date way in advanced but due to COVID many changes had to be made. Fortunately, we didn't have to change our wedding date! Jayvee who handled most of our wedding planning was in reach by e-mail and calls throughout the whole process. I could not recommend them enough! We decided to have our wedding prior to ever being to Hawaii and we could not have imagined a better team to handle all the wedding planning! From planning the venue to deciding the smallest details they were available for input and they always put their brides and grooms first! If you are thinking to have a wedding in Hawaii an are searching for a wedding coordinator, I 1000% recommend this incredible team!Thank you all for helping our wedding extra special!

I cannot speak highly enough of the Cherished in Hawaii Weddings team. Planning a destination wedding required us to make a lot of decisions without seeing or tasting anything ourselves, so the local knowledge they provided was invaluable. The team helped us find the venue of our dreams and did the majority of liaising with them. We decided to choose one of their packages, allowing us to use the vendors they knew would be amazing, and saving us tons of time in researching and vetting each one. In hindsight it was a great choice as everything was wonderful!The offiant they selected was cheerful, funny, and sincere. The DJ did the most to mix our favourite songs in with ones he knew would get people onto the dance floor. I left most of the décor decisions up to the team and I was blown away by what they were able to put together. The photographer they recommend was excellent and ran circles around us, providing us with so many shots that we will cherish (no pun intended) forever. We had a videographer as well that produced such an amazing video to share with our friends and family that could not attend. We were really impressed with the food choices offered with the packages. Everything was so delicious and all of our guests let us know how much they liked it afterwards. The baker they work with also offered a really great selection of cake flavours. We went with strawberries and cream for the first layer and chocolate raspberry for the second layer. It was delicious, no dry wedding cake here!Allison was our head coordinator. She was a dream to work with. Throughout the planning process she was always available to answer questions and put our concerns at ease. Where she really shone, though, was the day of. She was everywhere. She made sure everyone knew where to go, and what to do. Having her around allowed me to let go, relax, and actually enjoy the wedding! She really is a wedding fairy godmother.At the end of the day I wouldn't have done anything differently. Our guests kept telling us that the wedding was like something you see in the movies. Mina and her team helped us design our wedding vision from the inception to the wedding day. They created a beautiful green, gold and white color scheme, they know all the best wedding photographers and the food their vendor catered was delicious. They put together a clean timeline for us follow on the day of the wedding so that we could enjoy our day without worrying about anything wedding related aside from looking our best. The wedding vision had so many lights strung into a clear tent with a beautiful Hawaiian night sky celebrating our love.

Where to even begin.. I felt like I used a live google... When you think of a wedding planner you'd think that you tell them what you like and are looking for and they go and do the leg work. Sadly this was not the case. For example, I shared the style of photography I was looking for and instead of getting a list of photographers with like styles and different price ranges for budget purposes I received a google list... and what I mean is that I could've literally just searched for "photographers in Honolulu" and a list would pop up ... nothing narrowed down ti the style I wanted... I had to then take the list they gave me and go through each one , which most had dark not soft and bright lighting like I said I was looking for. This was the case with Mostly every vendor. So if you want full service they do the leg work this is not the place. Having to repeat myself constantly and correct them on things I had asked for was stressful as you can imagine. I feared the worst and one of the items I constantly repeated myself was that I needed an 8 passenger limo to accommodate for the rest of my guests that didn't fit in the 64 passenger shuttle we hired... on my wedding day I walk out, shuttle already gone and three extra people that did not fit in the small limo that picked me up... my mother in law had to ride in the front with the driver and we had to uncomfortably squeeze in the other two in the back to drive 30plus minutes to our ceremony.There is zero to no concern for your budget. Not once did they ever say hey we are at this amount let's look at these vendors maybe replace xyz... We rented a tent as we had an outdoor venue and we wanted to add greenery to the tent polls, real greenery was very expensive, you'd think they'd offer a back up ... instead I had to ask can we use artificial as it's more cost effective etc. We supposedly rented the bigger tent which had 4 poles in the middle and that I needed to double up on the artificial greenery so that it would look nice.... Well the tent was not the one with 4 poles in the middle ... it was the smaller tent ... when I asked on my wedding day wasn't it supposed to be the bigger tent the planner responded "this is the bigger tent".... It was not they had showed us the bigger tent on a call vs what we had and I also had previously looked it upOn the rental company's website... (no word of reimbursement etc all I know is that was not the tent I was promised and they made me buy extra greenery.Speaking of extra money spent... I rented items from them that I did not get.. like they said I needed to rent the flower girl baskets from them because they wouldn't come from the vendor ... they did .... I rented ring bearer pillows from them ... my ring bearers walked in empty handed and the wedding planner never thought of making sure they had the rings... no refund for those items either and god know how many other items as I was not gonna spend another minute of my wedding day doing something the wedding planner should've done.Like meeting me at my limo when it arrived to let me know when to enter as my fiancé would not see me until the altar... the limo driver had to go and ask her ... I am very disappointed of the service and treatment I received from them. I could write more and explain more reasons why it was terrible service but I don't want to waste anymore of my time and you shouldn't either if you are looking for a wedding planner that will care, listen do the leg work and be mindful of your budget. P.S if you have people with food allergies they aren't mindful either... I had to ask, as they forgot even when the information was provided.

To be honest, I was quite skeptical at first as I have heard many horror stories pertaining to hiring wedding coordinators. This was not the case. Jayvee and team went above and beyond on our special day and ensured us that the event went smoothly. I cannot thank you guys enough for your creativity and your efforts for making us enjoy our wedding. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their services to any couple who are planning to tie the knot in Hawaii.
