Wow! Super cool matcha and gelato place that just opened up! Easy to miss, but a place you don't want to miss out on. They have house made gelato in various tea and Japanese flavors. They also serve various types of green tea. Had ice cream this last time, but def want to go back to try their ochazuke and other offerings. Vibe is really cozy with nice wood accents. Service very polite and friendly. Parking can be a little tricky-- limited street parking (depending how far down street you want to park) and there is a paid parking lot in the back side of the block.

The aesthetic is so nice here. It is a great spot to come get a sweet treat. I got scoops of both the black sesame and yuzu ginger gelato because it was so hard to choose just one! The black sesame gelato has such a good strong flavor and the yuzu ginger is so refreshing. I need to come back to try teas and matcha. We parked on the street one block over.

Was lucky today to get the last Strawberry Matcha lattes of the day! It's no secret that this place is a vibe and my favorite place for matcha and gelato. I take my friends here a lot, and I can imagine this is a popular spot for a girls night out/hangout with friends. Strawberry Matcha Latte is their newest item on the menu. Drink was delicious with accents of fresh strawberry puree that didn't take away from the matcha that they use. Gelato is always my favorite as usual, and the owner is so pretty and nice :)

Cute tea and gelato shop that's perfect for a post-dinner dessert or if you have a craving for tea and sweets! We stopped by after dinner and decided to try a combo ($15).There were about 6 different gelato flavors, but we were only allowed to sample one each. I ultimately decided to go with the kinako flavor (roasted soybean) and it came with a side of brown sugar for me to drizzle on top. The combo also included a cold brew hojicha and matcha pairing. I really enjoyed and kinako gelato as well as the hojicha. I also thought it was rather elegant that the tea was served in a wine glass. The matcha was fairly bitter, but I'm not sure if it's because I went to the sweeter gelato first so my palate was not primed for bitter.

i've come here several times since they've opened and i've been a fan! I really like the decor/setup. it's such a cute little shop tucked away in Kapahulu next to a izakaya which i think is under the same company. Parking can be a little rough in this area since its street parking only, but if you go at a really odd time or late at night then it shouldn't be any problem. It is nice to finally find a shop that also sells monaka ice cream and it's reasonably priced for both beverages and desserts. My favorite was the kinako and black sesame. The tea master is unfortunately no longer there anymore, so the menu has changed as of December 2nd.

While the pairing menu is over, the new menu and experience at Cha To Gelato Zen is wonderful nonetheless. The gelato comes in delicious, unique flavors while the tea is incredibly high-quality and precisely brewed. I highly recommend sitting at the bar, where you can watch the magic happen!I started off with a miso gelato, which includes raisins that nicely balance the slight umami taste. When served with the samidori matcha, which is less bitter and a little more savory than other matches, it's pretty perfect. I adore the mismatched pottery everything is served in, too.We also had the kinako gelato, which is topped with more of the soybean flour and comes with an ume sauce you can drizzle over. The kinako stood out a lot! We ordered this as part of a combo, so we also received another cup of matcha and possibly the best iced hojicha I've had.You can taste and see the quality here, and the space feels very calming. The staff is also super friendly. Great place to end your date nights or even a casual night out!

Came here on my first day on Oahu and they set the bar really high! This place is that good, and we tried the strawberry matcha latte, the black sesame ice cream, and the matcha ice cream. Everything was delicious, the flavors of everything were perfect, and the strawberry matcha latte was solid. The matcha flavor was strong and perfectly balanced with the strawberry which tasted fresh. The service was great, the lady who helped us was friendly and fast. The ambiance was lovely and the interior is very nice.

Kabocha gelato...OMG GET IT!!The art of zen and the crafted tea is definitely found here and as we waited for our table at Aburiya Ibushi I though let's give them a visit and relax with some tea and to my delight they had a seasonal flavor of kabocha!! You know I had to have it and paired it with a cup of matcha and what a treat, the scoop of gelato was sprinkled with some cinnamon and garnished with pumpkin seeds, and after I finished it all the master had poured me a cold brew tea so delightful and refreshing I was a happy girl. Love the vibe here and the time we got to spend as we wait for our table, love to have return and taste the zen.Thank you!

Stopped by for the gelato and tea pairing, but the menu has sadly changed and it's no longer offered. Still, we gave their gelato a try and really loved it! I sampled the black sesame, miso, and yuzu ginger - ultimately going with the yuzu ginger. It was SO refreshing and the perfect afternoon treat. My boyfriend chose the matcha which was rich in taste and high in quality. The interior is so beautifully decorated, and a great hangout spot. Will definitely revisit the next time I'm back!

According to Yelp, this is my most checked in location! It's not that I come here a crazy amount, I mean I noticed the barista's hair got longer but oh man, maybe I do come here quite a bit. More than I need to. Definitely a treat!I like to walk, a lot! I think my brother and I take after our grandma in this regard. It's kind of weird and I like it. And since I first stumbled into this place, I keep stumbling in. Is it the varieties of matcha? Is it the ability to have a really joyful spoonful in such a slow space? Or is it the heartfelt hospitality? Maybe a quality curation of all the above!I have always been charmed by something they practice at the end of your time together. Not only charmed but deeply moved. Even just getting to witness this act from my corner of the space puts the biggest smile on my face. Tonight I sat at the bar and also got to witness guests gifting the owner with chocolate. I'm not the only one who sees the beauty of this place and these people. Do yourself a favor and don't just walk by, step inside!
