At UH Manoa today for an event with SOEST and grabbed a bite to eat. Yes, it's noisy and crowded but I was curious to see how much had changed since I was a student here. The lines move quick, the options are plentiful, and I appreciate the eco friendly take out boxes!

This review is only for "Da Grill", the burger place in CC. I'm a UH Manoa noob and was asking my friends around where I should eat a burger while I was at school. My choice in my head before asking were sistah, which was $13 bucks for a burger combo...a bit too pricy for me, or L&L, but their burgers are so small...Low and behold, my friends mentioned Da Grill and my first instinct was to yelp it. I couldn't really find anything specific for Da Grill, so I figured I will try it for myself! I was pleasantly surprised :)First, you order from a sheet of paper that's available on the counter. You check off all the things you want on your burger, I got a regular cheese burger and a side of fries. It came with pickles(a lot of pickles actually), raw red onion, lettuce and tomato. You can also request to have certain ingredients such as bacon, avocado and cheese. You toss your sheet of paper in a wire plate and they will take it and make your order! It was less than five minutes, plus it was during a lunch rush so I thought it was very fast for the amount of people they served. You than go to the cashier and confirm your order with them. My burger and fries were only 7.78 and I was ecstatic!!! That's such a good price. You can also take a plastic bag from the cashier after you pay and there is ketchup on the right when exiting the cashier, and forks and napkins on your left. The burger tasted like a Teddy's burger. It was pretty big. The sauce was almost the same as teddy's. The portion of fries they gave were crazy... I could only finish half of it. You know yo girl looooves fries, but the burger filled my tummy up pretty well.I know there are other places such as Aja and the regular cafeteria, but I think Da Grill is the most bang for your buck. The food is fresh, not "pre-made" like the other two. Found another great place to eat on campus!! Thanks friends :)

They can make good tri tip steaks and good chowder soups at affordable price and can compete with restaurants like ruby tuesday's and denny's. Definitely like their burgers and fries . Overall, great cafeteria food. But not really fond of the crowded dining area. However, food taste great.

Campus Center Dining has the BEST MUSUBI's EVER only about $2. They also have awesome salads that I get when they're out of the musubi's. Its located on the second floor of campus center, the hours vary. I always come here for a quick musubi and to refill my hydroflask. They've never scolded me yet, but I feel like its coming....lolOther then the musubis and salad they have a good selection of other stuff like sushi, plate lunches, burgers, fries, drinks, and bentos. A good place to stop for lunch or inbetween classes if you're hungry. :)

The selection at this facility is pretty good. They have salads, sushi, bentos, burgers, yogurt, and hot entrees. I've never tried their hot breakfast items yet, but the aroma of mini waffles cooking in their waffle maker sure does smell good. For lunch, I've given up on their hot plate lunches. I tried the chicken katsu once or twice and it was pretty lame. They used to sell fried noodles which was my fave, but they took that off the serving line a year or two ago (I guess I was the only one who liked it!). So now my go-to food when I'm desperate for food is the udon station. They use packaged udon, but it's actually pretty good, they don't overcook the noodles, and they put green onion, seaweed, kamaboko (fish cake), and tempura flakes on it. Not bad for a little over $4. Their musubis (fried fish or spam) also make for great snacks. At a certain point every afternoon, they discount the bentos and musubis (I think it's 20%). I'm a little wary of buying those items because they could have been sitting there from the morning time (these items are not chilled or kept at high heat throughout the day), which goes against food safety standards, but I guess when you're a starving student, you'll take it!

I like the choices here: burgers, sushi, breakfast food, noodles, etc etc.. The coffee is good too! Most of the premade foods aren't very warm when you get them.. Plus you wait in line for a while if you're there during the lunch rushes. Some of the foods are a bit expensive too.. I mean, a dollar sixty or so for a spam musubi?! Expensive. There aren't many places to sit if you're there around 11am-12pm.

I love eating at the campus center dining room. There is such a wide variety of foods here such as salads, bentos, plate lunches, burgers, etc. Sometimes I walk around for a reaaaally long time because the options seem to be endless. The food smells so good and it draws me in especially since the prices are reasonable. I am happy this place exists!!

The last time I was at the Campus Center DIning was a few years ago, since then things have changed. I like the variety: hot foods, made to order foods, prepared bentos and sushi, salads, fruit and drinks. What more can you ask for? Everything is reasonably priced too. I came here last with a group of international students and was surprised at how patient and kind the workers were. Maybe they're used to serving students with limited English abilities, but I was impressed with how they handled our large group. There's a burger section that also serves loco mocos, a made to order salad section, drinks galore, a hot food area with daily specials, a bento section and a sushi section that has spicy ahi bowls. The sushi gets discounted after the lunch rush, so if you're counting change, but are craving spicy ahi, go later during "lunch". There is a variety of seating options, including some tables outside, and everything was surprisingly clean! I loved that there were chopsticks in the utensil section, and water dispensers to fill up water bottles and cups. If nothing here suits your fancy, there's always Jamba Juice and Starbucks right next door. Very convenient. There is also a UH credit union branch right next to the entrance!

Prices keep going up, but the food... Meh... The things I enjoy the most here are the breakfast items, such as the oatmeal, breakfast special (scrambled eggs, potatoes or rice and breakfast meat), and the chicken loco moco. The salad station ingredients could be fresher as I usually end up with somewhat wilted lettuce. The garlic chicken from the Aja bento counter is mighty tasty, but the portions have been getting smaller and smaller. For the price you pay you'll be better off heading across the campus center to get a $6 foot long from Subway. : \

They currently do weekly lunch menus, bentos, and hamburger stations. I usually go on wednesdays when they have the guava ribs and braised brisket. Both were really good with a few options for sides including rice, mashed potatoes, Mac salad, vegetable salad, corn, and fries. If you're going to class and need a quick bite before then, this is a perfect place to go.
