I thought the place was a little small for the amount of customers waiting for a table. They were out of two main beers... that was a little disappointing. Had to sit at the bar,, that was awkward for my neck in a conversation. Good was pretty good. Has the local crowd!!!

A surprise find, thanks to my buddy. A good and affordable sushi restaurant in Pearl City for locals, but the sushi (and food) is authentically Japanese. The sushi chefs prepare the sushi with the same care and skill as in Japan, and if asked, add a "local" touch to making it "mo bettah!"Pro:* Great sushi in Pearlridge - need not drive to downtown or Waikiki * Great selection of beer (Japanese draft on tap - Orion, Sapporo), and a great selection of sake and shochuCon* May be a bit difficult to find as it seems to be a bit hidden - park in either the old Pearlridge Sears parking lot and walk across the street or the second floor of the parking structure and walk downstairsA surprise find thanks to my friend - love it and will return.

I haven't been here since they were located on Ward Ave ages ago. It was delicious! Friendly staff and the sushi and seafood were fresh. Ample parking located upstairs from the restaurant. Perfect for dinner with friends, family, or date night. We split the 6-piece Oysters, soft shell crab roll, shrimp tempura, and Shishamo. The oysters were fresh and tempura battered perfectly. 1st time trying Shishamo fried saltwater fish that you can eat whole. It was good. Great japanese restaurant at Pearlridge.

This place is always a great place to eat. It's the perfect place to go to after visiting the bar next door. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Kudos to Mike! Love this place. The oyster shooters are the best! Parking is located at the shopping mall across the street but it's not far at all. The decor is nice and inviting. Make sure you visit this place, you won't regret it.

I heard a lot about this place so my friend and I decided to try it out for dinner. We were told that the wait was going to be about an hour but got seated at the bar fairly quickly! I ordered agedashi tofu and the Downey roll. The agedashi tofu was good and I liked how big the tofu was. The Downey roll was ok, the mixture and type of ingredients altogether in the roll wasn't how I expected it to be. Nothing really amazed me. My friend enjoyed her food though. I would try this place again but would order something else. Overall, it was an alright experience but seems like a popular place to get your sushi fix if you're in the area!

I'm usually a sushi purist, preferring classic nigiri over trendy rolls, but California Beach Rock n' Sushi won me over in the most unexpected way! I admit, I was skeptical at first--after all, any place with "Rock n' Sushi" in the name sounds...a little wild. But my partner was beyond excited, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did, because this spot offers a sushi experience that hits all the right notes.California Beach Rock n' Sushi has the traditional teishoku and nigiri options you'd expect, but it's their bold, innovative, and LOADED rolls that truly stand out. I sampled three different rolls that showcased unexpected ingredient combos that slapped so hard:Tarantula Roll: Star of the night! This roll was everything I didn't know I needed. The soft shell crab brought the perfect crunch, and paired with tender kampachi and creamy avocado, each bite was full of harmonious textures! Between the spice from the kimchee aioli, a tangy kick from yuzu tobiko, and a subtle bitterness from the crab innards, this roll hits every tastebud.Firecracker Roll: A close second favorite! This roll was layered with spice in the best way possible. I loved how the heat didn't overpower the scallops but enhanced them. The chili garlic was the real MVP here--not just spicy, but with a hint of sweetness that was addictive.Downey Roll: While it didn't wow me quite like the others, it still had its moments. The main drawback was a lack of flavor depth; the snow crab mix was underwhelming, and I wished for more of the spicy mayo and eel sauce. But what saved it? A mountain of ultra-crispy fried onions that added a satisfying crunch!Overall, California Beach Rock n' Sushi was a blast! The quirky atmosphere only added to the fun dining experience. If you're looking for a sushi spot that pushes boundaries and serves up unique flavors, this place is it!

The food is so good, fire flavors! I love the principal roll it's my favorite and no one makes it like here. Also the chicken katsu is soft and crunchy with nice chunks of chicken. Hamachi with chiles and rockin poppin shrimp is a must have. I'd keep coming back! Service is awesome the servers and chef always take care they are so friendly and kind. Ambiance in snowdrift for family and friends also sports lovers.

A great place for fresh sushi and other dishes! Everything is made fresh and very tasty! The service was great and has a casual atmosphere. Reservations are recommended because the restaurant fills up fast. Parking is at either nearby Pearl Ridge or behind the old Bank of Hawaii building. Must visit place for sushi connoisseurs!

My partner and I absolutely love this spot!! This is our go-to for date nights and for taking friends visiting town. It's the perfect blend of casual dining with quality ingredients. We almost always order their rockin poppin shrimp appetizer, principal roll, firecracker roll, and hot lava roll. Most recently, I had their shishamo special and the creamy mermaid appetizer. Everything... and I mean EVERYTHING is good. In addition to rolls and apps, they also serve sashimi, teishoku meals, tempura combos, entrees, and alcohol. There's some counter seats surrounding the sushi chef and a handful of tables but it's been busy every time I've visited, so highly recommend making a reservation!
