Absolutely love this place. My husband and I's go to spot for breakfast dates. I get the Cornbeef Hash with the lupchung fried rice and he gets the Steak and eggs. With a side order of Chantilly pancakes Everything is always delicious, service is always top tier.

For kanaka, a simple and ono option. What moved me and my Ohana, was one of the family Wahine, took the time to listen to an patron. She had been very mindful of the rest of the floor, but there was a moment where I noticed she was showing malama to a man that came by himself and in his elder years. It might seem minor to some but for our kanaka and our culture to still thrive and express in the "capitalist" mentality we are in. It was such a good feeling. Mahalo. Mahalo. Mahalo!!!

Just the feel of the place when you walk in is so welcoming! We finally made it for breakfast and will be going back soon because I NEEED to try the Chantilly pancakes. I didn't notice it until after I ordered... should have just order it but that's ok...next time ....haha. I think I was distracted a little cause Kapena was the next table over and of course hes so respectful said aloha as he was leaving. Good food...plenty parking and extra on the aloha. Love it

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. Cafe Kalawe is a true hidden gem! This spot is a local favorite, tucked away from the typical tourist paths. Real Hawaii locals know what's up.The food here is outstanding. You have to try the loco mocos--I went with the Hapa Moco, and it was bursting with flavor, fresh and not greasy. Honestly, I could've eaten three of them! The staff is super chill, and you can taste the heart of Hawaii in every bite. Let's keep this place our little secret, Yelpers. 5 out of 5, without a doubt!

Lovely morning breakfast at Cafe Kalawe and special @hoku_zuttermeister local Kaneohe native who performed for customers. Delicious Ko'olaupoko breakfast sandwich with meat and fried egg on Hawaiian sweet bread hit the spot! Fruit and coffee is great! Service is warm and welcoming. Ambiance is friendly and everyone is enjoying themselves! Ono!

Amazing place, made up for my visit to Rainbow Drive. This place had good prices, great serving sizes and quality product. The meal was amazing, the server was super friendly and they had fresh baked desserts. The place is small but spacious, they have a drive thru if visiting the great botanical garden close by. A must try, the beef plate was top notch.

First time at Cafe Kalawe and wasn't disappointed. This review isn't about the food. The pictures and countless reviews can speak to that. We had their loco moco, Aloha Aina loco moco (veggie patty) and to round it off I also had a short stack pancakes covered with the chantilly sauce. I had told our server Fia that I was hoping my eyes weren't bigger than my stomach and she laughed. She knew what I meant and was sure that I could finish it off. Sure enough, the food was pounded. I had hoped to have the pancakes and my loco moco come out at the same time but as luck would have it, the pancakes came out last. And....that worked out fine. The chantilly sauce was sweet and seemed more like a dessert than a main meal and it was so ono. This review is about service. You will always see return visitors to your business if they are treated well. Greeted when they come in. Thanked when they leave. Services with a smile and a genuine feeling of appreciating that you are there. We experienced all this when we serviced by Fia. Her personality was bubbly, with a huge smile on her face and we really felt welcome. Thanks for the great service today Fia. See u on our next visit.

Stopped in for breakfast on a whim while shopping and walked into a hidden treasure! Live music was playing, I mean really good live music! I wanted a light breakfast and got exactly what I wanted, eggs, bacon and toast. The service was extremely attentive, quick, and so much aloha! Friendly smiling faces and I felt like I was at home. Thank you to the kitchen, the servers, the musician, and the hostess! Mahalo!

Consistently one of my favorites breakfast places! Service is always amazing. On Sundays there is Hawaiian live music that starts around 9:30. Gets more busy with the after church rush on Sundays. I always get the Kahuwai Fried Rice but my group decided to do family style with the mini loco loco and the Chantilly Pancake. The pancake is always a must (sometimes even better the next day when kept in the fridge). Delicious brown gravy and a big hamburger patty. Highly recommend trying this combination for breakfast with your group!
