Olivia P. "A few friends and I just graduated from Nursing school and we thought we'd celebrate by staying over at a beach house for a few days. Best decision ever! It was amazing! The driveway was a little hidden so keep in mind once you pass the Polynesian Culture Center, keep a look out for the mail box with the address 55-373 Kamehameha Highway. We rented the Aloha Sunrise 2 bedroom unit and there was more than enough space for 5 of us. When we got there, I believe it was Ray that was there to meet us at the door. He brought us into the house and gave us a quick tour of the inside & outside areas. Azlina also came to greet us later during the night & she was very nice and let us know that they're right next door if we needed anything. The beach is literally right outside your door. It was really windy during the days we were there but it was still beautiful. We loved the convenience of the location, just a short drive in either direction will take you to Foodland, Longs, and 7-11 to name a few. So if you just so happen to forget to bring anything, it's not hard to find somewhere to go buy another one. The pictures don't do this place justice. It's way more beautiful in person in comparison to the photos. The house itself was beautifully decorated which gave it that complete Hawaiian beach house vibe. This particular unit didn't have A/C but with the winds, we definitely didn't need it. There were big windows on the beach side of the house so that you could peek out to see the beach and even watch the sunrise/sunset. The living room had two sofas that turned into queen size beds, the master room had a King bed with a complete bathroom that included a walk-in shower and a bath tub, and the second room had a Queen size. So much sleeping space! The unit also included a washer/dryer and a bunch of kitchen appliances (no rice cooker though so if you're like us and love your rice, bring your own!). Also included is cable & wi-fi! Overall, we had an absolute blast and I'm so glad we chose to go to this place. We'll definitely be back!ALSO, there's this super sweet cat that roams around the house. The owners of the place said his name is Holler. It took all my strength not to take him home with me! lol :)"

Lou C. "Call me crazy. I spent months planning my Hawaii vacation since last May. I booked my room at Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki Hotel just weeks prior. I guess the hotel prices increase early December. The room price doesn't matter. It's the final cost after the surcharges etc. I learned from most of reviews to understand what everyone is talking about. There is a $35 service charge per day (plus taxes). I only found out about it upon checking out. I booked through MemberDeals.com, a third-party vendor through Govx.com, which I found it reliable and better than AARP Travel Center. After I got my confirmation info, I emailed [email protected] to triple confirm my reservation. I don't want to be a victim of fake reservations. I prepaid my reservation $747.58 including taxes with a 72-hour cancellation policy. I got a superior room because of the bed type. When my friend and I arrived at the hotel, the front desk agents were busy. While I waited, I began to enjoying the climate and open air at the lobby. After I put my credit card to pay for incidental charges, she handed both of us shell leis. How lovely. There are some perks like free Bishop Museum admission for staying there. But we were too busy with the schedule. I didn't get a chance to enjoy them. We had our takeout dinner on the lanai. My friend and I enjoyed the breeze from Manoa Valley. I didn't get to see the fabulous view until next morning. Because of time zone difference, we woke up before sunrise and watched the sun slowly peeking through the mountain. I can't remember if we could see the ocean from the lanai. But the views of high-rise buildings were sufficient. There was a short walking distance to the beach. But I walked up and down Ala Wai Blvd for morning exercise instead. The hotel guests were cordial and housekeeping staff was friendly. I was very happy to use the laundry facility at the basement. I bought detergent at ABC Store, which was same price as at the front desk. It costed me $4.75 for washing and drying. I just swiped them with my credit card. I rented a car one day for a circle-island tour. Parking was easy at the side lot or in the basement. I just had to register the car at the front desk and pay $35. It gave me in and out privileges. Street parking is very limited. I rarely see opening.I didn't get a chance to lay at the pool. Because it was cold in February. I checked several times a day for the sun to hit the lounge chairs, but it never happened. I decided to walk around Kuhio Avenue in the sun instead.Room amenities were very efficient. There was a coffeemaker with coffee packs above microwave oven. I have to go to front desk to ask for tea bags. The refrigerator is hidden in the TV cabinet. It worked too well. My fruits came out frozen next day. Hahaha. I bought a gallon size drinking water from the store and got my refill of filtered water from the lobby, along with ice cubes. I don't know why but I felt so relaxed. Everything is within reach. Hot water came out so quick and pressure was strong. It didn't take long to complete a shower as the soap and shampoo dispensers were installed on the wall. Washing sink being outside of the enclosed bathroom was a plus. I wish there was a small table for eating. I grabbed the outdoor chair as table instead. We really enjoyed our stay at Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki. Check-out process was quick. I shall return. p.s. From the location to the amenities, everything was above and beyond what we expected. They provided everything we needed and more for our stay. Loved the decor and all the little touches that made it feel like home. Beds were comfortable and everything was so clean! Instructions on how to find the place and where everything was was very clear and easy to understand. We would definitely recommend booking with them!"

Nice place for extended stays if PCS'ing, etc. They had just renovated the building we stayed in and were working on the rooms in the pet friendly building as we were there. The free breakfast from 600-900 was very good and the laundry was also free! Walking distance to the mini mart/gas station across the street. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. A/C worked well but the room wouldn't get colder than 70 degrees even at night (good enough I guess though) We'd stay here again, very nice."

May A. "Great location... Hospitality and Service shined!Check-in experience was good! We were able to check-in early. We checked-in the lobby. I think guests are also able to check-in curbside. Our unit on the 9th floor was clean and everything was in working order, although, our "two-bedroom deluxe" was smaller than what I expected. The resort property was clean as well. There is always resort staff employees cleaning the property. The open air entrance to the hotel and to the pool was nice and refreshing. I was worried about safety and security but to get to the rooms on the upstairs floors the elevator will require guests to scan their card key (or wristband key) before you can press the button to your floor. They tried but we didn't fall for their timeshare gimmick. Our worst experience was in Anaheim. Grrr! Anyway, our short stay in O'ahu really didn't allow for it. We were too busy with my daughter's wedding and we wanted to make sure that our short time in Honolulu was spent well. Unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy the resort activities so I am unable to comment. This resort is at a good location. Step outside and you're in the heart of Waikiki Beach Walk. Walking distance to everywhere... food, shopping and, yes, the beach! The location is very touristy! The only thing I didn't like was the valet parking for $40/night (no other option if you drove in with a car). Self-parking is not available at this resort. Plus, there is a resident bum just outside of the parking garage entrance. This was our first time vacationing at Club Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk. Overall a pleasant stay.Review #2251"

Tropical Studios At Marine Surf Waikiki

Tropical Studios At Marine Surf Waikiki

★★★★☆ 4.4 (30)

Amy Y. "Tropical Studios at Marine Surf Waikiki saved my vacation from being a miserable stay, as it provided a very comfortable and clean place in a very desirable location - a stark contrast to my prior Airbnb that was a horror beyond its staged photos.I needed to find a place to stay literally the next day due to an Airbnb gone wrong situation. While there were a couple of other options, Tropical Studios looked to be the most reasonable value for its location and room quality. I booked very late at night, and the host, Niko, contacted me very shortly after with extensive information when my booking was confirmed and was very active in correspondence. I had to send a photo of my ID upon booking and was nervous about information privacy, but Niko allowed for a way to do that process without me feeling too exposed. Just be aware that each adult needs to electronically send some form of ID to the building due to their security. The rate I paid in 2022 was $118 a night (before fees), and the total was roughly $600 for 3 nights. Rooms may get cheaper the closer you are to the booking date, but obviously there'll be a chance there's nothing available and it'll backfire. Because Tropical Studios is a condo hotel, they offer no housekeeping whatsoever, no matter how long the stay is, so look elsewhere or pay for maid service if that is important to you.- AmenitiesParking and wi-fi are free. The parking can get a bit tight, but that is most likely the case with other vacation rentals. There's a mini kitchen with standard sized fridge/freezer, oven with stovetop, microwave, Keurig, electric kettle, tons of cooking utensils, bowls, kitchen cleaners, and beach/pool equipment (folding chairs, pool floaties, boogie boards, goggles, extra towels, and more). There is onsite security and you need to enter a code to enter the quiet lobby. The air conditioning is phenomenal (although a little noisy). Our TV was very small and mediocre and had a weird aspect ratio, but I'm not here to watch TV. There's an outdoor pool and laundry room, but I didn't go see them due to a packed schedule. Since I've last been here, they've constructed a coffee shop/restaurant on the ground floor.- RoomSizable clean room, though there was some sand on the couch. The view was above average despite not paying extra for a better view - we could see a lot of city bustle, some hints of ocean, and directly across from us was another hotel... in which we could see through the windows. So, close your curtains if you want some privacy. The bed was comfortable and soft with a lot of pillows.- BathroomThe bathroom itself is kind of small, but the shower pressure was great, and the toilet had a strong flush. The towels were very thick and soft, and there were so many extra towels provided! At first, I was a little scared about not having the standard hotel amenities, but I came to really enjoy the condo hotel format that made it feel like home. The lobby and elevator were immaculate and in excellent working condition, and you can tell that the owners of the property wanted to keep everything in tip top shape. The residents were also quiet and well-mannered.Niko provided prompt and excellent service when we had an issue (with parking), and was a very responsible host. The location is A+ because you are basically already in downtown Waikiki, and every other popular tourist attraction in Waikiki Bay is within a 15 minute walk (beach is just over a 5 minute walk away). I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I am in Waikiki."

Michael R. "Spectacular! The views, the accommodations and setting are literally picture perfect. The wedding we attended on a Saturday afternoon provided us great weather with partial clouds. When the sun came out, a huge beautiful banyan tree replete with a solid swing provided an immense amount of shade. The landscape is filled with so many beautiful local plants, trees and flowers that it's hard not to take too many pictures! Multi levels, with a huge flat area for event tents with a dance floor, if needed. The views of Olomana are exquisite, and the sunset was perfect as it was nestled in this beautiful Waimanalo Valley, tucked up against the backdrop of the cool, green majestic Ko'olau Mountains. Add in plenty of space for service up by the main house, water and electric available everywhere needed and small structures providing opportunities to rest (and restroom!). All in all, a venue worthy of any major event!"

Pippi L. "I think it matters who you rent from. We found our condo on VRBO, it was managed by the Moss family, and it's beautiful and clean. We checked out several homes before we made our commitment, and when the washer broke and I had to use the neighbor's washer, I was SO GLAD we stayed where we were. We were also staying there during the Iselle/Julio double whammy hurricanes that never quite hit Oahu. Great base of operations to explore inland and north shore. So, we had an updated kitchen, fully usable, with a lot of room to move. I made 2 dinners there, and all the breakfasts and most lunches. No table, but a large counter with lots of barstool seating. Worked great. We had two clean bathrooms. 1 Master king size bed/full master bedroom upstairs, with a two sink updated bathroom, and a huge close. Downstairs, another king sized bed, but a smaller room. Both rooms had TV, plus the television in the living room. The large loft had a bunk bed, a daybed, and two folding mattresses under the daybed where a trundle would normally go. This is where all the kids hung out and slept. We had a screen enclosed lanai with loads of beach stuff plus a bistro set. There was a hammock right outside the lanai, plus another small bistro set.We used the pool right in front near the lot, great pool.VERY comfortable for 2 families, with 4 kids total. We payed ~$1800 for 9 days/8 nights which included the cleaning fee; we split it between 2 families, so extremely affordable. We hit foodland and got the Mai Kai card, and that saved us a ton of money. That allowed us to take a few nice dinners, we ate cheap too (Fiji Market Curry in Kuhunu was great, also the Kuhunu Grill right near the sugarmill.)We drove to Turtle Bay Resort (you can walk but we had toddlers) to park in the lot and play in the sand via the public access. It's got a protected lagoon. Wear water shoes though, lots of lava rocks and sharp stones because there is an ancient lava flow that hardened into a spit. Really fun to scramble around on the rocks looking for hermit crabs.Things to know:There's no laundromat on the North Shore, and no public rooms at Kuilima. We tried to find one when our laundry went out. Aimee Moss was cool with us using another condo for laundry. There's no lifeguard at the beach as far as we could tell, so watch your kids. The surf is pretty mild (we were here in August.)If there is a hurricane or tropical storm warning, the locals buy ALL the water, flashlights and batteries and candles. Because the power and water go out a lot. However, the two hurricanes that tried to batter Oahu only got the Big Island, all we got was rain, so we returned candles to the store. We also ended up with tons of water. We stayed in unit #91. HIGHLY recommend this unit, and even more now because we went next door to do laundry and saw how shabby it was. The owners of #91 are super picky and ask that you take your garbage out daily and clean up all spills/crumbs, which we were on. That's because there are giant tropical cockroaches ready to take over the minute you mess up, and tiny ants are all over outside. Also, geckos and giant frogs, which I was glad for, because they eat the ants and cockroaches. No joke, the two cockroaches we did find were about 2 inches long. Never saw anymore, but we were on top of all crumbs let me tell you. If you are at all squeamish about this kind of stuff, you definitely don't want to stay "in the country", and check in to the hotel resort on the point, because there are critters everywhere. We loved it, and our daughters were excellent Gecko Spotters and Backyard Safari Action was happening every day.We left the condo spotless and vacuumed, all except two towels and the bedding was laundered.Really great space, very clean, very well-maintained, and usable. We spent our day time in Waipuha, Hale'iwa, and Kuhunu, and a whole day at Waimea Falls. We always came home to hot showers, gin and tonics, and cozy beds. It's a shame that not other condos were in similar repair/function! I've read a lot of reviews now of Kuilima Estates, and you just really need to be careful it seems. But we were really lucky, and we would TOTALLY stay here again. Our girls were really sad to leave."

Hawiian Paradise Vacation Rental

Ted F. "Amazing location - a true Hawaiian Paradise. First, if this listing is up (VRBO)--just click NOW and book it, quickly before it is gone. We did soon after we saw it and were fortunate, it was a brand new listing and we turned out to be the FIRST tenants ever, and it turned out amazing. What a FIND!We initially looked in Waikiki (stayed there 7 trips before), but most of the nice places (with ocean views and reputable locations) were either way too pricy ($250 and up--ads up for an 11 day stay), plus most required $25 a day for parking (add in another $275), plus some had high management fees (one was $495) if through VBO. Others had WEAK Internet (if they listed Internet access at all (and I had to work early mornings and used Skype for my calls). Others had terrible reviews (cockroaches, sounds of traffic, poor service). I wasn't happy (and time was short--every time I looked I didn't find something). So, I started checking other locations. If I was off the strip then I wanted to stay on the east side if we headed north--since that's where the Polynesian Cultural Center was (by far the #1 best and true Polynesian experience) and I found THIS listing. The pictures looked good--but there were no reviews (I was the Guinee pig). The person I emailed was VERY responsive (usually within minutes), I got my questions answered and applied. We got it.LocationThe one bedroom apartment suite was located about 15 minutes south of the Polynesian Cultural Center off the main road. It took about 40 minutes from the airport (the distance wasn't far--but most roads were 35 mph). The photos showed the ocean, but said it was about 900 feet from the actual beach. It is actually at the end of a cul-de-sac "up" the hill off the main road (so it is quiet)... with a volcano behind it! It rises up the hill and above the other homes and is comparable to the 10th floor of a hotel with a view of the ocean! The view behind is of Hawaiian jungle (after the plush lawn). It takes up the entire ground floor of a nice home that the owners (from Illinois) were obviously very lucky to find (their dream home in Hawaii). The driveway is pretty steep, but at the top you can turn to the right into your own private garage.FacilitiesYou enter through the garage (they have their items meticulously stored all around) and then you have your own code to enter the door. It enters a hallway with the bathroom on the right. The entire floor is serpentine stone (very nice) and even the bathroom back walls are covered with the same stone--very classy (there is even stone trim baseboard). BTW, the towels are thick and plush and there is GREAT water pressure and plenty of hot water. To the left is the big refrigerator (and they pre-stocked it with several bottles of fresh water), shelves with plates, and then the simple kitchen area. It has a nice four-person table (great for my laptop for my early calls)--we used the marble covered patio table for breakfast (and views). There is a nice living room with a TV, stereos and shelves with fun board games. To the left of the living room is a big bay window that looks into the Hawaiian jungle and a nice small yard. You feel enveloped in Hawaii! The couch folds into a bed and has memory foam (not one of the cheap roll outs). There are two large pocket doors that open into the bedroom--which has a large window and bay window that leads to the porch. The bed is AMAZING. It is a Sealy ($$$$) king size that is firm with a plush pillow top--as good as our king at home which cost thousands. The huge front patio (Lanai) overlooks coconut and banana trees and the ocean. It turned out to be perfect for breakfast (but pick up a little mosquito spray just in case). The rear patio is also nice and has a new barbecue.I clocked the Internet speed and the wi-fi was 46 mbps down and 11 mbps up--which was fantastic (and stable). There are also lots of TV stations and Netflix. There is a shared modern washing machine/dryer off the kitchen. Remember to open the door for the front-loading washer when done (they can mold in the Hawaiian humidity). You can occasionally hear the TV upstairs, but this is a house--so it's expected and feels like "home." It feels like the perfect, classy, immaculate beach house. It also feels like the real Hawaii--not the touristy crowds (yet it was still convenient to places we like to go).I came here with my wife and our young granddaughter. The owners live upstairs and occasionally left us little gifts--including a juicy pineapple outside our door. They were very responsive to anything we needed--including ideas for the best snorkeling and beaches close by.I rate this FIVE stars (would give it higher if possible). It is truly a Hawaiian Paradise and it was an incredible value as well. It is like an upscale "Hilton" home away from home. I HIGHLY recommend it!"

"Fond memories of heading out to Bellows Beach when growing up, listening to Country Comfort's "Waimanalo Blues" or other favorites of J&R's "Hawaiian Soul", Beamer Brother's "Honolulu City Lights", Olomana...Still the home of beautiful white sandy beaches and Military vacation cabins, Bellows now hosts some of the tastiest food truck and popup dishes one can imagine! I have come to expect the random rotisserie chicken stand at the entrance to Bellows (just off Kalanianaole Highway). Today, I was completely blown away by the dozen food trucks and stands set up this past Sunday! It was my first time going to buy Aloha (crispy beef) Island Jerky, not at a trade show, so the reason for my drive into Waimanalo. I left with a happy tummy and enough food for another day or two! Highlights of my purchases:- My favorite seafood ceviche (also seen occasionally at Ward Blaisdell Wednesday farmers market) - delicious pastele plate (pastele, gandule rice, 2 panadilla, and Mac salad) by Keekseatz. Sooo ono! Yes, I would buy this again! Also avail for catering.- recomnended by Jerky guys was pastele lumpia, delicious (3 pieces for $10). Even better the kalo/apple banana lumpia served with a coconut sauce (2 pieces for $6). Man... these were broken da mouth memorable! Good thing they are not in town; would probably be tempted to get every week! From the white last food truck (sorry I didn't get the name). And yes, got my favorite crispy beef jerky by Aloha Island Jerky! Some for me and some for visiting friends. I like it because there is less sugar on paper thin shavings of jerky. Because less sugar and thinner, it may not be as crunchy as some other brands still so delicious without a whole lotta "extra stuff not wanted". Favorite flavors picked up today included: Poké, Spicy Siracha, Taegu, and original. Thank you Cody! Thank you Shantell. Thank you AIJ ohana for always taking good care of dis aunty!Had to skip on the smoked meat, laulaus, koala moa chicken, sweets for another time tho...it was tempting! Another time then. We were picked up from the airport in an employee's personal van with car seats, groceries, and his toddler in the vehicle! We were dropped off at the Polynesian Cultural Center to wait out the van being ready. Throughout the course of the day, the windows wouldn't roll down, the brake pedals locked up, wires were exposed, the car would not go into drive, and we had to meet a maintenance man at his residence in the dark to get it fixed. It was an overall unsafe van. To top it off, we got horrifically bitten by BED BUGS!! The company did right by us issuing a refund. While other travelers may have a better experience with a different employee and vehicle, I can't confidently recommend renting Roxanne from this unprofessional company."

Waikiki Shore By Outrigger

Waikiki Shore By Outrigger

★★★☆☆ 2.9 (16)

Michael Y. "We booked an oceanfront condo on the second floor at the Waikiki Shore through Airbnb. I understand there are 4-5 nearby hotels that manage condos in Waikiki Shore but ours was managed by Outrigger. Our 11 night stay was ~$4250 plus state taxes (about $550 more). The condo we rented was a suite with one bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. This size was perfect for the two of us. The check in process was a little different than a typical hotel in that you can't just check in at the lobby. I just had to call the Outrigger on the house phone in the lobby and about 10 mins later an Outrigger employee showed up with my room keys and paperwork to sign. The room keys were physical keys not the virtually-disposable electronic keys most modern hotels use. The keys worked fine but are bulkier than a credit card sized key and come with a $175 replacement fee if you lose a set. We also had an assigned parking spot but for some reason the representative from the Outrigger did not bring the parking garage remote when he checked us in. He had to go back and get it. No big deal, but we had to hang out in the room about 30 mins until he returned. Fortunately we already had the fixings for cocktails so we didn't mind the wait. Our condo was on the 2nd floor in the Waikiki Shore. Normally I'd say the higher the floor the better the view, but not necessarily at the Waikiki Shore. The 2nd floor ocean front rooms have a better view of the beach than higher floors because the 1st and 2nd floor are further back from the water by about 50-100 feet or so. Our condo was also so close to the beach there was really no reason to get an umbrella and chairs directly on the beach. We could go from our Lanai to to water in 60 seconds so might as well just hang out on the Lanai and save all our beach going stuff from mountains of sand. The only downside of our location was the view of the Friday night fireworks was virtually blocked by two palm trees adjacent to the property. The condo we stayed in had been remodeled recently and was very nice and modern inside. The only minor complaint was the gas stove had been abused a little and wasn't in great shape, but no big deal. We had reasonably fast WiFi compared to what I'd expect in a hotel (17MBps download and 5MBps upload speeds - yes I'm a geek and I actually ran a speed test). We had two TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom both with HDTV Cable Boxes and typical non-premium channel lineups. Of course, these details are specific to the actual condo we stayed in. Other condos managed by Outrigger might differ.Overall it was a good experience. We will likely return for a future trip."

"The Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai, also known as the world famous Hawaii Five-O resort - has a ton of neat history, and is a nice place to stay. There are 2 registration desks, one for the regular hotel and a separate one for the Timeshare (not located next to each other - but nothing is very far either).Located on the edge of Waikiki, yet right next to the marina. This hotel is close to all the great fun things in the area - whether you walk or drive. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable , and having a fully (minimally) stocked kitchen is ready convenient. We had a city view from our balcony. While the view was nice, you also get to hear all that is city at night. They have separate elevators for the "bathers" so you don't track sand in the regular elevators. The hotel has some shops and restaurants off the lobby. Convenient store with lots of items, Dave's Ice Cream, etc. The hotel staff is nice and if you need anything you can call down to the front desk. There are 2 ABC Stores in walking distance, the nearest 7-eleven is a little farther (but has better fresh food). The Ala Moana shopping mall is also in walking distance and has an amazing food court! After over a week and a half there, I hated to leave to go back to regular life. But glad we stayed there!"

Waikiki Banyan

Waikiki Banyan

★★★☆☆ 2.5 (50)

Kmaintl L. "Waikiki Banyan Condos 1502-2https://abnb.me/3LIIrnN2EqbJust finished a 2 week stay in Tower 2, Unit 1502 and the unit was newly remodeled with everything one can imagine you would need. On this trip, everything was brand new, appliances, furniture, linens, and some beach accessories were still wrapped in plastic. From all the comments in the Facebook groups and discussion forums about accommodations in Hawaii, if you book your room at the Waikiki Banyan through Aston Hotel Management, expect to pay $30 daily for parking and $25 daily resort fees. So, $55 plus taxes daily will be added to your hotel bill at checkout. Also, you get whatever room is available in their hotel pool so not necessarily the unit in their photos. Booking through AirBnB, FREE parking is included, no resort fees and you get the unit exactly what you see in their listing photos. You get to read feedback about that unit and owner as well. I suggest booking through AirBnB directly with the owner or their property manager and get a better value (like this unit)."

Beach Cottages at Kaneohe Bay

Beach Cottages at Kaneohe Bay

Jenna S. "I love staying here! We were able to stay in the senior nco cabin next to the presidential one that sits on the hill right before pyramid rock. This cabin is really nice. Two bedroom with a wrap around porch that overlooks Kaneohe bay. On one side of the cabin you can walk down a path that leads to a rocky Bay Area, which is still nice for swimming and snorkeling. On the other side of the cabin is pyramid rock beach/bay! Lots of sand but the water can be a little rough. There was a shark sighting while we were here so we had to stay out of the water for a few hours. The cabin also has another fenced lanai area on the back side of the cabin, and a grill and shower area near the main entrance of the cabin. The nice thing about MCBH cabins is they come fully stocked. They had beach chairs, body boards, lanterns, one of the rooms had a Nintendo switch with games, the kitchen even had useful things like salt/pepper and oil. On arrival there are bottles of water and chocolate macadamias. The cabins in white plains do not offer any of these amenities. There is even a guest book each guest can write in, pretty interesting - some people wrote stories about beaches or hidden spots to go see near by, or where they are from - some form London etc!I really enjoyed staying here, would definitely come back for a longer stay but reservations are hard to get!"

Club Wyndham Royal Garden at Waikiki

Club Wyndham Royal Garden at Waikiki

Wendell R. "We had an opportunity to stay at the Club Wyndham in Waikiki. It was a fantastic stay. We had a Presidential suite that had a spectacular view pictures below. It's a timeshare place so it's not the typical hotel experience. It's a hotel building converted to condos/private residence shared by groups of people. You know how it works. Minutes from everything and anything. Make sure your bring your platinum AMEX or an equivalent, it's a pretty pricey town. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!!! Save your money check it out. Oh amd by the way you don't have to buy a timeshare"

Waikiki Place

Waikiki Place

Diane V. "Tom is the most amazing host ever! He owns Waikiki Place LLC, which is housed at the Marina Surf Waikiki conveniently located by a plethora of shopping and the #1 rated Waikiki beach. My first impression of him already started on the right foot: as soon as I booked the room on hotels.com, Tom reached out to me and offered me an exclusive one-time deal to add nights to my stay, which I could not pass up. His instructions were very specific and detailed. When I finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The pictures were accurate, and the room was beautiful and very clean. The Palms was a studio with one queen bed, sofa bed, a full kitchen with stove top, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, utensils, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, and even cooking basics like oil, salt, and pepper. There was a TV with all the channels you need and a lanai with a table and chairs for your outdoor dining needs. Forgot a mask? You get 2 AND hand sanitizer too! The bathroom had plenty of mirrors and also came with Bath & Body Works soap, shampoo, and lotion, and plenty of towels. What made it more convenient was that it came with 2 beach chairs, beach AND rain umbrella, beach towels, and a boogie board. I'm wowed! The bathroom was very beautiful as it appeared to be remodeled with two shower heads, one of which wa sa rain shower head and the other a regular shower head with great water pressure. As much as I was impressed by the room, I was more impressed with the level of service provided by Tom. He allowed me to check-in early, which was so nice because the day I checked in it rained so it wasn't like I could kill time at the beach or a muddy hike. This room was an exceptional value for the dollar, especially for Waikiki. And to top it off, the rate came with FREE PARKING! You can't beat that in the ever so expensive Waikiki area. Everything is within walking distance, the beach only a 5 minutes walk away with plenty of excellent restaurants and shopping to be had.Highly recommended to stay here if you're solo traveler, couple, or small family with 2 or less small children!"

Auntie Barbara's Vacation Rentals

Auntie Barbara's Vacation Rentals

Jon V. "First off, this is more a vacation rental. This was our first trip out to Hawaii and we were looking for something on the Windward side of Oahu. I found this place while searching for bed and breakfast establishments. **Note to readers** Make sure to check for only registered lodgings, Hawaii is having issues with unregistered establishments.Checking for availability was a simple e-mail inquiry, though I could have called as well. Response was prompt and concise. Reserved room through e-mail and called to give them the credit card info. There are two units, both sectioned off from the house with private bathrooms, one with more space and a kitchen. We chose the smaller unit which was cheaper, only $75 a night for the end of January. The place is two blocks from the beach and there are two beach access points nearby.I was nervous, given the low price and my unfamiliarity with Kailua. All my fears were gone the minute I saw the place. A large bed, a private bathroom, a mini-fridge, microwave and toaster oven. Even a television with cable and room for our stuff. While not top of the line, the room was everything I expected. Barbara and her husband were gracious hosts. We had immediate answers to any questions and a nice patio with a pool at our disposal.Bottom line: if you want a nice, simple starting point for your daily excursions, check into Auntie Barbara's now. For the price and amenities offered it can't be beat. It missed four stars for only one reason: parking. The house is set back from the road down a narrow driveway flanked by a concrete wall and a fence. Parking next to the house and getting back out is a nightmare. Thankfully we were able to utilize street parking and walked down the driveway to our unit after the first day."

Laura L. "I think "retreat" is the perfect name for this spot. If you're looking to get away from the busy part of the island, these quiet cottages with direct beach access are the place to go. This vacation rental is run by a nice couple who manage the property very well. The house was well-stocked for cooking and had extra linens. There were few people at the beach and little traffic in the area. It was helpful to have on site laundry, but make sure to bring quarters. I stayed in the pink one-bedroom cottage with four other people. There was plenty of room and would be suitable for up to about 5 adults. Although there is an airstrip right across the road, the noise from the planes was not bothersome. There were skydivers pretty frequently throughout the day, which was a pleasant addition to relaxing next to the water. I was happy that I stumbled upon this hidden property and truly enjoyed the stay."
