"Thydas is consistent and good. Lengua enjoyers rejoice, they will put lengua on anything! The quesadillas and burritos are both good with a decent amount of meat. Self serve salsa too. Worth a try if you haven't been."
"I'm here biweekly at this point. It's definitely my favorite mexican food on island. When I walk in, they know what I want already (mixed cheese enchilada plate) although I do love to mix it up sometimes (tamale or chile relleno is delicious as well). The mole enchilada is my favorite. It's so perfectly balanced between sweet and heat, I can't get enough of it. I love all of the different sauces (red, green, mole) and it never disappoints. Most recently I got the chile relleno plate with both red and green sauce. I guess my stomach is shrinking because I couldn't finish it all! Pretty big portion as it comes with rice, beans, tortillas, chips and salsa. Don't worry though, I got the rest to go and enjoyed it later. The restaurant is pretty small but when I go midday, there's always seats available to dine in. You can order take out as well, place your order in store or call ahead. There is a bathroom available and limited parking. There is street parking as well as a little lot right next to the restaurant. Usually, I just park in the Walgreens lot and walk on over if the other options are taken. Customer service is almost always perfect as there are two people that are incredibly nice, a male and a female. I need to get their names, but they are always so nice whenever I go in. The server is a male that takes my order and the women is the one cooking. So sweet, every time. As I'm writing this, I am waiting for them to open as now I want another plate. Today may be the day I try a new dish!"

"Driving up North Aho fordered the horchata and it was hella good!! 2 surfin tacos. One sweet pork and one fish And quesadilla with sweet porkI love the music and breezy areaYou can't miss it driving down north shore. It's a building with red decorations."
"I was going to start this off by saying "wow, I wish they were in town" but they apparently have a food truck in town!!If I lived out on this side, I'd frequent this place.Service was great. They had seating for about 16 inside (4 tables) and were very accommodating and friendly. Our group got a mix of tacos and wet burritos and they were all so delicious. I will be back!"
"A food truck with seating area right next to it. Right off the bat we were greeted by, who I was assuming was the owner who asked right away if we had any questions about the menu. We ordered our food and drinks and headed to the seating area. We ordered the lemonade, my wife loves extra tart lemonade, and they did not disappoint!-The foodMy crispy cheese and bacon dog was hot and delicious My wife had the BBQ kalua pork sandwich. There was a nice soft slow heat from the bbq sauce, and the slaw was sweet but not overpowering. The twice fried fries, were delicious and hot but not the crunch I was expecting from a twice fried fry. In their defense, it was very close to closing time and I think they had to cut new fries. We did have wait a bit to get them. AGAIN I and NOT mad at the fries, they were hot and delicious, just not as crunchy as I was expecting. Definitely worth a stop IMO"

The best burrito and out of a food truck! Service is good they are fast and efficient. Behind Wholefoods Kakaako but parking is tuff. This place gets busy, so it's wise to phone your order in prior. So far my favorite burrito in Hawaii. Very comparable to ones I've had in San Francisco!

While in the area we decided to grab a quick dinner at El Palenque. Parking is very sparse- either try your luck with street parking or in the shared lot next to the restaurant. There are only 6 tables inside and 2 were already occupied when we came in. Traditional Mexican music and decor. Though there were lots of takeout orders being handled, our server was attentive and efficient, able to get our orders and check at the end of the meal in a timely manner. We ordered the carne asada fries and Trio wet burrito. The portions of food were great for the price. The steak was pretty good on the fries but there wasn't a lot of it. Same for the burrito. Not a big deal for me, but could be disappointing for the carnivores out there. As dine in customers we also got some complimentary chips and salsa. As previous Yelpers mentioned, their salsa is HOT. If your taste buds are sensitive to spice, it might not be for you. Best to have your water or soda on hand to cool your mouth after a few bites!

Called in an order to pick up. I was able to drive through and pick up, less than 10 minutes after with no wait! I ordered a Fish burrito. I have had fish tacos but never a burrito and was super excited to try it. It was delicious! No fishy smell or nasty fishy taste. So ono! The portions are huge and worth every calorie. Give it a try!

The food is good but not as good as I remember. Portions are good for the price. You cam get fries with the kids meal and they are delish! The hidden gem here is the horchata. Probably one of the best I've had on the island. It's smooth, flavorful and not gritty. Service is meh. Employees wernt that friendly but they were not rude either.

Food: WORTH THE DRIVE from where ever you live. SPICY. DELICIOUS. MOUTH WATERING meats that are nicely smoked. Add the chili onions for extra level of spice. Drizzle those limes onto your tacos/burritos and OH BOY! Honestly you need to try for yourself if you haven't. Tacos can be a hit or miss bc they're so simple but the flavor of the tortilla and the meats made them HIT THE TARGET. Service: cashier was amazing. When it was down time she didn't hesitate to keep the place clean. Regulars will say "see you next week" so you know people keep coming back. Seating can be limited 3 tables for a party of 4. 2 tables for a party of 2 and one table for a party of 6. There is a small bar seating for 5. So plan accordingly. Parking like any place in town is limited but they do phone orders, online orders and grubhub. Also Taco Tuesdays = $3 tacos! Happy Eating Y'all.

This place has a hole in the wall where you can order your food. Or you can go inside and order it. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can find them in the aisle way of Ben Franklin store. They had lots of options, burritos, tacos, and bowls. Options for chicken beef, Kearny Asada, and vegetarian. I ordered the vegetarian burrito that came with rice beans, cheese, sautéed vegetables, Verde sauce and pico de gallo. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito for my husband. They have different specials for the day. The food came out really quickly. The burrito is not large, but it is filling. The service was excellent. The restaurant looked clean. I will be going back.

"Airtight. Lives up to the hype. You know, there's usually a hesitation I have with Mexican food. I know not to expect a lot because I've had authentic Mexican food in California. My friends and relatives will visit us in Hawaii and don't even want to touch the Mexican food we have here. I'm glad I visited Tight Tacos. I'm telling you, get the "There's no good Mexican food in Hawaii" stereotype outta your head. I had chips and salsa and the 3-taco plate that comes with rice and beans. You can mix and match tacos and I chose shrimp, fish, and carne asada. Two words: fish tacos. I've had fish tacos in California. SoCal at that. They were good, but not quite as good as Tight Tacos. The batter was nice and crispy and the thing is, I guess if you've got a really good sauce, you can make anything taste good. These fish tacos have got the sauce right. We also had chips and salsa on the side. They are your standard restaurant chips and salsa. No complaints here. Next to the counter, they have serve yourself salsas, limes, and a red onion relish. The onion relish is spicy. We also got chips and salsa. There are little condiment containers for your convenience and a little fridge full of different flavored Jarritos soda. The customer service was good. They have a small, casual seating area with a few tables and counter seating available that looks onto Waialae Avenue."
"The Olympics; balancing multi live streams with the previous nights content. 80+ hours in an eight hours across four monitors. Barely time to get food so distance matters...1.25 miles / 5 minutes from home.In the hand, warm, girthy, hefty, yearning to release its explosive goodness. Rice, beans, carne asada, pico, sour cream and of course cheese. Your mouth ready? But four visits in:- this one has only rice on one half and all the rest of the fillings on the other.- were they trying to use up all the sour cream? Overloaded!- someone loves cheese. This one has a gram worthy cheese pull. And finally, ordered "wet", delivered in a pond of delicious Italian tomato basil sauce. Take out the burrito, add some Italian sausage and spaghetti, now were talking!Very friendly counter service from the Japanese workers.Inconsistent and doing things differently from the OG Kalihi spot but hey, it's agreeable food in a hurry and sometimes that's enough."
"My sister was talking about this place she had heard about in mililani so we decided to give it a try. At first, i didn't see a "food truck" like everyone was saying it was. So we parked next to Ross and 24 hour fitness and walked towards Starbucks. Noticed the food truck was in a bar area. How cool is that? You walk through a bar and the food truck is in the back. They have a bunch of things on the menu. We decided to get the sliders, kalua pizza and shrimp scampi pizza. Everything was yummy! The shrimp scampi pizza was a little spicy, but it reminded me of the shrimp scampi pizza from bravos. A little suggestion.. maybe cut the shrimp into tiny pieces and spread it out on the pizza. The staff were friendly and gave us suggestions on what their most popular dish was. We definitely will be back when we're in the mililani area."
"happened upon this little spot on a drunken night in Waikiki across the st from Kelley O'Briens bar at like 3 am. Met one of the owners, Tanya is his wife and they are from East coast (cuz had a Baltimore accent from the heavens)! Lots of heart, and lots of patience for the drunk and hungry crowds.Food was incredible, it's literally the best thing to find on a night like that night. Something to sober up with and still be taking care of your body and tastebuds. I almost got the nachos and I'm kicking myself for not after have the house tacos. I don't remember which salsa is which. I asked them to make it spicy and they obliged! Packed with flavor, heat, and authenticity please give them a try! I'd hate to not find them the next time I make it to town."
"First timer and it was so good! Plenty of meat in the tortilla tacos. Very flavorful. The beans and rice were also great. I've been to several Mexican restaurants/Trucks here in Hawaii and the beans and rice are never good! This truck is located in Kapolei behind the Kapolei high school. Plenty of parking available. Will be visiting again!"
"First impressions are modern, welcoming and authentic. Imagine local island atmosphere turned up a notch, fully renovated & impressively clean interior with professional and attentive staff. Ordered a vanilla crown + coke, perfectly crafted & loco moco for dinner. The portion was enormous, $16 for two eggs, 3-4 scoops of rice (estimate) & a 1/2 lb hamburger patty (confirmed) - perfectly cooked with char & drowning in brown gravy. Guaranteed to please, this is everything you're looking for in a loco moco. I would highly recommend this location to locals & visitors alike looking for an enjoyable, high quality local bar experience with delicious & reasonably priced food/beverage(s).+During football season they are open for breakfast, catch your favorite teams playing on their tv's!!"
