"Katsumidori is tucked inside the Prince Waikiki Hotel. We were lucky enough to snag a same day reservation, Can't comment on parking since we walked, but the location itself is easy to get to. Also think they have parking validation if you park at the hotel itself. Salmon Skin Salad (A-): Crispy, flavorful salmon skin. generous portion too. Great for sharing or just snacking on between bites of sushi.Assorted Sushi Yokozuna (A): 13 pieces plus a hand roll, so definitely a good way to try a variety. The jumbo sea eel stood out--different (large piece and a lighter color) from what we've had before, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Assorted Seared Sushi (A+): Five pieces of perfectly seared goodness. Each one had that slightly smoky, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. We have since gone back multiple times to order just this for takeout. Overall, solid sushi spot with quality cuts and good variety. Worth checking out if you're in the area!"

"I've heard that the sushi at Waipuna Sushi is good, so I decided to give it a try myself. They are located near the Manoa Valley Theater and the Manoa Marketplace. As of 8/3/2023, the phone number works (808) 988-1200. Customer service is good. It's a small sushi shop, very mom and pops. There are a few tables inside, nice AC. They have a good variety of sushi offerings in different forms. Temaki, maki mono, nigiri, nigiri bento, hoso maki, noodles and salads, party platters and side orders or bubble drinks. I liked that a few of their maki mono rolls have spicy ahi on top. If you check the menu on their website, (https://waipunasushi.com/), these will have the asterisk next to their names. There are also pictures of the sushi platters online. I tried to take pictures of the pictured menu items as I didn't see a lot of those on Yelp.My friend recommended the "Dynamite Maki" $12.99 with spicy sauce on top. I was really tempted as a lot of the pictures on Yelp are for that maki mono roll. It's gotta be popular for a reason, riiight? Like 2 other people came in after us and also ordered it. It's two shrimp tempura and cucumber rolls (8 pieces total) with spicy ahi on top. I got to try one of the pieces from my friend's roll and it was super delicious!I asked the worker what he recommended and the said his favorite was the "Crunchy Donburi" $13.99 with spicy sauce. I saw this in the pictures on Yelp too! This looked really good and I was happy they still made it, as the picture was from a few years ago. It consists of spicy ahi on a bed of sushi rice. With 4 deep fried rice balls ( c: much cronch) and a choice of tempura, shrimp or vegetable. I went with the shrimp tempura, I think it was one piece cut diagonally in half. The shrimp tempura is freshly fried. I didn't have big expectations coming in but that part made me really impressed (: As I've been to "sushi restaurants" with soggy sad shrimp tempura inside the sushi. I was sorta worried that I didn't order 2 items, because I eat a lot of sushi... Sushi is baaaeee LOL. But I'm glad to report that it was a big portion and I was really full ;D I like that the items were prepared fresh and the ahi quality wasn't bad. It was smothered in a spicy sweet shoyu/ teriyaki sauce, but I really like sauce so I didn't mind.We did take out. The worker packed everything nicely in the bag. Chopsticks, napkins, pickled ginger, wasabi and shoyu. Overall, it's a nice place to grab a quick bite. Prices reflect the portions."

"This place is located in the Uptown food court at Pearl Ridge Shopping Center. The food court seating is limited overall and worse during peak meal times, especially during these Covid19 restrictions. The menu Has a vide variety of stir fry meat and vegetables. You pick your protein, choose 5 veggies to toss into a stir fry and they get cooked right in front of you. Made to order. It's served with a teriyaki sauce over a bed of white rice. Prices are great for what you get and the amount. They have plates, bowls, fried or cold noodles and soups. One of my past favorites is the chicken with egg (oyaku). Flavorful and filling. When you factor in convenience, value and quality, it's one of my favorite take out places in the mall."

Kozo sushi is consistently tasty, I like their sushi rolls, shinko maki and California and cone sushi. Their service is a hit and miss, seems like there is only a cashier and a sushi maker so expect to wait when there is a crowd."

It's so good it could probably convince a lifelong vegetarian to reconsider their life choices. Seriously, it's delicious! Their rolls are good too. However, what I'm not as enthusiastic about is the time it takes to get your food. We waited a good half an hour today for our meal, and it was a to-go order with nobody else in the place. Déjà vu hit me hard because the same thing happened when I was here in April. Honestly, I have more success ordering from them through Uber Eats, which seems ironic, doesn't it? That being said, if you have the time to spare, it's definitely worth the visit. The customer service has always been friendly, which makes the wait a bit more bearable. On a sweeter note, they also have some amazing desserts. My new favorite? The Ube brownie. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out--it's a purple slice of heaven!"

"Saeng's is located in Kailua, next to Formaggio's and the pist office & is our favorite Thai restaurant!Why does it make it our favorite?1. Service- From the hostess to the waitress to the. food server to the waterboy, everyone is so nice and on top of their game.And Kudos to the Chef who gives huge portions, so it's okay to have a little wait for your food!2. Atmosphere- It's not a big restaurant but it transports you to Thailand with their exquisite wood statues and artwork .3. They are the only Thai restaurant ( at least on the Windward side)that makes my favorite dish Mee Krob!!Mee Krob is a Krispy thin noodle dish that seems to be tossed in a sweet plum sauce, garnished with bean sprouts and scallions and is absolutely yummy!!4. Their corkage fee is only $10!!They are closed from 3-5pm and always people waiting to be seated right at 5pm, so reservations are suggested. Also parking is limited, but you can park across the streetIf you haven't try it, you should!"

"What a fun concept...Indeed it really is though this place has been on my long list of places I somehow keep forgetting and am so glad that I didn't remember lol but almost drove right past it as I've been contemplating on dinner for the night. Located on busy Kapahulu in the newly built building along with a few parking making it an easy especially finding street parking here can be tough.Walking up to the restaurant I immediately noticed the outdoor seating which has the chairs chained to the tables...interesting, there's also images of some of the menu items which already has caught my hungry mode and went in to see quite a busy place and since it was about an hour to closing many of the grab and go items we discounted...ooohhh! Out of it all what caught my eye was a Poke bowl layered with salad versus the traditional rice and it was generously topped with spicy ahi and salmon combo originally at $10 was at $8! What a deal though I really came for Kalbi since it's mom's favorite and scanned the menu noticed Naengmyeon & Kalbi Combo which comes with two pieces of Kalbi grilled to a delicious flavorfulness that we both enjoyed (I got just a nibble) the Naengmyeon was the refreshing meal I was craving for without being too heavy though the amount of noodles given was so generous and cooked to a slight al dente perfection. The broth wasn't spicy but had a dollop of spice on top along with daikon, cucumber and half a boiled egg.Everything was packed so nice and thoughtful we really enjoyed it all and will be back again for sure.Thank you!"

"So, we went to the Magical Boo Bash at Pearlridge this past weekend and came across the T8ste Buds food tent. Sushi Tacos? Hmmm.. definitely different and caught our attention. So we had to check it out.We ordered the Spicy Tuna Tacos and also got the Kim Chee Tofu & Cali Crab to try. Let me get serious here for a little bit guys. Please believe me when I say, I was immediately transformed at the very first bite. Talk about sushi taco heaven. First off, the presentation was absolutely pleasing to the eye. As you take your first bite, the crunch of the taco, which consists of deep fried rice paper & nori, was just....perfection. The sushi filling itself, sends you on a flight straight to flavor town. Pure Genius if you ask me. The kim chee tofu taco is a great choice for all you Vegans. I would order that again just for the flavor alone. The spicy tuna had the perfect yummy amount of spice that I like. And the Cali Crab...yup..scrumptious and loaded with crab. These culinary masterminds at T8ste Buds know exactly what they're doing! "So happy this place is still around. It's been my first time back this year. Their spicy ahi is always a go to. I always get their spicy ahi nigiri but this time I got their bowl. Never had it before and I wasn't disappointed.It doesn't actually come in a bowl but in a plate. There is a bed of rice under the layer of lettuce. It's topped with the spicy ahi and cucumber. On the side you get wasabi and ginger with a packet of kikkomon shoyu.The spicy ahi isn't spicy to begin with but it's the type of heat that lingers in your mouth and builds up. But still absolutely can't stop setting it and craving it the next day. They do both take out and indoor dinning. They have a lot of grab and go snacks, icecream, two fridges full of drinks. They even offer party platters at reasonable prices. Their menu is very extensive and full of sushi but they do have meat and breakfast options as well.Parking is right up front or on the side of the building is visitors parking although it's a bit tight. Definitely call ahead and just pick up front."

Delicious and good to the last drop! I'd order this again!!My lunch mate chose the kakiage soba in hot broth. "The new normal, taking out during COVID19.Ahi on the Wharf is located on Ala Moana Blvd at Fisherman's Wharf. They have a few parking stalls available right in front, so its super easy to grab and go. We decided to try the Furikake Salmon Plate ($14) and Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl ($6). The Salmon plate was ono! The fish was cooked perfectly and served with rice and salad. The Poke Bowl on the other hand was little underwhelming for us. It came with very little poke and was not spicy at all. At least the salmon plate was good :DA huge MAHALO to Ahi on the Wharf for operating during this pandemic."

I always see a line outside their door so they must be good. They only allow 2 people in at a time to pick-up orders or to place an order. I waited outside. When it was my turn I looked over the menu and planned on ordering several items. I was hungry and excited because I was trying a new sushi place. I asked the lady working what their most popular maki roll was... she gave me this look and pointed to the Superman sushi pictured. I said ok. Then I asked if she could recommend a crunchy roll...(she is not looking at me at this time) and then says, crunchy is crunchy and points to another picture. I felt like she couldn't be bothered. She was rude. So I just ordered one Superman maki and that was it. I shouldn't have ordered anything with an attitude like that. I was disappointed because this was first time there. The sushi taste was okay. It seemed fresh. The presentation needs work. Sushi looked messy. I was expecting a shoyu packet and some ginger with the sushi. Nope, nada, nothing, Aohe......Thank God I got a napkin and hashi.I MAY give this place another try. I'd like to order other items on the menu but if their customer service is the same it's a No go!"

Plus...I was so hangry and I wanted to eat something that was going to make my 'opu (stomach) happy and full. My friend decided to ordered this as well. When the loco moco arrived, we were in awe on the portion size of it! Omgeeee! It was pretty BIG and it looked so good.Let me tell you, as I took each bite of this "divine" dish, I was doin' the ...HAPPY DANCE with my fork! I savored each bite until my plate was clean! The hamburger patties were homemade...nothing processed here. It was moist, tender and so flavorful. The gravy was...AMAZING and my eggs were cooked just as I requested. So, if you LOVE ...LOCO MOCO and wanna try the...BEST... in my opinion, lol. Go and drive out to THE CLUBHOUSE located at the Mililani Golf Course. You'll thank me for that!"

"I was able to get a reservation for my friend and I last minute and I'm so glad I did! Fukurou was a bit confusing to get to so we walked around for a bit until we found Buho and then they directed us to Fukurou's entrance.The food is so good! We went through several courses and the quality of all the pieces were fantastic. Our favorite was the kan-buri so we opted to revisit that one in the end. The chawanmushi with crab roe was also really good too. Miki and her assistant were super kind and Miki explained each course before we were about to eat it. The place is super intimate so unfortunately the people you're seated with kind of matters. The group next to us was a bit loud and you could really hear every bit of their conversation.I highly recommend coming to Fukurou to try it out! Will be back if I can snag another reservation."

I picked out Oyster Hale by Crush as our first dinner as I wanted a non-touristy local spot that had a feeling of home and that's what you get here.As you enter you immediately see the seating bar and 3 tables. That's it. Highly recommend making reservations. The one thing this place is known for is their oyster shooters. We ordered both Uni and Caviar Oyster shooters. 3 each hit the spot as our first course.Next we ordered the fresh made ahi poke which was so tender the ahi melted in your mouth. Served with lettuce and sweet onions you could make this your main dish or share like we did. We then ordered the Diamond Head Roll which was fantastic and the uni and caviar on top is a great match and perfect complement to this roll.I asked which sake they would recommend that was sweet as most sake is not sweet like we think of but they pointed me to the Hana Peach Sake and wow it was fantastic. Tasted like a peach cooler of sorts with non of that high alcohol flavor. At 8% ABV you won't be getting a buzz so no worries there.I believe this is a husband wife duo and he is the only chef and she is the only server, dish washer, front of the house person. Balancing fish and seasoning. All the ingredients were exceedingly fresh. The service is also great. The chef chats with you as you eat in a non intrusive pace. Ever since my husband & I splurged on Michelin star omakase sushi hasn't been the same, but Sushi ii is just as amazing and def didn't burn the wallet too hard. Parking was a bit challenging since the restaurant is in a tiny strip. There are a lot of restaurants around that looked appealing that I'd like to try in the future. I wonder how businesses around here survive since there's barely any parking to accommodate hungry people. But I guess if the food is good, people are willing to walk right? Everything we ordered was delicious. The beef cheek reminded me of a melt in your mouth bolognese pasta. As for fish? Excellent quality, not fishy, and worth every dollar. I always judge a spot by their spicy ahi so I opted for their $15 "bowl" which comes with side of soup. It's served more as a bento with rice and a side of potato salad and fish cake. The spicy ahi was not very good. I think the fish wasn't fresh based on the texture."
