"Tasty but portions r incredibly SMALL! Like...what am I? I little kid? lol. For $19 I could buy a couple New York steaks! Instead, I got a few slices sirloin..overcooked...and some lettuce. Blah!"
"Food a bit priced not gonna lie. Ordered fhe salmon dish. Fantaaaaastic served with mash potatoes (for once!!!!!!(most restaurants serve salmon with rice - so siiiick of rice w/ every meal!!!)) (I get it - Not in my home turf where potatoes was 1/4 - 1/2 the time on the menu in one form or another) Please keep serving beautiful potatoes!!! Now can I just go back to those potatoes? I savored that flavor of the fried skin too W/ the potatoes more than ever - even now I just wanna go get some mashed potatoes a la fried salmon skin!!!! and some truffle butter and a bottle of chardonnay and i will be QUEEN! (for a few minutes before I possibly get dragged away (didn't happen folks)) - that mead me to many other questions that would probably not be allowed here. Ok of course the spears were to die for and paired with the lovely little pettle morsels - was really quite eye opening!Desert - MJ came truly back from the grave on a slate plate - encased in glass cover and was all foggy inside. Alas, server removed the lid to quickly and to my THRILLER delight had this in front of me!!! C'mon ya know the song ya know the moves ya know that deep voice......Bobus ya get to keep the syringe (that may be questionable for your dining experience, the the Frankenstein hand!!! Solid ding is they only had a Lefty hand - ummm is it right cost then if they don't carry right handed frankenstein hands (woulda mad it complete if the right side was coming out with the main course and the lefty on desert?) (hint hint wink wink) Now my major ding to these folks - as great and awesome as they are - they have t moved forward to electronic paying tabs!!!!!!! Get updated folks!!! I had to run baaaack to my hotel come baaaack with my wallet when my banking info is ON my phone!!!! Everywhere else can do e-pay; move forward with the times. Bar tender was good, hustling a lot to get everyone covered."

"This location is at Pearl City Gateway Mall INSIDE Foodland farms! Same shopping Center with Longs, Tj Maxx, and Dunkin donuts. Across the street from Pearl City Walmart. Because this is inside foodland farms and you know the area, parking is always tight and busy. BUT since this is located within the shoping center, just don't mind the walk! I've came here multiple times for take out. Whether we're stopping here tentionally for lunch/dinner OR after some grocery shopping grabbing some plates on our way out. Food choices are bomb. Including with scoop rice and a choice of salad (toss, potato, etc). For main dishes they have steak, garlic shrimp, garlic chicken, loco moco, shoyu chicken, burgers, and more! My go to is always steak with toss salad and possibly a plus one. They offer 2 choice or 3 choice combos! With your steak they offer side of sauces: Teriyaki | Garlic Butter | Horseradish | Kim Chee | Lilikoi BBQ | Chimichurri.... my go to is the garlic butter. I love to just smear it onto the steak at home so it adds flavor to every bite. Their plate range from about $12-$15. Food wait time is typically fast. I've ordered 1-6 plates at one time and waited no longer than 10-15 min. Reason for the 4 star rating is their customer service. My experience there always changes. From whoever is taking my order sometimes their not always consistent or sometimes our order is wrong. Even if its a missing drink, its still a missing item. Before the pandemic they did have counter spaces with few chairs or an open eating area to the side of the cash registers to have your lunch/din-house! house! But of course it is take out only (which is what I've always done). Will always come back for when I want a fast plate of steak and some every once in a while."
"The food is great, the atmosphere is chill (they have both inside and outside seating) but the thing that really stands out to me is their customer service. In the heart of Waimanalo, they really exemplify the aloha spirit. Generous and kind to locals and tourists alike. I love coming here and supporting local businesses like this."
"Great place to grab a quick bite of steak and shrimp with rice and salad. I think they have fish too. a great crew, they cook the steak just the way you want it, and plenty of sauces.I just wish they'd bring the music back. For everyone involved I don't know why they don't have music there. More Music = More Happy = Better BusinessOr crank up the TV. It's not a library is it."
"Have heard a lot about this place so I was excited to try. We went about 5ish and there was a line, but luckily the wait wasn't too bad. I got the combo plate which included chicken, steak, salad, and rice. First off, I was blown away by the great prices! Especially since it is in Waikiki where food is so expensive. Here, you can get a good meal for under $20 which is a steal in my book.I was also surprised that the steak and chicken were both really good quality. Although I had one grisly piece of steak I couldn't chew, all the other pieces of steak and chicken were tender. The main down fall the meat (both chicken and steak) is incredibly peppery. So, if you don't like black pepper, i wouldn't come here. Luckily, the teriyaki-type sauce they give you on the side helped add much needed sweetness to the plate.Overall though, if you are in the area and hungry, this is a solid and affordable place to grab lunch to eat on the beach or take back to your hotel."
"It was my first time eating here. The food was pretty good. I got the steak and scallop combo. They food is made fresh to order. The cashier takes your order and yells it over to the cook, who then grills your food. My order came with two thin pieces of steak and four pieces of scallops. The scallops are seasoned with cayenne pepper and a bit of Tabasco. It had just a minor kick to it. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium well and it was. It had a nice seasoning to it. The sides it came with were corn, mixed veggies and mashed potatoes with gravy. Was it worth the $19? It's the Ala Moana Food Court where everything is overpriced."
"Lei Lei's Bar and Grill has a big advantage over many other bars, the location is gorgeous.Lei Lei's overlooks the Arnold Palmer designed golf course at Turtle Bay which gives it the perfect setting to have a great meal.Unfortunately the food lets you down. The Prime Rib is average at best as it lacks any depth in flavor and presentation. The calamari steak is dry and lackluster and is disappointing. The service is average and the wait to get in is not worth it. At the end of the day Lei Lei's is very expensive and offers poor food and average service."
"Ordered the Garlic Shrimp combo. Comes with two scoops of rice, small salad and three pineapple wedges. Didn't think it would be enough. But it was just the right portion. Everything was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this spot."
"Saved up money to take out behbeh girl to a birthday dinner at Bali Oceanfront. Heard this was the spot to see the fireworks from the Hilton Jawaiian Village. Thought would be romantical, but the seat we got only could see half of the firework show. The server that we had was one prankstah, but good thing he was funny or else he would've got the soup soup. I got the steak and was hammaz, behbeh girl got the shrimp ravioli and that was hammaz. The place was clean with the cool Hawaiian breeze. Time to head to Valor and skank. Shoots"
"10.15.24 a group get together for dinner at Texas De Brazil. This was my first time to this particular restaurant. Fortunately, it was a get together for a invite and so I had decided to attend on the day. That's a very important day one time out of the year..... my I did hear many things about this buffet and so it was a really good opportunity to see what it was all about .The service was very good. They had given us time to get drinks, and so service had went around and they attended to every single table as you can tell by the one picture there's three tables which had about maybe 20 people to each table and saw they had a huge group and we had been attended to quite nicely. I had ordered a Sauvignon Blanc And it was there a particular brand of wine for the restaurant so I guess it would be called the house wine. It was a good thing that I did pick the white because they're cold buffet had a lot of things that. Really nicely with that wine such as. - roasted cous cous salad, fresh roasted beats I'm kind of olive oil marinate, sliced not shaven Parmesan, sliced salmon, red and white onion slivers, sautéed mushrooms, fresh tabouli salad, white sauce potatoes at gratin, shrimp salad, Brie (a whole wheel) hearts of palm cut in long diagonals... ((All the things you see on my plate)) the waiters and waitresses were very accommodating. They were going around and they also had to deliver fries to the table, garlic, mashed potatoes to the table and some thing that had been rolled in cinnamon and sugar and it was banana, so I think it was like a banana fosters without the pudding. They seem to want to come around and collect the tickets when you're ready for your next drink, but the thing is they didn't come around enough times to serve water. We had one person at our table that was drinking, a lot of water and the waiters or the waitresses took a while to come back when we told them about three times, but other than that it was pretty busy for them they may have been going around and other people had requested things and what not so I give them a pass on that it's really hard to help 60 people when you have a lot of people requesting for things.in a sense that salad bar that they have is in my opinion very good even without the meat. I didn't even get any lobster bisque because there was just so much good cold food. I probably could've eaten just that portion. If I could just guess maybe I could try to ask them later, if there's a cost for eating without having any meat I have been on a pescatarian diet for a long time and I've only just implemented eating meat once every other week. Fortunately, that was that night on the 15th.I wouldn't mind returning, if given the chance .."

Say HI to the place with pretty bomb.com meatloaf! Starla - you're at a steak place and you're getting meat loaf?? Yeah. So?Located in the Pearl City Foodland Farms, immediately to the left as you enter the store, you can say "hi" to HI Steaks!I have to say, I was very impressed and liked the meatloaf! It was flavorful and garlicky. It tasted like it was homemade. I wish I could make meatloaf that good! It came with rice, egg, a dark yummy gravy and a onion rings like topper. I've gotten a steak plate once but I'm a little spoiled and like ribeye...so all I can say is that the steak wasn't ribeye...which is why I got the meatloaf. It came with a garlic butter. It really is GARLIC butter which I like but it could've used a little more seasoning.Overall, the plates was pretty heavy and worth the price. Service and getting the food was pretty fast when I went. It was faster than Panda across the street! Side note: while you're waiting for food...the booze isle and check stands close by! Grab a drink that you can enjoy with your food.If you're needing something for dinner or in the area, be sure to check them out!

Cute little restaurant on an inside road just off the main road in a neighborhood. Staff were so nice to talk to and didn't make a fuss when I messed up my order. We ordered our meals to go and ate in on the beach near by. The steak was well cooked and the shrimp was succulent and fresh. Super yum. We had a side of garlic fries that were crunchy and hot. The Mac And potato was ok. Over all pretty good I would say.

Took the new Honolulu Skyline from the Stadium to Waipahu to check it out since it's new and free this weekend. We were going to Seafood City but saw Ono Steak & Shrimp 2 and wanted to try it out for lunch. My wife and I shared the 12oz steak & Shrimp and was very happy with our order. The order was really good, the steak was cooked medium as requested and was seasoned perfectly and tender & juicy. The shrimp was really good and just enough for the both of us. The plate lunch came with rice and salad as well and it was enough for two people.Leona helped us out and she was awesome and very friendly and helpful and it was nice to talk story with her. Her husband was doing the cooking and dude was working his tail off. The kitchen was hot and orders kept coming and he kept the food flowing, great job. I really appreciated the professionalism and outstanding service from this sweet couple. I'll definitely return for some tasty grinds.

Steak Shack is a small beach stand at the back of the Outrigger Waikiki Reef hotel. They offer plates that come with organic greens and rice and a protein option (steak and/or chicken). When I had visited they were out of chicken. There is usually a line about 10 to 15 people deep, and once you order it takes another 15 to 25 minutes for your order to be prepared.Steak plate (14 oz) - $23 - I asked for my steak to be prepared medium rare and when my order was finally ready it had a nice peppery flavor to it. They provide some soy sauce on the side to elevate the flavors. I also told them to skip the rice, so they were happy to substitute the rice with more greens. For my greens I went with an Italian dressing, although they also have thousand island.Overall I was impressed with the quality of food here. Pricing for the other steak plates are as follows: 6oz ($13), 10 oz ($18), 12 oz ($20), 14 oz ($23). 6 oz of a chicken plate is $12 and they also offer a steak and chicken combo for $17.

Where can you find good steak? If you're one of those people, a good steak can be found in a food court. Behold! At Ala Moana Shopping center. It's not uncommon to find a steak shop in a mall food court, but normally you would go to a steakhouse for a mean quality cuddle beef, that would satisfy even the most picky of eaters. I discovered this place while wandering around the Ala Moana shopping center food court, first floor to decide whether or not to eat at my spot or deciding on something else in food court. Who doesn't like a nice cut of beef, especially when it's made to order? Well, there's Steak & Company and Lahaina Chicken Company. Both in the Ala Moana 1st Floor food court and both serve prime rib steak. Or at least steak. I decided to venture over and see what's up. First of all, both are competitive in prices with combo meals that go for $20 per meal, roughly what Lahaina Chicken Co does. Only thing about Steak and Co is that they offer shrimp and scallops as part of their combo. Surf and turf! For my experience, I decided to get the shrimp and ribeye combo, which seems to be somewhat satisfying to me. Spending $20 at Ala Moana food court seems to be the norm here - at least for the places I go to in the food court. Let's be clear though, it's steak from a food court. Nothing more or less without the traditional steakhouse upcharging and gratuity that's traditionally involved with the restaurant paradigm. The overall experience here at the Steak & Fish Company - Ala Moana shopping center was pleasant and typical. Its food court fare that is basically classes up the rest of the food court with its steak and seafood offerings. It's steak and seafood or just steak if you prefer, without the ambiance of the traditional steakhouse. Works for me since I don't want to get up charged for a piece of delicious steak. The steak I ordered that afternoon for lunch was prepped rare since I love rare steak. Very chewy and decadent for a steak. The scallops was good and cooked with delicate care. It was the perfect combo for a serendipitous Saturday in 2024 January. While $20 for just lunch can be pricey for some people, I guess you get what you pay for these days. The quality of the meat is good and the menu was limited. The service was good and friendly, even though it was just order and pick up. Everything was made to order so you'd get a freshly cooked meal every time and everything is just right, instead of how Lahaina Chicken does. Either way works but I liked the quality and taste better when they fire each steak versus slicing up one from a master piece and putting it on your take out container. That's the difference between these two eateries in the 1st floor Ala Moana center food court. The ambiance of the food court is typical for Ala Moana, which is usually crowded during the weekends as it is. The steak was very delicious and definitely a nice alternative to the usual stuff I would buy at the food court. Definitely something to think about preparing your meals at the Ala Moana shopping center. if you like steak, or want your daily fix of meat, consider coming to Steak & Fish Company. You may find your hidden gem here at the fraction of the traditional steakhouse and terms of price. I'd recommend it if you don't know any other places that serve steak in Honolulu.Steak & Fish Company is located in the 1st Floor Food Court at Ala Moana shopping center near the Jack in the Box and Jolibee restaurants. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, Ala Moana shopping center boasts a very generous helping of parking slots, just because they are the largest shopping center complex in Hawaii. You have no trouble finding parking here. For the most part, though, it was a good experience here since a good ribeye steak is never something you would pass up. If you are like me, many bus routes start and end at Ala Moana shopping center. Choose the right route that best for your situation. And so, if you like good steak, consider coming here and it basically you had a good and decent price. While a food court offering, you best that it is a pretty good deal for what you're getting discounts were pretty tasty too, although I don't have them often. They are open for lunch and dinner. Nothing like having a big old fancy steak on any given day. Give this place a try and maybe it's a hidden gem for you. The jury is still out for me but I enjoyed myself and I'll probably be back because I always love the food since I'm around Ala Moana shopping center regularly on weekends when I'm not traveling anyways. Where is my A1 steak sauce?4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the location. 3.5 stars for the food court ambiance and service. 4.0 stars for the steak combo.Support local!B

3 StarsThe food was okay, nothing too special. We were seated quickly, which was nice, but the ordering process was a bit weird. They made us order before sitting down, but the people who came in after us didn't have to? That felt a little weird. That said, the staff was friendly, and it was a nice evening to sit outside, so the atmosphere was good. Just not sure I'd rush back.

"Lunch at Empire Steak House... in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii was a fantastic experience!Donna O. did the research:The Power Lunch (special) starts at 11:45am and ends at 3pm. It's a great deal for $39.95 because of the stellar view, quality meals, and great service! Located on the 30th Floor of the Ilikai Hotel, Empire Steak House is part of a chain which has three locations in New York and one in Japan. This Honolulu location used to house Pesca Restaurant. PARKING: we used the valet service. It totaled just $6 with validation.Julia was our efficient, competent, professional server. She was very helpful, friendly, and patient! She made excellent suggestions and gave us a delicious complimentary Tiramisu birthday dessert! Thank you so much!I ordered the moist, tender Grilled Salmon. It was preceded by complimentary fresh focaccia bread. We used the bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar that was on our table (after we finished off the butter) - yummy! My meal came with Sautéed broccoli and mashed potatoes... everything was cooked to perfection!Power Lunch comes with coffee or tea and a starter - I got the Fresh Mozzarella with Beefsteak Tomatoes... very fresh and healthy!I highly recommend the Power Lunch! I'd go again and get the Beef Short Rib and Calamari that Donna ordered! Thank you for letting me taste your lunch, Donna... and thank you for a wonderful lunch!Note: there's a private room with a better view at the other end of the glass wall... I'm going to inquire and reserve it for our next gathering!"
"I wanted to try this place for an early dinner. I got the steak and chicken plate combo which comes with two scoops of white rice and a side salad and I got ranch to go on top. The steak was soft and needed some sauce because it was a tad tasteless. They had sauces up front but I didn't get any. Regardless it tasted decent. My daughter ate my other half because she was hungry so I gave her half of mine. She liked it. Service was pretty quick. I didn't wait long for my food. I didn't buy any drinks from here. They had Pepsi products which I dislike. I'm a Coke fan. Located inside the mall at the food court at Windward mall. Not bad. I would try other plates served here."
"I would give a rating of 3.5 stars. It's not a 3 star but it's not quite a 4 star. We ordered the clam linguine, pork chop, filet and crab pasta. For sides we had twice baked potato, creamed spinach and garlic potatoes. For appetizers we had the small seafood platter and crab cakes. The appetizers were good. The entrees were ok we didn't think it was anything special especially for the price . I would have to say the desserts were the best. We ordered panacotta, tiramisu and tart. All were delicious.Service was ok nothing spectacular One thing I will say is it's very loud in the restaurant and for some reason it's hard to hear what your server is saying also hard to hear what my party was saying also. Kept having to ask them to repeat themselves.I like to try new places and so I am glad I got to try Cino. Would I come back again? Probably not"
"So darn good. The cocktails were strong and unique and with some really interesting liquors. The treatment from when we first arrived was very welcoming and went well with the uniqueness of this restaurant. We started with the fist bump caviar and then moved onto so many interesting and delicious appetizers. And those scallops -- divine. Our server was there to fully explain every detail of each meal including the truffle seasonings. The waghyu steak was cooked just right to my happy taste buds. I would definitely return to this place over and over again. It was amazing."
"Great attentive service. Porkchops seem to be the Best value in my opinion. $19.50 for two generous pieces. Yakisoba's both garlic and shoyu flavors were a bit bland. But it was still a satisfying starch to complement the meats. Everything is Ala cart. Majority of items can be shareable/family style. No one ordered the expensive wagyu, so bill came out to around $150 for 5 people."
"We actually went to The Whiskey Hole by Aoki Teppanyaki. Upon our arrival Laura greeted us with a smile and several times our conversations with her brought smiles to us. We had the Ginger Old Fashion and the Butterfly Saketini. Laura described every part of these delicious treats. She treated us as if we were family. We will be back! Free photo was offered by a third party vendor added to our special time."
"For #2000, of course, this needs to be an epic one. Highly anticipated after trying to dine here more than a year ago, I joined some local friends and my travel friend for an early Tuesday dinner. Our friends who drove us here were skeptical knowing Waikiki's parking situation. They were pleasantly surprised that complimentary valet parking (do remember to tip them, please). Entering and after checking in, we were led to the upper dining room on the ground level. After being seated, we were given menus. There was garlic bread (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=MjrIe1Dq4hIhqiBmVzX-qQ) that was provided on the table. After studying and discussing the menu, we had an idea of what we wanted to try. As our waiter introduced himself and his assistant to us, he also told us the specials. As we asked questions and shared our thoughts, he offered a suggestion to satisfy what we wanted to eat. I started with a Lilikoi cooler (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=EOJ1umNdDvP1w1K6cPTQNQ) as suggested also by him. I enjoyed this but didn't want to sip it too quickly. Refreshing and sweet, I'd get this again. For the food portion,, we decided to dine family style aside from the soup which one diner agreed to share with me.Here is what I tried, all shared:1. French onion soup, half order (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=zAV_jJEBYXk6h0fk1DGSbw) - Caramelized onion, Gruyere, Mozzarella, Parmesan. Just as I hoped, the broth had a balance of onions and soup. My favorite part of this is always the cheese topping and the bar is set by the degree of browning. This hit the spot.2. Escargot a la Hy's (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=-x3xC7fdUWnk_uHAstgWow) - Signature escargot butter, Housemade herb bread. Our local friends never tried western style snails before. They enjoyed this and we dipped the provided bread to soak up the pesto like butter sauce after eating them. I was okay with this as it didn't wow me.3. Steak Delmonico, medium rare (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=35YqYkVDf5ZhYp5EmGFw_A) - 16, oz. This is a ribeye cut that was cooked at the right temperature (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=rlgWxrYnA4bkptcOTQrvxA) and was still warm when I dug in. Our waiter sliced table side this after presenting it first. Tender and juicy, I used the provided steak sauce for a flavor change occasionally.4. Porterhouse steak for two, medium rare (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=_9hs4ELl8vFbcNqN7-c1tg) - 32 oz. This was cooked also the right temperature (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=yjAWG92ezwCA0NmvEcUz_w). The tenderloin portion was as described, fork tender. The NY steak portion was hearty yet not tough. 5. Baked potato, loaded with no butter (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=Zq6dwU1fZLkVh-GzqM7haA) - Cooked perfectly, after enjoying the loaded portion, I even finished my favorite part, the skin of my spud.6. French fries, shared (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=JIfr9qG2WbxIP0J26zpciw) - What's not to like about hot fries?! I stole a few pieces, dipping them in the provided ketchup.7. Bananas foster, shared (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=2rV3WF4G1iyRrA78A8ifpQ) - Bananas, orange, cinnamon, Creme de Banane, orange Curacao, dark rum. What a show! A signature dessert, we couldn't help but order this. As advertised, we learned why it is a signature. It was so good that I was tempted to order the day's special dessert, Cherries Jubilee but everyone was full.As we entered, one of the staff pointed out where the grill master cooked our steaks. Being curious after our meal and using the restroom, I made my way to the room and took a few photos. He gave me a shaka as I stood there, watched, and took photos. Big thanks to our waiter Kuni for his cheerful and professionalism in guiding us through our meal. As mentioned, he also created our dessert. Big thanks to Jeremy for tending to our needs, filling our water glasses and removing plates and used utensils. All the servers throughout the three dining rooms greeted me with smiles whenever I walked by. Looking for an old school feel and a wonderful dining experience? Look no further."
"Small establishment but very crowded with guest waiting. I hope it's delicious. Steak was medium like how I like it, was delicious! Teriyaki sauce on the side made it even better!"
"We finally made it over to The Cutlery for an early Valentine's Day meal. I can't believe it's been here in Kaimuki for 3 years already. We decided to share everything. We ordered steamed clams, pulehu tako, 16oz ribeye, duck fat fries, and crispy brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious. The clams came with a broth you would just want to drink. We got some extra bread to soak it up with but I wasn't crazy about it. The bread was toasted but too hard. The pulehu take was so flavorful and sliced. Very convenient. The brussel sprouts were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The stars tonight were the ribeye, which was perfectly medium rare with a nice char on the outside, and the duck fat fries, which were amazingly crispy without being dry or hard. My husband had a coffee which was the best he's had! They serve it with a frothy/foamy top. It's the attention to detail that makes these dishes special. The service is top notch. Our server was so helpful, welcoming, and pleasant. Although the atmosphere is dark and intimate, like a steakhouse, it isn't an uptight, stuffy feel. Because it's dark, the menu lights up when opened. That was fun! Plus, they were thoughtful enough to cut up our steak pupu style! We didn't have dessert but we are down to come back on a prime rib night (friday, saturday, sunday). Plus, there's free parking in the back!"
"I have to say how much I love this place, the food, the ambience, the chefs and the staff. Every time I come in I feel so special. The excellence that happens here is far above any tourist type restaurant. As a local, Tanaka is my go-to spot for special occasions and visiting friends and ohana. Thank you always to everyone. "After reading the reviews, we decided to try this place. Was a little difficult to find, so you'll want to look for the Jack in the Box and the Bank of Hawaii. (Its in that area of the shopping center)Daughter ordered the shrimp pasta and loved it. Shrimps were colossal size, almost as big as my lobster tail! She said it was delicious!I ordered the Rib-Eye steak and Lobster tail. Lobster was a nice size for the price and cooked well. It came with a 10oz Rib-Eye, which was unfortunately over cooked. (I ordered Medium and it was served Well-done) Could have been more seasoned in my opinion, but still good nonetheless. For desert, we got the crème Brule. Delicious and a big portion! Will be back, but I think if I order the steal again, I'll ask for rare, and hopefully get Medium. Haha!"
"From start to finish, the service was outstanding, with Jasmine and the manager on duty providing attentive and welcoming care. The drinks and food were equally impressive. The Paniolo Mule cocktail and Omakase beer were refreshing, and paired perfectly with the complimentary edamame. We enjoyed a variety of small plates, including the Pansit (which was a delightful twist on the traditional dish, just as we'd been warned), Brussels sprouts, spring roll, manila clams (definitely a must have), ribs, and spicy roll. All were fantastic. I also appreciated the pacing of the meal; the dishes were spaced out perfectly. To top it all off, the complimentary birthday dessert was a thoughtful and unexpected touch."
"We had dinner here with family during the holidays (2024). We ordered prime steaks, wagyu, salmon with fried rice. It was an awesome dinner and it was worth the wait. The chef was personable, funny and great entertainer. He kept us entertained while we waited for our dinner orders. It took him about 45 minutes to prep everyone's dinner. I was feeling hungry and starving , my stomach was growling and I ate everything on my plate because the Wagyu was excellent! Everyone finished their dinner with no complaints. The ambiance was crowded, people were enjoying their moments with family and friends, too many commotions. This is a very busy steakhouse joint that rocks!"
"Oh man! This food truck rocks! Ate their food three times from Waianae, not Kahuku. It's a truck...so it's mobile but there's only one Yelp listing... Ate the chicken stroganoff twice and sauteed ono once. Wifey had hamburger steak twice and loco moco once. All were delicious! The owner clearly loves to cook and is very helpful and friendly. Super glad the operate out of Waianae frequently. Have to admit that I am sad I didn't have their food for our final O'ahu 2024 dinner. But, I do know where I will be eating frequently upon my next trip to O'ahu"
"We ate at Tanaka of Tokyo Ala Moana during Christmas/New Years holiday with family. Their menu was excellent. We ordered and ate variety of prime steaks, wagyu, salmon with fried rice. The chef was excellent entertainer/cook. He tried to entertain us with his local monologue and combine it with little comedy while we waited for our food orders. It took him 30 to 40 minutes to get everyone's dinner ready. I was starving and so I ate everything that was on my plate. Steak was tasty and delicious. I was satisfied because my tummy said so, I was full. The service was awesome. Everyone was busy trying to accommodate local patrons as well as tourists. Reservation is a must or you will wait forever (seriously!), otherwise this place rocks! The ambience there is a lot of commotions."
"This was our first visit to this location. We came in the day after Valentine's Day. It was pretty busy but luckily my husband made reservations a few days before. The hostess was really friendly and checked us in right away and only a few seconds after, we were seated at our table. The table was small but it was just enough for two. Although I wasn't too happy with the space between each table, it was still a really nice atmosphere. But it is dimly lit, so if you have a hard time seeing in the dark I would recommend bringing a flashlight or using your phone to look at the menu. Our server was Shantel. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and made great recommendations. She was so attentive for refilling our drinks and made sure our food was up to our expectations. The food and appetizers that we have were delicious! Just a heads up the fried zucchini was very good but it does have a spice bite to it so be careful. I love spice so it didn't bother me. And the sauce was so good! All in all, everything we had and experienced was top notch. We will be coming back because of Shantel's excellent service! Maybe in March for a couple of birthdays coming up."
"Happy hour review. Very good at this price point (roughly half off). I recommend getting a HH steak of your choice with a side of mash to start and go from there. The steak is quality and you can tell. The mashed potatoes are amazing. You can tell they loaded them up with cream and butter. The garlic fries are also very good; thin and crisp. Worth a try even if they're merely discounted and not half off like other things. Skip the steak tips and mushrooms. They're stir fried in shoyu so they're pretty one note and not at the level of other items. Beautiful view at any time of the day."
"We have always had great experiences with Buzz's. Really good drinks and the entrees are delicious. We've come as a family with kids included as well at date nights and have had great service."
"The service here was incredible. Our waiter, Timothy was absolutely wonderful. We started off asking about the lobster rolls and he told us we could easily order them without chives as they are made to order. It's hard to get lobster rolls without chives or green onions. The lobster bisque was delicious but the standout was the seafood platter. There was so much crab meat."
"Dinner in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii...Searching our Yelp apps, Irene and I found this Hot New Business called:The Butcher Bar by Aloha Steakhouse Located at the Marine Surf Waikiki Hotel, The Butcher Bar utilizes the meats and marrow that its sister restaurant, Aloha Steakhouse, would normally throw away. We did see Aloha Steakhouse across the way from The Butcher Bar.The Butcher Bar is a casual, open-air venue. We sat at the bar, near the air conditioning vent (above). We appreciate the purse hooks along the bar!We decided to share the Stuffed Portobello mushroom (not on the menu), the Petite Wedge Salad, and the Tenderloin Sliders - two thinly sliced filet mignon with caramelized onions and garlic mayo. They were served with House cut fries - yum! Everything was delicious and had beautiful presentation! We didn't have a reservation, but we waited at the door (before opening time), so we were the first customers of the day!Thank you to our server! She was a young, efficient, competent gal who really knew the menu and which items were Happy Hour specials! Thanks for the Kama'aina discount and for refilling our water glasses with orange and mint infused water!"
"Being a Lone Ranger on island at Christmas, I decided to take myself out to a nice Christmas dinner. I sat at the bar with my reservation and had a very nice Cabernet to go with my absolutely delicious chicken Parmesan and spaghetti. The service itself was great. 3 different servers consistently attended to me which was very pleasing. The dessert finished off very well with my wine as well. The ambiance was very holiday visitor vibe but the staff was great at hosting at a great level. Thank you for a great ending to my solo Christmas Formaggio's!"
"Food was prepared fast and it was good. I had a good service. The portion is a good size so one is enough for very hungry person or two meals for me. Probably we got the Ultimate Mix Plate. Ultimate Mix Plate, you can choose 3 choices from steak, BBQ chicken, garlic chicken, garlic shrimp, house smoked meat, hose smoked pork candy bacon. Choice of white or brown rice, and green salad or potato salad. There are eating area right by this place. It's also eating area for the Foodland customer. It's inside the Ala Moana Foodland. Located right after the coffee shop."
"Amazing food and service! All of the food was great. I enjoyed the salad, which came with the steak order. We got to try both the strawberry and mango dressings and the strawberry was good but the mango was AMAZING. We also ended up putting some of that dressing on the crab cake and it paired so well. We ordered the bone in ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and was served with 3 types of salt - wasabi, rosemary, and yuzu. There was a subtle different in the flavor and I loved that you can season it to your preference. The sides were all good and I especially loved the mashed potatoes. The sizing of the sides are shareable for maybe 2 people, but for 3 or more people, I would order extra. The dessert was also amazing. They had a lilikoi crème brûlée which was so good - it had the flavor of lilikoi but it was on the sweeter side instead of tart. The chocolate cake was also so good - not overly sweet. We went on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away, but they're also on opentable if you want to make a reservation. They said there's live music on Fridays too, so we plan on coming back on a Friday next time. We parked in a public parking lot near the Ritz, which is right behind the restaurant."
