"After a beach day in Ewa, this is a nice place to stop on your way home. The table favorites is the Thai fried chicken appetizer. The sweet chili sauce to dip in hit the spot. The pineapple fried rice with beef was flavorful and had plenty of meat. Panang curry with chicken was ok; don't forget to order rice. Staff were helpful and food came out quick. Plus, parking right in front."
"Probably the best udon restaurant in Hawaii. The noodles are freshly made in store. Menu is short, you have a couple of options. Choose from broth based or sauce based. Add toppings such as cha shu, egg, tempura, etc.Prices range from $5.95 - $15+.Very affordable and taste very good. I have tried every single item on the menu. My favourite is the traditional daishi broth udon and I add my own add-ons. My least favourite was the tonkotsu udon, the broth was weak and not very flavourful. The place always have a line but it moves relatively fast. It's mostly self-serve. You order at the counter, pick your add on. Pay. Go grab your own cutlery and table. Eat. There is no table service. Fast paced environment. They have a loyalty program, you need to download the app. I was not able to join and take advantage of the loyalty program as I am visiting"

"I ordered Beef Broccoli Cake Noodle. The food arrived very quickly. The "cakes" of noodle were small and bite-sized, as were the beef and broccoli. The viscosity of the gravy was excellent, and the cakes of noodle were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was one of the best Cake Noodle I had ever had. And I don't know what those reviewers are talking about when they mention the "mean" owner. She was very friendly with us."
"Once upon a time in a land far away there was a college student working in a non-profit on Wall Street in New York City who had fallen deeply and madly in love with Hale and Hearty Soups, a build your own salad and soup establishment that left you feeling full and not stuffed. The college student eventually grew up, moved around quite a bit and found herself working for what seems like minimum wage in downtown Honolulu. Still lusting over the perfect soup and salad lunch, this now grown salad enthusiast searched near and far for something to fit the craving.Enter San Francisco Salads. Now this place is NO Hale and Hearty Soups. There is no build your own salads, there is no wide variety of soups, BUT what they do have is freshly made, well prepared salads and delicious soups, even if the choices can be a bit monotonous. Where San Francisco Salads succeeds is in the quality not quantity of their offerings. All salad offerings are named after places/neighborhoods in San Francisco and run the gamut of a regular house type salad to several salad options with chicken to include caesar, oriental, greek, chef's salad, etc. and a salad option with salmon. You can tell the salads are prepared fresh daily and contain quality ingredients. The soup offerings are tomato basil, tortilla, sausage and potato and chicken and wild rice. I have only tried the tomato basil and the torilla soup but both are delicious with the tomato basil being a favorite. You also can select your choice of dressing and bread. Extra bread can be purchased for $1 apiece and soft drinks are also available for purchase. San Francisco Salads is a one man show with who I assume is the owner taking orders, payments and packing orders to go. Despite being a one-man operation, the wait is never too long and service is efficient, though not too friendly. While I'll always miss the make my own salad option of years past, this place is perfection for days I don't have home lunch and I'm not looking to induce a diabetic coma by ordering plate lunch."
"Goma Tei Ramen was pretty tasty! I wouldn't say it was the best ramen in town but it does have some unique flavoring for a good ramen. The place is a normal sit down style, with a long bar style area for solo patrons to eat on. The service is pretty straight forward, down to business, takes your order and goes. The noodles were a little too firm for me but the broth, pork belly, and veggies included were the saving grace. I can recommend this to anyone who wants to satisfy their ramen craving or are interested in trying a slightly different style of ramen. :)"
"Gomatei has always bren a solid go-to for good value meal for Hawaii Japanese food. It's like Zippy's but make it Japanese for me, always solid food and at decent price! Their takeout bentos at around $8 is perfect! Me and my girlfriend have always had a great meal. You could go to other places, but gomatei has always been consistent enough for me to keep coming back.Curry loco moco hit better than I thought, hamburger steak was great."
"This place was ok. I was at Pearlridge and was hungry. I found this place in my bookmarks. It was pretty much across from the mall. They are popular for their "famous oxtail soup" and I love oxtail soup. It came with a side of rice and some dipping sauce. To be honest the oxtail could have been trimmed properly (quite fatty) and cooked more (didn't really fall off the bone). The soup was nice and the dipping sauce was good. There is a good size parking lot and the service was nice and friendly. It's not an overly big place so I can see it getting full quickly during peak hours. It's got like a diner type vibe...."
"Great service. Open space, nice place. I had The Special (Shio Ramen w/ Bok Choy & Char Siu (perfect size for me, I ate it all), with 2 sides Gyoza & Fried Rice)Oxtail Ramen (added chili powder & chili oil)Fried OysterEverything was delicious. We will totally come back."
"Our second time here while visiting Hawaii. Amazing food and excellent service! Authentic Thai food, the larb was delicious and the curries as well!"
"Personally this is my favorite hotpot location. They tend to be quite busy the past couple of times I have visited to keep that in mind. I tried to call ahead of time to ask to put my name down but they said we had to come in to sign into the waitlist. When we got here we were given an estimate of 15-30 minutes. However, less than 5 minutes later we were seated.Very pleased with the experience. With such a large restaurant they're bound to small details such as your water, but if you ask they're quick to fill it right up. When we ordered we made an accidental mistake for one of the broths and we asked politely to change it and they happily obliged with no problem. The process is straightforward, when you are seated you're given a piece of paper where you will order with (including the broths). You get 3 rounds. Under each round you can put the quantity of that item. Don't be shy when you put the quantity of the meats down, the images I have included was orders of 4 and then 6 (of each meat in separate rounds) it looked like the exact same to be honest. Self Serve Station:This is where you can get your sauces designed to what you desire. They also have small sides such as various fruits (ex: pineapple, cantaloupe), seaweed salad, peanuts, shrimp chips, and mini fried mandoos (last time it was sesame balls) (with condensed milk). Ordered:I got the spicy marrow broth. It is my go-to and super flavorful. - Supreme Beef: Delicious, MUST order- Beef Short Plate: A bit on the gamey side compared to the supreme beef, we almost mistook it as the lamb. Personally a bit too fatty for me as well. Would order just smaller quantity- Supreme Lamb Shoulder Plate: Also gamey as expected but it was perfect and expected if you enjoy the lamb flavor.I tried many things but the must orders beyond the meats for me are: - Shrimp paste with roe- Fish ball with roe- Wood ear mushroomsI would really recommend to not be shy when ordering and try what you'd like as you have only 3 rounds to order and the quality of each order is very small (eg: 1 order of shrimp paste is like 1-2 singular shrimp paste ball)."
"Breakfast with mom in Honolulu, Hawaii...I wanted a convenient place for my mom to dine - where she wouldn't have to walk too far. The Lanai at Ala Moana Center is a relatively new food court (started in 2018) that has many choices, free covered parking on the Mall Level, has clean restrooms, and shared dining area withair conditioning. We chose YYK Dimsum because they were open; the containers of food were ready to go; and there was no line.Mom got a 2-pack of steamed cha siu bao (BBQ pork buns), and I got wonton soup and a 2-pack of Shrimp & Chive dumplings. Mom said that the bread of the cha siu bao was kind of mushy - I guess the steam collected in the container while it was in the warmer. The bottom of the Shrimp & Chive dumplings were a bit mushy, too, for the same reason. However, the flavor was great! The wonton soup was alright! I liked the shrimp in each Dumpling - and I think there were 5 dumplings instead of 4 as advertised!I was glad that mom was able to recognize this area as where Shirokiya was (next to Macy's) - back in the day. Yes... Ala Moana Center (the largest outdoor mall in the world) has really changed and grown!"
"Best Thai food on the island!I visited Oahu from Los Angeles and have got to say Siam Garden was some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and it was absolutely delicious. I also sampled some of my partners soup which was incredibly flavorful and packed a punch! You can taste all the spices! The interior was traditionally decorated with the ambiance of a true Thailand experience. It's located in a strip mall so parking was not difficult, even on a holiday weekend. With that being said, service was a little slow in the beginning, but once our order was placed that was quickly amended. The food was authentic and flavorful and I will definitely return once I'm back in Oahu."

Spontaneously went on a Saturday around 2PM and it was completely empty. With the waterfall ambiance from the TV being the only noise, it felt almost eerie and like we were disturbing the peace by even speaking to each other. We started off with the ono app combo (2 spring rolls, 2 fish patties, and 2 chicken satay sticks), which was a perfect sampler for two people and came with sauces for each of the apps. We also always order green curry with sticky rice and shrimp pad thai whenever we go to a Thai restaurant and luckily the green curry was amazing. It honestly carried the whole meal. Perfect consistency and amounts of vegetables and tofu. The pad thai almost tasted BBQ-y and had maybe 5 pieces of shrimp. I also wish there were additional spices or hot sauces offered to kick up the heat a bit more. Overall, not bad but not life-changing.

Overall: tasty salad for quick pickupParking: downtown so try the Alii parking structure or streetCleanliness: cleanAmbiance: chill pickup lunch space Noise level: quiet (no tables inside)Recommend dish: whatever you like with the sesame dressing Service: friendly Good bang for your buck?: yup, pretty good deal for downtownWould I come again?: yes!Fun tip/fact: just check out what's in the display case to see what he has; never know what he has in stockThis is my go to salad place. Consistently, the greens are fresh, clean, the chicken is low fat, and it's always ready to go. Usually the salads are enough for a meal or two, especially if you paid it with a bread or soup. The owner is also very nice and remembers my order. ~Enjoy!

Hot soup on a blustery, stormy day in Honolulu, Hawaii...A terrible storm passed over the Island of O'ahu on Thursday, January 30, 2025.However, as loyal Yelp Elites, we found a restaurant on our Yelp apps that we both hadn't written reviews for... yet...Goma Tei Ramen Ala Moana Located on the Makai (ocean) side, ground level of Ala Moana Center, by See's Candies, this location of Goma Tei has free covered parking right in front! Irene got there before me and secured a table by the front door. Menus, glasses of water, napkins, and chopsticks were present. Table and counter seats are available. Restroom is convenient. The interior is clean and simple!Service was efficient and polite. We weren't ready at first, so the server came back later... no problem! I chose the Japanese Won Ton Soup because I don't need extra carbs... LOL! The wontons were LARGE! The filling was delicious and the wrappers were thin and delicate! What an excellent dish!I'm so happy that we went to this Goma Tei! I wonder if the others have Japanese Won Ton Soup???

Sadly, Goma Tei is declining in service and attention to orders placed. I ordered pick up via Uber Eats and did not receive the Ajitama egg that I paid extra for! Not the first time this this Pearlridge location has omitted items I ordered usually by deliveries.I love their Tan Tan soup base and cannot find a comparable taste at other ramen eateries (believe me I have tried). But, these oversights have caused me to stop giving Goma Tei my business. Other patrons must think so too since Iʻve noticed their rating points have dropped dramatically. Seemed to occur once they started to use their dining room as a storage room...tacky and signs of the restaurants decline in attitude!

After watching Amanda and Felix on YouTube eating Oxtail Soup at Kapiolani Coffee Shop in Waimalu shopping center I had to try it!!It's a hole in da wall and thats how I like it. These small places always have "da winna" kine food. They have a large selection on their menu but my wife and I was there for their famous Oxtail Soup and they didn't disappoint!! Service was fast, they took our order and in no time I was digging in. The broth is clear and nicely seasoned. Not too many veggies like other places just enough to give the broth a nice taste. I had maybe six or so pieces of meat, which was tasty and soft. With rice and ginger on the side, this meal was winnas!!!Perfect for a cold day!! When I'm back on that side of the island I would definitely stop by again!! Maybe try something different... then again... just go for the Oxtail.

I ordered the special combo: shoyu ramen, mini pork fried rice, and mochiko chicken. The ramen was underwhelming--bland and lacking flavor. On the other hand, the pork fried rice was the highlight of the meal, packed with amazing flavors. The mochiko chicken was also enjoyable, but nothing extraordinary. The ambience was a plus, with a spacious dining area that easily accommodated our group of nine. Plenty of parking made getting there hassle-free. Unfortunately, they don't serve alcohol, which was a bit of a letdown.Overall, a decent spot with some hits and misses. Would I return? Maybe, but only for the fried rice.

"Beware, this place gets super crowded at lunch and dinner time, so if you're going with a big party I'd come a little before or after the peak times. The food is really good here, and the ladies that work here are always so nice to us.This time I got the lemongrass chicken on vermicelli with spring rolls. I usually get the bahn mi, which is just as good but opted for the noodles this time around. There was more noodles that I cared to eat, but if you like a lot of noodles you'll appreciate this big bowl. My uncle got the pho, and he said it was just what he needed after getting over a cold. He liked the broth and that it came with so much vegetables. I'll get this next time I'm feeling under the weather or on a rainy day. We ordered my kids the chicken fried rice, and it was kind of bland but tasted good with their house chili sauce and a little shoyu. My kids didn't care for it since it had all those vegetables in it but I liked the addition of the corn in it...something I use at home too."
"I love coming here for breakfast and anytime of day. Food is always on point especially the arrozcaldo. My favorite and the kare kare. My favorite for breakfast is the corn beef omelette. My boyfriend and I usually come here for breakfast early since it isn't busy. Highly recommend if you love Filipino food. Definitely worth the money here. The waitresses are nice too. They refill your coffee right away and your waters."
"The spice in Kapahulu...Love this location as it's one of very few that offers free private parking which is quite difficult in Kapahulu though the search is always worth the effort as what you'll find here are some yummy flavorful dishes.Walking in I was quite impressed with the amount of seating they have here though I do remember pretty far back in the day of what it used to be and am so delighted to see that the building still remains the same and is thriving with New Kamana Kitchen and what it offers. The staff here is just a delight as I took mom out for dinner and decided on this place as I know how much she loves naan bread and know that grazing here would be just perfect and we ordered Butter Chicken and nice that we're able to adjust the spice level which had to be mild was just perfect as it arrived practically spilling over the side was a generous lovely goodness and we were just so excited. All dishes come with rice which always paired up perfect as mom ate it with her butter naan bread and I ate mine with rice making it the perfect pairing with this pair and thank goodness we stuck with this simple meal as it was enough to put us into instant food coma and packed it for lunch tomorrow...woohoo!Thank you!"
"I saw someone having this, I took a picture n showed it to my boyfriend who's standing inline at another stallWe ended up getting one n it was very good"
"Owner from Honolulu Kitchen in Waipahu opened space that was Island Manapua. There is a variety on menu. Our order was roast pork plate and shoyu chicken plate. Shoyu chicken was boneless over white rice. Roast pork was soft with slight crispy and skin was not crispy. We will come again for jai.IG page is Honolulu kitchen."
"Met up with some friends for cocktails and pupus, all things considered it was a pretty good experience. Parking is a 2 star experience but since it wasn't my car squeezed in between those two gigantic trucks I'm not knocking my stars down for this review. We were a party of seven so a couple of tables were pushed together, perfect because we ordered enough food to share for a party of twelve. Seriously we weren't expecting the portions to be so generous. We ordered ahi belly, fried chicken, shoyu chicken, tempura, fried tofu and noodles. Drinks and beers ordered around and let the party begin!First let me say the drinks are cheap! Seems like everywhere lately the prices are the same as Waikiki...these were neighborhood bar reasonable.... Of all the food I liked the fried chicken best and the ahi belly least, not that I didn't like it, it was good just a little drier than I like. Noodles were good too as the blouse I was wearing can attest....i had noodles everywhereWould I return, yes I would. Fun evening filled with much laughter, good food and good friends."
"I never thought Spoon's would get better since I already really liked their food before their renovation and revamp of the menu.... until now. I am more in love with the food that they serve now and the way that there's both made-to-order food AND already made food.Since their renovation, I've dined in twice. I received the same great service and delicious food. I like that they have just enough seating and have a system where once you're done with your plates, you can place them in an area for staff to pick it up rather than leaving it at your table. It makes things more efficient and hopefully makes cleanup easier for staff. They also have a free water station! While it might seem small from the outside, they definitely make use of the space well and maximize how many customers can be inside at one time. Side note: I really like the fact that they play k-pop inside! The food:Rosé Tteokbokki ($16.95) - Perfect dish for two people to share. Comes with sliced sausages, bacon, 1 boiled egg, and the tteok (rice cake). If you've had rosé tteokbokki at other places on island, you may have the same thought that I had: it's surprisingly not spicy at all. The spice levels could be kicked up a little if they wanted to increase it but honestly? I'd still love their tteokbokki either way. Curry Cheese Rice Ball ($3.50) - Way better than expected and highly recommend anyone to try it. If you've ever had arancini, it's like a bigger version of it with an Asian twist. I'm not sure what sauce they use on top of it but it brings everything together to have a nice party in my mouth. The outer layer has a thin but crunchy feel to it which meshes well with the soft rice and gooey cheese insides.Strawberry Bingsu ($9.50) - I think this might be the only item I've tried so far that I was just slightly disappointed about. When they had Teaspoon a few years back inside Spoon's where they sold bingsu on the side, I really enjoyed that bingsu. However, this new bingsu could use more ice shavings since a lot of it currently consists of the strawberry liquid/jam(?) but not enough ice shavings to pair with it. But, that might just be my preference. It still tastes really good though!"
"Wonderful Experience! No Offense but In all honesty Uala Leaf Cafe was not what I expected.I mean... you get gourmet food at a community college and large meals for under $10? Mind blown! All I can say is these students eat good! On my first day I tried the steak tostada served with Spanish rice, frijoles negras, and fresh watercress salad. The flavors were all in point. The meat was moist and flavorful while the tostada shell added a perfect crunch to the dish. I love how well the watercress paired with the dish too. Amazing meal and a great price! Two days later I came back for the Porchetta with pickled fennel and vegetarian Ratatouille! The Porchetta was nice and tender with a light crisp on the outside skin. Just looking at the Ratatouille you could see that each slice of vegetable was hand cut and placed in an overlapping fashion. It was beautiful as it was tasty! So heres 5 stars to this hidden gem of a cafe tucked in the mountain side of Kaneohe!"
"Great place that is on the rise. Small venue that makes every seat intimate and enjoyable. Food was very well done and drinks are pricey but worth it. Admission for practically a front row seat to see an artist is really reasonable, so eat and drink at your will. We hope they find success and continue to operate this gem in Hawaii Kai."
"Oahu GrillDon't let the outside fool you, it is authentic! We were greeted by a very nice young lady from the Hanauma bay area. She quickly learned we were not locals and brought us several items of the Hawaiian variety to try. She explained each food item (Poi, Lomi Salmon, Squid Luau, Chicken Long Rice, and Kalua pig), provided the history and how it is typically eaten in Hawaii. They were all delicious. The Poi is more bland, but is a good balance with the Kalua Pig. Chicken Long a rice is the comparable to Chicken Noodle Soup, but with clear noodles and a little less salt. Squid Luau is very similar to Laing from the Philippines, made with coconut milk, Taro Leaves, and Octopus. Lomi Salmon is like having a fresh salsa with Salmon. For the main dishes we had pork belly and rice. The pork belly had more fat than what we usually eat at restaurants and was salty. The rice, well that's difficult to mess up. Most of the dishes had more salt than we would normally eat, but I think the food was authentic to Hawaii. The dessert was coconut flavored and delicious. The restaurant itself was pretty standard with regular tables and four chairs. It is located on the bottom floor with some window seats that looked out to the street. The building is an older building, but don't let that scare you if you're looking for good service. The best part of this experience was the server, she made us feel welcomed. To sum it up, I have mixed feelings only because of the salt level. If you are not watching your salt or like salty food, this place will be perfect. Gave four stars due to the service!"
"Wow! Just wow.If you're looking for the real deal on top quality Wagyu and/or waguykushu come to Japanese BBQ Yoshi. Disclaimer: If you want the melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu you better be willing to pay. This is not the place to come if you're on a tight budget that's for sure. I mean that in the kindest way. We decided not mess around and got the #1 Wagyu set menu for 2 people which was $$$. It included an appetizer tray (potato salad, pickled daikon, and broccoli), soup, rice, choice of butter garlic shrimp or Hokkaido scallops, choice of beef tongue or pork belly, complete Wagyu sampler platter (3 different cuts), cold udon, and dessert. No lie, this was probably the best Wagyu we have ever had in Japan or Hawaii. It's most definitely worth the price.Small parking lot off Young St."
"There mini azuki manapua is so awesome and wish they make it daily and I would be happy"
"Amazing authentic Chinese cuisine. Please support this beautiful restaurant. Customer service is A1."
"Whenever we are in Hawaii Kai for a Costco run, we try to eat here! Love their pho here. Lots of meat! Don't want to complain about anything, but dang, lots of meat! Haha! Broth is super good as well. I really do like the beef stew pho. It's just so much good flavor and something different. There's usually always space to sit, which I love because I'm so impatient when I'm hungry. Staff here are always friendly and we just love this place! They have "sister" restaurants in town, but I like this place the best!"
"Amazing food and service! Located in McCully Shopping Center, there was ample parking. I came here with 2 friends and sat down immediately with no reservation. You start by ordering your broth and meats. We got the Thai broth which was delicious! It was acidic and a little sour which made it refreshing and easy to eat. As for meats we tried the ribeye, pork belly, and brisket. Each portion was a decent size.Everything else can be grabbed from the fridges and DIY sauce bar. There was a variety of vegetables and starches with classics like cabbage and unique items like bitter melon. We loved the quail eggs and Korean rice cakes! Such a fun and delicious experience we will definitely be back again!"
"Surprisingly delicious food and very healthy. The portion sizes are a bit small for the price though, but I guess it's the cost of doing business. I got the chicken pho and it came in a paper bowl which was weird to me since we were dining in. The waitress said I could ask for it to come in a glass bowl next time. So, that's exactly what I did. It tasted so much better in a regular bowl. My bf liked his spinach wrap and he added extra chicken but it still came out tiny. Overall, a healthy place to dine in when you're in the area and craving Vietnamese food."
"Our office orders sandwich platters from Cafe Panini often and they're beautifully displayed on a round platter cut into quarters. Their sandwiches are big, fresh and tasty. My favorite is the grilled veggie sandwich and also their fresh veggie sandwich. They also have ready made salads and sandwiches in the fridge and also sell plate lunches like spaghetti. I ordered the roasted veggie sandwich and it was HUGE! The sandwich was so fresh and yummy and came with a side of Mac salad which complimented the sandwich well.Cafe Panini is a family run business, the father (chef) passed the business onto his daughter. This little spot is worth supporting! There's one 10 minute loading parking stall next to the entrance for easy pick up so best to call your order in!"
"Easy to make a reservation! This year, with losing 3 coworkers (retired, left fora higher FG position, resigned), we decided to have our Christmas luncheon here. 2024 Dec 19 1215 reservation and checked in early and was seated :)The hostess was on a phone call when I walked in and after the call, she apologized for the wait and greeted me with a smile, LOVE THAT customer service!I was not surprised at how busy this restaurant is and it looked like a few companies had their xmas luncheon there today too. Booths along the perimeter, tables located in the middle, bar to the right and even a "to go" section near the restrooms. Our server, Leila, so sweet! The food, so so ono (I got the fettuccine with chicken and added broccoli) and I love their chicken gnocchi soup and the strawberry cream cake delish!I will definitely be back with the ohana!"
"Came here for dinner because the line at Marugame was too long haha. Inside is pretty rundown, but they have lots of cute drawings on the wall (some of which kinda look like they came from the same person which is fine but feels a bit fake...). Service was fast but not super attentive. We ordered the garlic chicken wings, mul naengmyeon, tteokguk, kimchi pajeon, and fried mandoo. Wings were nice and crispy, probably the best thing along with the tteokguk which was also quite good! The naengmyeon tasted like it was from a pack, and fried mandoo seemed to be frozen. The pajeon was fine. Overall food is really meh here, but I guess it's nice to have a Korean option in Waikiki."
"This place has got to be one of our go-tos during the month. I've just discovered the mini items which is just enough for lunch or small appetites. They give a little container of macaroni salad depending on what you order. I kind of wish it could be a choice of a tiny tossed salad as a healthier, more colorful option.Prices seem to keep increasing like everywhere else. The taste is good and consistent.Yesterday I saw a worker unloading what looked like a goodie goodie type cold item into a mini freezer in front of the cashier area. I didn't get close enough to investigate, maybe next time."
"I went here twice to get some food for my family in the area. The place is somewhat small, and there are a few tables to eat at, but most people, myself included, seemed to be ordering to-go. I ordered my entree, then got to choose from a selection of sides depending on what size. The staff were very friendly, and we got our food within about 5 minutes. We ordered the spicy pork, the mandu soup and some wings. We ordered the spicy chicken as well the second time. The spicy pork was delicious, and had a nice grilled flavor. It was pretty greasy, but thats how it should be since it's usually grilled pork shoulder or pork belly, which is a fattier cut of meat. The spicy chicken was also really good. The portions here are very generous, so ordering a smaller size is usually what we now go with to minimize leftovers."
"I left the restaurant sad...Because my favorite brisket pho is going to be 5,000+ miles away from home! My (picky) kids and I came here on a whim after being unable to decide what to eat for dinner. Figured there was enough of a variety that everyone could get what they wanted and be satisfied. We don't necessarily like eating out at dine-in restaurants but it was only a "fifteen minute" wait, so why not. *FIVE minutes later*... we were seated I did not expect to LOVE this place. By far my favorite pho (with brisket) I've ever had. And I've had PLENTY. We also ordered vegetarian spring rolls, summer rolls with bbq chicken, chicken pho, and lemongrass beef with rice. I must say the dressing for the salad and summer rolls, and the pickled radish and carrots were also delicious. I also noticed that they work hard, fast, and provide a quick turnaround in between clients. They provided ice water as soon as we were seated and the food came out quickly and piping hot. This restaurant is a must!"
"After getting a late start shopping for a replacement hair dryer for my wife and a head start Christmas shopping for my 3 precious grandkids we fled Ala Moana Center focused on noodles for dinner. After striking out at McCully Shopping Center we decided on a steaming bowl of pho. Off to Pho Tri, one of our go-to restaurants for consistently clean and tasty pho. We arrived a tad bit after 8:00 pm and snagged parking right in front of the restaurant. Zipped in and our 2 bowls of piping hot pho were brought to our table as we munched on the fresh pile of bean spouts dipped in their house made chili sauce. Clean broth with star anise aroma with good size serving of eye round steak and well done flank steak. I surprised my wife and myself by finishing the large bowl. Must have been all of that walking and stressing over kiddie gifts. Overall and excellent tummy warming meal on a not-so-windy and cold evening. It was great to support a local small business on Small Business Saturday and even though we finished 5 minutes of closing, the owner took time to chat with us about the challenges of owning and operating a food service business. This is an area I'm well acquainted with having opened the State's Business Action Center ages ago. We talked of life, kids, grandkids, immigrant life in America and our travels throughout Vietnam. What I nice personal way to bond with the hardworking owner and to acknowledge the work that goes into keeping a business afloat in these stressful times. My hats off to Mr. Nguyen. He's been in business for over 20 years in Hawaii and still going! Pleased to support local small business serving great tasting pho and reasonable prices."
