When searching for our wedding photographer, we narrowed it down to three or so people and asked for opinions from our parents, siblings and some friends, some of which are photographers and / or artists themselves. "Our photobooth for our wedding was awesome thanks to Photo Perfect Hawaii! The line was non-stop. Hazel and the Photo Perfect Hawaii team were very easy to work with. They have a wide selection of (cute) backdrops and designs for your print-outs. I happened to have a design I saw in mind and sent it to them, and they were very flexible in working with me to come up with a custom design. It turned out great! They also offer a guestbook/album if you want to have guests stick their pictures in and sign. I personally provided my own but it's nice that they have that feature. The day of, they arrived 1 hour early to set-up. They have extremely fun props to choose from (shout out to the panda head and all the hilarious signs). Manning our photo booth was not an easy task I'm guessing with all our [drunk] FUN guests, but Hazel and her team kept things going. They were very patient and also offered unlimited print outs. The print out quality is top notch and very professional. Additionally, their prices are EXTREMELY REASONABLE! One of the best parts for me was that they kept a copy of all my photos for me and gave it to me (well my wedding coordinator, lol) at the end of the night with the USB of all the photos which was very thoughtful because as the bride, I definitely would've misplaced my photos by the night's end. All the photos are online with a gallery as well!Love looking back at all my guests' photos and would like to give my heartiest thanks to Hazel and the Photo Perfect Hawaii team for their hard work. She is immensely talented, highly professional and creative.Traveling from San Diego to Hawaii, I was reluctant to book a session as I was afraid we would miss the session due to weather, traffic, etc... then throw some jet lagged kids in the mix and our chances of a great session was slim. Well, Taylor made sure we were on the dryer side of the island but still had the back drop I was looking for; picked a time that still had great light but worked with the kid's nap schedule; and was very flexible in the date as we were going to be on the island for 7 days with 3 of the days forecasted to be raining. The photos were absolutely stunning. She made us all feel at ease and captured how my family is naturally. She was even able to get some great shots of my three-nager who was throwing a fit because her baby brother was getting a lot of attention for his cake smash.She made the whole process stress free and she was very easy to get a hold of if I needed to ask her something. "I found a Groupon for a family shoot, 1 hour. The Groupon cost was a DEAL. I paid an extra $50 travel fee because I wanted a location further out than the Groupon included location which was basically only Waikiki-Ala Moana area. Shijia was super friendly and directed us on how to pose. She was very active in capturing my baby's movements. She showed us photos along the way and they were great.It took only 3 days for her to send me my photos. They turned out fantastic. My Groupon covered 20 photos, however I ended up purchasing more because the 20 didn't include some other photos I wanted. I ended up buying 15 or so more at $5 each. The only thing I would recommend to her is if the customer could choose the 20 photos instead of them being chosen by the photographer. I would recommend Shijia, excellent price and her photos are very professional."

"Ever wanted to freeze time because you were experiencing some of life's precious moments? Well, being a first time mommy and having this amazing human to care of, the best advice I received was to do newborn photos. I'd heard of Mindy's work through friends and family and through people's pics on Insta or FB, so I'd always been intrigued. When I inquired, not gonna lie, the price was high and I thought twice about it. But, I called my cousin, Tracie, and asked her if it was worth it. (Yes, writing about it now, I feel like a fool, but I needed this convo with her.) She flat out told me, "Aim, do it. You'll never get those moments back. It all goes by too fast and you don't want to miss it." I was sold. And now, looking back at the photos of my precious son at nine days old, I can't get that time back and I am beyond blessed that Mindy captured him so perfectly. I'm not here advertising for Mindy, rather speaking from my heart that this was THE best decision I've made. So, yes, it's not cheap, but the photos that Mindy took are priceless (and I never say things like that as thick as my Chinese blood runs through my veins!). Communicating with Mindy was easy and she is very responsive and (for lack of a better word) AWESOME. We worked out the details over email and she had a lot of information about what to do to prepare and be ready for the photoshoot. The day of the photoshoot was crazy. Mindy is a professional and simply the best at her art. What I learned this entire day was a master of her craft needs time to "do work". Mindy spent around five hours with my son. Who knows what she does or how she is a newborn photo genius, but she is. To clarify, my husband and I were there the whole time. We took family photos first and then we left him with her for the rest of the photoshoot. Not gonna lie, as new parents this being the first time away from the baby, my hubby and I were lonely and worried. I guess they call this separation anxiety, but we survived that day thanks to the Women's World Cup on TV to keep us occupied. Anyway, whatever she does behind her closed door is just magical. I know this because I have the photos to prove it. Mindy sent us a bunch of photos for our birth announcements right away and a few weeks later we got the rest of the photos. I know I cannot articulate correctly how the photos came out, but I am blown away by how perfect she captured my little guy and our new family. Like I said earlier, his newborn days were so precious and I will never get that time back with him. Mindy literally froze time and put him in the cutest positions and props so I will have those moments forever. "I recently took some drone lessons from Alex. It took a while to get time but it really wasn't his fault. You need the optimal conditions and I valued that he made sure that the weather was perfect for my first time practicing flying my drone.My husband got me a drone about three years ago for my birthday or Christmas. It was just poor timing on his part because he gave it to me the same year we had a baby. I guess he didn't figure that having a baby would take up 100% of your time and leave no time for drone flying.Well she's three now and a lot more independent so we decided to open our drone box. Lesson #1: don't be like me and open your box three years later. We had a few batteries that wouldn't charge up because it was sitting idle for so long. Alex gave me some good recommendations of what to do and who I could possible take the batteries to check them out. I met Alex at Kawainui Model Airplane Field. I have never been there but it was a great place to learn. It was a wide open area perfect for people who are just learning. Just in case they don't know how to move their controls. Alex was a good instructor. He told me about the rules of flying and how to be cognizant of the environment around before flying. He had me do several tries of the different controls. It was a little confusing at first but he was patient. I didn't get it but he helped me understand it better by putting it into analogies. Then I kept thinking of the analogy to help me remember the controls. I learned how to control it in all directions and take a selfie. I'm glad that I took this course. My husband was super excited that I finally got to use my drone. So I showed him what I learned in class and he's hooked too. Thanks Alex for the great lesson!"

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about the amazing Kevin Lubera. Where to start? We were referred to him by our incredible floral and even designer, Yvonne Design, for our 2010 wedding in Napa. We were thrilled that he was available, as he is highly in demand! Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but leading up to the day, he was so calm and accommodating, just speaking with him dropped my stress levels because he literally had everything covered. Given I was planning my wedding from abroad, he was entirely accommodating about when we spoke, and was super responsive over email. I wanted photos that were not forced, and more of a photo-journalistic approach, and he more than delivered. I met savanah on the beach where the photo session was held. We did a combination of solo pics, sibling duo pics, and also pics with the humans (me!) lol. She definitely had quite the challenge up her sleeve as she did not know that one of my dogs was mostly blind at this point and had a forward head tilt. However, with some brainstorming and some teamwork we were able to make it happen where her head would pop up for very short limited times. The other challenge was my second dog was very vocal the entire time and would not stop talking. "From the first email exchange between Jonah (business owner) and I, I could tell he would be really cool to work with. I had checked out his website and seen a sample of his work, and was like "yea right, there's no way my wedding can look that cool!" But I wanted video of our wedding, so we went ahead with our contract/reservation. On our wedding day, I was so right. Jonah and Marlene are the absolute best! So chill, so kind, such positive energy flowing out of them! Working with them was so effortless - I hardly knew when they were shooting! I was the bride at my wedding! I saw everything, because I was there! Right?! When we saw the video highlight of our wedding... there are not enough words!!!!!!! I could hardly believe it was our wedding!
