Jess C. "LOVE Brug!Faves:* This location does thin sliced bread (whereas the Ala Moana only offers thick)* I've tried the golden, plain, and puffy top breads -- faves are the plain. Golden is good and costs a premium but tastes the same as plain to me? Puffy supposedly has no sugar.* The Hokkaido Haskap Berry Jam - Love that it is tangy. Could be a bit less sweet. Has chunks of fruit inside, and is liquidy (but not in bad way).Lows:* Cranberry cheese bread: Tasted very bitter one time, they did not offer to refund me or replace (nor did I ask)."

Server was so nice, prompt, and accommodating. When faced with a potato or fried rice choice, she offered and got me half/half. Kaneohe is a great place to live! Even before we went into restaurant. A simple act of kindness. Parking along a yellow curb that maybe was reserved for pick-ups, another restaurant's employee came out and told us that we can park there, no problem. This as my wife was just about to move car. It's a kind environment!"

AiVi N. "Great experience, amazing foods :)Fête was our anniversary dinner and I definitely chose the right place. Reservations were made for 8:30PM. We called and let the host know we may be a few minutes late to look for parking and she gave us some tips. We found street parking a block over with no problem. Our server Christi was amazing. She was attentive and friendly. She was knowledgeable of the menu and specials, and we felt taken care of the whole night. One thing too, we wanted to try both the fries and crispy potatoes, but Christi had warned us that the sides are full portions. It's nice to see a restaurant not try and upsell you things. Thank you Christi! Stephanie took over towards the end of the night and wrapped up our service nicely.2 cons I would note is the volume inside the restaurant and space between the table. It was loud in there until the last 30 minutes of our meal (last 30 minutes before closing). Tables are pretty close together as well. We could hear the conversations of the tables next to usWe got the spicy kitty, steak tartare, korean bavette, chez burger, and crispy potatoes. Spicy kitty was ... spicy. All the foods tastes great! Well-seasoned and nothing was too salty or missing in flavor. My steak was cooked perfectly medium rate. It's not melt in your mouth but cooked well enough that the chew isn't too much. First I was expecting a dressing for the slaw, but the kochujang sauce ended up being the dressing for the slaw. Rice could be improved on, I wasn't really tasting ginger-scallion and there were clumps of rice. 5 stars for service4.7 stars for food4 stars for ambienceOverall, a great anniversary dinner!"

Janelle O. "As I started writing this review, I realized that all of the 3 photos I've posted so far are of the avocado burger, so I wonder if you can guess my go-to order here? LOL I do also get fries every time but for some reason never took photos of those.Burgers can be ordered 1/2 or 1/3 pound and by default come with a kaiser roll, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. But you could also get wheat or rye bread. The burgers are delicious, although you need to be able to handle messy burgers that are taller than they are wide. I recommend ordering to go even if you dine in, because then your burger comes wrapped in foil which is convenient for keeping your hands dry while eating! There are also paper towel rolls at every table and a bathroom around back to wash your hands though. The fries are shoestring fries, which are tasty and not so common, so they're nice to get.I've also tried the grilled fish sandwich (very good) and pastrami sandwich (not bad). The fish available will usually be ahi, but mahi and ono are also possibilities according to the menu. There are lots of inside tables and some outside tables. It's pretty cold inside so I opt for outside when available. Finally, parking: there's a handful of stalls in the front and more in a small lot in the back."

Rhea A. "I have yet to jump on the Japanese fruit and cream sandwiches train. When Mana Sandwiches first opened in Ala Moana, stopping in to try their sandwiches wasn't high on my priority list. They recently opened this Downtown Honolulu location so since I was in the area, I decided to give it a go. I walked in, saw the fruit and cream sandwiches and how aesthetically pleasing they looked, but still didn't find any appetizing appeal to them. If you're like me, and prefer savory sandwiches, don't worry, they have those too. Other savory sandwiches include tonkatstu sandwich, ham and cheese, roast beef, egg, and more. I settled on the lobster sandwich. It was pretty good and I would order it again. They also have specialty drinks like coffee jelly milk, strawberry milk, and chips, and loaves of Brug bread for sale by the loaf and half a loaf. They use Brug bakery bread for their sandwiches.Seems like a great addition to the Downtown Honolulu lunch scene. Customer service was good. I'll be back to try the Avocado Egg Edamame sandwich and maybe muster up enough curiosity to try a fruit sandwich. All of them look and sound great to me, just not in between sandwich bread. I'm hoping the next time I stop in, I can give the Banana Nutella, Strawberry Nutella, and Mixed Fruits a try."

Jules Y. "At first I was very skeptical about this place bc of the prices but I'd been traversing between Hi-Tea Cafe and the Steak place on the other side and finally gave in when I saw their 40% sale one evening.I read a bunch of helpful Yeep reviews and couldn't help get taken in by Paul C.'s review about this place. When faced with having to select which flavor sandos I wanted, I couldn't help but buy more than a few! So I started asking questions about the ingredients. What made it even a better prospect is their mayo is not made with toxin-filled petroleum-based American mayo, a definite plus. Also, I avoid anything processed so keep this in mind *Sandos - Which ones did I like? Literally, * ALLLLLLL of them. From the tonkatsu to the portobello mushroom to the egg salad.Drinks - One day a woman was holding a fresh strawberry milk drink. She said I need to try it so I did. YUM!!!Soups - So far, the soups are fantastic. My favorite so far is the clam chowder and the corn chowder. I only wish the container were much larger for the price.Strawberries - Once a year at end of the year, they import fresh strawberries straight from Japan. There are two types, the smaller tart/sweet and the little larger mostly sweet. These strawberries are quite expensive but considering that ppl in Japan will pay $50 for just ONE jumbo asian pear, I guess this strawberry situation is not so bad. When I spent $50, I got a free "Mana Sandwiches" cooler tote. So cool. Thank you!! When the time comes, put your order in before they sell out. They are a definite must try.Discount card - Sign up for an account and get a $5 discount every so often (sorry, at the moment, I don't remember the redemption scale).Friendly staff - They are willing to answer any of your questions and explain what goes into their product. This place is worth a try! Don't forget if you want a better deal, go in the later evenings (maybe 6-7pm or so; you can call to ask what time this will be that evening) when their sandwiches are 40% off.Thank you, Paul C., for your recommendation!!"

John A. "I woke up this morning craving a good sandwich. Trolled Yelp for the best sandwich shop on the island. After much searching, I found this hidden Gem. I decided to order the Mixed Avocado $12.42. The sandwich came with a bag of chips that went well with the Sandwich. The sandwich was made with care and thought. Everything was paired perfectly. I mean the shredded carrots and cabbage provided the sweetness to the salted ham and bacon. I also ordered the Bacon Salami $12.42, but this time opted to pair this sandwich with the organic side salad. The salad was complimented with a balsamic vinegar dressing. The sandwich is served on a French roll. The sandwich was served warm seeing the mozzarella needed to be melted. This would be my go to when on a run. The establishment decor provides a warm place to study, read or just to escape the town hustle and bustle. Establishment is rather large place that has two areas to sit and enjoy. Bottom floor can host 14 people and their upstairs can host another 20 people. They have soft jazz music in the background that topped everything off. This place isn't just a sandwich shop, it also serves a rather large selection of caffeine and teas (I'll be back to review). In closing: Whether you're in search for some coffee or a quick bite, I recommend you try Spera Spera if you are in the Honolulu town area. Until next time, eat till your heart is content."

They also have a shop in downtown so if you're craving and don't want to drive out that far, there's a closer one. I've been to this location before and let me tell you, I feel so content afterwards. Parking can be a little hard during peak times. They have maybe like 3 stalls in front IF people park nicely. There is a table outside where you can enjoy your sandwich. Luckily the last time I went, we had the whole table to ourselves and with a chicken as well. If you're not sure what you want, you can always ask what they recommend since they know what ups. Let me tell you when I say meat to veggies ratio is over the top. Sandwich was packed with 90% meat. I timed the sandwich build from cut of the bread to the final wrap and slide. Total time, 1:05 seconds. Your asked if you'd like to modify the sandwich in anyway. Yes, there is an extra charge for more meat. Other changes like swap Dijon mustard for regular mustard is free. In closing, I would highly recommend Timmy T's when you're craving a meaty sandwich. They have 3 location, Honolulu, Kailua, and the NEX area. The customer service was very professional and nice.
