"Varsity Boys' Basketball Game in Honolulu, Hawaii...Kamehameha School is an exclusive private school and I'm glad I got a chance to go on campus and watch an ILH (Interscholastic League of Honolulu) Championship Basketball Game. Last year, my alma mater (Maryknoll School) took the State Championship Title. I wasn't motivated to go to games last year. This year, my niece is on the Cheer Squad, so, I kind of wanted to see her in action, too!I drove up the long driveway to the Guard Shack and asked for directions to the gym. I was to turn left at the first intersection... everything else was a blur, except for "you can't miss it - go to the ground level after you park in the structure". Well, this building looked like a gym. I asked anyway, and a nice lady told me that the door would open at 6pm.I took a few photos, sat on a bench, and played a few games on my phone. A line started to form, and I realized that people were going inside even though it was 5:45pm! I got in line, paid my $6 admission fee, looked at the gal walking in next to me, and noticed that she looked familiar... it was my sister! LOL! Small world! She sat with her fellow coaches for the Cheer Team and I sat on the bleachers above, so I could watch after their belongings. Looking around the spacious, clean, well-lit gym, I spotted the ceiling fans and observed that there are no air conditioning units - just louvered windows that let in a cool cross breeze! The gym is elevated on a hill where the air is fresher! Ahhh!Overall, it was a satisfactory experience. One of the scoreboards was blinking off and on. The PA system was rather fuzzy - I couldn't understand the announcer - maybe he wasn't annunciating? Anyway, I know how to get to the gym if there's another special occasion!"
"My daughter just started her schooling in Jan 5 and she's 3 yrs old. She loved going to school . She never cry or anything. Her teacher Josie is so patience along with Ms. Ruth. Also my daughter wasn't potty train and after 2 weeks she is already. I appreciate all the staffs at Oceanpointe. They are always smiling and making me as parent feeling comfortable and at ease leaving my child with their care."
"This school is very family oriented. In the past they've had Easter egg hunts and we've even gone to a Legacy event since Hubs & our younger one graduated from here. Now there is an elementary school which wasn't here til after so it was our first chance to see it. This is where we attended their Hoot Hoot event which I call Spaghetti and Snow. This is the first time we got a notice about it and the flyer said limited to 250 participants. The planning was excellent foreseeing weather limitations and they were prepared. The event began at 11 a.m. We got there early because parking is a premium. (We learned that from summer's graduation because I had to circle Manoa and just let hubs jump out with leis for a graduating relative. )There was a check in table and we immediately saw the Hawaiian Ice truck and one of the men were filling up the basketball court with "snow." There were canopies set up for approximately 260 guests. On the stage there was Santa's chair and several Xmas trees. They even had a maze built indoors which entertained the kiddies until they ventured forth into the snow. Do dress your keiki in waterproof clothing and bring gloves & covered shoes or they will get soaked for sure. Rain did not stop the kids from playing in the icy puddles and slick surface. Snowballs were flying through the air.Santa was the closing highlight passing out cute character goodie bags to each child with the help of reindeer or elf adorned head gear. You should see the faces of the kiddies from cute smiling to get me out of here screaming of some really tiny toddlers. Phones were flashing shots. It was fun! What a lovely institution to do this for their Alumni & students. One of hub's classmates said they come every year. This was our first and hopefully not our last. It was not free, adults were $25 and children were $15. Well planned and executed. I had to thank K. Wheeler as we left."
"My daughter goes here and they are amazing, staff is always supper friendly and she has grown so much in both personality and in academia. They have good hours open 630-530 and very caring and attentive to the kids. It's amazing because it is on the cheaper end of preschools and they also try to ensure everything is paid for in the tuition(food, supplies, field trips). I'm blessed I found them."
"ARA does a great job of preparing and developing talented young students for college and the performing arts. The classroom ratio is ideal and the academy feels like an extended family. What you may miss from a large school/student body is made up for in program quality and personal interactions.Enough cannot be said about the student performances, staff and swim team. With time I only hope the developing campus presents a more polished and 'clean' appearance to reflect all of the great things happening inside the classrooms and studios."
"This is an EXCEPTIONAL school. It's the ONLY K-12 International Baccalaureate school in the state. The setting is at the old Kailua drive in site, and it's spectacular. The views are incredible. The staff are great. Helpful and interested in the children's best interest ( as it should be ) and are always available to engage with the parents on their children's education. Although expensive, it's well below Punahou, 'Iolani, and Mid Pac. They do offer financial aid options, yet make sure you apply early because it can take some time to get through the process. Le Jardin does offer athletics as well as a quality education. As a matter of fact, the girl's just won the ILH water polo championship, and the boy's won last year. Le Jardin competes in Water Polo, paddling, swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis, kayaking and golf. They also compete in the PAC-5 in football, softball, wrestling, baseball and cross country. The gym is fantastic, a tad bit cramped, but very nice indeed. I'm proud to say that my girls will be attending Le Jardin the fall of 2013"
"I did a Bat Mitzvah photography gig there. The staff that was helping to i guess over see the celebration was very nice and chill.I dig... I dig..."
"My son went to Love A Keiki learning center and he loved it there! The staff is very helpful and welcoming, especially for a "helicopter mom" like me who is super attached to my child, and visa-versa. My son was extra shy at first and had a hard time adjusting being with someone other than his sitters. The staff at Love a keiki helped fully potty train and teach him manners and the basic fundamentals for kindergarten. He always gets excited when we talk about school and says he had a great day at school. Plus, it's one of the more affordable tuitions. =) The only downside is that there is no air conditioning, like a lot of schools in Hawaii. I was going to -1 star, but decided there are a lot of good stuff to make up for it. For example, field trips, holiday festivities, pizza days, water days, Ronald Mcdonald day, and a cute graduation ceremony when the children are ready to transition to Kindergarten. I would recommend Love a Keiki for a parent/child looking for a school near Kalihi/town."
"Located in the beautiful property shared with Aulani, Marriott, Four Seasons, and Koolina golf course, I love the drive everyday here to drop off my daughter. Teachers are very nice and I couldn't be more happier to have my daughter here."
"Our daughter attends the pre-K program at Alphabetland school. After she missed the kindergarten age cut-off, we decided to remove her from her previous daycare and enroll her in a program that would use a curriculum to prepare her for what she would learn in elementary school. Alphabetland was not only accepting new students, but affordable with full day care until 5:30pm (for full time working parents). Now, 6 months later I am so impressed at what she has learned during her time in class. The pre-k classroom is colorful and organized with a teacher desk and individual student desks, to prepare the children for elementary school structure and classroom etiquette. The children in the pre-K class are all about 5 years old, or about to turn 5. They have lessons throughout the day that cover reading, writing, math, and even history. Of course they have outdoor play and art and free indoor play as well. They go on occasional field trips and put on special stage performances.Very happy with this school and the teachers. The school is located in the middle of apartment buildings with cars that line the main access road. However, the school has a small private lot that accommodates parents parking. Although the facilities and school location are not ideal, this school is a diamond in the rough. Highly recommend for parents looking for a good pre-kindergarten program."
"My daughter loves her preschool and she really thrives in Alphabetland's traditional classroom setting. They have great overarching educational themed modules, field trips (pre-covid), and lots educational materials. We tried a Montessori School and it didn't fit my daughter well, she learns better with a more directed style of teaching. The teachers are so great and really helped my shy daughter open up. She made some really close friends when she was pretty much a wallflower at her other school. The cost was so much cheaper than the Montessori school I sent her as well, and meals and snacks were included in tuition! They were open for essential workers during the mandatory stay at home, but now are open for all student now that many parents have to go back to the office. If you're looking for a great 3-5 year old preschool I could not recommend alphabet land more!"
"When it was time for me to return to work at 8 weeks, we struggled to find a daycare for my sons age that had an opening. By some miracle, stepping stones had an opening! Everyone was so friendly and knew my child's name and he loved them back. He smiled and got excited to spend his day with them and even saying goodbye, which to me was a good sign. This place was ALWAYS clean, never had any funky odors, and even the other parents where so friendly in passing. Toys, high chairs, counters, etc were always clean - I'm honestly not sure how they do it!Entry is gated with an access code and parking is located a short walk away. Teachers plan fun art activities with the children that get sent home for you to keep. Teachers update you throughout the day with diaper changes, feedings, and my favorite - photos - to see how their day is going, through Pro Care app. The ONLY reason we are no longer here, is because we couldn't afford it. We don't qualify for any kind of assistance and the cost was starting to add up for us. To the entire team at Stepping Stones Waipahu - we greatly appreciate the care you took of our miracle baby!"

This is a private school and you need to have Hawaiian blood to be a student here. If you get to the top of the campus you'll get a great view of the city. There's a guard station at the base of the school. You'll need a legit reason to get on to the campus or they won't let you up. This campus is massive. It's preschool through 12th grade. They even have dorms on campus. The campus is clean and beautiful. I wouldn't want to trek this place by foot as the roads curve up and down. Imagine the workout!

LOOKING BACKIf you are a parent reading this. I congratulate you for putting in the effort and caring enough to research for your keiki.I attended the middle school and high school in the 90's - 2000's... Before the elementary side existed. Here is a handful of my cherished lessons and memories from MPI.- Getting swole in the weight room.- If your pee isn't clear, you're not drinking enough water.- Running rainbows on that beautiful baseball field. - Art classes that challenged me technically, mentally, and spiritually.- Channeling my 'Ki' while making pots in ceramics class.- Learning how to throw down at Judo- Bowling a perfect game during JV practice. - MPSA hula performances.- Getting scolded for making a yearbook sports page look like a family album. - The stock market simulator extra credit game in Economic's class. - Mr Wiesner's mind bending Social Psychology classes.- Trying to score higher than Jen on pre-calculus tests.- The day Atherton got air conditioning. - Eating a Mochiko chicken plate lunch on the tables outside.- HIking from the gym to third floor Kawaiahao in under 6 minutes. ( not really )- "Learning how fo learn"- Jumping the fence after finals to go to UH campus center and shoot pool. - Reciting protein synthesis facts to Mr. Chee to raise my D to a C in Honors Bio.- Mr.Vogel telling us we should be proud when people compliment us on our vocabulary. - Getting Cary Togawa's autograph in 7th grade Latin Class- Dr. Northern's initials.- Talking to Aunty Dottie while waiting for my dad to pick me up. - Onoe sensei taking our Japanese 5 class out to lunch to celebrate. - Last but not least, the amazing dance concert previews during Chapel!A lot of my teachers found a way to keep their students engaged. It wasn't just about teaching, but teaching in a entertaining way that makes the connections last. It was about us as students discovering the things we loved through their wide range of classes to choose from.We all know the individual is what matters most. You could go to the best school in the world. Pour in all the money available. But if your son or daughter is lazy and has no class... time to crack the whip! * metaphorically speaking of course, or not... up to you * ... or make sure they go to 8th period. *** Be wary of your son or daughter trying to sneak in a free period. I know they may be overloaded with extracurricular activities... but seriously, why would you pay for your student to do nothing. That kind of habit or mentality is going to spread like a disease. Fill that up with ceramics or something. The school can't be fully responsible, it's also up to you to keep tabs on your kids. ***

If i could give 10 stars to this school i totally would. This school located is hidden in the back of the residential area inside a buddhist temple. The school is small and old looking but what inside will amazed you!! The people!! All the teachers, principal and everyone is so nice and friendly and very helpful, very professional and kind. This is our kids very first school and we are very pleased to find this school nearby our house. Tuition is also affordable in my opinion for the time that they watch our kids 6:45-7:30 drop off/ pick up 3-4:30/5 i forgot but we rarely leave them there after 4ish. I love every single teachers and teacher aid they have. Ms Jan, Ms Jen, Ms Melissa, Mr Andrew; Ms Amy, Ms Claire and also Ms Jennifer works in the office, everyone is so nice and always there to support our kids whenever needed. Even other teachers from another class always say Hi and recognize our kids by Name make us feel very welcomed! i cannot recommend enough to everyone about this school. my children always come home happy and excited to come to school. You can tell they learn a lot. Become more independent and polite, well manner and speak more words. don't look anymore! enroll your child!! you won't regret! :)

We love this school! We now have three children attending ARA in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Our youngest started four years ago and what a difference a great school makes! We were attracted to this school for these reasons:*100% of the high school graduates received scholarships to colleges. Mostly for academics and swim.*Smaller classroom sizes - to give each child the attention they may need*Longer school hours - we're both working parents and don't need to deal with the stress of after school care* No homework- this is what the longer school days are for and because quality family time is so important after a long day at school/work*Performing arts - starts from kindergarten to work on their confidence, self esteem and public speaking skills*Dedicated and passionate teachers and staff- positive teachers makes for positive early imprinting *Amazing swim program and it just goes on and on! All three of our children are thriving academically and socially. They are all very active on the competitive swim team, hula, ballet, martial arts and voice lessons, all offered at school! I grew up attending a school with about 25-30 students in a classroom so I know what it's like, and I didn't like it. The smaller class sizes is the perfect fit for what we're looking for. A more customizable education tailored for each child's potential. Seeing how much talent has been produced from this small school makes me hold ARA up on a pedestal. We want to give our kids the best opportunity and ARA offers all we can ask for. If you are considering this school for your child, I recommend giving them a call. We're so happy we did!

Jumpstart is an excellent preschool. My son has been going there for one month now and he loves it since day one. Ms. Stephanie and Kristen are super caring and always provides great communication with me via text and an app called Storypark, which captures pictures of the activities that the keiki have for the day. I really enjoy seeing these pictures and knowing what my son is learning. During COVID time, all keiki have to wash their hands and have their temperature checked before they enter the classroom, which is a very good practice. They also have a very nice grassy yard for keikis to play safely and freely outside of the classroom, which is also a big plus. My son is thriving since he attended Jumpstart and I really want to thank all of the teachers at Jumpstart for taking great care of him.

This is one of the most affordable preschools in the town area and with long school hours available (6:30am to 5:30pm) for working parents. Breakfast, lunch, and snack is included in the tuition and they are a licensed child care provider by the State. At first I was a bit skeptical because it's just basically one big room for all the kids at different ages, but they do break up into different "classes" during the day. My daughter is in the 2's class and that's another thing that I love... They accept kids as early as 2.5 years old, in pull-ups. Though my daughter is potty trained, it is a good option because a lot of preschools require potty training at 3 years old. Not sure how well the older classes are prepared for elementary school, but I feel that my soon - to - be 3 year old has been thriving since she began and I hope it continues as she moves up into the older classes.

"Thank goodness Gymboree is still around! Honestly I didn't even know it was still in business because I don't hear about it much but I would always pass by it. I tried a free trial class when my daughter was 5 months old and it was fun having her be around other babies her age. For the infants and toddlers, a parent/adult needs to accompany to the child. The instructor does like a circle time with the babies and parents which I think is a great way to get them ready for preschool (coming from a former preschool teacher). I've only had Ms. Erica for the classes but she is awesome at what she does. I'm always amazed how she remembers all the children's names lol. She sings songs, bubbles and brings out toys for the babies to play. When your child is able to walk/run, you have more time to play on the equipment and roam around.I waited till my daughter was walking (1 years old) to join Gymboree. It's a monthly membership that you can pause anytime. My daughter is super active and literally wants to climb everything at home so Gymboree is a great outlet for her!! Plus she gets to socialize with other babies and it's the cutest thing!! The class is 40 minutes unless you are in the School Skills class in the afternoon for 3-6 year olds. They also have Open Gym from 2:30pm - 3:30pm where your child has free range to use all the equipment. So if you need a place for your child to get their energy out, I definitely recommend Gymboree. Right after my daughter goes to the morning class, we get home and she passes out lol. The staff is friendly. The facility seems clean and they always wipe it down after class so it gives me a little reassurance. Signing up is easy to do online and there is ample parking (located in the same parking lot as Keiki Kingdom). If you don't want to join the membership, drop ins are available. Although it's not exactly cheap for the monthly membership, I feel like it's worth it because my daughter gets to interact with other kids and she seems to enjoy it!"
"Exemplary organization run professionally and with great attention to details. A safe, nurturing, and Aloha filled atmosphere with state of the art educational facilities and technology. Any child would be blessed to be a student here!!! All campuses are amazing!!! Can't go wrong with Cole Academy!!! They Live Aloha!"
"This is my child's first CDC! She attended the one in Aiea and she loves it! My daughter's first week is so rough! she screams and cries and throw tantrums but the number of adults supervising her made me feel confident that she is in good hands. She was semi-potty trained and happy that Ms. Jodine did not charge me for additional fee. She stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks and became completely potty-trained (thank you to the amazing teachers). They are very flexible too with picking-up and payments!"
"We love the Growing Patch! So we initially found the Growing Patch on Patch Hawaii where they list all certified childcare providers on the island. I only used 2 months of maternity leave so I needed to find a daycare that would take my baby as young as she was. We were lucky to find the Growing Patch since they take babies as young as 3 weeks old. We also learned that the owner was prior military and we were proud to go with them since we are military ourselves. We live on the west side and work closer to town so they were right in the middle and convenient for dropping off and picking up baby. Their location is a bit hidden in the back parking lot of Aiea Square area, near Queen Street Cafe but it's easy to get to since it's at the cutoff for Aiea if you're coming from either direction. This makes getting back on the freeway just as easy if you're heading town side. If you're going west, you'll either have to back track to Halawa or drive further down towards Pearl City. To start off, although this facility is a bit hidden, the front doors art covered in bright red posters showing that it's a daycare that provides 24-hour service. Yes! They will watch your child overnight if you need it. We visited the place for the first time during family tour day which was scheduled in advanced for those interested in learning about the facility, their staff and how they do things at the Growing Patch. We were the 1st ones to sign up after the orientation was completed and they offered an "observation day" before my baby officially started daycare with them. This was where they watched her for a few hours to see how she does around the care givers, being in a new place and around other children. She did great her 1st time there and the longer she went, the more she would learn to love being there. They provide you a list with the items they'll need to take care of your baby and anything else you would recommend to keep them comfortable when they're away from you. Each child has a storage cubby for their belongings. At the front door, you have to ring the doorbell to be let in and you check in on the tablet at the front desk. The facility itself is organized and separated into areas for different age groups since they take infants and up to pre-k age. My baby was enrolled into the infants area and they have a lot of things to keep the children busy from walkers, toys, beds and more! They do art work too like a regular school would and send it home with the parents. I love my baby's footprint art! The place smells clean every time I walk in and they sanitize everything at the end of each day. They have a calendar at the front that you can view to see what your child is scheduled to do that day. You can ask the front desk assistants for a curriculum to take home with you too. They even have scheduled field trips for the kids and notify parents via email and the app for permission. Their last field trip was to the Pumpkin Patch back in October 2024. They use an app called Child Pilot to help you keep track of what you're child is doing during the day and to contact you if needed. If you don't bring lunch for your child, they provide meals specially made by the Queen Street Cafe but this is for the toddler ages. The staff here if so friendly and they love the kids very because it shows. When I drop my baby off in the morning, she already knows where she is and loves to smile at all the caregivers. She's even excited to see all the other children and does not cry when I leave. After only a couple months here, my baby is the most friendliest and social child and I love how her smile can brighten up anyone's day when they see her. They hold parent teacher conference to talk about your child's progress here at the Growing Patch. They even ask about the milestones you expect your baby to reach and they'll help them work on that. These meetings are nice and as a first time parent, it's funny to see things from this aspect because I remember my parent teacher conferences with my parents and most of them weren't good since I was naughty lol. I love the relationships they build here otherwise and I haven't had any bad experiences with the Growing Patch so far. We recommend their services to all parents with toddlers or younger and we hope they open more facilities on island in the future. I also wanted to mention that they have a Facebook and Instagram page to see updates and events on your social media. Please see the photos I posted for more info.Thank you to the Growing Patch Ohana and their owner, Mrs. Dominica for all you do!"
"LOVE everything about this school; the curriculum, the vibe, & the amazing faculty & staff. They make you, your child, & other family members feel like one big ohana. They get to know every child on a personal level & they do a good job communicating with the parents. Extra aloha to Ms. Kalai, Ms. Diane, Ms. Annisa, Ms. Heather, Ms. Grace, Ms. Tasha. Mahalo nui loa for all the love, patience, understanding, & great memories. I am so grateful to have found this gem & feel so blessed that my children had the privilege of attending this awesome preschool!!"
"This is one of the top preschools on the island! The curriculum is rigorous and fun, but most importantly, the teachers and administration care deeply about the kids. This is not a daycare; it's a learning center! Yes, it's preschool, but preschoolers learn through play! The classrooms are centers based, where kids play in a center that focuses on a specific skill. They might be doing puzzles, or patterns, or letter recognition, but if you ask them, they're just playing! This preschool has a very secure location, where the front door has a camera, parents must be buzzed in to enter, and any visitors must be signed in by administrators. Parents and family members who are designated to drop off/pickup must sign students in and out daily. The site has a separate playroom which is a few doors down in the same building, so kids can have their playtime rain or shine!SOS also has speech pathologists on staff, so if your child needs a little extra speech help to get on level with their peers, they can accommodate that! If you decide to bring your child here, know that they will learn a lot, will be well cared for, but most importantly, they'll be loved!"
"In light of the education referendum that was defeated, I feel that it is helpful to write a review for a good organization that tries it's best to help our keiki. Here's the good. Our keiki has different breaks compared to the mainland that has all of June/ July/ August. They have a great opportunity to keep keiki involved in learning and expanding their horizons that otherwise would not be broadened but kept complacent by sitting just watching tv. Keiki get enough screen time as they are calling it now. But Kamaaina Kids really helps get keiki engaged and active through play and learning when not in school proper. All of our communities need different organization to help our littlest ones be able to learn and grow - outside the home to be able to get ready for in building schools. There are tons of children- especially boys that get mommy sick and worried when it is time to go to kindergarten for example and have to go away for a while. This is so traumatic usually because the parents have not taken their children to opportunities like Kamaaina for short term trips away from the Ohana so that it is not so stressful going for longer time periods like school. Socialization is soooooo important to the social health and well being of our keiki at such a critical age. New info-Early Childhood Education is organized curriculum from Federal DOE that includes English and Math to prepare for K that is regulated like Head Start and Early Head Start.Preschool is well- school setting by people other than the parents that is before real schooling. Some parents consider it day care. Not that learning can't happen- children learn all the time at that age, but it is not considered mandated curriculum. Why is it important? The difference comes down to how much responsibility is involved. The department of education is responsible for the "commons" things that communities agree it can not organize by itself. Other commons include highways, prisons, the FAA, and other things that in general communities need government to establish for the common good so that we can find life, liberty, and pursue happiness. So again- you can ask, why is this important. As far as I read it, the ballot initiative asked can state money go towards private preschools. Until our HI constitution allows for a savings account from taxes, nothing in our 'commons' is safe let alone spending more money on things that are not covered in the current commons that are not yet funded. Please do not get me wrong, Kamaaina Kids has a valuable and important part in afterschool programs and week long fun educational activities but it doesn't teach first grade yet and hold to current accountability standards that federal DOE holds for real school. And they shouldn't- after school programs are supposed to be fun, parents and communities and grants can pay for these activities. Or time can be donated for afterschool sports. This is a quite big issue with many players, and I am only an independent makua that has a small opinion. Kamaaina does a great job of caring for our keiki in outdoor sporting events and science field trips. It is wonderful to be able to have options for what to do in the time im-between school semesters. It seems that sometimes there is 1 adult to 9 keiki- that is a wonderful ratio and I wish our HI DOE had ratios like that and then we would have better reading and math scores. Again- visit the program for yourself and see that there are great activities for our Keiki. http://www.kamaainakids.com/LocationKama'aina Kids Corporate Office156 Hamakua Dr. Suite CKailua, HI 96734Ph: (808) 262-4538Toll Free: (888) 345-4374Fx: (808) 261-2051About UsKama'aina Kids is a private, non-profit, multi-service organization dedicated to serving children and their families through quality childcare programs. "Really a spectacular school! We attended for a relatively short period, as we had to unexpectedly return to mainland. However, our children routinely still reflect on their experiences there and miss their teachers and classmates very much many weeks after we returned home.100% would recommend to any family looking for a loving, caring and overall nourishing program for their kiddos. To the staff - thank you for the positive impressions and memories you bestowed on our children. We're in debt to each of you."
"It's the official second week of school since my 3 yr. old daughter has started her school life. (: So far, so good. Rosary Preschool is run by the Dominican Sisters who are amazing, helpful and oh so dearly friendly! There are three classrooms, two are for 4 yr. olds and one are for the 3 yr. olds. They have a conference room (area) as well, which I'm sure they'll be holding their Christmas Program there this years, I'm sure they've held it there from the years before. Also a great play area space located in the back of the school. The 'whole' preschool is not much, but it's enough for the toddlers to easily get used to & nothing is ever too far or too near. (:My daughter already loves school and enjoys the activities and lessons she's learning. There's always three teachers to each classroom & they surely do care for each child dearly. The atmosphere is so calm with patience, it's lovely. (:They also have the option for the kids to bring home lunch, or they had a monthly meal plan, which is approved by a nutritionist to set what is served on what day. Oh, the kids are eating the goods too I'm telling you! Shoyu Chicken, Chicken Adobo, Mac & Cheese, Chicken Nuggets...yeah so good right! They get really healthy snacks of fruits/crackers/cookies w/ milk &/or juice. So good!(:"
"Known around the community Mililani Baptist Preschool is as good as it gets when it comes to finding a preschool for your child. Recently a new director, Curt Fajardo, was added to the staff. The preschool is housed in the Mililani Baptist Church building with a great lanai and playground for the kids. Recently they renovated part of the lanai area and the child bathrooms. There is often times a wait list so contact them as soon as possible if you're thinking about enrollment here."

I also can see how the preschool program is as I'm in the building and all the people are the lovely people ever with kids!!!"
"My 3 year old son has been coming here since February, and we love it. The teachers are really nice and caring. The location is incredibly convenient (in our neighborhood!) and they seem to do a lot of fun activities, because every day my son is bursting at the seams to tell me all about it. There is good communication between staff and parents (as long as the parent is trying to communicate, anyway). I have no complaints about this place, and obviously I trust it enough to bring my child there daily!1/31 Review Challenge!"
"Daycare for children. The best part of Cole is they take small kids under 2 years old. The care takers are personable and do their best to help the small kids around and have lesson plans to help them progress in this very early part of the journey. Some of the great people there Ms. Liz, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Elli, Solomon and Ms. Diane. They are flexible and understand that kids are all different and the parents also have different schedules. Highly recommend this daycare to anyone needing daycare for a small one in the area."
"Moanalua preschool has been absolutely amazing for our family, especially during these uncertain times. Their enrollment policy during COVID-19 crisis has been very flexible, with the safety and financial well of the families in mind. My 3 year old loves it here! They really know how to work with preschool age children. Thank you all Moanalua Preschool teachers and director Chanelle."
"This is a great center to send your child. I was able to meet the owner, who is very kind. The staff here are all great! We came from another preschool and we're glad we switched to them. In fact, we wish we took our child here from the beginning! Very patient and knowledgeable teachers, staff and director."
"Best decision my daughters mother and me made, nothing but a great experience. It was a great bounce back and refreshing start from out previous baby sitter. My daughter is 1 and is loving the interaction with the other kids. The teachers who watch the students are on it, monitoring them and taking notes for the parents as well. The price of tuition for her age is higher then some baby sitters but it's worth every penny. It's like buying a new car vs a used car you pay for what you get. Such a great experience and learning process for my baby girl. I think this program is best for her cognitive development. I'm very satisfied and pleased with St. Timothy, Kamaina kids."
"We enrolled our son at 6 months old and have been really happy with his care. The infant teachers are all wonderful and caring. You can see how much they love the kids. As he's gotten older he's continued to love going to RLA. He's always happy to see his teachers and is all smiles when we drop him off. I really appreciate that they provide meals (breakfast and lunch / snacks). The lunches are impressive (IMO) and expose my son to a lot of foods we don't have at home. On another note, we liked RLA so much that we enrolled my daughter for the summer before she started kindergarten. The class size was small (which has both plusses and minuses, depending on what is important to you). Mainly we liked the curriculum and the amount of hands on activities they were able to do with a small class size. The teacher incorporated some pre-k activities since I wanted to make sure my daughter was prepared for Kindergarten."
"This place is simply amazing! They are a nationally accredited early childhood education and care facility. The director of the Kunia location, Dr. Janelle Akuna, and her staff of teachers are extremely patient and are always looking for new and different ways to educate the children! They not only teach the reading, writing and arithmetic, they teach the children foreign language, science, history and most importantly, social skills. Far to often are children left behind or isolated because they lack social skills, and the Cole Academy incorporates this basic skill into their curriculum. Teaching the essentials like sharing, working with one another, and communicating problems with one another. Both of my children have attended the Cole Academy in Kunia and I cannot begin to put into words the positive impact that they have made on my children."
"We went here our first year ....went to another school this year and now I'm trying to get back in. It's that good of a school! Not only do they teach the kids ABC's and 123's but they teach them foreign language and Hawaiian. You cannot put a price tag on the future potential of being bi-lingual or tri-lingual! They also reinforce potty training and good nutrition. The major aha moment...my child asks to go back every-time we drive by. That says something meaningful coming from a toddler!"
"Balance is what I see, play, reading and writing with a Christian foundation makes it special."
"Two of our kids are currently attending this school and in a few years two more of our kids will definitely be going here as well. Our oldest boy was very kolohe at home and did not take well to our time outs and other (non-abusive) discipline techniques. After just a month with Ms. Deedee and the preschool we saw huge differences in his attitude as well as an understanding of consequences for bad behaviors. Maybe he just needed an environment with other kids (which could be any preschool), but we are real grateful for what this school does. Aside from that, this preschool really goes out of the way to accommodate the needs of the parents. Although their policies say one thing, they are understanding of dire situations and are willing to make exceptions for the parents/students. We really like Michele the director of the preschool she encourages her teachers, treats everybody kindly and is always looking to make the school better. Recently the school did some fundraising to get a new playground, and they let all the parents vote what kind of playground they should get. They ended up voting on a tricycle path which I see all the kids racing on. It's a fun preschool with great education, my daughter's artwork has changed from little blobs on the paper to colorful stick figures. I highly recommend this school."
"A very small preschool located in the shopping center near Cutter Ford and across the street from Shiro's Saimin which takes 3 units. My son has been going to this school since he was 2.5 years old till the day before he started Kindergarten. To start off my son is very opihi and a very picky eater. At when he first started as a toddler he mostly drank milk from a sippy cup, in full on diapers, and could barely speak any words at all. For MONTHS he cried everyday when I dropped him off and was so grouchy after school because he didnt nap or eat due to this new environment he has never been in, let alone with anyone else in his life. On his very last day of preschool he was speaking full sentences, opened up his personality, fully potty trained, learned to have new aunties and uncles, knew his ABCs, numbers and colors and even knew all the words to the Hawaii Pono'i and America the beautiful along with other small songs from his school. Did all of this happen overnight? No, but over the course of 2.5 years he has grown so much thanks to this preschool. They understood he learned at his own pace and included him in all the activities till he understood what was needed to be done. Has he opened up his appetite? No lol, but regardless they always offered breakfast, lunch and snack time as well to open him to the possibility of eating new foods.Their hours may say 6am-6pm but in reality they take kids in from 630am-430pm. They have the most affordable tuition around and accept pretty much all child subsidies Hawaii has to offer to help low income parents except the Pauahi Scholarships. It was thanks to Cathy who has told me about it in the first place which helped a lot as a single mother paying for my son's tuition. As the years went by (especially this year) they've upgraded a lot of their areas in the school from signage, outside cameras, alarm system, and kids cubbies which was very nice to see. The staff has been consistent except for 1 seasonal teacher that always comes and goes and my son will always hug all his teachers with a smile upon me picking him up.A great choice for a small affordable school for your little one. Communication could be better between teachers and teacher to parent though. Sometimes a conversation can be forgotten or unspoken but as a parent that what you must follow up on to make sure everything stays up to par. If you want to know how your child is doing in school you have to ask yourself. Thanks for helping my little buddy grow Keiki Aloha. He's come a long way and I appreciate how far he has some with your help."
"Kiddie Academy of Honolulu opened it's doors to Hawaii families a little over a year ago. I have had the fortunate experience of being a part of the schools opening. I have been in the field for over 23 years and worked at several daycares/preschools in Hawaii. I can honestly say that I have never met owners that are so caring and passionate about caring for children. The Weaver Family has been amazing and they are extremely involved in the day to day operations of the school. Classroom sizes are small and there is more than enough staff. At first the thought of parents having access to live feeds was uneasy but honestly it's a great feature. Overall, amazing place to work!"
