"I came back to Hawaii just so I could get the soy sauce poke by the pound and rice. It is really filling and perfect after you have had a long day at the beach and need a place to eat or if you are headed to the beach, you can stick it in a cooler and it is already marinated. Some people want it marinated fresh, but I kind of like that the soy sauce is soaked up by the big chunks of tuna. There is a little spice which is good. They have variety as well. No bathroom here so just be aware."
"Food 4/5 stars: poke is a little above average taste. Somewhat decently priced. They also have plenty of musubi and some cooked fish options. Location 4/5 stars:Conveniently located near Costco. Parking can be limited because this. Plenty of tables inside and outside. Restaurant is clean. Service 2/5 stars:Cashier was really rude and not helpful. No Aloha spirit. No more viral mango or peach ice cream. They said they do not plan to re order. I found some at H mart kalihi."

"So we stopped by earlier this year but parking lot seemed packed so we didn't go the first time. Yesterday we went at 5pm and it was pretty empty for a Saturday but maybe because the summer tourist season is over. Specifically chose this place to try because of the Tiki Bar ambiance and vintage feel. We did have drinks/pupu and main course. Food was fine for your average bar-type place but my Fish & Chips (i switched out for rings) had 3 very large pieces of Ono (not cod) and lots of rings! My friend had the shrimp/bacon/avocado sandwich which would have been better if it was done as a melt with cheese. The mixed drinks were stronger than your average bar and were good and not watered down. Service was prompt and friendly (maybe because it wasn't crowded) and enjoyed it. Too bad the gift shop closed when we left but took a quick look inside as we arrived...oh well next time! Definitely go check it out for the Tiki decor ambiance and don't judge solely on the limited food offerings (but they do have regular specials)."
"Delicious! Highly recommend this little gem. The service was quick, and the lady at the counter was kind and super helpful. Definitely give this place a try!"
"Located in Pearl city near Kozo sushi, similar concept from all the other locations, they sell fresh poke, home made musubis which is yummy, hot plate lunches, and some pickled goods. I love the musubis. Got the won ton chips today that didn't taste good at all. Dont eat poke but their poke looks yummy! Service at this location is slow and not great. There is a few tables to have your meal."
"Usually I spot a large line out the door for Ocean Taste, but I was finally able to visit on a slower day! The store is pretty spacious but there are only a few seating options. I ordered the Kaisen Don which was pretty big and everything was fresh and delicious - I was able to save some to share with my partner as I couldn't finish it all for lunch. Probably one of my favorite poke shops in Honolulu."
"Excellent food, quality service, great ambiance! They have Korean food here too which is one of my favorite cuisines and the vegetarian poke tastes amazing!!!!"
"On our way out of Waianae we always try to make a stop at Mike's Fresh fish. The service is great and the fish is delicious and fresh! Thank you for the great food and easy location. If you want to you can eat it right there at the park by the ocean can't beat that ambiance."
"What a fun concept...Indeed it really is though this place has been on my long list of places I somehow keep forgetting and am so glad that I didn't remember lol but almost drove right past it as I've been contemplating on dinner for the night. Located on busy Kapahulu in the newly built building along with a few parking making it an easy especially finding street parking here can be tough.Walking up to the restaurant I immediately noticed the outdoor seating which has the chairs chained to the tables...interesting, there's also images of some of the menu items which already has caught my hungry mode and went in to see quite a busy place and since it was about an hour to closing many of the grab and go items we discounted...ooohhh! Out of it all what caught my eye was a Poke bowl layered with salad versus the traditional rice and it was generously topped with spicy ahi and salmon combo originally at $10 was at $8! What a deal though I really came for Kalbi since it's mom's favorite and scanned the menu noticed Naengmyeon & Kalbi Combo which comes with two pieces of Kalbi grilled to a delicious flavorfulness that we both enjoyed (I got just a nibble) the Naengmyeon was the refreshing meal I was craving for without being too heavy though the amount of noodles given was so generous and cooked to a slight al dente perfection. The broth wasn't spicy but had a dollop of spice on top along with daikon, cucumber and half a boiled egg.Everything was packed so nice and thoughtful we really enjoyed it all and will be back again for sure.Thank you!"
"Incredibly fast and convenient, this team of happy professionals did an excellent job with my Pu'unui Bowl for lunch.During my first visit, the gracious cashier shared with me, specials of the day and a sample of their Lomi Salmon.I appreciated the option to have tossed greens instead of rice. The variety of mixed greens were fresh and not wilted. The generous chunks of salmon were nicely seasoned to order and the avocado was a nice touch. I requested they hold the cream cheese. For the side, I selected their seaweed salad. They were quite generous with this :) Loved the ikura on top to complete my bowl!Thank you for a delicious and healthy lunch. I appreciate the quick and convenient location as I walk over during my lunch break. Will certainly return to taste other menu items."
"So, we went to the Magical Boo Bash at Pearlridge this past weekend and came across the T8ste Buds food tent. Sushi Tacos? Hmmm.. definitely different and caught our attention. So we had to check it out.We ordered the Spicy Tuna Tacos and also got the Kim Chee Tofu & Cali Crab to try. Let me get serious here for a little bit guys. Please believe me when I say, I was immediately transformed at the very first bite. Talk about sushi taco heaven. First off, the presentation was absolutely pleasing to the eye. As you take your first bite, the crunch of the taco, which consists of deep fried rice paper & nori, was just....perfection. The sushi filling itself, sends you on a flight straight to flavor town. Pure Genius if you ask me. The kim chee tofu taco is a great choice for all you Vegans. I would order that again just for the flavor alone. The spicy tuna had the perfect yummy amount of spice that I like. And the Cali Crab...yup..scrumptious and loaded with crab. These culinary masterminds at T8ste Buds know exactly what they're doing! Great service and our hats go off to them. Go check them out you guys! They are always at the various food truck festivals and markets that are going on every month. Follow them on IG to find out where they'll be. You're Welcome!"
"Kai Poke is a fantastic spot to enjoy fresh and flavorful poke bowls. They offer a Mini Poke for $12.99, which comes with one protein--my favorite being the lemon shoyu salmon. The combination of zesty lemon and savory shoyu with the fresh salmon is simply delightful but they don't have scallop or crab!!! I like the other poke place more in the Alomoana mall but, the location is conveniently close to all the action, making it a great choice for a quick and satisfying meal. Highly recommend giving it a try if you need a small bite to keep you going."

Amazing poke! My favorite on the island and definitely so fresh and not over powering with other ingredients. Tried this 5 years ago and happy to be back to try it every day of my trip! Love the limu and tako! I get the kimchi as a side vs the rice.

My Husband and I stumbled upon this place about (3) months ago while shopping at Costco Hawaii Kai. We've visited the Nuuanu and Pearl city locations too. Food is always on point. I always get the (2) choice poke bowl with sushi rice (spicy ahi and Hawaiian Alaea). The Hawaiian Alaea is my Favorite. My husband usually gets the short rib plate or the poke nachos. The Fish is always fresh and flavors are always consistent, even when eating at the other locations. I also love the tuna mac salad. We always get a side of that when we visit. The customer service is always great too. Most places tend to lack in this area. It's always nice to be greeted and thanked for visiting. We came a few times when they were busy and it was nice to be addressed and told they would be with us in a moment. Most food places you walk-in to these days tend to just ignore you, continue what they do without even making eye contact or no apology or anything. I really like this place and the ambiance. Price is what you'd expect it to be. It's fresh and these days wherever you go you spend pretty much the same amount. Thanks for the great food and customer service

Ocean Taste is one of the newest biz in South Shore Market, sharing the space with Nalu Health Bar & Cafe, Lemon Supply, Off the Wall, etc. I haven't visited since they had their old location, but this area seems like a much more profitable spot for them. So popular here - there are usually lines out the door for them! They still have the coveted Aburi Series (torched bowls) which was are insanely addictive! We got the Spicy Salmon Crème Brûlée and Torched Garlic Butter Ahi. The Spicy Salmon Crème Brûlée bowl was delicious - rich, buttery, and the sweet sugar cracked top from the brûlée added a unique taste that's different from other poke bowl places. Not spicy at all, more sweet and savory. Alas, the only downside is the bowls are pretty small making it hard to feel satisfied and full for the price of ($18 each). Since moving to Ward location, we can expect a spike in prices so it's a few dollars more than their old locations. Overhead and fresh fish ain't cheap, so I get it! Plenty of free and ample parking in the garage which is nice. I would recommend trying it out! I could see myself coming back while shopping in the area if I want a snack, but not full meal.

"Well-made, poke! Prompt service, and love the ambience of the food truck area! Cool spot!!"
"Truly a hidden gem and I wish we had time to come back for a second time to eat her!I got a build your own poke with salmon and spicy mayo and omg! It was so fresh and so good! The best part was the portion was huge! My husband got the beef bowl and it was so flavorful! If you decide to stop by get their spamusbi too! It was the best we had on the island! It's located in a small shopping center. Parking is a little hard but doable. The service was just as good as the food. It was completely empty when we during dinner time. So if you don't like crowds here's the place to come!"
"Local spot for fish and halpia. I would travel all the way back here from the main land just for their halpia. It's not too sweet , and the texture of it is perfect . Service is quick/ efficient. The store is simple yet clean"
"I love how fresh and clean the sashimi is at Hou Fish Market! I thoroughly enjoyed my sashimi (tuna, salmon, hamachi) salad this evening! So Oishi and satisfying, and I also enjoyed the fresh & crispy salad with miso dressing too. I'm on a keto diet, so this meal was perfect! Loved it from beginning to end, and I can't wait to come back again very soon! Mahalo nui loa!"
"One of two main grocery stores in Waianae. Smaller and much more personable. Deli with plate lunches is on point! No loooong line like Tamura's AND more food in each plate. The full service bakery is also good, get the oatmeal raisin cookies or the glazed donuts. Their morning bentos are also delicious. This sore usually has close-dates and sometimes funky flavors of drinks and sodas. Liquor department is pretty good, large variety."
"I love that Paradise Poke (PP) is in Pearl City! I was looking for something to eat for breakfast but it was super early (6am-ish). I didn't feel like McDonald's or dealing with 7-11's parking lot so Paradise Poke was perfect! When I arrived 6:30am-ish there was a bunch of onigiri available along with some salmon bentos. I love that they have cold sides (desserts/kimchi) too. I got a baked salmon onigiri and a salmon/ikura one. The baked salmon onigiri was filled with moist salmon. I really liked that the salmon was moist! I've had similar onigiri from other places and it's always so dry, but PP's one was perfect! The salmon/ikura onigiri was also amazing! There was a decent amount of ikura in it which made me so happy! The girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful. Since I was there, I also got some beef jerky that they had in the case.Location wise, they're by the Pearl City Walmart/Sam's Gas Station. But specifically they're in the area next to Panda's and Crumbl. I'll be sure to go back in the future to try their other goodies!"
"I'm a little hesitant on doing this review. I don't want this little secret out! Simply put, 2 choice poke bowl, using previously frozen ahi, for $12.99! Plenty of good choices for whatever your tastes are. Service is good. They do their best to get you in and out quickly. Not much to say about ambiance. It's takeout only..."
"I'm a "lover" of Ahi Lovers! Fresh, yummy, and total dealz! How can you not love them? Located across the street from the Pacific Guardian Center, you'll find this cute little shop. Due to COVID, the one table in the shop may or may not be available for use. It's best if you take it back to your office to eat or possibly find some seating across the street on the planter walls. In regard to parking...#gl, it's downtown. Jk. The closest without validation may be the post office..with their metered stalls. Or else there is parking in the building and in the other buildings. Like I mention, the fish is fresh which is something I love. You're also not paying super crazy prices either. They have all types of plates, from bowls (rice or salad) to nigiris. Thank goodness I'm somewhat far away from them...or it'd be so hard to pass them up every week! I'm not sure if they're related, but they also remind me of Ahi and Vegetable on Fort Street Mall. If you're a sushi/fish "lover", be sure to check them out!"
"I wanted a salad for lunch and decided to try this place out. The menu is very similar to Ahi & Vegetable.I was greeted by a nice man who appeared to be the owner after speaking with him. I ordered the salmon/hamachi sashimi salad with a side of spicy ahi. The fish was fresh and I love their vinegarette dressing. The lettuce was fresh as well and not wilted at all. The food came out about 10 min later which was fine. There seemed to be just one person working in the back and they had many orders before me.This is only a take out window in the Pearlridge Makai Food Court. All of the tables for eating are in the center of the food court. The take out counter had a chiller with poke bowls and bentos ready for sale as well. The lighting for the restaurant is bright and the menus are clear. Although it is located in the food court, the noise level was fine. The food that I ordered was delish and fresh and I would definelty get it again."
"Our Sailor recommended Young's for lunch as soon as we landed. We all enjoyed the pork special and wow, it was a lot of food! The place gets packed too. I loved the dried pork the most. Great local place."
"What a cute place to enjoy some great drinks or lunch! We decided to order some drinks and poke bowls to go. By the time we sat down to eat it, we were beyond hungry. The first bite was to die for. So flavorful and fresh! We all enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Service was good. Nothing special but they got the job done. Great ambiance for having lunch with friends too."
"If you like building your own poke bowl, then this is the place for you to choose whatever you want! For a large bowl to choose as many toppings and sauces with your choice of fish, it's perfect nutritious meal with fast service and quality fish! Plus, you can enjoy your bowl at Kuhio Beach that's right across the street. They also provide online order, but it is only offered at the other location at Lewers St. on their website at: https://www.ilovepokebar.com/locations/waikiki. SEATING: about 2-3 tables located outside of the shopPARKING: limited parking meters on Ohua Ave."
"Poke from a truck in Hawaii? Yeah I'm game. Walked from the hotel to this cute little food truck square one night for dinner. Out of all the options, Five Star Poke looked the most interesting. We might've been early for dinner? They were still cooking rice (might have just ran out of the last batch) and asked if we were okay to wait. They have many flavors of poke-- staff is friendly and even walked us through all the options so we could make the best decision. We ended up getting both salmon and tuna. They even gave us a free drink on the house for the wait. Poke was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh, fish to rice ratio was 5/5, and portion size was healthy.Would come here again for poke when we're on the island."
"Located next to Dipped by Dee's in Aiea. Lots of parking outside of Queen Street Cafe and Grill. I got the shrimp... super yummy! The service was great, as I entered the Aunty took my order and gave suggestions on what to order. I didnt realize a lot of people come here."
"Sadly, the first time I was here she was closed from Monday October 31 Halloween to Wednesday November 2nd. I was here on Tuesday November 1st that's okay. Second time, here on Friday November 11 Veterans Day and there was a parade from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The traffic in Wahiawa was crazy. I got to try the food from Arlene's Mini Market and Kitchen I got the spicy ahi poke bowl wth taegu and kalua pig. It's freshly made to order and you can watch her make your order. The rice and kalua pig was hot. The spicy ahi poke and taegu was cold. The rice was cooked perfectly and the kalua pig was good! You could tell that the ahi was fresh from the ocean to the table freshness! You could tell by the taste and the texture of the fish. The texture is the biggest giveaway to how fresh a fish really is!! The taegu was soft and had a good flavor to it. I really hope that more of my coworkers, friends and other people come to try this wonderful place and get to experience what the freshest fish is like!! I got to talk to the owner Arlene and she is a really nice lady! I hope you come to support her small local business. Then it can become a large local business next. I love to support local!! When I know, I will be in the Wahiawa area after 11:00am. I will be sure to come back here again."
"This is a review for the Pokeway located at Pioneer Plaza on Fort Street Mall. My coworker and I picked up lunch from this location and I was going to post my pics but I couldn't find a Yelp page for this poke shop (only the other [original] location at Bishop Square in Pauahi Tower. When we got to the Pioneer Plaza Pokeway, we were the only ones in line. There were two ladies at the counter ready to take our order. I ordered the two choice poke bowl with spicy ahi and shoyu salmon. The cubed fish pieces are not pre-mixed and sitting around in the sauce. The ladies behind the counter took the plain poke pieces and mixed it with the sauce that you choose (so the ahi was mixed with the spicy mayonnaise sauce and the salmon was mixed with shoyu sauce) and is placed on a bed of rice. You can choose your rice (I chose sushi rice), your salad (I chose Spring greens) or you can pick all rice or all salad. You then select 3 toppings. I chose edamame, imitation crab salad and ogo (seaweed). Lastly, you can pick smaller toppings like furikake (dried seaweed), tempura bits, garlic chips, etc. I added the tempura bits and garlic chips on top my poke bowl. The ladies were friendly and they put together my poke bowl really quick! There are tables and chairs near this Pokeway location, so we grabbed the table that's adjacent to this shop to enjoy our lunch. My coworker ate his poke bowl section by section. I, on the other hand, mixed everything together and ate my poke bowl that way. The salad and toppings tasted fresh, the sushi rice was cooked well, the poke pieces were soft and easy to eat (not stringy like some of the other places in downtown), and the spicy sauce and soy sauce went well with the fish, rice and greens. The crab salad, ogo, tempura bits, and edamame added additional crunch and texture to the poke bowl and the garlic chips kicked up the flavor a notch. Note: do not add the garlic chips if you have an afternoon meeting because you'll have garlic breath all afternoon! Ha ha. This (relatively new) Pokeway is a great addition to the existing and growing list of restaurants and food counters at Pioneer Plaza. The recent addition of Seoul Kimbap to this downtown food court makes it great choice when you and your coworkers can't decide where to eat. You can choose from sandwiches, local plate lunch, Korean, Chinese, Italian, bentos, Vietnamese. Recommend this location of Pokeway for a quick and tasty alternative to a heavy, coma inducing plate lunch. Ha ha :)"
"Is it worth the 35 mile each way, 1:15 hour drive following self absorbed tourists driving 15mph below the speed limit, slamming on the breaks because said drivers need to slow to 10mph to go over speed humps and dodging others who think crosswalks are a suggestion that doesn't apply to them?If you want the best ahi katsu on the island, yes.A huge slab of fresh ahi (an inch thick weighing between 14-16oz), coated and deep fried golden brown. Either cooked medium or well. Sauced with a savory tonkatsu sauce and wasabi aioli. Sat on a bed of rice and tossed salad. Perfect seasoning. Outstanding freshness. Not into katsu? Fresh fish can also be prepared in garlic butter. Raw filets and chunks available for purchase. Sashimi and some solid tasting poke as well.Located in the same green building as Cackle Fresh Eggs in Laie.Great value for money at only $15 for a regular plate.Amanda and Felix, you got this one right! Highly recommended the next time you have the urge to play tourist."
"Stopped by last weekend at Morning Catch in Chinatown for some poke and was really impressed. Be sure to check their opening days/hours before you go because we did catch them on an off day the first time we tried. They are located inside an unassuming market so get that Google maps handy as you make your way here! We ended up parking at a municipal parking lot nearby for cheap.I went with the king salmon and ahi limu mix (A): The salmon was so good and probably one of the best I've had, and the ahi had that perfect firm texture. You can tell this is all fresh because they make everything to order, so do expect a short wait. The flavors were just spot on and the seasoning was simple but packed with flavor. A few days later, some friends came to visit, and I recommended Morning Catch to them. They went and absolutely loved it - they even said it was the best poke they had the entire trip! If you're in Chinatown and craving poke, this spot is a must. Definitely one of the best on the island!"
"So good so fresh so many variety of vegetables so many variety of fish everything the correct temperature everything the correct texture really crispy namasu Taco on kimchi potato salad Wasabi aioli seared Ahi Ahi Patty spicy Ahi with Toby Coco and plenty green onion everything really high quality the chef used to work at Roy's"
"Tourist review! Nestled in the Wayfinder hotel, this restaurant is separate from the hotel but a wonderful addition. A nice respite from the Waikiki crowds, as this is closer to the canal vs beachside. Plenty of open air indoor seating, a few tables outside and a nice bar area, it's definitely got vacation vibes that I prefer over either a fast casual or even just a regular restaurant. They are serving up poke, other eats like a Cobb salad and a burger, a whole array of fried apps and of course beverages.*The poke, while not cheap, is great with huge chunks of fresh fish atop perfectly cooked rice. The only draws back is that toppings are limited both in options and what is included in the price. If you want more it's an additional $2. Overall the poke bowl with a few add-ons ended up being $30, but it was so filling and ended up being my lunch a dinner. Overall, I put it at a 4.5. * I didn't imbibe in cocktails or happy hour, but the Diet Coke was flat. No bueno."
"Looking to satisfy my poke cravings, I stumbled upon this spot in the Ala Moana food court. The location is pretty cool, and the team here is super friendly--seriously, they've got that aloha spirit down! The poke boxes are huge, definitely enough for two meals or to share, and the variety is off the charts. You can customize your box with all kinds of toppings, sauce, and extras.I went for the Makai box, while my dad tried the Mauka box. He said his was just okay, and honestly, I think I might have gotten a bad scoop because my fish wasn't the freshest. After reading some other reviews, it seems like they might be mixing fresh poke with the frozen stuff--bit of a bummer there. Plus, it's a bit pricey for what you get; after taxes and tips, a medium box runs about $20. But hey, other than those minor hiccups, this place is a solid find and definitely worth a try, especially if you're into big portions and lots of choices. Just maybe bring a friend to help you finish it, or you'll be hauling leftovers around the mall--because, you know, if you're paying $20, you're eating every last bite!"
"Late night munchies meets gourmet dining. It's almost a shame that this amazing truck is only available so late at night. Especially since I'm visiting from SoCal. But it's worth adding another meal into your day, or should I say, night. Then order more food for your lunch the next day. After a night out at the club with friends or lounging at the hotel pool, get your foodie fix here. The ahi bomb was my favorite. Locals and visitors alike, come check it out. And don't forget to tell a friend. Cheers to the owner and best wishes to your growth."
"giving 3/5 stars since the price point and portions do not quite hit the mark, and my wasabi ahi was wayyyyy too overpowering that it was a bit unpleasant to eat. but truly - i spent my first few days of my oahu visit eating the wasabi salmon from foodland (which is honestly a 5/5 experience every single time). so i think im feeling a bit of comparison bias here. however, ono is a small business, and the ahi did taste very fresh. they even have a small parking lot out front which is so nice to see in oahu. id say try all the poke spots on the island, and definitely make ono a stop.service is fast, the place itself is small since its a take out spot. they do have benches out front!!"
