"Honestly, I'm not into this artsy fartsy flower crap, but my friend Jennifer C. is into that, so one bright Sunday afternoon I told my friend that I would take her into Waimanalo to look at some of this flowery stuff that she was looking for.Located on a back road in Waimanalo, you can find this business called - "Once Again Succulents".I must say, finding this flower/plant store could be rather difficult if you don't have access to a GPS device............believe me, as you drive to look for this business, you'll end up eventually driving on some dirt road until you find this flower/plant farm.Once you find this place, I must say this flower/plant farm sure has some cute artsy fartsy flowery stuff, and the lady who works here (I think her name was Lynn), sure knows her plants, and was very knowledgeable & friendly! My friend had to have her ceramic pots drilled out (they can do that for you for a nominal fee), and she also picked up a few succulent plants. Looks like these succulent plants don't require a lot of water (which it is good thing) especially if you're a person who doesn't have too much time to water plants. Lol!The nice thing about coming here is if you have a large party or something, and wanna make cool small party favors with a succulent plant, they have it here, and they will sell it to you in bulk. This business - "Once Again Hawaii" promotes recycling containers for plants, and I must say they do a wonderful job with recycling, and growing really nice looking plants. Follow them in da Gram - https://www.instagram.com/onceagainhawaii/?hl=en"
"Visited this little nursery a while back plant-shopping in Waimanalo. If you are a plant lover, you need to make a stop here! I actually drove right by this nursery but the sign beckoned me to turn around as I was in need of a passion fruit plant. I recently learned some species of passion fruit need two plants to make any kind of fruit. I was wondering why my large passion fruit vine loaded with flowers had no fruit! Well if I had known that, I would have purchased two plants a year ago!The drive on the rocky dirt road felt like an adventure! I was hoping no other cars were coming my way because I'd probably have to reverse to a clearing if that was the case, but there were no other people. I was the only one there that day and it was like driving onto a little magical oasis of plants and pets. I was greeted by a really cute rooster that looked like it was wearing a vest. Too bad I didn't get a picture of him. He was cute. I loved watching him walk up and down the driveway. He didn't strut like a regular rooster, he kind of teetered on either leg, like a penguin. The owner of the nursery, Lena, came out to greet me with her pretty smile and hospitality. There were all kinds of citrus trees, plain and fancy. She had gorgeous hibiscus for sale too! As for the passion fruit, she only had one plant that was pretty small, but she just gave it to me after she told me it was a bit too small to sell. That was super nice of her! I purchased a red habanero pepper from Lena as I'm a lover of hot stuff. Aside from lovingly tending to her many fruit trees, plants, flowers and shrubs, she also tends to one of her many rescue pets, from dogs to cats to roosters, so drive super slowly if you come to visit. I believe her days of operation were Thurs - Sun, but I am not sure if I remembered correctly as it's been a while since I visited. Call ahead. Bring cash. Close your doors, trunks and roll up your windows so the cat doesn't hitch a ride with you (he jumped into my trunk). Don't forget the bug spray for the mosquitos....and drive slowly!"
"Beautiful supplies and customer service!!!! Got amazing plants for our home. So grateful the customer service here is top notch and accommodating to your needs"
"H&R Nurseries, located on a back road in Wainmanalo, specializes in unique hybrids - not clones or the mass produced orchids that you find at your super market from Thailand or Taiwan. This is their niche which has allowed them to successfully survive against foreign, lower cost producers. Sadly, the nursery has condensed in size but is very organized and well kept. This makes it easier to control for pests and therefore agriculturally approved for shipping to the mainland or elsewhere.Harry and Roy have a variety of hybridized dendrobiums and cattleyas, thus if you're a connoisseur or just looking for that unique plant, this is your place. The two are so knowledgeable and are well known in the Orchid forums. Excellent speakers who always have a good story....check them out!"
"Shopping in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii...Thanks to Donna O.'s tip, I learned that Mari's Gardens expanded to a THIRD location on the Windward side of the island! (They took over the former Ko'olau Farmers site, next to Wendy's.)Mari's Gardens started in Mililani. It may seem far for most folks, but that property is gigantic! They're famous for the Instagram-worthy Maneki Neko (good luck cat). The second location is a cozy spot in Honolulu - the parking is challenging for me, but it probably is no problem for the people who live in condominiums nearby. This third store is wonderful! There are treasures both inside and outside! Inside, the displays of orchids and anthuriums are stunning! There are freshly cut flowers for customers to make their own floral arrangements and many pots to make creations on the spot. If you need a snack, local vendors are supported (Ubae cookies, taro chips, bags of poi, Huff 'n Puff snacks, NOMS candy, Mango granola, dressings, eggs, fresh produce, etc.).Outside, the variety of plants was amazing! Besides succulents, colorful flowering plants, herbs, etc., there were larger planters, cinders, potting soil, top soil, and fertilizer!I actually ran out of fertilizer yesterday. On the first day of each month, I feed my plants so that I can provide flowers for floral arrangements at our church. Mom does the arranging. I just clean up and prep. Haha!Staff were very friendly and helpful. As I was debating on which fertilizer to purchase, I was assisted without my asking! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I can't wait to use the fertilizer next month and see the results!I'll be back!"
"Happen to park on the 2nd floor during a weekend visit to Pearlridge, as we were going down the escalator,( see photo taken of Happy Koi Nursery) the other half covered my eyes so I could avoid checking out Happy koi Nursery. hehe. I am a PlantAholic, I have a huge love for plants, no matter how many I have. I loved browsing at all the plants and nice arrangements that Happy Koi Nursery has. I remember seeing the their plants before at the Blaisdell and years ago at Pearlridge. Thought it was a pop up but the owner that helped me mentioned this is her regular spot. Good to know for when I need more stuff again. I didn't buy much plant this visit, I am obsessed with Hoya plants, If I spot any Id buy them in an instant. During this visit I needed soil for my Hoya which I got a special blend of soil ( $3. for a huge container) fertilizer for my Desert Rose Plants, which owner recommends the one she has ( $3. for a small container) cute decoration for my bonsai plant ($4.) and 2 small plants @$3. each for mini anthurium and cute Jade tree. I needed to fill my tiny pots which fit perfectly. I fed my desert rose when I got home. All the items purchased was much needed. The prices are reasonable too. Credit cards are accepted but I believe there is a fee, I could have saved .75 cents if I paid cash, hehe. I need to accumulate those airline miles. Next time you're at Pearlridge check out Happy Koi Plants, I sure was happy, got my plant therapy in! Plants makes people Happy!!"
"Gardening in Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawaii...My parents have green thumbs... it helps when you live in lush Nu'uanu Valley! My siblings and I always had plants around us and learned basic techniques from our parents. My mom has prized hanging heliconia plants and torch gingers. When they're not blooming, she complains, but doesn't water the plants extra nor give them fertilizer. I'm the kind of person who will do something to make her happy. After several suggestions to mom about fertilizer, I went to Ko'olau Farmers on Beretania Street and got a bag of fertilizer. This store has been around for a very long time. It's a locally owned name with another location in Kaneohe!I read the labels and asked the cashier if the one I selected would be good for heliconias... He said that this mix will force the plant to bloom. It won't necessarily get greener.Perfect!I can't wait to see the results!"
"Late post...2-3 weeks ago Upon arrival, we were greeted by a nice person (sorry I forgot her name) she was really nice. I went there for pink tuberose (pink) and they had lots! There was a few with flower buds on them and most did not have. I did get the two that had and a couple of the ones that didn't. At present time, this is what I discovered tonight (too excited to wait until there's sun to take this pic)..... I wish the world can smell this!"
"Plants in the city ...I knew that I would like this shop because I have been to the original location in Mililani - thanks to a Yelp Hawaii Elite Event. We had a fun virtual event where we assembled some cute succulents into a terrarium-like arrangement... Acceptable for gift giving! Mari's Urban Garden is more convenient for residents who live in Honolulu. A possible concern would be the parking in Kaka'ako. I solved that problem by visiting on a Sunday when metered street parking is free! I scored a space right in front of the shop!My mom tagged along. She was equally impressed with the pleasant decor, attractive displays, wide selection of plants (zz plants, lucky bamboo, anthurium, violets, etc.), and friendly service. We both oohed and ahhed over whimsical accessories like angel ornaments, candles in local juice cans, and colorful planters. When you go, make sure you get a selfie on the wicker throne - it located under the live plant portrait... And pick up a gift or two for Mother's Day, Administrative Professionals' Day, house warming, birthday, and more!"
"the Nii nursery is my favorite of all, they have a great selection and are always ready to help and give advice on plant care, like their neib "charles nii" the Nii nursery has more "hawaiian" stuff, usually have over several hundred types of hibiscus, many hybrid that only they have and if you go early in the morning they cut the flowers and show them at the entrance. They also have concrete items for sale. conveniently located in upper hawaii kai. not uncommon to see wild piggies go running by up here."
"Mahalo Susan and the Alluvion Ohana for designing the precious funeral wreath for our dear friend. Everyone loved the flowers and it was such a beautiful custom engraved banner. It was an easy process to order by phone and schedule delivery. This was truly a focal point during the Celebration of Life. Thank you again for helping us to decorate in loving memory."

Any succulent lovers in Oahu must come visit Once Again! All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating and you will definitely get a more personalized and intimate experience versus going to a chain like Home Depot. Let me start by saying that although they are usually open on Fridays and Saturdays (based on Yelp) we gave them a call since we were nearby at another nursery who told us about this place. They happened to be on site doing some work so they told us to come on over. How awesome! As soon as we walked through the entrance, we were greeted by Genevieve who let us sanitize our hands and gave my friend and I a shallow box to carry all of the succulents we wanted to buy. She gave us a quick tour of the price breakdown and the different types of succulents that were separated by numbered tables. Towards the front of the shop they have a lot of arrangements in very cute and unique containers. Some of them had crystals and fairy accessories! They answered all of my questions about taking care of succulents and showed me exactly what they use in their mixture soil. We learned that pre-covid, they used to hold workshops on the weekends but had to put it on hold due to the current situation. I can't wait for them to resume those classes but in the meantime, I will be back to add on to my succulent collection! #supportlocal

Wonderful hibiscus and other plants to choose from. Friendly farmer, dog and cat. Great prices, and lots of info on how to care for your plants. I bought a hibiscus that turns from yellow to vermillion and is gigantic. For $15. It's easy to find and had a steady stream of visitors but we were masks even if we were outdoors. There's a book with.pictures of the flowers in bloom to help you choose. I bought one to see if it would survive me, and after the first flower bloomed I had a few leaves yellow and drop but now it has a half dozen buds so waiting eagerly to see them bloom. I kept it in the pot till I decide where it will do best. I would recommend here for buying plants for your own garden.

The Orchid industry in Hawaii has been hit hard by globalization. Taiwan can offer orchids pennies to the dollar. There have been a few law suits against the US Dept of Agriculture by the local Orchid Industry, but they were all lost. H & R Nurseries is a nursery that doesn't quite have to worry about this all too much as their clientele is not your typical buying-generic-orchids-for-a-pretty-centerpiece customer; they specialize hybrids and species rather than Orchid clones. Nationwide and in Japan, they've really garnered collectors of rare Orchids.3 times a year, they dramatically mix up their inventory list- which is quite productive considering that most nurseries will update their inventory once every 5 years if you're lucky (Orchids take about 3 years to go from seed to sellable plant). The species they specialize most in is Cattleya family, particularly Cattleya Amethystoglossa. Their Amethystoglossa's are notorious for gathering many AOS (American Orchid Society) awards. Their hybrids are also of high quality, most of which also win awards.I recommend going onto flickr.com and doing a search for "H&R orchids"Their prices for species are a little steep, but that's just the price you have to pay if you want one-of-a-kind rather than generic.Random pet peeve about a lot of orchid nurseries, many of them are unorganized and unlabeled. H&R is so amazingly organized, they have seperate sections for Hybrids, Species, and Clones. Every one of their plant are tagged. And the sections are arranged in alphabetical order. For a true orchid lover, this is without a doubt the best place on the island to acquire orchids.

I love how Mari's Gardens expanded their horizon...Oh congratulations on how her garden has grown from Mililani to Kailua, and though it's just a fraction of the size in comparison the love of everything plant related along with its humor is all there. You know you're there with the familiar "Mari's Gardens" sign right on the building as I overheard some thinking it's a cafe with two tables positioned right outside is taken back as soon as you enter seeing the various cool plant accessories weather you're building a terrarium or your own oasis the staff here are so happy to answer any of your questions.Out back there are plants, plants and more plants and what I love about here over the other locations is they have a huge varieties of herbs. Everything from Basil to Spearmint most in mini starter pots that already are thriving in the open blazing Kailua sun you know it will thrive at home with love.Parking will be the biggest challenge so plan your visit there are only a few stalls and the dead end parking makes it impossible if it's full. I've asked if they do repotting like Mari's Urban Garden do and said in the future they're planning to do so which makes gift giving a breeze from this garden of Mari's.Thank you!

Lovely and peaceful. I was shocked to find this little oasis at Pearl Ridge mall. We parked upstairs by Macy's. As you take the escalator down you'll see the little gem on your right. We got in depth information on how to care for the plants we purchased. The pots are hand made and very creative. We were also able to pick up succulent potting soil and fertilizer. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is free. They take cash or card.

Koolau Farmers is a locally owned nursery and garden supply. I came because my daughter has tasked me with rejuvenating her herb garden. Koolau carries a wide variety of plants, gardening tools, fertilizers and even fresh local produce. The assortment of tropical plants is amazing. I was tempted by the vast array of succulents. I found the herbs I was looking for and the plants looked very healthy. I also picked up a bunch of apple bananas that were beautiful. Prices are reasonable and the staff is aloha friendly. They have a private parking lot so it is easy to carry the plants to the car. I'll be back after I get this herb garden in shape.

"My wife was looking for Ti Leaf plants. She started looking at City Mill, Home Depot and even Waimanalo; but I told her we live in Hi Kai and there are nursery's located in Hi Kai. I called a few nursery's in Hi Kai; but either no answer or busy tones. I went down the list and got Tropical Tree Nursery, Isaac answered and said they have Ti Leaf plants. We went down and was impressed with their nursery. The concrete pathways made it easier to view the abundance of plants. Isaac was very helpful and allowed us to walk around and browse. I recommend Tropical Tree Nursery, beats paying those prices at City Mill or Home Depot. Mahalo!"

"If you LOVE hibiscus, you must check out Jill's hibiscus selections online, call her, then go pick up your babies. Normally her nursery is open but due to the coronavirus pandemic, she has her nursery closed to the public but you can still buy her exotic and amazing hibiscus.I've been bit by the hibiscus bug and pretty badly I must admit. I went from one plant (from Lowe's) to over 20, with collections from Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot, Logee's Greenhouse (online), Hidden Valley Hibiscus (online), Happy Plants Nursery in Waimanalo and Jill's amazing hibiscus!!!Why do I love hibiscus so much? It's true that the flowers only last a day or two (or three, depending on plant variety) but one of the main reasons I have hearts in my eyes is due to the fact that you can hybridize your very own hibiscus, and call it whatever you want (within reason). You can cross pollinate different flowers, say a red one and a blue one, and come up with something purple or blue with red borders, or a deep red one, or a purple one with red borders! It's like painting with nature, you just have to have patience (and a few plants).Once you have your own hybrid, you can register it at International Hibiscus Society but it's not that easy, of course. True hybridizers try to create something better or equal to the original parents; such as color, disease resistance, vigor, upright vs bushy, etc. It takes years to create something totally worthwhile. Me, I'm shallow and just in it for the fun. I want to create a hibiscus that I can name after my parrot, or my favorite color or my cute neighbor's daughter; after all, I've seen some interesting hibiscus names like "pond scum", "dracula", "$e* on the beach", among others...If you look up Jill's hybrids, she's registered 93 distinct and unique hybrids that are all her own! Check out International Hibiscus Society and you can see everything she's created; to me that is total dedication! When you purchase something from someone who loves what they are doing, it really shows. When you buy your hibiscus from Jill, she lovingly grooms them and has all the leaves polished and ready to go! My plants are super healthy and thriving and totally loving all the attention I'm giving them."
"My green trash bin is always full so this spot is my go to after Christmas when I want to dump my Christmas tree. It's free. Once you enter, there would be a pile of trees on the left. Do not drive past their office. There is a scale in front of the office if you ever need to dump biodegradable stuff for a price. However topsoil/dirt was not allowed. There is a sign that lists items not allowed. I was a little bummed about that since we demolished and renovated my yard."
"Plant Hawaiii was our florist vendor for our wedding ceremony. Scot and his team were amazing! Everything came out better than I could have ever imagined. I was a very indecisive bride and had no idea what I wanted to do for flora's. Scot was fantastic in helping me figure out what would look great for my special day. If you are looking for beautiful arches and flower arrangements, then definitely check out Plant Hawaii."
"I never went to a plant nursery and this day I went to one, that In a beautiful way, had a secret garden affect to it... a somewhat gem of sorts. And never ever having been to the other side of the island for really much... I heard about this place from a friend of mines. And he needed to purchase some beautiful greenery for a side wall. AJ Bonner is the owner of Super Value Nurseries. And much of his planets are in the young range. It might be necessary to cultivate into the ground for preparation of needed growth. You won't find many fruit plants or any at all (perhaps that might change) but make sure to ask AJ and he will tell you who might have certain planets at other nurseries in Waimanalo. I was wondering about lemon trees, but he explained he doesn't have any fruit and entailed of nurseries that are nearby Waimanalo and that's helpful.I love this Nursery because while we spoke to AJ he had wildlife that he attracted. The fascination was that there was a Shama bird little purple black sheen with a tan orange belly that fluttered to him cause it knew he would have food. And AJ simply opened a container that was in his pocket and dumped out a few little worm grubs. It was fascinating... And I got to see a Native Bird land near where I was standing... a "Puuwilo" from the Elepio bird family... they would be in an area, an isolated from crowds area. I would make another visit soon not just for AJ's expertises in the plants but at least the fascination of seeing a few birds flutter close by. It's a lovely part of Waimanalo. And visit with AJ to get him to share these fascinations in his awesome plant nursery."
"We've been wanting to get a lemon tree for the longest time. So today we decided to try to go down and get one. I'm not sure what my husband's plan was (I think he wanted to grow it from the seed). But I think that would've taken forever. When we first started dating, he got me a lemon tree from Home Depot, so maybe he wanted to go there. He just wanted to get one but didn't know where to go.I told him to look up some nurseries on Yelp and see if any are open. He was able to find one right down the street from our house. Nii Nursery is located in the back part of Hawaii Kai. They have a decent amount of parking and their lot is huge. You can see all kind of plants, fruiting trees, and other things. There were a lot of lemon and other fruit trees by the front entrance. They had many different types of oranges, tangerines, lemons, and kalamansi. We looked around and saw other plants but we were mostly interested in the lemon tree. I saw the worker and asked him how much the lemon tree was. He told me the price and then came down to help us. We're just learning about planting this tree so my husband asked him a lot of questions. He was such a nice guy and very knowledgeable. He has a good personality and made us laugh several times when he was explaining to us. He told my husband some great pointers of how to plant the lemon tree in the pot and how to care for it. We had a great experience there today. It was really a personalized learning experience. We will definitely come back if we want to get more plants."
"Such a huge fan of Plantoem! This is a plant shop, a cafe, and a community event center, all in one! While waiting for an appointment, I stopped by Plantoem to check them out and to kill some time - their cafe offers floral teas, coffee, and herbal drinks.I had a Spritzer, which was prepared with soda and your choice of lavender or lilikoi syrup - I opted for the latter, and this was expertly made! So bubbly and fizzy, and the right amount of lilikoi flavor! Very refreshing, and I loved how it was served in a glass with a glass straw! The staff here are super friendly and kind! There are also cozy seatings in their cafe.Be sure to check out their variety of plants; staff are readily available to assist!Note you have to go up the stairs to the upper part of a parking area, and the store/cafe is right there to your left.+great cafe+friendly service+all about that plant life"
"Love Frankie's Fruit Farm..! Many years ago when planting our yard we were told Frankie's was the place to go for the best fruit trees. They did not disappoint! Ended up getting a white pirie mango tree, kaimana lychee, and the most abundantly fruiting kumquat tree ( perfect accent for outside the front entrance!). We had the trees delivered.Fast forward many years and many fruit crops later, with a visit to the farm with friends, was blown away by the exotic fruit which was available for purchase ALONG with the fruit trees!Time permitting as well as interest level of carmates, I try to stop by the farm whenever driving around for sightseeing. And yes, today I brought home a mixed bowl of exotic fruit ($10 a container). :-)Frankie's is set back in the back of Waimanalo. The yelp map will help you find the farm easily!"
"Indecisive yup that's me in a nutshell, buuut when I see something I like I know it in a heartbeat and/or figure out how I'm going to have to make it work.I've been trying to slowly learning build my air plant society and figure out how it could work with my lifestyle, places like Paiko is so helpful with both tools and knowledge it's comforting to visit and get inspired.Today from the "Do it yourself" bar I picked up these beautiful green quartz-like rocks that I had to have and can't wait to figure out how to arrange it. They do have two bag sizes small is $7 and large is $14.Beautifully arranged or to get inspired they have so much for you to choose and decide it's so much fun, thank you!!"
"We finally got a real tree this Christmas - a seven-foot Douglas Fir - for only $8. A guy in the parking lot saw us jamming it into our car and asked us where we lived, that he might help drive it for us in his truck. Tis the season! (It's good to be home...)"
"We were actually going to another nursery and we saw the sign for Sharon's Plants and decided to take a chance and stop by and we are so glad we did. We were a little confused on where to park as we saw some vehicles parked outside but there was a dirt road leading in and didn't know if there was another parking lot inside. We called to ask them and they said to park outside which we did. The walk is short and we were greeted with smiles and asked what we were looking for. We asked about some items and was pointed to the different directions where we could find what we were looking for. They have fruit trees which was one of the things we were looking for. The prices is better than getting them at the big retailers for sure. We got a couple of grafted lemon and lime trees and they had both, ones with thorns and without. We got the ones with as they will serve as a protection against anyone trying to climb our wall and give us some nice fruits. We also got some other plants that the better half wanted for her garden. Overall, they are knowledgeable, friendly, nice selection of plants, and the price is pretty fair."
"Shopping for Mother's Day...What do you give to the woman who carried you for nine months in her own body and brought you into this world?I don't know about you, but I am forever in debt to my mom. I just want her to be happy... and her garden is her Happy Place! My plan was to take her to this nursery in Kaneohe which specializes in Native Hawaiian plants. However, it wasn't open on Sunday and she felt tired on Monday, so, I had to select Ohia Lehua plants for her.I read reviews about Hui Ku Maoli Ola Native Hawaiian Plant Specialists and called first to make sure that they had Ohia Lehua plants. Yes!I drove along Haiku Road, past Haleiwa Joe's, towards the elementary school and the Ko'olau Mountain Range. It's a scenic drive - even when it's overcast and drizzling. Those ominous gray clouds were not going to stop me from achieving my goal! When I arrived, I parked where I wasn't blocking anyone. I had read that the paths might be muddy, but I'm okay with that.Rueben was a big help to me. After I found the Ohia Lehua, he identified the orange and red varieties. He pointed out that some plants were mislabeled and asked which area will the plants grow? I answered: Nu'uanu. He said that they should have no problem there. I looked for the plants with the largest stems and most branches! Haha!Payment by credit card was efficient and thorough. Rueben entered my name and phone number into their system for future reference. I told him that I will probably be back next month and bring mom for her birthday! When I took the plants to mom's house, the look on her face was priceless! I showed her that the taller plant will have red flowers and the wider plant is the rarer orange flowering plant. She was beaming and speechless!#missionaccomplishedThanks to Rueben and the staff of Hui La Maoli Ola Native Hawaiian Plant Specialists for making my mom's wishes come true!"
"Visited this place a while back after going to Happy Plants Nursery. The owner of Happy Plants had some amazing hibiscus that were her personal plants and told me she got them from this nursery. The nursery had a few hibiscus plants, but not the one I saw at Happy Plants, which was a large flowered purple and pink beauty. I did end up purchasing a nice yellow one with dark center, and it was $20. I was told at the time that there would be no more re-stocking of plants as the owner was planning to sell the nursery due to loss of land lease to the state, what a shame. If you want to get your hibiscus fix on, visit Ladybug Plants before they cease operations!"
"What an amazing Nursery ! This place has fields of amazing bromeliads and exotic tropicals. They are a wholesale nursery, so you will either need to buy in bulk (couple hundred dollar minimum) or be a local landscaper/reseller.They take a lot of pride in how they grow their plants.. they come "full" instead of "lanky"Ive had nothing but good experiences with this HSN...check them out!"
"I cannot recommend Koba's Nursery enough friendly, and affordable, what's not to love? First off, the trek here is beautiful. I love any reason to make a drive out to the Windward side and the drive to Koba's is always worth it. Second, the property in itself is incredible. It's organic beauty and majesty of the Ko'olau mountains is unmatched. The property is huge... I mean, big enough that you need a golf cart to get around. How cool is that? My girlfriend and I decided to adventure out of our usual Kaneohe-Kailua routine to do some plant shopping. We were able to find a diverse mix of tropical and exotic plants--even some plants I swear I've never seen before. It was nice to just roam the property and kind of get lost in all of the greenery. If you're looking for a new houseplant or looking to just get outside--I can't recommend this place enough!"
"Buying a plant for my mom for Mother's Day is like when a guy is buying jewelry for a gal.We don't know what the recipient has already and we don't know what the recipient wants. It's best to just bring the recipient to the store and let them select their own gift, right? It's better than giving them a gift card!Well... I know my mom. She's really picky about her plants. She has a purpose for each plant that she owns - the flowers will be arranged into a bouquet - or - the flowers will be made into a haku lei I've listened to her over the years and I know that she's missing certain colors of liko lehua. I couldn't remember exactly which colors she wanted, so, I asked her if she wanted to go to a Waimanalo nursery on Sunday or Monday. She chose Sunday... After church. Okay!I did a search on Yelp and many nurseries are closed on Sundays except for Glenn's Flowers and Plants. We drove over the Pali easily - no traffic! There were several areas to park. Yay!...and it wasn't crowded!Mom wandered around the plants in direct sunlight and the plants in indirect sunlight - this place is very organized and tidy! She almost got a yellow bougainvillea, but decided against it because she has a yellow Cup and Saucer plant. Ha! She asked if they had puakenikeni or liko lehua... None. Aww ...Oh, well... We had a nice time together. I enjoyed looking at the various plants and yard decorations. I know now where to go if I need healthy plants!"
"On our last nursery stop of the day, this one was the winner overall and by winner, I mean the only one we purchased from. We parked at the top on the gravel upon entering and made our way down to view the many flowers they had to offer. I bought 3 different colored hibiscus. They take card and cash. If I can recall, the sign by the checkout said cash only but I was asked if I'd like to pay by cash or card.. Anywhos, the lady on the golf cart offered some space for us to put our plants on for now while we explored. Once I paid her, she brought our plants up to my vehicle. Super nice! What makes Plant Place stand out even more is that she gave me a Happy Mother's Day succulent! Mind you, I believe I went towards the ending of April. Garsh, ya'll totally got me, a new loyal customer. I appreciate it!"
