Andy L. "This was unexpected but stopping here for lunch on a weekday is a great idea. The food is pretty darn good - I would say better than several hotel Restaraunts, who charge you more for less quality in food. I've yet to find a brewery with food that isn't really tasty and Maui Brewing Co. didn't disappoint at all. Our pizza was delicious and the beer flight was also really good. The highlight was of course the beer. A nice surprise was the mai tai! - who knew Maui Brewing Co knew how to make a nice cocktail. But yes - lunch is a good time to come here as it will be very busy during happy hour and dinner. I'm a bit over the loud party scene anyway but I'm still into drinking nice beer - so if you're on the same wave length of having a chill beer on your vacation with good food - check this place out!"

Lori L. "I have a sweet tooth, so I have always loved the M-side of MW. Artizen cookie bar? Already added to the calendar. All you can eat MW candy bars at Food & Wine? How many times is too many times to get in line? Asking for a friend.I don't always think of the W-side of MW, but I should. We recently went back for dinner with friends and here are the notes. Do try the arancini. Light, crispy, with the scent of truffles. This is a nice appetizer. The corn chowder was less exciting and served just barely warm. The entrees are classic bistro favorites, the King Salmon had a soft, melt in your mouth texture and was served with a generous amount of beurre blanc. The braised short ribs are fork tender with a rich truffle sauce and foie gras. And the Steak Au Poivre was better than some steakhouses. The steak had a deep beef flavor, had a nice sear, and the sauce was heavily seasoned--I would suggest getting the sauce on the side.We finally made it to dessert and coffee--French press of course--and why stop at just one? Michelle's signature dessert, the brûlée is a fun mix of textures, the crispy burnt sugar balancing out the tangy lilikoi. The tiramisu is the coffee version of the brûlée with the same brûléed top and the same textures of pearls, cream, and jellies. The MW candy bar is perfect if you like chocolate and peanut butter. Lightly crisp and so indulgent. Strawberry Napoleon is puff pastry, strawberries, ume and shiso sorbet, it's crunchy and refreshing. We enjoyed ourselves and it reminded me MW is still a lovely way to wile away an evening."

As veggies, it's tough to find upscale dining options in Hawai'i and we had heard great things, so off we went. We were doing a staycation at the Prince, so we took a rideshare. For those concerned with parking, could easily park at the International Marketplace. There's street parking too if you can find a stall. Upon arriving, we were immediately welcomed. The gentleman at the door was really great. He showed us to our seat at the chef's counter and the evening began. We decided to do the 'āina tasting menu. We enjoyed the majority of the six dishes with the exception of the beet poke. There was something about the consistency that did not work well for us, but everything else was well composed and well presented. I loved the story behind each dish and the commitment to place and sustainability. At $100 a person, we felt the price was reasonable.Bonus: it was my birthday, so we got a nice raspberry sorbet dessert. Normally, I'm not one for sorbet, but it was fantastic."

Julie B. "How does a restaurant run out of pasta?? This tells me that the tagliatelle is not made in-house, fair enough. But again, HOW does a restaurant run out of PASTA?? At the start of dinner service at 6:00 pm, no less! Especially when it is the one and only pasta dish on their menu of all (9) entrees total??Our party of 7 were staying at Turtle Bay Resort and this was where we planned (a birthday) dinner on our last night. While the ambiance and company were great, the food left SO MUCH to be desired. As mentioned above, at least 2-3 adults and 1 child in our group were set on ordering the tagliatelle so when our server informed us they were out, it was very disappointing. So as far as vegetarian options, it would've just left the cauliflower entree, which wasn't a desirable option for anyone in our party. My entree was the catch of the day special (mahi mahi) and this was... bland and mediocre. At $55, I expected more. The keiki menu only had the tagliatelle as a pasta option and AGAIN, when we were informed that they were out, there were no other non-meat options for children. The kid's steak frites was something you'd give your dog under the table - a few slices of (gristly) steak w/ a handful of fries - but with a $34 price tag.Additionally, the kids' meals were supposed to come with a starter of crudités and a scoop of ice cream for dessert - both which our two kids did not receive and we didn't realize it until after the meal ended. We pre-arranged for a birthday cake to come out at the end of the meal so it was nice that that that was executed just fine. Candles wouldn't stay lit due to the lovely North Shore winds, just an FYI.Two stars for our friendly server (even though he did forget the kids' stuff) and nice setting. I would NEVER come back here for the food. Even the focaccia bread served at the start was forgetful. The two restaurants at Turtle Bay Resort that I've dined at (other one being The Beach House) have been awful, I'm sorry to say. I'd suggest to resort guests that driving 20 minutes down Kamehameha Hwy to Foodland and hitting up their ready made foods or any of the local food trucks off the hwy are much better alternatives instead."

Our server was very kind (a young woman who said she is from Kailua). She noticed us struggling with some flies since we were seated outside and brought a little device to help keep the flies off our food which was very kind. I definitely think more restaurants with outdoor seating should have those on every table! I really liked everything I ate which was the brisket and kalua pork with tater tots, Brussels sprouts, and cornbread. The pickles are flavored with mustard which was surprisingly good. I would say my favorite was probably the Brussels sprouts though. Either way, a great spot for bbq if you're on the east side!"

Gabrielle C. "This location is at Pearl City Gateway Mall INSIDE Foodland farms! Same shopping Center with Longs, Tj Maxx, and Dunkin donuts. Across the street from Pearl City Walmart. Because this is inside foodland farms and you know the area, parking is always tight and busy. BUT since this is located within the shoping center, just don't mind the walk! I've came here multiple times for take out. Whether we're stopping here tentionally for lunch/dinner OR after some grocery shopping grabbing some plates on our way out. Food choices are bomb. Including with scoop rice and a choice of salad (toss, potato, etc). For main dishes they have steak, garlic shrimp, garlic chicken, loco moco, shoyu chicken, burgers, and more! My go to is always steak with toss salad and possibly a plus one. They offer 2 choice or 3 choice combos! With your steak they offer side of sauces: Teriyaki | Garlic Butter | Horseradish | Kim Chee | Lilikoi BBQ | Chimichurri.... my go to is the garlic butter. I love to just smear it onto the steak at home so it adds flavor to every bite. Their plate range from about $12-$15. Food wait time is typically fast. I've ordered 1-6 plates at one time and waited no longer than 10-15 min. Reason for the 4 star rating is their customer service. My experience there always changes. From whoever is taking my order sometimes their not always consistent or sometimes our order is wrong. Even if its a missing drink, its still a missing item. Before the pandemic they did have counter spaces with few chairs or an open eating area to the side of the cash registers to have your lunch/din-house! house! But of course it is take out only (which is what I've always done). Will always come back for when I want a fast plate of steak and some every once in a while."

We called and let the host know we may be a few minutes late to look for parking and she gave us some tips. We found street parking a block over with no problem. Our server Christi was amazing. She was attentive and friendly. She was knowledgeable of the menu and specials, and we felt taken care of the whole night. One thing too, we wanted to try both the fries and crispy potatoes, but Christi had warned us that the sides are full portions. It's nice to see a restaurant not try and upsell you things. Thank you Christi! Stephanie took over towards the end of the night and wrapped up our service nicely.2 cons I would note is the volume inside the restaurant and space between the table. It was loud in there until the last 30 minutes of our meal (last 30 minutes before closing). Tables are pretty close together as well. We could hear the conversations of the tables next to usWe got the spicy kitty, steak tartare, korean bavette, chez burger, and crispy potatoes. Spicy kitty was ... spicy. All the foods tastes great! Well-seasoned and nothing was too salty or missing in flavor. My steak was cooked perfectly medium rate. It's not melt in your mouth but cooked well enough that the chew isn't too much. First I was expecting a dressing for the slaw, but the kochujang sauce ended up being the dressing for the slaw. Rice could be improved on, I wasn't really tasting ginger-scallion and there were clumps of rice. 5 stars for service4.7 stars for food4 stars for ambienceOverall, a great anniversary dinner!"

They are like a popular chain restaurant in California called California Fish Grill, which offers fresh sea food with some sides at a reasonable price in a casual environment. Plates at dinner consist of 8 oz. of fish protein while lunch time comes with 6 oz. When I visited on a weekday evening there was a 20 minute line to get in, followed by a 15 minute line inside. Fortunately after I ordered the food was ready in about 5 minutes.Ono ($26) - The plate options here consisted of ono, snapper, mahi mahi, tuna or salmon. One then chooses how they want the fish prepared, and each plate contains slaw, and a side. I got this prepared cajun style and substituted my side with additional slaw. The fish was slightly sweet and firm in texture and had wonderful Cajun seasoning.Overall, this is a healthy option to try some great tasting fish. You can't really go wrong here if you need some munchies because your drunk. The Country Bar. I love this bar. I think the reason I love this bar is the staff. The dj who usually works is awesome. But so is the back up dj. If you want a song they will find it for you. They will also do a shout out for you if you request it. They will even arrange for special moments. (My fiancee worked out my proposal there and the whole bar helped him out.) The bartenders are very nice. The drinks are cheap and strong (even though they are simple). And the bouncers are nice and will only kick you out if your completely plastered or getting in fights at the bar. There aren't many fights at the bar but when they do happen they are dealt with immediately and nobody ever gets hurt there. Another plus to the place is the dance floor. There are many dance clubs in Hawaii but none have a dance floor this large. The dancers aren't really that great but nobody is trying to win a contest there. They are there to have a good time. If your new to the bar scene come here because you'll meet lots of friends who become like family and everyone watches out for each other.Aside from this there are many events held at this center. The last thing that was held there was the Blowing off smoke. It was a cigar and drink event. 20 bucks for 2 cigars, four drinks and give-aways. Such precision! The refreshing flavors and artful presentation, wow! It's more than a shaken cocktail. As if I wasn't already WOWed, the Omakase snack set was presented with the paired beverage. Petite morsels that were so tasty, you just knew the rest of the courses would be equally delicious. Of the three snacks, my favorite was the crisped nori wrapped around a flavorful treasure :)For the 1st course, the slices of yellowtail were delightfully served over shredded fennel and dressed with a local tomato vinaigrette. This paired well with their cinnamon and pomegranate vodka, spritzed with bergamot. For the 2nd course, don't you dare call it jook LOL this tsuyahime rice soup, topped with Dungeness crab, was delicately seasoned with ramps, a flowering perennial with hints of onion and garlic. The paired beverage had yuzu, aloe, gin, and absinthe. Before bringing the 3rd course, we were presented with Hokkaido milk bread and a yummy butter sauce that had nice sized lump crab meat. What's not to like about that winning combination? While others opted for wagyu, we picked the rack of lamb for Course 3. Cooked perfectly, it was so tender and served up with a variety of local Banchan. The restaurant offers a handful of options from drinks, appetizers, entrées, and desserts. There's also a bar inside as well. For dinner, I opted for the Spinach Salad with no feta cheese. I expected a small salad but the portion for it was massive! It was topped with plenty of sliced almonds and golden raisins and the hard-boiled egg was a nice add-on. The only thing I would've changed is to have had the dressing on the side since my salad was drenched in it. The salad also came with three slices of cheesy bread--some pieces soggy while others were crispy. After mixing everything together it was pretty good!Vaccinations cards are required to dine in. The restaurant is quiet, clean, and there's ample seating. We were one of the only groups dining in but service was slow--a little over 30 minutes for us to get our food. This is probably due to the restaurant being understaffed as well as busy with room service and takeout orders. Despite all of this, our server was extremely kind and accommodating!Make sure to check in on Yelp to receive one free appetizer of the chef's choice! Tonight it was Mozzarella Sticks--which my friends liked but I didn't try any. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed our meals but agreed that nothing stood out. Jennylou M. "Wow Wow Wow! The food, the service and the ambiance deserves more than five stars. We had dinner with fam from other state which made it more special. They all enjoyed the food. The flavor of each dish was amazing! We watched the sunset and the weather was nice. Y'all have to try the shrimp toast."

Jamal C. "We had a great event here at the Sunset Lanai this past weekend. The space was perfect for 100 plus attendees. The breakfast served on the 1st day was good. The grits had some opportunities. They also served fresh fruit, hash brown potatoes, sausage links, bacon, scrambled eggs, & small pastries. The pupu's prepared on day 2 consisted of Several meat choices, egg rolls, small pastries and cake. Assorted juices as well. Edna is the Manager. She did an excellent job hosting the event. Edna was there early and stayed late to ensure everything was perfect. If you're looking for a spot to host your next event with amazing views of Hawaii...Sunset Lanai is the place."
