"Do not proCraftinate and head to The Bead Gallery!!I just couldn't believe I never left a review for the place that have been my lifeline though my projects and necessities all things for beads and beyond! Almost a lifey I've been though their journey of various locations and this location almost brings them back to where I first met Jamie and Jason.Located on Queen Street right beside Hamada General Store there a single door with a ring of a doorbell will take you to a place like no other ahhh it's been way too long as it's been appointment only during the pandemic understandably now with in-store shopping hours from 3pm-6pm Thursdays to Sundays making it nice to impulsively get my much need supplies.Always so knowledgeable and helpful I find myself coming here to get inspired as it's filled with so much displayed items that gets me thinking of more projects with so much quality items to keep me going!Creativity is a beautiful thing that brings so much joy and happiness!!Thank you"
"Michi's Toy Box is a tiny toy store on Young Street. They specialize in model kits from Japan, lots of Gundam. They also have supplies and paints. There isn't much to browse. At the time I visited, there were two families inside talking story with the owner, it seemed like a happy place.Parking is free in the shopping center."
"Never thought I'd be reviewing a Flag shop, but the Customer Service was so good! I was THAT person who walked in literally 2 mins before the shop closed and needed a Hawaiian Flag lol. Extremely random I know. I was actually on the way to the Airport to catch a flight to Kona (Mauna Kea/TMT you know where this is going) and realized I had forgotten my flag at home. LOCATION: The very last row of shops closest to the water.. It's frustrating going in every cul-de-sac of shops trying to find the store bc there are literally hundreds of tiny stores up and downstairs. So drive all the way to the very end of the road and it's on the left. It's crammed wall to wall with every flag you could ever think of and there were also pins as well. No time for all the nonsense though. I walked in at 4:58pm and I'm sure the Owner wanted to tell me to come back tomorrow.. but she was so sweet. I just told her I needed a Hawaiian Flag and she asked the size and gave me the price. The price point was even great. I bought 2. Just very appreciative for them helping me so last minute. I must have been in and out in less than 5 mins no joke. I can't think of another Flag store on O'ahu but I would definitely recommend them over buying online."
"Buy local! My boy and I have gotten into baseball cards which is a reminder of my youth. We are now autograph card seekers in box packs hoping for that special signed Bellinger or Judge card. It's fun opening up packs together. The gentleman that owns and tends the store at night is the nicest. He's helped me relearn about the hobby itself, what drives the market, and how to protect the cards. I never feel like he's bothered by my slew of questions. Now onto pulling a gem."
"Love this lair!Dragon's Lair is a place I stumbled on an errand in Mililani after lunch at Rice Box Cafe which is just a couple doors away.Enter the Dragon's Lair and you're sure to be entertained by their inventory of not just comic books (which they really do have quite impressive collection) but all character things in many forms which many I'm clueless about though the staff there are amazing with any questions you many have or if you're looking for a particular item.I was particularly drawn to the mystery boxes of various characters like Tsum Tsum, One Piece, just to name a few though understandably the prices were quite expensive just the the need to know is the whole point of excitement. So much to see as I browsed each area was just a museum with the poster/art on the walls, books and even stickers...this cool lair is comical!Thank you!"
"First visit to TCR and it won't be my last! Corey and the guys from Arena Slab really made a female feel comfortable in a male dominated hobby. I walked in and already felt like I wanted to leave because I felt out of place but they all helped me feel at ease. They looked over my cards and helped me see the value with good comp percentages! Thanks TCR!"
"While at the beach, I lost my trusty knife. I am naked without a knife, and men carry knives. Found this little shop on Yelp and although mostly airsoft toy guns, they had a decent selection of Benchmade knives. Bought one so I can continue my day."
"Aikahi Aloha Coin is a gem right in the heart of the Hilton Hawaiian Village. You'll find a wide assortment of coins, stamps, jewelry, art, collectibles and collectible toys (like Star Wars and Marvel!), and the owner Paul and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their goods. My boyfriend loves this store and stops by every chance he gets to see what's new and chat. I enjoy combing through what this store has too, and I'm not even a collector! There is something for everyone here."
"Coming in just before noon Pro Bowl Sunday with a friend, I pondered about how long it's been since I've visited a store in this line. My friend knew what he sought while I browsed and reminisced as I saw different sports cards. The store layout is similar to stores in the Bay Area with various cards in glass cases and less valuable cards in bins organized by sport and age. I saw a cabinet on the right with some memorabilia from the Pro Bowl from years gone by ()https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=408&select=i24JOx064HzUlh0BmyKj-g. There were comic books and magazines towards the back of the store. I bought a card and my generous friend gifted me a card (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=264&select=YnBbD_lNxCidzMVHaEjaoQ). I am bit out of touch with card collecting as it's been several decades since I kept up. The market has changed where they are now a commodity. Those in-the-know will attest to that. Caught up with the momentum of history possibly being made the following week, I bought a Patrick Mahomes card. Thank you to Dave and Jeff who manned the store and answered questions as they came up. They told me that the owner, Calvin, has been in the business for quite a while and I might have likely shopped at his store in the '90's when the hobby was still of interest to me."
"This place has all the gadgets, strings, motor, controller, hobby items galore in a hidden residential area in Kaimuki. If you like drones, fishing, flying rockets, motor small boats, RC cars, making planes, and possibly making gundam, this place is a great place to buy parts to replace or repair your hobbies. They have so many selections depending on your interest. My friend convinced me to look at this place since he likes to fly drones, and planes and I was shocked that this place is near residents and has a wide array of selections to make your hobbies as well as have fun with your hobbies. Science teachers or coaches for robotics or battle bots, this place has multiple items you can teach to build or compete with Definitely will come back again for parts needed or thinking to build something"

I recently got back into model building, and found this place on a whim. Derron and Michi are both cheerful and helpful in my little search for a new kit to build. Derron is particularly knowledgeable about the origins of each Gundam (and I'm over here like duhrrrrr), and shared that he specializes in special orders. It's nice to have a shop in town that sells this stuff. I forgot how much I enjoyed it when I was a kid.

Stopped in to pick up some swivel fasteners for my flags. Haven't been able to make it in there since the pandemic. So haven't been flying our American flag and college flag.Great little shop with military, vet, senior discount. Great customer service! I brought my flag and pole in because I didn't know the size and she attached the new swivel fasteners for me and even wrapped up the flag in a plastic cover so it wouldn't unravel. Bless her heart! I even picked up some spares all for less than it would have cost me for one set of the swivels and shipping to HI!

Wow, a living sportscard shop!Pretty average collection. They need more graded items. I wanted a koufax rookie card but too bad owner wasn't there to negotiateSomewhat fair prices on card boxes. These shops are a dying breed. Nice to still see one breathing.

The owner is super cool and awesome. They have a variety of items between comics, stickers, games and what not. The prices are so reasonable and totally worth it. I've been bought Pokémon cards and comics from here many times and will continue coming here

They have a great selection of intermediate/advanced level guns for the hobbyist that is spending between $200 to $1,000 for their air soft gun. I love their line of KWA guns and purchased a G36C over a year ago and had no issues with my weapon. They have a 30 day warranty for unmodified guns. Keep it stock, use the recommended battery and don't abuse and your gun will last a long time. For those individuals that want change the barrel, modify your lipo battery, and hold the trigger for full auto during play. This is not the place for you. Consider purchasing on line, save money, and you should care about the warranty at this point. This location carries a large assortment of Black hawk accessories, which also cater to the intermediate/advanced player.

"Did you know that Moomins were created by Tove Jansson, who is a Swedish-speaking Finnish writer and illustrator? While my most favorite animal is the hippo, Moomins, the central characteries of these novels, short stories, picture books, and comics, are actually trolls! This Moomin Shop is located at the Ala Moana Center, and their store is filled with various collections, such as apparel, home and kitchen items, mugs, for the bath, bags, accessories, stationery, and even toys. The store itself is super cute and colorful, and everything is well-arranged and organized! The staff are friendly and very helpful, and this place is such a good stop to purchase gifts for others or for yourself!+cute selection of items+located at the Ala Moana Center+plenty of parking"
"My husband and I stumbled upon this super cool collector shop. They had so many collectibles! They have hot wheels, funko pops, Pokémon cards, pins, stickers, etc! The owners were super nice and down to earth! We loved their shop so much that we made a second visit before we left the island. Definitely check them out!!"
"#7 for 2020Jesse is a great guy talk to. Very knowledgable about the industry and related events. I've been to his original location in Kapolei many times. This was my 1st visit since moving to Aiea. I must say it was a very wise decision. The location will help the business to grow for sure. New comics coming in every week are properly displayed. Older issues are in boxes kept to the front. He carries many game products including Magic the Gathering which my family plays lots of. There are other board games too. It was slow this morning giving me time to talk about many subjects related to the industry. The growth and where the market was going, the basic business model changing and the good old days before comics came to be a main stream pop culture merchandise driving force. Well, if you're looking for something good to read, talk to Jesse he'll give you a heads up on the latest comic book trends."
"Came in looking for a gift...I am clueless but was looking regardless finding this place I'm so thankful as it's located on Ward in one of the older buildings with Supercuts on the ground floor and with a few free parking stalls finding them on the second floor it's super easy and convenient to find.I'm sure they immediately notice I'm one of those that are lost lol but nevertheless was there if I had any questions but didn't bother or hover which I did appreciate as I lurked and searched for the items that I'm not sure what to get at all.Decided to get some accessories like sleeves and other items along with a few Pokemon cards just something simple to add to my gift set, they do have an incredible selection of card and more this is a great shop as they were just nice and friendly when I was ready got me checked out and on my way.Thank you!"
"Shopping at Pearlridge Center in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawaii...I was strolling around the middle level of Downtown Pearlridge where Dunkin, Amy's Hallmark, TonyMoly, and Tanaka Ramen are... when I saw this "new" store:808 Showcase I wondered what it was and was drawn in since there was a Hello Kitty plushie in the window. Inside, I saw BT21, Sanrio, and BTS merchandise! Ooh!Taking a look at the prices was a great idea. I thought everything was going to be typically expensive, but I was wrong. The first thing I focused on was a mini BT21 plushie keychain. It was just $5.00!!! I would have gotten a Cooky one, but it must be sold out. However, found a Cooky hair band for $4.99... yes! ...and a Baby Cooky (BT21) coin purse for 6.99!...And a BT21 Baby Cooky card holder for $7.99!Wow!There were towels, highlighter sets, and other cute purses and stickers for reasonable prices!I will return soon - especially since the cashier was so nice. She said this store opened about 4 months ago... cool!"
"On a Pokémon hunt mission...specifically Pokémon cards. I guess Pokémon cards are still a thing wish I kept mines to pass it on to my children. We arrived a little after opening and knocked on the front door. We were greeted by a sweet lady. My son looked all around for certain Pokémon card pack. Unfortunately they didn't have it but he was able to settle for something else. I found out that this store purchases directly from the company whereas Walmart has a third party bringing them in. Prices are great at where they are at, please don't raise them. :) I remember they used to be at MTC and they had a lot of snacks. No snacks that I seen during our visit. But lots and lots of cards and vinyl figures for sale. I had to look back at my pictures because I seen Sailor Moon. We will continue to come here! Two free street parking stalls out front."
"Ever heard of the Illuminati, Masons, The Skull and Bones? Well the island of Oahu has it's own secret society. I can't tell you much but I can tell you that if you want to experience a little bit of magic come to Zuke's (pronounced ZOO-keys). No pressure to buy anything. Hell, if you want you can just come and hang out, maybe learn the secret handshake or signals. Great place for kids to pick up a new hobby; great place for adults to pick up a new hobby. Overall if you happen to get the chance to visit, ask Bob or Dennis to show you..............."
"JQ = Japan QualityShopping in Honolulu is such fun! Thanks to Donna O. for telling me to check out this store. She knows that I like cute stuff and this place carries all kinds of kawaii!LOCATION - on the corner of Kona Street and Piikoi Street. This used to be Payless Shoe Source. It's next to Eggs n Things and Nijiya Market.PARKING - free shared lotSERVICE - friendly greeting right away! The cashier noticed that I was looking at the bobblehead Hello Kitty pens near the cash register and told me that there were more on the rotating rack near the store entrance... wow... the selection!MERCHANDISE - pens, pencils, coloring books, rubber stamps, stickers, notebooks, pencil cases, purses, toys, games, magnets, greeting cards, key chains, origami paper, erasers, plushies, and more!If you are a fan of anime, kawaii, and all things Japanese, you'll like this store, too!"
"I love this place! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. This is how a LCS should be and I am glad that it's close to work. Their prices are also very reasonable unlike some of the other LCS on Oahu."
"Lucky to have a great local RC shop on Island. I was in need of a 4x4 RC truck for my daughter as her Christmas wish. I was able to find it here. Not only is the store completely stocked with cars and replacement parts, the staff is very knowledgeable about the product they sell. As a starter for her I purchased her a Redcat Volcano 16. I'm actually excited to head back into Ohana RC to find something for myself as I was able to eyeball some nice crawlers they had on display."
"I went to the card show at Ala Moana and Anime Currency was there !!!! The owner Stanley was working the booth and he was VERY informative. He even answered my 8 year old daughter's questions.Their normal place is a kiosk in Ala Moana mall. They have had EVERYTHING made into cards/custom currency that vary from shows, games, anime. You name it!. They also have a lot of other merchandise.I really like that the shop captures simple things and really makes them shine the way someone who admires would see them. Again I really love my Tengen Uzui currency. He's my fav from demon slayer so I put this right up on my wall. My daughter picked out the charizard card at card show. She immediately cherished it and put it in her card collection binder as soon as we got home. I really would recommend this place for getting a gift for a kid or adult. Me and my friends will definitely be stopping by their location more often and now my daughter wants to come here to get a majority of her cards and start a collection of their currency! You will see us again soon"
"It's impossible to have too many toys! Hi Collector is a new toy and collectibles store in Honolulu. Passing by one day, I noticed their colorful superhero banner at the parking ramp and decided to check it out. I was a little disappointed to discover they are only open Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, so make note of this when planning your visit! The store is located in the commercial complex along Dillingham near Costco and the Community College. They have free parking on street level, but you'll have to walk up three levels. You're better off using the roof parking ramp at the neighboring building and walking over to the store. When they're open, it's hard to miss! The door is a bright blue and they bring a lot of their wares outside on the lanai. It's a small shop with more merchandise arriving regularly. They have a large selection of action figures and toys, used DVDs, trading cards, comic books and other pop culture collectibles. Don't come looking for anything specific, just see what they have! They have a great selection of Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and other popular characters!Hi Collector is owned by two brothers who share the business. Both are incredibly friendly and happy to have a brick and mortar store after years of just being virtual. They make great use of their space with every inch covered with items. Our first visit there was a hot day, and they provided complimentary drinks for the customers while shopping. Prices are very fair, no need to bargain. It's the type of place you need to return to often if you want to find those knickknacks you can't live without! Happy hunting!"
"Da Planet is a card gaming store near University. They specialize in Magic: the Gathering, Pokemon, and other similar customizable card games. The location is easy to get to by bus or car, free parking is outside. There is also plenty of food in the area for those times you need something to go with your game. The store itself is brightly lit, but the ambiance is very minimal and plain. It is kept clean and nice. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase, everything is priced very minimally for the mainly school-aged clientele. Countless cards are available for purchase, also dice and other small things. They have mostly phased out their stock of board games. The regular customers and staff are friendly and welcoming. There are always people to try out new games. Not a card-gamer myself, I've only been in to play board games during non-tournament times. Despite only purchasing drinks, I still felt welcome. The store also has computer gaming, which has been expanded."
"Great place to find old school toys for people of all ages, young and old. They have rocket kits, r/c kits and parts, kites, rubber band guns, and other miscellaneous hobbies. Sure you could buy many of these things online, but you don't get the same experience as coming down here with your kids. Support local!"
"Fun game/hobby shop at the Dole Cannery. We came to The Armchair Adventurer for the first time when our daughter started getting into Dungeons and Dragons. The shop was hosting a D&D model painting and character building session. The shop was well stocked with a variety of miniatures, paints, role playing games, board games, etc. There were tables set up inside and outside for painting and game playing. The shop is located next to the food court, so many games were being played in the food court. In addition to the extra table space, being next to the food court also means convenient access to sandwiches (Subway), coffee (Hawaiian Fresh Roast), Korean take out (808 Lunch), etc.Lots of parking on the Costco side parking lot or on the Regal Theater side parking garage.Always support local businesses!"
