"Pipeline has solidified its status for me as a "must visit" whenever I come to Oahu. Not everything they make is perfect. I found their seasonal gingerbread to be overpowering. But they'd make 3 things that I need when I want to taste vacation. 1) Lilikoi cheesecake bars. They are the epitome of tropical flavor to me. I love them. I can't get enough and yet I never buy enough because others in my traveling party devour them too!2) Strawberry Guava cake. Another tropical flavor. Great cake. 3) Chocolate chocolate cake. Hey! Not everything can be tropical and it resets your palette for more tropical flavors."
"How did I not know about this place a long time ago?! I stumbled upon Donut King Hawaii on accident. I went to Ben Franklin one day and noticed this small donut spot. They had different types of donuts there. We got a dozen different donuts and let me tell you, they were all amazing! We definitely will be back for more. Could you please make a location on the West Side???"
"Great onolicious sweets! Love their malasadas, lilikoi bars, long Johns, etc., etc., TOO MANY to list! The first, but definitely not the last... I had their Pumpkin Crunch Pie... yums!!!!!!!"
"Each donut is freshly made to order so they are still hot when you pick them up. They would make good gifts because the packaging is nice. Our favorite flavor was Smurf ball. Service was friendly and helpful. I like that it is open late."
"Penny's Waikiki Malasadas is located at the Hawaiian Center food court and specializes in Malasadas (Portuguese donuts). They are made to order and are available with a filling. All of the malasadas are coated in a sugar.Filled malasadas ($11 for 3) - Coconut, ube, nutella and custard were the fillings available. The malasadas were so fresh, warm and melted in my mouth. The consistency wasn't quite the same as Leonard's, but it was still very good. I was disappointed with the fillings as they were extremely watery.Overall the malasadas here are great, but are pricier and not as good as Leonard's. Also there is no line here, so don't expect a wait like one would at Leonard's. I'd stick to getting the plain malasadas here over the filled ones."
"By far a great place for donuts and pastries. The owner is terrific and friendly. Always a "hello" and greeting. Convenient right next to bus stops. During the week he has a good selection and on Saturday morning it is just nice to grab a few donuts. Very relaxed atmosphere and easy to find. Support your local businesses. I recommend the apple fritter it is almost a whole meal!"
"I came here with my family and ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant, a regular croissant, a glazed donut, a cake donut with sprinkles, and a croissant donut. This place might be called Donut King, but the bacon egg and cheese croissant was legit - it was huge and quite tasty. They warmed it up for us, which made a big difference. It was on the pricey side, but definitely filling enough for one person's breakfast. The glazed donut was solid - nice, light, and fluffy texture with just the right amount of glaze. The cake donut was just ok. The croissant donut had an enjoyable flaky texture, but was a bit too sweet for my liking. The space is small, it's just enough space to walk in and order from the counter. There's a 3% added surcharge to use a credit card instead of cash. Parking was pretty easy, as it shares the big parking lot with other stores."

In Oahu, most people probably head to Leonard's for malasadas, but I personally heard that Pipeline is a serious contender and had seen all their praise on Yelp. This said, we came to Pipeline specifically for their malasadas, although they offer a selection of baked goods and ice cream as well. Their individual-sized "cake bombs" looked particularly good! The malasadas here are not filled, but are instead just covered in flavored sugar, which comes in five varieties.... classic, cocoa, coffee, lihing (plum) and their special at the time, cinnamon. For $14.34, we got a box of six with two each of cocoa, coffee and cinnamon. After just a few minutes, an employee brought our box of malasadas out from the kitchen which were clearly made-to-order, as stated on their menu board. They were hot and fluffy and when I picked one up, I could hear the slight crinkle of the exterior. Upon first bite, it was light, soft and the dough had an elasticity where it slightly bounced back into shape. It was literally like biting into a cloud! While the malasada itself was excellent, we all thought the flavored sugar was very subtle. Although we could see fine grounds of coffee, cocoa powder and cinnamon, those flavors barely came through. All the malasadas tasted like a simple sugar donut with just a hint of flavoring. Also, a lot of the sugar didn't cling to the donuts and ended up covering the bottom of the box. The freshness of these malasadas can't be beat, but I can't say I was completely blown away. Nevertheless, I was happy to support this local business. Note: Parking is a little tough as it's located around a residential area with narrow roads. There is some metered parking across the street.

This update is limited to the croissant bites. At $3.95 for 1/2 dozen, these delectable delights are worth the hype. Crispy, flaky bites with a crème brûlée like glaze. There was a line going into this place today. I wondered if there would be any left by the time I came up to the counter to place my order. You must go early to try these delights. I was able to take pictures this time around. This is a small, but cheerful place. The glass display showcases are clean and attractive. 5/5 stars for the croissant bites.

Another 5 stars to my favorite Bakery I've been ordering pre-order pies from Ani's for the past 3 years and never disappoints. These guys got it organized so smoothly you pay online and you pick up across the street at the district park so convenient. They were also collecting non-perishable canned goods for St.Elizabeth church . I immediately went to my pantry and got a few things together. To my surprise i received a free Ani's sweet bread since I donated "Score" Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. If you haven't tried Ani' s pies I highly recommend. Of course it's not cheap like Costco but you pay for what you get . Need to treat yourselves once in awhile Life is too short . Plus support local

10/10 recommend! Second time here and didn't disappoint. They are the best donuts I've ever tried in my life lol I appreciate the plain donut the gave my dogs, they liked it but they wanted the "real" deal and kept wanting the ones on the picture lol If you're looking for fresh craft donuts, give Purvé Donut Shop a try! Just go and you'll see why they have 5 stars on Yelp ! ;) Mahalo !

Hella good,Got here at 9:30 ordered 6 then ordered 3 more. We are a family of 5, but nothing was left. Hot light fluffy malasada with multiple fillings. Having had them on other islands I never liked them. Maybe these are made for a more mainland pallet, I don't know, but these were not overly heavy making you feel weighed down and the fillings we tried were great.Everything came out warm, and soft. Sad we waited till our last day to try.

Ever walk past a store to check their times and plan to return later? That's what I did today. I love Mr. Donut and hardly get a chance to be in Downtown Honolulu when they are open. I had the chance today and decided to check when they were open at noon. Sign said 3p so I had udon first. Returning at 1:30p I actually asked my family if they wanted anything and as soon as I got there the female employee with glasses slammed the door and locked it. I tried to open the door but got no response. The woman said they were closed. I told her the hours say 3p. But she waved me away. Started trashing the donuts I was willing to purchase and didn't give me any explanation. A sign on the door saying we had an emergency or we are going on vacation would be nice. Anything would be good. But not having any communication or even another five minutes to take my order kinda sucks. Do better Mr. Donut. Must be nice not needing to make sales.

Simply Amazing. Donut Kind Hawaii at Kailua is serving up some of the freshest, airest donuts on island (for a reasonable price too)! They are most known for their bacon donuts which was sold out by the time I got there. So of course, I had to try their classics. I got a glazed, chocolate, and cinnamon sugar donut. All three were spot on amazing. No complaints. The cinnamon sugar was my favorite. It had just a good amount of sugar to the point where I wasn't jumping off walls. Service was excellent as well. The aunty working was so sweet and grateful we came in. 10/10, I would come back.

My wife and I saw the word donuts and that caught our attention. When you first walk in you kinda question if you're at the right place because theres a lot of writings of signatures on the walls like someone tagged the place up but as you keep going you'll realize you're at the right place. It not your traditional donut, it's deep fried in a Panko like material. My favorite one is the volcano with the missed berry filling. Nice and crunchy on the outside, nice and soft in the inside. My wife and I went back a couple times. The owners are really sweet and happy. They're really good and giving their opinion and they weren't wrong about the best ones. Me and my wife went back a couple times.

"We were waiting to dine in for breakfast at Goofy and saw this donut shop right downstairs. There's graffiti everywhere and it's intentional I'm assuming. A cool little underground shop. I went in just to browse not thinking that I could eat anything. But I start reading the signs and confirm with the owners that all their donuts are vegan!!! My boyfriend and I both decide on the mochi donuts. They are able to fill the inside of the donut with any of their homemade fillings. The donuts are delicious! But just a heads up they are pretty pricey! The mochi donuts were the smallest ones available and were about $5 each!! But it was so good that I might go back when I want to treat myself! Friendly service and a great place to stop by when in Waikiki!"
"I'm obsessed with mochi and this is definitely the place to go in Honolulu! They have all the flavors: mango, taro, honeydew, strawberry, etc. My sister and I ordered a lot and they made sure we got the freshest batches and gave us some freebies. It was really lovely!"
"Only open on Wednesdays from 9:30am to 5:30pm! This is a must try when in Oahu and worth the wait if there's a line!! Must eat fresh! It's like an old fashion cinnamon, doughy, fresh out the fryer, and delicious"
"Dunkin' fun...Taking my gemini sissy for a therapeutical outing since our schedule vibed this week which is very rare and as adulting has taken quite beating between us I though to take her out of the town area and headed towards Pearlridge. We have just finished the Selfie Exhibit and she was instantly drawn to here and funny that the only thing she remembered was Fun Factory which shows how long and how much she really needed to explore. Such a thrill though sad to see how much she was at awe to see Dunkin' and you know we had to give them a peek.Looking at all the donuts lined up beautifully in the display case though we already had lunch it was just sips that we were looking for "Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee" we were giggling at though they were out...sigh! Sparkd' Energy looked promising though they were out...sigh!Talk about pivot times two she got the Chai Latte while I got the Dunkin' Energy Punch which is powered by Rockstar oo! She absolutely loved her drink and mine was a bit sweet but we different and loved the time spent talking and laughing is what it's all about and the staff were such a delight and can see why many come here as the vibe was bright.Thank you!"
"Located in a booth at Ka Makana Alii near Zumiez and the main stage area is where you'll find these new donuts that have melt in da mouth kine action!I've seen these donuts on social media somewhere before but didn't know where we could get them until we were making our way towards the center of the mall and we saw this bright pink stand! The guy working there was super nice and even offered us samples. We tried the cinnamon sugar and oh boy it literally melted in your mouth and can tell the batch was freshly made. They also have fruity pebbles flavor and their special today was strawberry match. These are very tiny, airy donuts with shaken in a bag for flavor and the price isn't that bad for the quality/flavors. 1 dozen for $8, 2 dozen for $12, or 3 dozen for $15. And you bet we got the 3 dozen! LOL.Currently no cash accepted. Only Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Definitely will be coming back when we're in the area again!"
"Sunday, May 6, about one p.m., after church, we stopped for desert at Zippy's (our favorite location) We didn't eat because on that day Calvary Chapel The Ranch in Waimanalo had its monthly pot luck lunch - We were not hungry but we wanted to have coffee and some desert. We love Napoleon's deserts, they bake everything on site.I wanted to write about the wonderful service this Zippy's always has. Everything looked scrumptious but I finally settle for a cinnamon twist, my husband had a chocolate glazed donut topped with Reese's and some of their fresh unique testing coffee. I forgot the name of the wonderful white mid-fifties sweet lady that took our pastry order - thru the outside window. She was very nice and helpful in suggesting a lemon merengue pie to take back home (KoOlina). It's always nice to seat outside in the fresh air overlooking the Koko Marina. I like this place no matter the weather is always pleasant. Lots of birds too, always looking for handouts too. In two years am yet to have a bad communication with the servers - it must be the management that keeps the workers happy."
"I am updating this review so I'm hoping my earlier one-star review shows up as a corrected- starred rating of this Napolean's Bakery. The one-star review started out because I purchased two bakery items: a donut and a cake and both items had foreign material in it: a hair on the donut and a plastic/nylon or other strand of scrub brush or equipment in the cake. I would have just let the hair on the donut go, because in all my years of eating, there has been a hair, here or there. I have found pretty disgusting things worse than hairs in my food, so I was ready to let it go, but then my son found what appeared to be a plastic strand in his cake, so it was time to take action. I didn't want to be out $16 for donuts and a cake we didn't want to eat.I called the Napolean's Bakery location in the evening and spoke to a really nice manager who was really apologetic about the whole thing. He was very sorry and offered me complimentary items for the hassle of having to come back to the store to return the items, but I said there was no need, I just wanted my money back. I told him I'd be coming back the next day with the items, so they can see for themselves what I've found (I took photos but decided to let Napolean Bakery figure it out, so I've taken them down voluntarily). The next day I took the products back to the same store and had to deal with different manager who was not well-versed in customer service. I won't go into detail here but let's say it was not a pleasant experience at all and I left feeling perturbed.I got an email from two managers asking me about my experience so I let them know what transpired, from the time I found the things in my baked products to the service I got, and they were concerned and addressed some of the problems. I knew then Zippy's/Napolean Bakery takes their Yelp reviews and things like this seriously. I'm upping my review rating here from a one-star (eeks! I think not!) to a three-star (A-OK) solely based on the fact that Napolean's Bakery reached out to me and they really were concerned. I would have thought a company so huge that has cornered the local market couldn't be concerned with just one complaint, but they do take all matters seriously and that's all right in my book."
"AMAZING! My family and I had Maple Bars here on Friday then we went in today and ordered 12 Maple Bars for next Sat for my hubbys birthday and donuts for today of course. They're always Fresh and polite customer service with a smile... We have found our Donut Home"
"Kamehameha Bakery is a small shop that serves up some of the softest and most delicious pastries I've ever tried and they're even Asian dad-approved! The pastries were perfectly soft, not overly sweet, and incredibly enjoyable. Each bite felt like a little piece of heaven. The only downside was the service. The ladies could have been a bit more patient and welcoming, especially since it was hard to pick out pastries with so many options and no clear labels for about half of them. It made the ordering process a bit confusing.Despite that, the quality of the pastries more than made up for the minor hiccup. If you're looking for a place with amazing baked goods, this spot is definitely worth a visit!"
