"I went to the Waimalu Plaza location. It was a holiday so it wasn't too crowded. As the time became closer to the brunch hour the line became longer. There were four people in our party, celebrating a friend's birthday. Three people ordered the Loco Moco and the last ordered an ordinary breakfast, scrambled eggs with Spam. Then to "family style" they ordered the Pancake & Waffle set AND the Apple Caramel Pancakes. They were all so delicious. Every time I've had breakfast. I have not been disappointed."

"I have eaten at big city diner multiple times but it was my first time eating at this location. When I have been to big city, I typically go to the one in town and haven't been to big city in years.I remember the portions being a lot larger in size in the past. I ordered the loco moco with fried rice. It was a decent portion size with good flavor. We also got wings with the bbq sauce and a burger for my nephews. Service was decent but prices have definitely increased since I last ate at big city."

"The current special was shared in Facebook. Shrimp tempura with furikake salmon for $17.95. It was quite good! Too much for me to finish so I brought some salmon home. Tempura was light and crispy but by the end it got kind of oily. It was still pretty good all in all. The young server Reese was great! He had to bus the table, take order, serve, refill water and tea, all by himself.... And he was very pleasant! I recommend it!"

"Pleasantly surprised by this Zippy's! I've never been here although I've driven by hundreds of times over the years. My friend was hungry after registering her car at the Safeway kiosk (who knew you could do that) so off to her choice of eatery....Zippy's! Parking is tight and my sedan is not a compact and a lot of bigger vehicles were taking one& a half spaces. I was able to get a stall under the building and we took the elevator up to the dining room. Seated immediately by a young, politely engaging and very tall man who gave us menus including the Sushi Bar menu advising it wasn't available for another 15 minutes but just in case we wanted to order he left us to peruse and choose what we wanted while he got our drinks.He returned with our drinks and we placed our orders which were promptly delivered still hot and steaming. Remarkably he returned several times to check on us. If you've ever been to Zippy's you know why I found the remarkable. My experience has always been once the wait staff drops your food you don't see them until you flag someone down to bring a check. Food was typical Zippy's fare but the service elevated the experience to 4 stars. Nicholas, his name was Nicholas hi just found my receipt!)"

Total was roughly $66.Kailua town has the worst pricing due to the influx of tourists & inflation. These days it's comparable to Waikiki prices.Good: food was yummyMain hostess was nice.Food was quick 10-15minsBad: -small portions$26 for a kalbi lunch plate that came with small kimchee side, a dollop of cabbage and 2pcs kalbi and 1 scoop rice each plate.-lack of convenience/// please consider having your team ask for a customer's name & write it on their bag if its just left on the takeout table-idk her name but the 2nd girl working was obviously only helping me to grab my order when she was checking my receipt, she made sure to check for a tip (girl bffr,on a takeout order of 3 plates, with 2 being entrees) LOLs-the slowness effect of morning time visitors especially catering to elderly customers who want to talk story with each employee Note: I don't know why the BCD owners (if they're connected or not, I don't really know) didn't try harder to keep BCD Kaimuki open- because that location's cooks could really COOK. Even when it was busy and the wait time was little bit longer, it definitely left you feeling like it was worth the drive/wait for the food.They did charge $1 extra compared to Kailua location, but the portions were so worth the extra $1."

"Happy National Chili Day...Yup that's today along with National Strawberry Day and a special recognition for me as well with meeting up with a friend for lunch made it kinda special day and as I drove around like a mission needed to be done I decided to stop at Zippy's and this Ewa location does have a special place in my heart.With a much needed break this I stopped here since they do have lots of free parking and super easy access from either direction you're coming from and the vibe here is relaxing as the dining room is nice and clean, the service here is just so friendly as I jumped to order my regular chili on white rice and it was beanless for me (they have vegetarian as well) and the special was 25% which is huge and who could you some savings...me!You can enjoy their famous chili in so many other ways as mine is on top of spaghetti, but there are Chili Hot Dog, Chili Burger, or just a Chili Plate whatever your cravings they can do it and am so happy to have the lucky timing to enjoy this famous chili on their special day.Thank you!"

It's good and satisfies the craving, but not some place to go out of your way for. Service in the dining room is always friendly, so we enjoy that aspect.Where this place shines is the desserts. My favorite is the dobash cake that is decadently rich while being moist and airy, I could eat almost half the smaller cake if no one was watching. Rainbow cake is also good, and all their pastries are worth trying."

"Revisiting the east side of the island with my friend, I decided to eat at Zippy's at the koko marina center. Sadly, the dining area is closed as well as the bathrooms at Zippy's. There is a bathroom, but it is at the building on the left side of zippy's on the second floor of the building, next to the florist.Food was the same as other zippy's, fresh and fried chicken was crunchy. Even though it was outside, we could eat our lunch in peace having it next to the pier with a scenic serene view of the ocean.Service was fast, but tables were a bit dirty, and a table also didn't have a tabletop, and at least there weren't bird turd since there is a sign posted "don't feed the birds," but there was a dove that was persistent in hanging near our table even if we tried shooing it away."

"Shout out to the team that worked the Halloween night shift. It was around 830 pm we placed our phone order and when we got there it was totally packed. Long line but a majority was waiting for orders up. As the time passed by for the next 5-10 minutes the team that worked the front pick up area was on a roll, plates and drinks were being completed and called out. No one was fussing or frazzled. It was awesome watching each of them hustle plus the back of the house. It was pretty cool. Our order was called and had no problem with our order and we were ready to head home and enjoy the Las Vegas Plate, mini Korean chicken and mini spaghetti with garlic bread. Great job to you guys! "Excellent customer service! We were asked to check in at the front of the restaurant when we arrived, and were brought to our table shortly after. Breakfast ended at 10:30am but since we arrived at 10:33am, we were given the breakfast and brunch menu. I ordered the two eggs breakfast with a hamburger patty as my meat, and I substituted the rice for a roasted macadamia nut pancake. Since the pancake was a specialty pancake, there was a slight up charge for it. My husband ended up getting the Teri hamburger steak plate that came with fried rice and vegetables. When the plates came out, my food was done perfectly, but my husband's hamburger was not cooked to his liking. Our waiter immediately apologized and took his plate back to the kitchen to be fixed. We waited for a while and his plate came back newly made and cooked perfectly! My pancake was absolutely delicious, and I would definitely come back for it. The rest of the food was okay, still delicious but not as good as the pancake. We'll definitely be back to try other menu items."

"Next Stop...riding the Skyline!For a limited time Zippy's was giving free limited edition HOLO Card with purchase of their Skyline Pac to celebrate the start of our city's Skyline though these were offered only at four location which Dillingham was one.Thinking I had the date wrong as there was no signage I asked if they had it and was told yes by the staff whew! I did arrive early to be sure and to avoid traffic which worked out perfectly. The Skyline Pac has half a piece of hotdog, four pieces of Portuguese sausage and Korean fried chicken all on a huge bed of rice all my favorites in one and it was so yummy!!Dillingham location is so convenient as it's accessible from many backroads even with the all the Skyline construction and with lots of parking not a problem to show them some love. Lots of seating and the open air vibe makes it a cool place to chill and enjoy. Thank you!"

"First stop straight from the airport. Nothing like good old Zippy's to satiate you after a long travel day. This specific one is in Kalihi - away from the hustle & bustle of the more touristy locations. They do not have the dine in restaurant side, but you can order from the counter and sit wherever you please. Small bakery selection of cakes & donuts as well. Korean fried chicken is my favorite here. The plate comes with chicken, mac salad, & rice - option to get a mini size too. Their chili fries, loco moco, musubi, & saimin are delicious. The best bang for your buck are the mixed plates - all the favorites in one plate for $16, easily shared between two. Huge menu, it's difficult to narrow it down especially when you want to try it all. Check out their daily specials for some deals. We love the food here. Excellent customer service. Affordable & delicious meals. ...but why is the oxtail soup $30 for an order? Wanted to try but that's quite expensive for a diner entree, maybe next time."

"Lunch in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii...My friend, Marlina from New Jersey, remembered going to Zippy's when she attended the University of Hawaii with me back in the day. I knew she wanted to go to any Zippy's location, and this one (on the corner of Waialae Avenue and 7th Avenue) was convenient.The only downsides were that: 1. it has outside dining only (not pleasant for people from the mainland because of our humidity, even in January) and 2. a sketchy individual was hanging around, took a nap at one of the tables, and went in the restroom. He knew the code! After seeing that, we went to Kahala Mall for their restroom. Marlina enjoyed her Saimin, and I got my standard chili (with beans), brown rice, cheese, and onions.We sat under one of the fans for maximum cool temperature. We were grateful for the free parking, efficient, friendly service, and happy food memories..."
