"The best food truck on Oahu. Must visit place if you travel to Hawaii. Menu is simple. They provided breakfast and lunch. I tried their signature boneless Kalbi before and it tasted delicious. Currently my favorite is their Furikake Crusted Salmon. OMG! It's freaking good. The salmon was very moist and flavorful. My parents always order their Peeled Garlic Butter Shrimp. They said it tastes better than Giovannis. In addition, DO NOT miss their pan-fried poke. It's exceptionally delicious.Very friendly staffs and fast service. There're 3 tables for people to sit down and enjoy the food. I heard they just bought the food truck from JOJA and renovated it. Overall- DO NOT miss this food truck in North Shore."
"Recommended by a friend for Brunch and was not disappointed with the food! They had an open seating, as long as the table was not reserved you can choose where to sit, but I was a little cold so I would bring a sweater next time. Don't sleep on the Cajun Fish N Grits! This dish was recommended by the waitress. I was a little worried because looking back at other reviews they all looked very different, but it was so flavorful! The fish wasn't dry and the corn bread was pretty good too. The only thing I didn't really like was the bacon on the side, but my friend said it was good to have since it was sweet to balance the salty Cajun flavor. We also ordered the Biscuits N Gravy, which was delicious! We used the extra gravy with the biscuits and dipped the chicken in with every bite!"

"Love this zippy's. Clean, bigger dining area and waitress was superb. Korean Chicken chili combo - 5 stars - although prices are going up everywhere, I love their crispy and sweet korean chicken. Goes great with their famous chili.Service - our waitress was excellent. Lots of parking, and enter though the backside from the main road."
"Food was great, but no service at all - the lady who took our order clearly didn't want to be there. And... $4 for a soda but no refill? I'd go back for the food though. Fried chicken and chili... yum!"
"Very neat and modern interior. There's good table and chair seating. Ample walkway.Menus are large and up on the wall near the counter.Interesting decor and trophies on display. There's about 4 parking spots right in front of the restaurant. The cashier was kind and explained their menu items. He also cut up our grilled meat requests. Their credit card scanner is propped right onto the back of the register unlike most displays."
"Early dinner from Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii...I have now been to every location of Jolene's on this island! Chinatown has the most challenging parking situation. Airport has an industrial ambiance. Kaneohe is spacious and has easy parking. Ewa Beach is the most Instagramable! Check out the signature koi fish wall right outside the cafe! Look at all of the cute wall murals! With free parking at the Laulani Shopping Center, this Jolene's is located between Hawaii State Federal Credit Union and Ahi & Vegetable on the Ross wing of the mall.Service was exceptionally friendly and efficient! Rowena is a cheerful cashier and was very helpful and informative! She explained how Jolene drew the designs on the package! Wow! Very cool!I got the famous Buttah Lobster Roll... it has soft, thick bread with some pickled veggies underneath the shredded lobster. It's a perfect combination of tart and sweet vs. chewy and crisp. I'll be back for other menu items!"
"The current special was shared in Facebook. Shrimp tempura with furikake salmon for $17.95. It was quite good! Too much for me to finish so I brought some salmon home. Tempura was light and crispy but by the end it got kind of oily. It was still pretty good all in all. The young server Reese was great! He had to bus the table, take order, serve, refill water and tea, all by himself.... And he was very pleasant! I recommend it!"
"I Love Zippy's!Always a must go for me when i visit the islands. Korean Fried Chicken for me please. Clean, fast, Aloha. Do i need to say more? Open at 6am, got there at 6:05, already 10+ people there."
"Pleasantly surprised by this Zippy's! I've never been here although I've driven by hundreds of times over the years. My friend was hungry after registering her car at the Safeway kiosk (who knew you could do that) so off to her choice of eatery....Zippy's! Parking is tight and my sedan is not a compact and a lot of bigger vehicles were taking one& a half spaces. I was able to get a stall under the building and we took the elevator up to the dining room. Seated immediately by a young, politely engaging and very tall man who gave us menus including the Sushi Bar menu advising it wasn't available for another 15 minutes but just in case we wanted to order he left us to peruse and choose what we wanted while he got our drinks. He returned with our drinks and we placed our orders which were promptly delivered still hot and steaming. Remarkably he returned several times to check on us. If you've ever been to Zippy's you know why I found the remarkable. My experience has always been once the wait staff drops your food you don't see them until you flag someone down to bring a check. Food was typical Zippy's fare but the service elevated the experience to 4 stars. Nicholas, his name was Nicholas hi just found my receipt!)"
"Typical American diner environment. It was quie in the morning besides the elderly singles/families having their coffee/breakfast.I had 2x of the Kalbi Lunch Plates & 1x of the short stack pancakes. Total was roughly $66.Kailua town has the worst pricing due to the influx of tourists & inflation. These days it's comparable to Waikiki prices.Good: food was yummyMain hostess was nice.Food was quick 10-15minsBad: -small portions$26 for a kalbi lunch plate that came with small kimchee side, a dollop of cabbage and 2pcs kalbi and 1 scoop rice each plate.-lack of convenience/// please consider having your team ask for a customer's name & write it on their bag if its just left on the takeout table-idk her name but the 2nd girl working was obviously only helping me to grab my order when she was checking my receipt, she made sure to check for a tip (girl bffr,on a takeout order of 3 plates, with 2 being entrees) LOLs-the slowness effect of morning time visitors especially catering to elderly customers who want to talk story with each employee Note: I don't know why the BCD owners (if they're connected or not, I don't really know) didn't try harder to keep BCD Kaimuki open- because that location's cooks could really COOK. Even when it was busy and the wait time was little bit longer, it definitely left you feeling like it was worth the drive/wait for the food. They did charge $1 extra compared to Kailua location, but the portions were so worth the extra $1."
"This is like the fast food Denny's of Hawaii. I absolutely love this place. It was so cute. It was a quick spot to get moco loco, when I go back to visit, this will definitely be on my regular rotation to stop in. It was a fun cool quick place to get a cheap meal for the whole family. We all got very full at the food was great. Customer service was great."
"Happy National Chili Day...Yup that's today along with National Strawberry Day and a special recognition for me as well with meeting up with a friend for lunch made it kinda special day and as I drove around like a mission needed to be done I decided to stop at Zippy's and this Ewa location does have a special place in my heart. With a much needed break this I stopped here since they do have lots of free parking and super easy access from either direction you're coming from and the vibe here is relaxing as the dining room is nice and clean, the service here is just so friendly as I jumped to order my regular chili on white rice and it was beanless for me (they have vegetarian as well) and the special was 25% which is huge and who could you some savings...me!You can enjoy their famous chili in so many other ways as mine is on top of spaghetti, but there are Chili Hot Dog, Chili Burger, or just a Chili Plate whatever your cravings they can do it and am so happy to have the lucky timing to enjoy this famous chili on their special day.Thank you!"

Da best...One guy had been on my list it's Da Bald Guy and thanks to Honolulu Night Market in Kaka'ako it's been checked off. Though not my first experience enjoying his dishes it was through an event that I've been lucky to enjoy but I really wanted to get my hands on his plate. On this night he surely didn't disappoint with choices of Pan Fried Poke (spicy or regular), Chopped Rib Eye Steak, Boneless Braised Kalbi and Butter Garlic Shrimp (Spicy or Regular) and though I had intent of getting the Rib Eye it was the Pan Fried Poke since I haven't tried it yet and regular with aioli. With basically no wait as I watched in awe Da Bald Guy making it all along side staff finishing with sauce and garnishes was a very well developed system. The rice was cooked perfectly with a slight bite like you'd enjoy on a sushi so the ride home didn't get it all soggy and was still in prime bites. In the midst of the Night Market and the long lines the vibe was amazing and so was my plate.Thank you!

Visited Smith & Kings for a Sunday brunch with a small party of 3 of us. The place was packed with a few open tables that were reserved for upcoming parties. We were fine with bar seating so got seated right away up at the bar. They were a full house at the time we sat down so it was a bit of a long wait for our food to come. But they were upfront with us that the kitchen was backed up so it was going to be a while. We were in no rush and despite the wait time, they were open and kept checking on us with updates as they could, so great service there. I ordered the Butterfly Pea Tea Lemonade (mocktail), the BLT Benedict with the tomato bisque as my complimentary side, and the Breakfast Poutine for the table to share. My boyfriend got the burger with grits and they mistakenly gave him the soup but they corrected it right away. The food was good, not spectacular great, but it was good. The lemonade was super refreshing and I would've loved adding some gin to it (just wasn't feeling like a drink after running a 10k lol). BUT you can turn the mocktail into a cocktail, which I saw the couple next to us do. Will be back again to try their cocktails. They also have board/card games section that you can use so it's a good spot for socializing with friends. I really want to looove this place and they have great potential, but as of now the food price point to value isn't at that level yet. TL;DR: if you're in the area or doing a bar hop downtown, check them out and try them out for yourself! Lemonade mocktail is yum (add some alcohol for extra yum), tomato bisque is yummy too.

Our first time trying Zippy's. You see it all over Tiktok so we had to add this to our food lineup when we came to Hawaii. We came on a Tuesday afternoon. We came for brunch. They have their own parking lot so that was nice. Lots of diners already seated. We didn't wait at all and were seated in a booth right away. I had looked over the menu before coming and knew I wanted the oxtail soup if it was being served when we visited and IT WAS!!!! Broth was piping hot and so rich in flavor. My large bowl was packed with at least 5 medium to large pieces of oxtail and a ton of bright green choi sum and cilantro. It came with rice but you almost don't need it. Shared with my son whom I knew would want to even though he ordered his own meal. Portion is definitely enough for two. Also came with a side of ginger you could add to your liking. My eldest son ordered eggs, hashbrown and toast. My youngest son ordered the veggie omelet with hashbrown and toast. We were all very happy and full when we left. We will be back to visit!

Zippys is always a must have when in Hawaii! They have a variety of different items to choose from like loco moco, Korean fried chicken, saimin, and their famous chili! They have so much more but these are my favorites. The staff is always so friendly when we come in. It's a chill place to either come in to eat or even take out.

This is their second location...The original location is much nicer; better ambiance, easier to find and more inviting with a more upscale feeling. The Food is still so ono... broke da mout kine. Parking is terrible on the other hand. There is a dirt parking lot directly across the street with some additional spaces and fills up quickly. #SmokedGrinds:~ Smoked Mixed Plate: - Smoked Salmon Bellies - 4.5/5Perfectly "Smoked" Salomon Belly with a slight char on the outside. Tender and moist on the inside. & - Smoked Loco Moco (Spicy) - 4.5/5Same. Same. The Loco Moco here is done differently. They use Pork & a creamy White Gravy instead of the traditional Beef and Brown Gravy. Very different, but oh so tasty! If you are expecting a traditional Loco Moco, you might be a bit stumped, but I doubt you 'd be disappointed.~ Smoked Mixed Plate: - Smoked Meat Chili - 5/5 & Homemade Chili! Just delish...with a nice kick, but not too spicy. & - Smoked Pork (w/ Fried Rice) - 4/5Amazing Smoke flavor on the Pork. It was a bit too well done, some pieces were a bit tough. Still completely edible. Don't forget to grab a Guava Bar or two for dessert!I'm glad they're dong well.Of course, I'll be back if I'm in the area...Just wish for better parking.

Signature Lobster roll made banh mi style was delicious. Roll lightly toasted, shredded lobster salad over the pickled daikon and carrots. The freshly fried waffle fries were also excellent. Highly recommended! Went to the Ewa Beach location to enjoy indoor seating.

We haven't been to Zippys in quite awhile, and decided to go since it's on our way home.Hubby was craving noodles, so he had the won ton min, and I had the zip min. Generous portions, yummy and it hit the spot!Nothing like a local meal...recommend.

"Ate here recently and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff. I ordered the orange chicken with rice. The orange chicken was some of the best that I have ever had. The rice was a simple white rice, so not too much to say about that. I had 3 dining companions with me with one ordering the chicken and waffles, the other two having the house fried gyoza with the noodles. The chicken is two boneless breast pieces that are fried to perfection with a nice bubbly waffle. The gyoza came in chicken and beef again paired with the noodles. The gyoza and noodles were awesome. The cafe has a wide variety of teas that are served in a bag; somewhat hard for me to explain. The cafe is located in an industrial complex and parking may be a little difficult. Once inside the complex, the cafe is down a hallway. Chelsea was the only employee that we dealt with and she is amazing. She is energetic and aims to make the guest as happy and comfortable as possible. Definitely going back."
"Decent dinner and great desserts! They do an okay job with all the local favorites, like chili, teri beef sandwich, and won ton mein. It's good and satisfies the craving, but not some place to go out of your way for. Service in the dining room is always friendly, so we enjoy that aspect.Where this place shines is the desserts. My favorite is the dobash cake that is decadently rich while being moist and airy, I could eat almost half the smaller cake if no one was watching. Rainbow cake is also good, and all their pastries are worth trying."
"Newly Remodeled looking - or the first time I seen it like this. I used to come here back in the days but mostly would eat outside on my commute to work from Makaha to Downtown - So out of character to eat by myself for lunch but I was so hungry and had back to back meetings and it's a Friday so I treated myself to a zipmin, double garnish and fried chicken.the lady was friendly and attentive. haven't eaten inside in a while so noticed a different menu - it was a two sided menu that was longer than the previous menu but less bulky lol more simplified. Wish they had club sandwich to go though. with tip it did cost me a little over $30! which I guess is the going rate and I was veryyy full! it was nice and cleanI like that you can pay via qr code on the table - I did forget to add my zipster rewards - not sure how to let the server know?! anyways - will be back again!"
"Revisiting the east side of the island with my friend, I decided to eat at Zippy's at the koko marina center. Sadly, the dining area is closed as well as the bathrooms at Zippy's. There is a bathroom, but it is at the building on the left side of zippy's on the second floor of the building, next to the florist.Food was the same as other zippy's, fresh and fried chicken was crunchy. Even though it was outside, we could eat our lunch in peace having it next to the pier with a scenic serene view of the ocean.Service was fast, but tables were a bit dirty, and a table also didn't have a tabletop, and at least there weren't bird turd since there is a sign posted "don't feed the birds," but there was a dove that was persistent in hanging near our table even if we tried shooing it away."
"Shout out to the team that worked the Halloween night shift. It was around 830 pm we placed our phone order and when we got there it was totally packed. Long line but a majority was waiting for orders up. As the time passed by for the next 5-10 minutes the team that worked the front pick up area was on a roll, plates and drinks were being completed and called out. No one was fussing or frazzled. It was awesome watching each of them hustle plus the back of the house. It was pretty cool. Our order was called and had no problem with our order and we were ready to head home and enjoy the Las Vegas Plate, mini Korean chicken and mini spaghetti with garlic bread. Great job to you guys! Mahalo Zippys Waipio!"
"Simple food served quick. Theres a lot of options and specials every day. The mochiko chicken was super crunchy and hot -- a great breading mix. The tuna was cooked through with a tasty garlic sauce. We also had a few turon (fried banana lumpia... they were perfect and freshly fried!). Great stop for a quick bite on the move."
"Don't know why there is hate on this place, went there many times, service was top notch, no wait times, the place was clean, bathrooms clean the workers were super nice. The food came out with better presentation than I expected. I had the large wuntun min, and we had veggie chilli and a pancake. It was all good and we ate every last bite.Definitely would come again. To finish it off we had a mochi donut and 2 glazed donuts. Tastes great!! and very affordable"
"March is National Noodle Month...Cheers that it has 31 days to celebrate the one carb that I love...and here at Kamukura Ramen a place that's been on my list for quite some time that I finally get to give a peek as I've heard so much about them and the choices they have from their Grand Menu of Oishi Ramen to Hawaii Special Menu of Cheese Tomato that I actually really wanted to try but did notice the "Chicken Char Siu Ramen" as it consists of Yuzu Lemon Flavor that I love.I really wanted to sit one of their counter seats but since it was thirty minutes to closing I was denied which I totally understand but what a bummer as it was a much comforting vibe.Once I found one of many seatings available in Lanai Food Court packing was nice as they separate the noodle and soup which was okay as the yuzu was like a yuzu pepper paste you need to mix in with the soup and had more of a sharper pepper flavor than yuzu which was disappointing but their gyoza was quite huge with five pieces in an order had a nice chewy wrapper filled that was a generous serving along with a packet of sauce for their convenience but was an inconvenience for me as it was impossible to dip.Keeping the kama'aina in mind with giving a free 1/2 seasoned egg with a proof of Hawaii State ID is nice to keep us coming back for more to support this gem located in the Lanai Food Court.Thank you!"
"The patio area was under construction and was noisy with that plus music and lots of big screens on at once. Someday soon it will be a great place to have tasty food and a calming view in a casual setting with attentive servers. Although I'd read reviews saying the prices were high , we found that the sandwiches were huge and served on delicious brioche buns. I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had brisket."
"I've passed by Zippy's Kailua a number of times but never had the chance to go to their dine-in restaurant until my girlfriend and I went on a Friday evening. Service is alright, but was still moderately slow despite the fact it was not very crowded at the time of our visit. Anyways, Zippy's has some wonderful menu items and food! There is usually plenty of parking available but can fill up quickly during peak periods."
"Tiana was crazy spectacular. Her service was unmatched and very impressive. She mighty have be the Virgin Mary . My cup was always full before I could ask for more freshly brewed ice tea . My food came out hot and ready for me to kaukau kanaka attack small kine. Her smile just was so welcoming. If you want ultra ultimate 5 star service go to Zippys Waipahu and ask for Tiana she's the one . Call and. Book for a table first she's in high demand. Take care all my peeps out there and spread the positive love to each other and go see my girl she going take care you many blessings peace I'm out"
"Next Stop...riding the Skyline! For a limited time Zippy's was giving free limited edition HOLO Card with purchase of their Skyline Pac to celebrate the start of our city's Skyline though these were offered only at four location which Dillingham was one.Thinking I had the date wrong as there was no signage I asked if they had it and was told yes by the staff whew! I did arrive early to be sure and to avoid traffic which worked out perfectly. The Skyline Pac has half a piece of hotdog, four pieces of Portuguese sausage and Korean fried chicken all on a huge bed of rice all my favorites in one and it was so yummy!!Dillingham location is so convenient as it's accessible from many backroads even with the all the Skyline construction and with lots of parking not a problem to show them some love. Lots of seating and the open air vibe makes it a cool place to chill and enjoy. Thank you!"
"First stop straight from the airport. Nothing like good old Zippy's to satiate you after a long travel day. This specific one is in Kalihi - away from the hustle & bustle of the more touristy locations. They do not have the dine in restaurant side, but you can order from the counter and sit wherever you please. Small bakery selection of cakes & donuts as well. Korean fried chicken is my favorite here. The plate comes with chicken, mac salad, & rice - option to get a mini size too. Their chili fries, loco moco, musubi, & saimin are delicious. The best bang for your buck are the mixed plates - all the favorites in one plate for $16, easily shared between two. Huge menu, it's difficult to narrow it down especially when you want to try it all. Check out their daily specials for some deals. We love the food here. Excellent customer service. Affordable & delicious meals. ...but why is the oxtail soup $30 for an order? Wanted to try but that's quite expensive for a diner entree, maybe next time."
"Lunch in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii...My friend, Marlina from New Jersey, remembered going to Zippy's when she attended the University of Hawaii with me back in the day. I knew she wanted to go to any Zippy's location, and this one (on the corner of Waialae Avenue and 7th Avenue) was convenient. The only downsides were that: 1. it has outside dining only (not pleasant for people from the mainland because of our humidity, even in January) and 2. a sketchy individual was hanging around, took a nap at one of the tables, and went in the restroom. He knew the code! After seeing that, we went to Kahala Mall for their restroom. Marlina enjoyed her Saimin, and I got my standard chili (with beans), brown rice, cheese, and onions. We sat under one of the fans for maximum cool temperature. We were grateful for the free parking, efficient, friendly service, and happy food memories..."
"I wanted to come here the last time I visited (November 2021), so was glad to stop by during my Spring trip! Ko Tiki Terrace is located at the Bamboo Hotel on Kuhio Ave. Food was simple and delicious! Friendly and attentive staff!Atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. You can also hear the mini waterfall behind the pool. The pool had a pretty blue color lighting, with a jacuzzi attached to the left. People are welcome to swim and chill in the waters. The place would be pretty solid, once they get their liquor license. However, they do allow you to BYOB (Bring your own Booze) and have non-alcoholic drinks you can mix with whichever booze you decide to bring. Recommend checking this place out!"
"It was late evening on Valentine's Day that my male companion and I showed up at West Side Bar & Grill in Kapolei Marketplace. Entering the food establishment we noticed the dart boards as well as the bar area. The restaurant was busy at night since the employees were servicing the other workers from nearby establishments. We didn't order any food since the kitchen was already shut down. We ordered drinks though. My male companion ended up playing a few rounds of darts with one of the other male customers. In the background I can hear another customer singing karaoke.I asked the bartender, Jesse, about the price of karaoke. She mentioned that every Wednesday night is free karaoke night. That's good to know if you want to sing karaoke. Yes I did sing a couple songs. My male companion sang a few songs. We even did a karaoke duet. The restroom is located near the back of the restaurant. The female restroom was very clean. I noticed another door that leads outside for those customers who want to have an outdoor seating during meal time.I think my male companion and I were the last ones to leave the restaurant before it closed for the night. Someday I would like to try the food menu items. I just don't know when that will happen."
"Huge portions, You'll have leftovers for tomorrow. Good quality food for the price & food court wise. Friendly staff. Quick and easy eats. If you see a lot of islander locals lined up for their food, you know it is daaaaa bomb. Go for it."
"Nicole, our server, was terrific, and Linda, the hostess, gave us the warmest welcome and suggested some popular items to order. Menu was extensive and food was on point. Full bar in the biggity back too! Would HIGHLY recommend."
"Great brunch spot! The street tacos, loco moco, and ganduli rice are amazing.Service is always friendly & quick, even when there's a constant wait list."
"The best Japanese authentic tonkatsu on the island and it's only a 10 minute walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. This was our second visit. Reservations is a must since the restaurant is so small. I made mine a month in advance. Kurobuta Pork Loin 7oz Katsu- The pork was extremely moist, juicy, tender and fatty. It was fried to perfection. It was perfectly crisp, golden exterior and not greasy. Each Katsu set comes with AYCE shredded cabbage and rice. Specialty Kurobuta Pork Loin Katsu ( 25 serving per day) - Absolutely fantastic. This was so flavorful. Pork was juicy and marbled with fat. Fried Black Tiger Shrimp Katsu ( al carte) - This were huge shrimps. Fried perfectly. It was served with a side of egg tartar sauce. If you're looking for authentic Japanese tonkatsu I highly recommend Ginza Bairin. Service was fantastic, fast and very friendly. Until next time."
