Michael K. "I'm not too chicken to give a restaurant a second chance and I'm glad I did because this place is peck-tacular! After a rough first visit during the soft opening, I visited this place again and was pleasantly surprised. For the food, I had popcorn chicken, waffle fries, and the shrimp sandwich. Notwithstanding my large size, I know my way around shrimp. The shrimp sandwich here is really good! The patty is filled with shrimp and has a nicely golden brown breading. It comes with lettuce, tomato, and a delicious sauce. This is the best shrimp sandwich I've ever had!The popcorn chicken is also clucking delicious. It comes with an orange sauce that is similar to the rest of the flock of chicken restaurants. The waffle fries have really leveled up since my last visit and are now worth waffling over. Located in the same shopping center as Diners/Upscale, a visit Uncles should satisfy all of your greasy desires."

Item 1 The Quarter Chicken Item 2 The Half Chicken Item 3 Shredded Breast are gluten free. The fries are fried in a dedicated fryer and are gluten free, unconfirmed gf status for the Cajun fries. They will investigate. The service is super friendly and helpful. And the food is so good, it's going to be one of my regular spots when I'm in this neck of the woods and craving some sweet potato fries +$1 and chicken, which is fresh natural premium chicken which is not frozen, hormone and injection free. I was told the owner likes to answer questions so feel free to reach out to them on their website. Provecho!"

Rachael H. "Finally got to try overlord chicken, and it was delicious! Service is great, and if you like mala (numbing) spice, you'll love their noodle/dry pot selection. The chicken is also very tender, breaded lightly, and crispy. The beef noodle soup is delicious and gets spicy if you want it to be, and the veggies & noodles are authentic. The only comment is the beef cuts weren't the best and were more tendony, but if you like that then you will love the beef noodles. Inside has limited seating but it moves pretty quickly. Parking is tougher but you can find some around the neighborhood."

Everything works so well together. Service: The lady taking our order was very nice and it didn't take too long to get our food. We just walked down the row of food tents and back.Ambiance: I really liked being able to see the chicken and porchetta being cook on the rotisserie as well as them constructing the sandwich in front of you.Price: it's a little pricey, but the sandwich is so good that I'd say it's worth it."

Shelby I. "Quality & elevated plate lunches! My hubby raved about this place's katsu sandwich. We were dog sitting in Mililani & had to stop by for lunch. First off, this place is located at the Mililani Mauka town center. It's a small shop where we were able to order in advance and pick up. We got the Katsu Sandwich & Salmon Katsu plate. My hubby loves the Katsu Sandwich ($16) here because the tonkatsu is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It has a good amount of shredded cabbage and tonkatsu sauce. It also came with a separate container of salad, edamame, & pickled veggies. My Salmon Katsu ($18.50) was honestly the best salmon Katsu I've ever had! First off, it was HUGE!! It had a nice crispy outer coating & was dipped in a sweet and savory ponzu sauce then topped with shiso aioli. It came with 2 scoops of rice, edamame, and pickled veggies. For the quality & amount of food you get, I think this place is priced right. Although we said 12pm pick up, the food wasn't ready which is fine with us because that means our food was super fresh & not sitting out. Overall, this will be our new go to place in Mililani!"

The adobo rice was decent, it's even better if you put the gravy on it. The shop is small & located in the ala Moana mall. The service was mediocre, they itemize everything & it was pricey. The chicken tenders & fries we ordered had like zero seasoning on them which was kinda disappointing. Then our drink carrier was defective and spilled our drinks all over the floor which was frustrating. The younger worker was nice enough to replace them for me though. Nice kid. After one wing they quickly went back to order more to eat and then some to go for later. The service was good. The staff were friendly and the food came out piping hot. This location is on the second floor of the HMart amongst several other eateries in the food court. After you order and pay, you are given a ticket with a number. You can go sit with your party and wait for your number to be called over a PA system that announces the restaurant name and ticket number. Public Bathrooms in their area require a code (5678) that someone from another restaurant was kind enough to share with us. I wouldDefinitely go back and enjoy additional flavors of chicken. Jimmy L. "Once in a while on the way home, we'll pass by this place that looks like they sell Korean fried chicken. Though with a name like "Good Chicken," we were a bit skeptical for quite a while - is it REALLY good or are you just saying that? Nonetheless, we decided to bite the bullet one weekend afternoon and stopped by to order. Our first time actually resulted in a relatively long wait. Maybe 30-40 minutes for a few orders so rest assured, no wing was left uneaten that afternoon. The wings themselves were still crisp by the time we got back to the apartment, the flavors were outstanding, and it was juicy on the inside. Good chicken might also be one of the few places that offers really good rose tteokbokki and other sides as well so don't sleep on those if you have a good appetite. The second time we got Good Chicken, we called it in prior to avoid the wait. Wings and rose tteokbokki were ready by the time we got there and they even generously threw in some extra goodies for us at no cost.Overall, I think Good Chicken makes some of the best Korean fried chicken on the island to be completely honest. Better than the franchises you see popping up. We'd probably pick this place over B.B.Q. which is one of my favorite chains. Though admittedly, we don't come as often as we could. We noticed that they opened another location in Waikiki and unfortunately, we weren't really craving Korean fried chicken that day. Though I really do hope they do well because this place deserves it. Highly recommend calling in and making an order the next time you're craving for some Korean fried chicken!"

Yay me! Lol!I had bookmarked this joint called - "T & L Market" in Kalihi, because after seeing the pics of da grindz from a few of my Yelp buddies, I told myself that I should check this place out one day. While doing some online training modules in my office, when lunch time rolled around, I told my coworker if he like check out T & L Market?I'd figure if I took my friend with me, if I could not find parking, I would have my friend drive my car around the block a few times while I ran inside to pick up some lunch time grindz for both of us.I guess the parking gods were lookin' out for me, because when I got to T & L Market, someone had just pull out of the parking lot, so I swooped into the parking space! SCORE!!!Upon walking into the joint, the menu is posted on the wall. There were several fixed plate lunch menu items, or if you want to make a custom plate for yourself, they had a lot of ala carte daily items (see my take out menu pic I posted).Don't want a plate lunch? I also noticed this business sold some bakery items (not sure if they make the pastries themselves, or if they catered it in), candy, & drinks.Although T & L Market is known for their noodles & fried chicken, I opted for the Garlic Chicken Plate because I didn't get my garlic chicken fix last week, and I was so craving for my garlic chicken. For $12.00 smackaz, I got two scoops white rice, a scoop of mac salad, & a whole bunch of boneless garlic chicken. My friend opted for the Mini Garlic Chicken Plate ($9.00) which was the same as my plate, minus a scoop of white rice, and maybe a little less garlic chicken. What can I say about the grub? The food here was pretty good, but not great. The Garlic Chicken marinade was different from what I would get from Sugoi's or K & K Kitchen. The garlic marinade was not as garlicky, or sweet, but some folks like it like that. As for me, I just LOVE Sugoi's garlic chicken marinade, so you probably know which I would prefer. Overall, the prices here are very reasonable, and for what you pay, and what you get, I must say it's DEALAGES Yo!The next time I come here, I will try their noodles & fried chicken, because after all, if you check out all the pics from this business, you'll see a lot of noodles & fried chicken pics! They're in the same shopping plaza as Safeway, right next to Liko's.I had read that they make each order fresh and that it typically takes 20 minutes, so I called my order in. The person who took my order said it'd be 10-15 min, but it was definitely 20+ min. It's a small place with 4-5 tables inside. It seemed that all of the customers who came in were getting their orders to go. They had K-Pop playing on the TV screen while you wait! This was my first time at a Von's chicken, although I love Korean chicken! I went with the chicken plate for $11.99, which comes with 4 bone-in chicken wings (I chose the shoyu flavor based on the reviews), rice, corn, 2 pieces of mandoo and kimchi. The chicken was crunchy and flavorful. It was also very juicy! It had a nice sweetness to it. I'd definitely return to try some of their other flavors! The corn tasted like it came out of a can, but the mandoo was crunchy and the kimchi was amazing!Right now they're offering free fries if you check in on Yelp. They're string fries and nothing to write home about, but hey, they're free!Definitely check them out if you're in the Hawaii Kai area. They also have several other locations on the island."

Rod U. "If you were a fan of Dong Yang's meat jun, this is for you. The former owner of Dong Yang has relocated and opened a new spot with what many claimed was the best meat jun on the Island.I beg to differ but...Thicker than most, with a very simple rub with soy sauce (not marinated in a sweet soy concoction) then coated in a salted egg batter before being deep fried. Like most take out spots, the batter does slide off the meat and is a bit oily. The sauce, simple soy and vinegar.Like with the original Dong Yang, other dishes are lack luster because of the lack of sweetness and extreme saltiness. The BBQ chicken, very heavily marinated in soy sauce. Grilling a plus but the sodium is so high. The spicy pork, thicker than most, simply marinated then grilled. Again, little sweetness. Extremely salty. No complaints on the simple fresh kim chee, pickled cucumbers, salted bean sprouts and salted cabbage.Inexpensive if you consider the price to quantity ratio. These are HEAVY plates. Regular plates average $17, combos $22 to $26 (for kalbi).OK but not worth going out of your way for unless you're craving the old Dong Yang meat jun."

Michael K. "New-ish Japanese restaurant in Aiea and also currently my favorite casual dining place in the "pearl" region.  This place is located upstairs in Westridge, which is not typically a strip mall that I visit.  Food here is good and the portions are generous. For the food, I often get takeout, but dining in for a combo plate got me a tray-style Japanese dish with furikake chicken and char siu with egg.  Both were tasty and the portions were big.  If I weren't a large eater myself, I could have easily shared the combo plate with a companion.  Service was excellent, but if you are someone who is easily offended by a few typos on the menu, avoid this place. For takeout, my go-to items are the garlic salmon (which has a lot of garlic and other seasoning, if you are not a fan of garlic, stay away from this item), the chicken katsu curry (the curry had a lot of chicken in it which was a pleasant surprise), and the chicken oyako don (tasty and again, very generous portion).  This place is a nice addition to the restaurants in Aiea, especially if you are trying to avoid the mall rush and crowd."
