"THE BEST CATERING SERVICE OUT THERE! I was referred to Guieb's Catering by my best friend's family. I inquired with them back in November and got a quick response to check out their menu online. They have a variety of food menus for us to choose from. We decided to choose the Dinner Buffet menu. We met with Ernesto & Maria, who are the owners of this local business to go over details before we submitted deposit and signed the contract. They are so accommodating with changes and are flexible with any menu options you may want. So if you have any specific dishes you may want, you can inquire and I'm sure they'll be willing to work with you. I was in contact with mostly Maria who handled all the business side of their company while Ernesto was the main chef. Maria was able to help me decide with a lot of my many questions and concerns about our catering event. And even accommodate last minute requests such as adding more pupus, lechons, and a dessert spread. Through email or text, she was quick to respond to all my needs. The day of my daughter's party, they exceeded every expectation I had. Guieb's Catering went all out and above to decorate to match my daughter's pink and gold royal theme. Seriously haven't seen any catering company let alone any food setup as beautiful as they have done. In my opinion even better than the hotel set ups I've been to. They had the pupus on a separate table and the long table spread of starters, starches, main entrees, desserts and the lechon. Although I didn't get a chance to eat or even see the food spread (aside from everyone posting pics of it), I've been getting compliments about how good the food was and the beautiful set up. Their team of workers who were even family members worked so hard to make sure the food trays were never left empty and made sure things turned out perfect. They knew what they were doing and did everything without having to ask us anything. They also provided the utensils and take out plates for left overs. Which I'm surprised we even still had considering that I ordered for expected 300 people but it seemed like more than expected showed up because they failed to rsvp. But thankfully, Guieb's catering is an expert to this food business and made enough to feed everyone. I'm all for supporting local business and this is one company that I would definitely recommend to take care of all your catering needs. Prices are very reasonable and will work with you to your budget as well. Will definitely be back for future event services!"
"I wish I could give this place the 5 stars it deserves. The food is so consistent, and the reason I continue to come back."
"5 stars for possibly the best take-out prime rib I've ever had! Read below for a breakdown of the review by food/drink, service and ambiance.Food: Prime Rib - At only $15, this is most definitely worth it! Plate comes with a huge slab of prime rib on top of your choice of rice or garlic mashed potatoes (I went with the mashed) and a side of corn. The outer edge of seasoning on the prime rib was crispy and savory. The cook on the meat was a beautiful red medium rare, very juicy but not mooing. The garlic mashed was well-seasoned and a little chunkier, which I love. And I believe the corn had butter in it so of course that was amazing. The au jus had a great flavor to it and the cream horse radish was perfectly balanced - enough spice to make the nose run just a little, with the soothing effect of the sour cream to follow.Service: The owner Zach was very friendly. I went in with a friend of mine who knows him and who had placed our order in advance (do that or you might not get any). Our plates were pretty much ready when we arrived; we just needed to select our starch. As my friend and Zach were talking, you could tell he was a nice, down to earth kind of guy.Ambiance: It's a pretty small place that is clearly intended to be a grab-n-go destination. It's so small that it can be easy to miss. When you enter 1100 Alakea through the double glass doors (next to T-Mobile) and you see the escalators, Howard's is on the left. Look for the white board with today's menu.Final words: Especially during this difficult time when the world is dealing with COVID-19, it's so important to support our small local businesses. Luckily, the food and service here created such a great experience that it makes it very easy to support and promote this business. I recommend!Shameless plug: Like my reviews? Feel free to also check out more foodie pics and other things I'm into by following me on IG: @kim_n_theworld :) LOVE my reviews? Prove it by voting. *wink* Thanks for reading!"
"First time getting a private chef and I would do it all over again.DeVante made sure to keep in contact before the day and the day of. Showed up on time and did a phenomenal job. The food was was 5 out 5, everything on that plate was well worth it."
"Expect the unexpected . This resturant is so overlooked and it's insane how delicious everything was ! We started with the braised beef and it was so tender and flavorful it was paired with beans homemade chips and corn rice which was great on its own . The service and servers were 10/10 great personalities and so happy. We were also lucky enough to taste their pumpkin horchata and they did not miss the assignment it was probably the best horchata I ever had ! The music is subtle and not overwhelming and they actually fit a great amount of people inside but they provide outside seating as well . The chef was hospitable and they were pushing plates out with no hesitation . We got they have an amazing cactus sorbet which is such a great way to finish a meal . I will officially be back as I found my new Wahiawa taco spot !"
"My cousin: "Let's have a sushi guy at out event!"Me: "Where in the world do I find a sushi guy?..."[Insert Yelp]*Finds Yatai Sushi*Thank goodness for Yelp! I could find Yatai Sushi! For the past two years we had Yatai Sushi cater our event. Having an actual sushi chef at your party makes your party even cooler and unique. It was easy coordinating the with Todd, the Owner. He responded super fast to my inquiries. We had two different sushi chefs each time but both were really friendly and cool. They were on time and came prepared. You just need to provide them a space and maybe access to a sink. I love how I didn't need to worry about them. The minimum amount for a party is 40 people~They'll stay for 2 hours or until they run out. In regard to the sushi, they quality of fish is great. They make: hamachi, ebi, salmon, maguro nigiris to name a couple. Then they also make California and spicy ahi(?) handrolls. If you're having a pupu event, the sushi plus a couple sides is enough~If you want your party to stand out, cater with Yatai Sushi!"
"Heard wonderful things from friends so wanted to give them a try. Truly delicious fare! I had a chocolate chip cookie that was the best I had ever had - not like "good for a vegan cookie" but just legit tasty. I ordered their kebabs meal - amazing! - and the chocolate babka - sooo well baked and generous portions! I'm excited to keep ordering from you"
"This place popped up on my Yelp when I was looking at other places to eat. I'm so glad to have found this place! The last time I had Indonesian food was in SoCal a year ago. I don't know anywhere in Hawaii where they serve authentic Indonesian food as there aren't many Indonesians around. We tried her nasi goreng, chicken satay with peanut sauce, fried drumsticks, and an Indonesian chicken soup noodle. The nasi goreng had a lot of flavor and I liked the chili sauce. The chicken satay was very well marinated and tender, and a peanut sauce was addictive! I will have to ask for extra next time lol. The fried drumsticks didn't disappoint as well - flavorful and tender, although I wish there were more than two pieces, and the coconut rice definitely tasted better than just regular rice - even more southeast Asian flavor!Loliana is a professional chef and she cooks from her home. To order, it's pretty easy, just text her and place an order! The cutoff time is generally 2 hours before pickup time, but I guess it also depends on how busy she is. The pick up location is near Punahou school in Honolulu. She herself is a very friendly, personable, and down to earth person. We chit chatted a bit and it was nice meeting and talking to her. She also offers cooking classes as well if that's what you are interested in. she can also makes adjustment according to your diet, such as vegetarian, vegan, or with certain diet restrictions. She also mentioned something about a yoga retreat as she is involved and experienced in resort event planning in Bali. How cool is that!We can't wait to try her other items on the menu! Thank you for sharing your cooking with us in Hawaii!"
"Breakfast in Liliha, Honolulu, Hawaii...When I used my Yelp app to search for a nearby restaurant, "Lanakila Kitchen" appeared. I used to volunteer with Lanakila Meals On Wheels - delivering hot meals to Senior Citizens on Thanksgiving Day with the Jaycees... it seems like the same kitchen sells meals to the community and provides a complimentary lunch from Monday through Friday to Kupuna! Wow!Located on Bachelot Street, the entrance is a bit challenging to find. I asked some construction crew members about the kitchen, and they pointed me in the correct direction... at the beginning of the property. Look for the tables outside!I ordered a Breakfast Plate (comes with a beverage - I selected a small Starbucks coffee and forgot to take a photo) at the counter - it's just $6.65, including tax! I got 2 scoops of brown ice, 4 slices of bacon, and 2 over-easy eggs! What a deal! When I saw the staff bringing out boxes fresh scones, I had to get one! For only $2.25 (tax included), I received two delicious Lilikoi/Peach scones! They were moist and soft!I told the staff that I would bring my mom back for the free lunch (today's special was Curry chicken). The cashier said that he would make an exception for today (since it was my first visit) and gave me a Chicken Curry to take to my mom! Thank you! She enjoyed it!We will be back!Note: this is mainly a takeout place."
"My cousin's has gotten food catering for 2 different parties from JEM's Star Catering and i must say they do have some GOOD ONO KINE GRINDS (Good food). Another thing they'll do besides bringing in their Ono (NagiMAS) Food is that they'll do a NICE table set up and presentation layout for the buffet line and dessert line which I think is pretty good, they have nice table covers and table skirts for the tables. The workers for JEM's STAR Catering are food peoples. Specially the ones we had for our party on *7/6/19 Saturday in Waipio. Food / Man lots of food choices to choose from and they also other items so for our party we had *Potato *Rice topped with furikake *Bihon Filipino nooodles *Swai steamed fish *Baked boneless chicken *Cut Up steak *Beef broccoli with other mixed veggies *prime rib carving station *Haupia *cup up fruit platter Their prime rib was so soft and good also cut up nice size portion. Another item I like eating was their baked boneless chicken"
"Great little shop, been around forever, hard to know about from street, tucked away cheap espresso great sandwiches and salad.Friendly folks, can't miss if you want a reliable, non-corporate sandwich."

Taylor P. and Chef John absolutely crushed it for us. We'd worth with them a thousand times again!!! Just like I said in my welcome speech - Memoirs delivered on amazing Michelin level food and kept the drinks flowing at the bar all night long!!! So many friends and family told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. WOW! Thank you Memoris team, Taylor and Chef John - you have our eternal gratitude for helping make #thelieuau as magical as it was!!!

The last thing I wanted to stress about was the catering for my son's 1st birthday party and Guieb's catering made everything stress free.Maria was so easy to work with in setting up our menu which was reasonably priced and the staff arrived early to the event. We had the Filipino buffet with some local dishes, pupus, and we also ordered lechon and lumpia (banana, ube, pork, vegetable, yes we love lumpia) and cascaron thru their third party vendors. The ahi poke was so good. I also enjoyed their fried chicken and crispy lechon. My guests kept raving about how good the lumpia was.I loved how they set up the buffet. They had flower arrangements and fancy linen on the table that made you feel like you were in a hotel or a restaurant. They even gave us the flowers to take home afterwards. They also cut and served the lechon which is a huge job in itself. They gave us lunch plates to make the traditional baon or take home plate afterwards, and covers for the large serving trays so we could take that home too.The only 2 things that I would suggest is maybe a water/juice/iced tea station (we had to bring our own drinks) and more lechon sauce. Other than that, this is the place for your catering needs!

I've gotten takeout from here for years and they are my go to k- bbq place in Ewa. I haven't had a bad experience yet. There could be a long wait during dinner time bc they are busy, but it's still worth it. We love all their sides bc it's always very fresh and they give generous portions. Two combo plates feeds a family of 4 with leftovers. Prices have increased, but they do give a lot of food so we still feel like it's worth it.

Attended a wedding on Wednesday night and Zach's Event Catering was fantastic! Sam the bartender was very nice, friendly and personable. I'm not a drinker but he had these pretty soft jelly beans like candies for me to try which were very nice! Duane managed the sushi bar with fresh nigiri with fresh ahi, salmon, shrimp, etc He also made huge California hand rolls! I loved the delicious appetizers: huge stuffed mushrooms, nice big round crab cakes and stuffed shrimp.

I'm so glad we came. Absolutely onolicious. I learned about Barrio Cafe a few nights ago during one of their pop up events where we tried off menu items. And it was so good that I had to come back to try their regular menu. The restaurant is only open from 7 am to 3 pm Mondays - Saturdays. This is a sister location to the original el Palenque on Kam Hwy, also in Wahiawa. So Saturdays are the only days I can come for brunch. At first glance, everything on the menu looks so good so it took a little time to decide. However, ordering the Horchata Iced Coffee didn't take long as I was told by an acquaintance that it's one of her favorite things from Barrio Cafe. And it certainly did not disappoint. I was feeling tired already for a Saturday afternoon but this helped me to perk up and last through shopping the rest of the day. I finally decided on the Chorizo fried rice with two eggs over easy. And I was pleasantly surprised by its simple yet elegant plating on an aluminum serving tray and in a simple aluminum round take out bowl. And I know it makes no sense but it was really pretty, but I'm still gonna eat it. It's like they know you're not gonna finish it and let me help you with preparing it for easy take home consumption. So smart! I've been to Mexico twice and i can understand the difference between authentic Mexican food and commercial US flavor. The flavor reminded me that I had lunch in Rosarita MX once. I completely forgot about that until I started chowing down. After my sister was undecided between shrimp tacos, fish tacos and their variety burrito, our hostess recommended the fish tacos and said, next time you can get the burrito. She knew how good their food is and that we'd be back. Iso my sister decided in the fish tacos. I did take a bite of a taco and it really was tasty. The refried beans, definitely not canned, and the rice made with lime and cilantro, were excellent. Like the pop up event a few nights earlier and this experience, it's all the same, just a lovely time. My sister was involved with looking at everything. She felt everything was as authentic as can be. We look forward to visiting in the future and bringing family along to enjoy this well known neighborhood gem in Wahiawa.

I was lucky enough to get thrown a surprise birthday party this past weekend and my husband is so thoughtful and awesome that he hired Yatai Sushi to cater the event. It was amazing! Our sushi chef was great and a trooper because it was an outdoor party and the day was super hot! But he was very funny, explained what all his ingredients were, and just an all around stand up guy! The fish and shrimp was super fresh, I especially loved the ahi and salmon, two of my favorites, put together with just a touch of wasabi, crab meat and ikura. Everybody also enjoyed the spicy poke. My family are big sushi, nigiri eaters so they couldn't get enough of it. His setup was great, it reminded me of almost being at a restaurant and it was like the sushi was endless! What was even more cool was that he ended up giving us all the leftovers, but he prepared chirashi bowls with the extras, and I absolutely LOVE these little bowls of fishy goodness! My husband earned major points with having this vendor, and we can't wait to hire Yatai to join us at another special occasion. Who knows, we may not even need a reason to hire them!

"They give a good portion of food to be honest and prices are fairly reasonable. I think the best thing in my opinion is they open early at 9am.I had the veggie sandwich for lunch it was tasty. My friend had tofu pad thai I enjoyed the sample I got you could really taste the peanuts and fish sauce. We also got summer rolls which tasted ok I'm a sucker for peanut sauce and theirs isn't bad but it is a little runnier then I'm used to.The shop itself is nice it has a bunch of tables and nice thai decor. I also appreciate that this ba-le is multicultural with Vietnamese and also Thai food."
"Heard about this sandwich spot on Instagram. We came here to give it a try. Asked the restaurant manager for some recommendations. I decided on the Wagyu Cheesesteak and recommended by the manager side au jus. The sandwich was good with the au jus. It added to the flavor. The au jus was a little salty. Also, a side of fries. The fries were good. The restaurant had a cool vibe. We were able to get a table easily."
"Summer nostalgiaMy favorite is the classic rainbow, which comes with red strawberry, blue vanilla and yellow banana. Combined these flavors showcase the colors of the rainbow, hence the name. And you absolutely must get your shave ice with condensed milk. If your shave ice doesn't look like a fresh blanket of snow on top a colorful mountain, you are doing it wrong. The ice is soft. They offer a ton of flavors and toppings. Most importantly, the ratio between shave ice and syrup has to be proportionate. Otherwise, you'll end up with mostly melted shave ice or a pile of ice at the end. Shaka Shave Ice has the perfect ratio. You can find a list of the flavors on their Instagram. The flavors aren't too sweet, so you can enjoy more.Keeping this one in my back pocket for my next event. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what to try next!"
"Tiffany's cupcakes are amazing! So moist, and full of flavor and you don't feel guilty after eating them too.I was able to sample her valentines special which was strawberry something with a chocolate Mouse filling. I only ordered half dozen, but wish I ordered 6 dozen, its that good!If you are able to try her creations, you will be hooked, and this is coming from me, I have tasted MANY cupcakes and Tiffany's cupcakes comes out at the top."
"My job had catered one of our lunches from here. The food was decent. I heard it was a good price per person. The best thing on the plate was the shoyu pork. It was tender, full of flavor and just melted in my mouth. The namasu was also very good. It had the perfect balance between sweet and sour. Everything else on the plate was meh. The fried chicken was soggy and hard. The noodles lacked flavor. The andagi was dense and oily."
"I keep telling myself that I need to write a review of one of my favorite places and in time, my photos I've posted awhile ago may not be tied into my review. This is like a hidden gem unless you know about Jo Jo's Kitchen through others who worked near by.Since My place of work is now farther away from downtown, i would drive than walk here, but may not go as often as I would like. Parking in downtown is higher with the rate of twenty-five cent per 5 minutes!! I would suggest to pre-order, so your order will be ready when you pick up or have someone be your food runner. A couple of times my friend had it delivered (not offered at this time), but most of the times she would pick up for me and I would pick up my order from her work place.I wasn't much of a steak sandwich person before until I tried her truffle steak sandwich! Amazing! My work friend would tell me the weekly specials and when she offer to pick up lunch from here, I'm all in. The sandwich's bread sometimes can be on ciabatta bread or a hoagie with grilled onions, truffle oil, shaved cheese, garlic aioli, mushrooms! The pastrami sandwich was also full of pastrami and everything I've tried from the menu or the specials were amazing! So much flavor and ingredients to make the sandwich incredible! You can tell she loves cooking and it show In her foods! Her food has been excellent, since it's just her, the chef, cooking with her helper in front! I've tried some of the seasonal menu items like the baby back ribs with collard greens with bacon and jalapeño corn bread! The Turkey meal too was so worth it. Others I tried was the chicken picatta, Korean bbq beef wrap, & steak salad & one of my favorite beef stew!! Yum!Jo Jo's Kitchen is only opened during the weekday lunch hours and also do catering. Always double check the days and hours opened since at this current time, it is close on Tuesdays! I would highly recommend this place and my friends would agree with me.Thanks for reading my review! =)"
"Such a cute little coffee truck with the sweetest people! And they pop up all over the place. Go follow them on IG to see where you can find them! They always have amazing customer service and coffee and awesome recommendations--I always try something new! Praying they add some more treats to the menu . Can't wait to visit them again soon."
"I've met the owners and know they offer the best & freshest products you can get in Hawaii. Their staff is 100 % professional & so personable. No one else offers such a great & unique service! I heartily recommend you give them a call for your next pay or event."
"Where do I even begin, the food, the level of service, Bianca, everything about Tailor Made Custom Catering (TMCC) is amazing! Her creative and adorable customizable menu is an excellent choice for any foodie or picky eater. The fact that she'll work with you to create a custom menu for really any occasion is a dreeeeam. I've had the pleasure of enjoying her delicious food and desserts on several occasions now and I can't recommend TMCC enough. The latest experience was at a friends small celebration get together. The menu was a grab and go, cocktail, appetizer, situation, and everything we ate was sooo good. So professionally set up, and CUTE! Little bite sized grilled cheese served with a tomato soup in the cutest little mason jars (insert heart eye emoji). They were perfect for dipping and eating while socializing with friends. Also included in the lineup were the charcuterie grazing cones and two styles of bao buns, a fried chicken with lilikoi bbq sauce, some cabbage, and pickles, and a pork belly with Asian slaw, and pickled onions, OMG SOOOO GOOD. The fried chicken bao was the highlight of the night for me and my husband who wished he could have eaten them all himself. I arrived to the party a little early and Bianca was there finishing set up. Fully masked and gloved with covid safety in mind, she's conscious of the space she's in and keeps health and safety at the forefront. I totally appreciated her level of care and love you could tell goes into her cooking and set up. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend TMCC and their excellent services. I'm kicking myself now cause I was starving and didn't take time to take photos of how cute everything was, but check out her website and Instagram for examples of her top notch work!"
"Stumbled upon Jeramiahs during the International Market Place Night Market in end April'22.Jeramiahs had a food truck at the venue closest to the water and next to the beer garden. There wasn't a line to order food, but it did take a bit for the food to come out, maybe 15 min or so. We ordered the fiesta plate with bbq chicken, bbq ribs, chicken kelaguen, red rice and toss salad.Food came out less warm than I expected (because our food was sitting for awhile before staff handed it to us). Nonetheless! The flavors were delicious! Everything was really good. I wanted to try the steak too, but didn't have enough stomach room to try it out. Wherever Jeramiahs pops up...be sure to give it a try!Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!"
"Prime Roast Cafe - A Hidden Gem in Downtown HonoluluJust when I thought I was running out of sit-down meal options in downtown Honolulu, Prime Roast Cafe came into my life--and what an introduction it was! Tucked away at 212 Merchant Street, this cafe may seem casual at first glance, but don't be fooled. The warmth and hospitality Celeste and her husband, Ernesto (the chef), extend make you feel as though you've stepped into their home. Their graciousness and pride in serving every dish truly stand out, making the experience more than just a meal--it's like having your own personal chef. One of the first things that struck me is how versatile their menu is. Serving all three meals daily, you can enjoy anything from a breakfast bento of the day, candied rosemary bacon with garlic fried rice and eggs, to a prime rib loco moco. For lunch, my friend opted for the Sterling Silver Prime Rib Panini--melt-in-your-mouth tender, with arugula and Swiss cheese. After trying a bite, I knew their prime rib was the star of the show. I, however, indulged in the fresh Atlantic salmon with a miso caper cream sauce, served with saffron lemon rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables. The salmon was perfection, with every bite melting in my mouth, and the vegetables were seasoned with such care that the flavor lingered long after I'd finished.Speaking of prime rib, they offer a dazzling array of options, from a 10 oz portion to a show-stopping 16 oz Sterling Silver Prime Rib of Beef, complete with port wine bone marrow au jus and creamy horseradish. With sides like garlic mashed potatoes and perfectly seasoned vegetables, you won't leave disappointed. And then there's dessert. Oh, the dessert! Their French-style Apple Tarte Tatin is something to be savored, caramelized in butter and sugar to perfection. I would happily return just for that sweet delight. Prime Roast Cafe feels like a well-kept secret. Though parking downtown is scarce (understandable for the Central Business District), it's a spot well worth the journey for workers, residents, and any lucky visitor. The impeccable service, food, and overall experience make it feel like you're enjoying five-star dining without the sky-high prices. Celeste even capped off our meal by treating us to some delicious crème brûlée tarts and sugared orange peel, a lovely touch of gratitude that made the meal feel even more personal.Prime Roast Cafe is now a must-visit spot for me, whether for breakfast, lunch, or their exclusive Friday-Saturday dinner service (which I plan on booking soon). Truly a gem in Honolulu's heart, I cannot wait to return!"
"Cheeeehoooo!!! Luis Silva & his team are ROCKING!! Not only is the food high quality, fresh & satisfies any palette, he & his crew are so organized & professional! Coordinating any event can be chaos (trust me; I've done my fair share!) & there's nothing like knowing the crew you hire is ADAPTABLE to the "unexpected:" like special dietary requirements or an additional 50 event crashers Luis & his team hosted a huge private event & provided bar service, appetizers, hosts & servers, plus a full buffet spread (from scratch taco & enchilada set up). Loved the chimichurri kebabs & the green salsa was on point! Absolutely: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SILVA EVENTS for your event coordination, private chef & other special needs, especially on the North Shore of O'ahu. These guys will take fantastic care of you; it's the owner's top priority. Keep on rocking that Aloha spirit guys! Sorry; I ate all the food before I could take pictures"
"Island Fusion catered our wedding reception, and everything was absolutely amazing. Jonas worked with myself and our wedding planner to design a delicious customized menu. On the big day, everything was spectacular - my family was raving about the food. And the price was incredibly reasonable to boot.We loved everything he served, but my parents are still talking about the roasted grape tomato bruschetta and the lemongrass crusted scallops!"
"I couldn't say enough good about my experience with this caterer! I got info from 10 caterers & bids from 5 & chose them because I liked their proposal, loved their Instagram photos & style & in the end had the best 'vibe' from them. I may have paid slightly more than planned but so worth it for attention to detail. I was putting on a female service members 2 day Spiritual Resiliency Retreat & wanted a spa like Hawaiian feel with delicious healthy food & that's exactly what I got! They provided some gluten free items upon request also. I got so many compliments on the food! We were served a full brunch with beverage stations (worth paying extra for on sight staff.) We also had a light lunch & breakfast day 2. Favorite items were crustless quiches, poke, fresh swordfish & tea sandwiches. Service was impeccable. I had just had surgery and needed great service due to this & felt pampered by this catering company. lol Thank you Sakara & staff for serving our bodies & hearts"
"Large multi venue location? Check.Super family friendly? Check.Awesome catering staff? Check.Amazing food? Check. When it comes to finding venues for a first birthday party, I had no idea the lengths people go to snag the venue ahead of time. Some people I know reserve the venue for the first birthday even before the child is born!Imagine my surprise when it was only 4 months til my baby becomes a wild one years old and only just started to look for venues. The perfect storm of graduation season fell upon us and it made it even harder. One night, I was just looking for catering reviews to see if someone had a new idea of a venue and I stumbled on the Honolulu Zoo.Not only do the zoo can be the venue of your party, they can cater and have multiple locations for your party!Fast forward to the party date, we got the luau menu and the food was amazingly delicious! Everyone complimented about the food. They even brought out a keiki activity table and petting zoo animals.Communication with staff was awesome and Eddii was always there for us keeping us cool when things got hectic.I highly recommend Taste and the Honolulu Zoo for your next keiki birthday party!"
"Nestled in Manoa, you'll find a little Mexican food gem called Serg's. We arrived just before the lunch crowd so there were plenty of parking and plenty of seating. However, you can imagine that it can pretty crowded pretty quick. You order at the window and pick up your food when it's ready. The lady at the window was very friendly and the food came out quickly. I ordered the taco salad and it was delicious. The eating area was open allowing the breeze to blow through. There was Mexican music playing over the speakers adding to the experience. Highly recommended!!!"

"8-6-2020 Since the beginning of the pandemic, we've been pretty cautious about take out. My friend shared they picked up food from here so... this was Our first experience with this food truck parked on the left of Petco by the Malasada wagon at the Waikele Premium Outlets.Checked out the Yelp photos first before ordering. My mixed plate choices were Kalua pig and beef stew. Gotta say it's the best take out beef stew I've tasted. The sauce is good, not sweet, and very tasty. Each beef piece was cooked perfectly. Soft, tender without falling apart stringy- ness. The next time I may order only the beef stew and rice. Why? The macaroni salad had heavy handed mayo, one taste and that was it for me. The Kalua pig looked good and generous but had a slight after taste to me. The stew and rice were excellent, even the one piece of carrot and one piece of potato were yummy, not hard or mushy, just right.Hubs said he'll never order the spareribs again because it was not sweet sour, it was sour. And this is coming from a guy who loves spareribs and pork n general. My dad's nickname was Stew. I'm sure if he could taste this he'd love it too."
"First time doing a really big order for a first birthday and I was very pleased with the how everything turned out. There were some times when I wasn't sure about something because there really wasn't a paper agreement with all the information on it, but it all worked out. I put my full trust and I was very happy with how it all worked out. All my guests complicated how good the food was. We got the baby's 1st birthday. We paid extra for their attendant fee and it was worth it. They set up and broke down after 2hrs. They were so nice and very helpful. I didn't have to stress about the food at all. Even when the strong winds were blowing down the food covers. We found a way to keep it secured. After the next day we just returned the leftover silver pans that kept the food in and that was it. Super simple. I'd definitely order here again for my next event."
"I work as a bartender for events and weddings, so that being said I eat A LOT of banquet food! OMG am I ever so happy when I arrive to work and see that Carol and Mel are the ones providing the food!!!!!!! It is always fresh and prepared on the spot, with the presentation being beautiful too! I cannot recommend them enough."
"for my special occation we were supposed to get filet and ribeye steak but they mistakenly served spam and mac & cheese,,,, ruined the WHOLE EVENT"
"I'm on the board of directors at a large Kakaako condo. Our resident manager hired this company to provide snacks for the annual meeting. Very cool concept. They made attractive handheld charcuteries for attendees. BIG step up from last year where the only snacks were chips from Costco and snickers bars. This is what happens when you have a female General Manager as opposed to a male who puts zero effort into things. You can find them on the web at: youandaihnl.com"
"Mark Kitchen & Catering use to be located in Kalihi Valley years ago. The owner Aunty Teresa Silao is my mom's cousin. We used to always order desserts from them especially Dudol. (Filipino purple version of Haupia). This January 13 & 14, we catered from them for my Dad's Wake Service dinner and lunch after his burial. We ordered for 300 people for dinner & 200 for lunch. The food was fantastic! It is what you would expect from your Filipino Grandma/Mom's kitchen. It was very flavorful and a hit to our guests. Filipino Salad - Pako aka Warabi Salad with tomato & fish sauce Pork Guisantes - Richie flavor, nice cut of pork with a a good mix of fat and meat. Not dry at all! Pork Igado - Same as guisantes but pork liver. I don't usually eat this, but it was flavorful and moist. Shrimp Tempura - BIG! Bigger than my thumb! flavorful. Nicely Fried in batter. Not burnt. Flavorful.Filipino Bamboo Salad - aka Rabong. This is not your typical canned bamboo shoots! It was nice small thin slivers mixed well in black pepper, fish sauce and garlic. Ever I ever had from a caterer.Pancit - lots of flavor! Not bland at all! Fried Bangus (Milk Fish) - Was a hit! Nicely deep fried, flavorful! Marinated in vinegar and salt.Pumkin Squash w/ Pork & String Bean - Sooo good! Fried Pork Belly- Marinated in Garlic, Vinegar. OMG! Bomb! Morcon/Embutido (filipino meat loaf)- I don't usually like this cause it got raisins but Aunty Teresa's one tasted good! There wasn't too much raisins so it wasn't over powering. Not dry at all! Very moist.Beef Steak - filipino version with onions. Just like how my mom makes it! Not salty, very flavorful. Moist tender meat, not tough! Tupig - Mochi flour with sesame seeds, young coconut slivers wrapped in banana leaves roasted on an open fire. SOOOO good! Nostalgic feeling from when I was a kid. Not too sweet, soft and roasty aroma. Do not take the 5% funeral discount. If you decide to take it, you'll need to provide yourself with your own serving utensils, forks, napkins and plates. Aunty Teresa will deliver and set up your order. She will also stay to monitor and refill pans. Price is very decent and more affordable than other places! Menu for 300 people came out to around $8+ per head, out 200 lunch came out to $9+ per head since we had more selections. We will definitely order from her again! Even if it's for house parties or bbq's!"
