"5/5 Stars! Great quality and fast service. I've been on the hunt for a good Banh Mi place and found one!! Sandwiches are made to order and inside seating is available! The mix of vegetables and meat was perfectly balanced!"
"Gina's was always a go to when we had work luncheons so when we needed to cater food we decided to order from their catering menu. Ordering for a large party was really easy. Originally when I called to inquire they said to let them know at least a day or two in advance. Tip: double check the pricing as the online menu has not been updated. You can select from their different set menus that consists of different types of proteins, rice, banchans, bibim kooksoo, and more. We ordered Set B which came with meat jun, bbq beef, kalbi, chicken wings, bbq chicken, egg rolls, bibim kooksoo, banchans, and rice. The portions were HUGE that for a party of 20 everyone could take leftovers. They definitely don't skimp on their portions. I was shocked especially how generous they were with the protein. Everyone was satisfied and happy. Overall the food was great. We definitely will order again for catering!"

"Remembered this spot the last visit to the islands so we decided to check it out again. It's on the side, almost back, of the parking lot so be careful not to miss it (just follow the BBQ smoke). We got there around 4pm, not a huge line, CASH ONLY.What we swallowed:*KALBI PLATE: Two big scoops of rice, salad and huge, delicious kalbi. This hit the spot after a long flight from the middle of the mainland. Two bench tables to eat at, it's outside so super hot and bugs can be a bother. They are a bit scrimpy with the utensils and napkins."
"Theres all kinds of Hawaiian Bbq everywhere here on Oahu BUT then theres Bob's!,, Corner of Dillingham and Waiakamilo in Kalihi. The looks of it are definitely deceiving because it's a simple snack of a thing, run down looking actually :( but the food is so good everything on the menu frm burgers to prime rib and of course Hawaiian grinds./ So much Aloha start to finish 5stars- thank you to the uncles and aunties that work here day in day out. The food speaks volumes! So much construction happening all around it. Signs of the times updating to the modern style building directly across the street. it's not a tourist spot at all. although it could be if you're willing to come out of the comfort zone of Waikiki. lol-"
"This is my go to plate lunch place if I'm in the area or craving it so bad I'm willing to drive from home to pick it up! I always call ahead since they do cook to order and it's about 15-20 mins for food to be ready. Our go-to's are the garlic shrimp, bbq ribs and the Pulehu short ribs. I really enjoy the garlic shrimp. It's got a lot of garlic, the shrimp are nice and plump and cooked just right! The bbq ribs are my mom's go to and I find them a little sweet due to the sauce but she loves them. The pulehu short ribs are my fave and these are not KBBQ. They are not meant to be marinated but instead are a smoky/salty, beefy meat. I love them and you can't find this style at too many places anymore. The Mac salad being made with spaghetti noodles is a fave! It's so tasty, seasoned with just the right amount of mayo and pepper. IYKYK. The prices have gone up quite a bit in the last couple of years, but for the amount of food you get (I get 2-3 meals out of one plate) and quality, I still think it's worth it! Take out only, small parking lot. Best if you're able to call ahead and have someone run in while the driver waits in the car."
"Used to love this place... maybe it's the location. Got a mix plate and the amount of meat in the box was kind of shocking and not in a good way. There were only 5 pieces of pork and maybe 7 pieces of chicken. Very overpriced. Pork was still good but 2 of the pieces were burnt not just a little but the kind that's inedible. The entire box was filled with rice that came out of a cooler and it was hard. Won't be coming back again. I'll try the original location next time again."
"Topped Waikiki is a super fun place in Waikiki for grubbin' on some seriously loaded dishes. Their signature Korean bibimbap and fries are stacked high with tasty toppings that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. If you're lookin' for some next-level comfort food, this spot's got you covered. Go check it out for a good time and some epic eats! Parking can be a pain but solid location central to all the cool bars in Waikiki."
"Food is always great here!Ordered dinner for our family Combo plates with meat Jun, bbq beef, shrimp tempura, bbq chicken. All items were delish and the sides are also super yummy! we will always go back and the service is just right! Try them out if you are in the area!!"
"Our first meal in Honolulu. If you didn't know this place was there you'd drive right past it! Great value for delicious food. The normal sized plates are more than a meal. We both have leftovers for tomorrow :)We got the build your own 2 item combo with kalua pork and mochiko chicken, the bbq mixed combo, beef stew mini, and bbq chicken mini. Not pictured are the spam musubi. Everything was great. Only critique is that the ratio of rice to spam was too much, like 4:1. If they cut the rice in half, it'd been perfect."
"I came out of Yelp retirement because I'm so irritated by my recent experience.I've patronized this restaurant several times years ago and it easily could get 5 stars. We returned recently and it was pretty awful in terms of service and being empty on a weekend evening was telling. We arrived a little before their happy hour ended and the waitress said she would honor their early bird prices so we ordered our first round. Upon receiving our bill, we were charged full price so we went up to ask and the waitresses said the lady in charge (kitchen) said because we ordered after their happy hour we had to be charged the full price?! Never was that disclosed on the menu not in person because we would've ordered everything the first time! It felt very shady.Food was fresh and good but the service was lacking even beyond that bill incident."
"Honolulu Restaurant Week Dinner...We hit a jackpot!I originally wanted to dine at Khan Skewer Restaurant because my Yelp friend, Andy, checks in at this establishment so much that he is The Duke! It must be good, right? Our group of nine decided to celebrate "Friendsgiving" and agreed to try Khan Skewer Restaurant. The day we selected happened to occur during Honolulu Restaurant Week, so we got a DEAL!!!For 2 to 3 people, the set menu was:Edamame with Garlic Mushroom Medley 3 Skewers each of Pork Belly, Wagyu Beef, Maui Venison, and LambEggplantDeep fried Chicken Tenders Scallop with vermicelli Snow Fluffy Milk Ice - we chose peach flavor Each set came with 2 bowls of white rice... which was more than enough! Note: There were two condiments: red chili powder mix and a pineapple hot sauce... i gave mine away! The gals sat together and ordered "no spicy".We were stuffed!Everything tasted great and had wonderful presentation! The place was clean; the service was attentive;the restroom was convenient; and the parking was FREE!They were so nice to allow us to place our cake in their refrigerator, bring it out on a platter with a candle, and play a Happy Birthday song on the PA system! We had a wonderful time with fond memories! Thank you!"
"Annyeonghaseyo! We came over to Moiliili on a weeknight during dinner time to run an errand. The hubby was craving Korean BBQ so I suggested Mama Woo's, which was nearby and we'd passed by on so many occasions. Since we had some time, we decided it was a good chance to try them out!Usually the parking lot is packed and parking is scarce, but tonight we were lucky! There was a gentleman ahead of us waiting for his take out order, so we took a moment to study their banchan and menu. The cashier (Matthew) answered our question about the squid, took our order and even offered a sample of their fried eggplant (!) banchan, saying it was a little on the sweet side. Omgoodness it was delicious! Just a hint of sweetness to the savory shoyu glaze, so very yummy! We sat on the chairs for maybe 5 minutes and our food was ready!I ordered the BBQ Chicken plate ($15.95) with Kim chee, daikon Kim chee, chap Chae and the fried eggplant. The chicken was conveniently cut up into pieces. My hubby ordered the stir fried squid ($19.95) with Kim chee, chap Chae, fried eggplant and seaweed.Their Kim chee is legit! From personal experience, we've learned that if a Korean BBQ place has good Kim chee, it will be good and we were not disappointed. All the banchan was delicious and of course the BBQ Chicken was juicy and the squid was tasty!Very happy with the quality and quantity of the food as well as the politeness of the employees . As well were leaving, another employee talked with us and said he hoped we like the food and come back to try more items!"

Used to come here all the time for Banh mi cravings. Haven't been back in probably over 6 months. Called in my order since I remember it usually takes longer to prepare. Estimated 20 minutes and was ready when I arrived. We decided to eat there since we were starving! We got our usual favorite - the Vietnamese Banh Mi which is now $11.99. I remember it tasting much more flavorful before, but this time it was a little blander. Maybe they changed the pate recipe? I hope they change it back to the OG Recipe...The Banh mi was packed with veggies which I loved. Crispy exterior without cutting your mouth. Owners are always nice and courteous to us. Con is parking is limited and no AC inside so best to do takeout. Nice to still support local family businesses like this one!

I haven't been here in a while, so I wanted to update my review. I got the a+b combo. You get to pick from a list to create your own plate. I got the fried chicken wings plus fried oysters combo $20.49. The plate had four pieces each of oysters and wings. The plate came with white rice and four sides. I usually do shoyu potatoes at these Korean places, but Gina's doesn't offer that. For my banchan I got taegu, corn, choy sum and kim chee. It also came with two small pieces of veggie spring rolls. While the food was still good, my wings were burnt. Talk about being charred, lol. I'll chalk it up to them having a bad day as the food is usually really good.

SOONS!!! I LOVE YOU!!! lol. Best Plate-Lunch when it comes to Korean Fast Food... Not only is it fast food, it's good food... This staple of a spot serves-up the best BBQ Chicken Plate & The Bento Is a smash!!! it's got the whole kitchen in the plate... It's a Quick-Service Place. The restaurant has about 3 booth-style tables to enjoy your food... 95% of the people take the food to-go!! I'm in love with their Slightly pickled cabbage that accompanies the plate.... I've been to this spot at least 10 times.

Bob's BBQ it could be too keep the tourist away, but for me it's fantastic! Seating is outdoor picnic tables under a shed roof. Don't let the looks make you think it's not a good place, because it really is exceptional and clean in the kitchen . I like their fish, order Ahi dinner , Saba , short ribs combo and scallop , chicken everything tasted yummy. It doesn't get any better than this to see all the different culinary influences that have landed in Hawaii Parking is limited, but spaces open quickly. Truly a local delicious food and the prices are very fair and the portions will not disappoint.

I loved this little hole in the wall place that we stumbled upon on a Costco run. We were craving a plate lunch so we searched Yelp and Kau Kau Grill came up. It's located in an industrial area and parking is limited but it's take out only. We ordered a plate lunch with BBQ ribs and garlic shrimp. They have super generous portions so we split the plate lunch and it was plenty. The meaty pork ribs were cooked perfectly, moist and tender, falling off the bone and the right amount of sauce on them. The succulent shrimp were deliciously garlicky and perfect over the steamed rice that was underneath. They use angel hair pasta for the mac salad which is a little different but good. I will definitely come here again next time we are in the area.

Fire! Have been waiting over a year to try this place. Last year when we visited it was unfortunately closed. Loved the smokiness of both pork and chicken sandwiches. Loved the flavor of the mac salad, the only interesting taste of the salad dressing was something I could not put my finger on. The bun was flavorful and soft, the meat was warm, juicy and fresh. Will def come back and try more things. The guava bar was also a highlight in the meal, not to forget the signature Hawaiian guava juice. The service was fast and friendly. The decor matched and was not generic or over the top.

So good!Stopped here for lunch on our way back to the hotel from the beach. Affordability and portion sizes were great, but the flavors were amazing! We went with the Spicy Pork (perfect spice level), Shoyu Pork (favorite flavor), and Beef & Butter (solid, but least favorite of the three). It's a fun hole in the wall spot...limited seating, but they had great containers to go. Service was fast and the quality was

My darling child is visiting from the east coast. I asked him to make note of all of the places it was important to visit, and of course Song's was at the top of the list for restaurants. This has been our favorite Korean BBQ for well over a decade, and will stay that way for a very long time. My standard order is a Meat Jun mixed plate, with the second selection usually being spicy bbq chicken. When I'm feeling decadent I ask for the Big Bone Kalbi, which is excellent and so hard to find in most places. Post COVID the restaurant is take out only, though they will occasionally allow people to eat there if there's a good reason and they have the space. They simply no longer offer ceramic plates and assorted sides and now use the few tables for food prep or storage. Now it's up to you to pick your favorite four sides instead of having some of each available. Portions are generous, so plan to make a second meal out of your choices. I guess you could share instead, but then you'd have to coordinate with a friend who wants similar things. I've tried that and prefer to have the entire thing to myself. The wonderful family who runs this neighborhood favorite is just lovely. They've built a wonderful rapport with their customers and it's so nice to see the interaction while waiting for the freshly made food. There are often kids running around, or sides being prepared, or a million other things being worked on ahead of time go make their days easier. Song's is located directly behind the Times supermarket on Farrington Highway, just down from the bus depot and in the same building as Wat Get Puerto Rican restaurant. A bit hidden, but well worth the search!;

"Very neat and modern interior. There's good table and chair seating. Ample walkway.Menus are large and up on the wall near the counter.Interesting decor and trophies on display. There's about 4 parking spots right in front of the restaurant. The cashier was kind and explained their menu items. He also cut up our grilled meat requests. Their credit card scanner is propped right onto the back of the register unlike most displays."
"Spicy Ahi & BBQ in Waimalu is a solid spot for delicious and reasonably priced Japanese food. Their combos are the way to go! I had the Ahi Tempura and Chicken Katsu combo, and both were on point--the ahi tempura was fresh, not dry, and the katsu was crispy and flavorful. Just a heads-up, if you want the ahi tempura, come early because they only make a limited amount and sell out fast. Also, check ahead to make sure they're open and not on vacation. Glad they're still in business--next time, I'm definitely trying the spicy ahi!"
"Worked late at the office and wanted to get a quick bite at the Honolulu Skewer House. Made a call to see if they had a table for two. Luckily they were able to accommodate us! Best to call ahead, gets busy with the younger crowd. We ordered a variety of the skewers: beef tongue gizzard tofu salad pork belly pork enokiLambbeef tendon Great service, fun and casual atmosphere! We had fun cooking all our skewers. It's a nice cooking mechanism that allows your skewers to be cooked at table side. Allowing you the opportunity to eat everything hot! We really enjoyed the House Tofu Salad! Stuffed pork sliders were delish and wanted more of the Scallion Pancakes! Everything was delicious! We were stuffed. Have to come back again to try other menu items! Nice touch and we appreciated the complimentary tanghulu dessert!"
"Takeout Dinner in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii...Looking for a quick meal nearby, I searched my Yelp app and found Garden Island Café. I was relieved to see reviews from my friends, Jo Y., Fran C., Gail U., Marisa G., Iris T., Serena M., Julie T., Alice N., and Jace T. They're trustworthy Yelpers!Free parking was a breeze. Inside, several customers were waiting in line for their orders. The competent, friendly cashier interacted with each person politely and efficiently!I got the two daily specials at $10.25 each: Garlic Fish and Beef Broccoli. The "to-go" bag was ready in no time. When I opened the boxes at home, I was surprised at the generous amount of beef broccoli - filled to capacity! The garlic fish was delicious! I was really happy with the food and service! I look forward to returning and getting the next weekly special!"
"Food was really really yummy here tonight! Omg IM SUPER GLAD I CAME HERE! We didn't know where to go and low and behold, YELP directed us to this place. First of all the ambience is really really really nice and welcoming. I then sat down at the table and I love how their chairs have a pillow. You can use it to sit against your back. We then got served water and the cups are super cute! It has this little picture of, I don't know what it is, but it was really cute! OH! And the fork! That had a design of a happy face across the prongs. It was funny because I didn't want to eat with my fork and then ruin the design on the fork or even damage it. But I need to use that fork to feed my face. LOL I ordered cold ginger, chicken, and a bowl of shrimp curry. The lady told me to do a combo instead so I did and I ended up having my cold ginger chicken with my shrimp curry and let me tell you that sucker is a winner! The shrimp had really good flavor. I think I had five pieces of shrimp and there is a huge piece of potato and a huge piece of carrot and OH MAN... that's how I actually love my stews and my curry is with large pieces of vegetables but it has to be super soft to wear if I poked my fork in it it actually slips right through the whole entire thing and that's what happened! That is why I'm very very pleased with my dinner tonight. Except for the ginger chicken sauce. That was a bit sour & smelt bad. I left on the side. My husband he had the garlic chicken and that was like really delicious served HOT! However, when he was eating his garlic chicken and it started to cool down, he said he could taste most of the saucy flavor which was really strong and overpowering. So I think if you're gonna order garlic chicken, you have to make sure that you eat it fast enough to where the food is still hot or take it home and then reheat it in the microwave. He also had a side order of large fries. And these fries are those fat fries and they cook it really good. They actually had it really crunchy and very crispy but yet still was soft so that's the best kind of fries when it's crunchy but yet soft on the inside. The only really disappointing thing for me was... They don't have Coke products! That's my only biggest issue. The fact that they don't sell Coca-Cola and I really need a Coke so bad. Hopefully they change to Coke cause everybody's switching from Pepsi to Coke now so , Coca-Cola is good guys! Finally, at the end of the night I just took some random pictures around the restaurant to show their place and how it looks. It's very cozy, but they did have a table set in the middle for big group and then tables and benches and chairs around the sides of the wall, which looks like it could fit about maybe 30 to 40 peoplE. They were having so much customers come in and ordering takeout. They were super busy! Obviously, this place is a really good place to eat at. A lot of people like it a lot and I can't say anything bad really just that they don't serve Coke. And I mean Coke as in the Coca-Cola product guys. They have so much choices it's WONDERFUL! They also have a menu outside the restaurant so people can view it as they walk past. They also have a little corner inside their restaurant where it's a waiting area for those who order to go. It's set up really nice and cute! I think my kids would love it if they had to wait for their order over there. My 3 year old baby would just sit and observe the decor.Oh! they do give you a 3% discount if you pay in cash. And then they have this card thing that if you spend $10 or more in cash you get a stamp and then I guess if you fill up a card, you can get a free gift or a prize or something. I totally forgot to ask for one of those stamp cards so I missed out on three stamps tonight. Yeah I know I wanted to go back in to ask for the card because it was a guy who cashed me out. And that guys name is FEI. I ended up asking him to take a photo for my yelp review and he was so nice he did it, but I think he forgot to give me the card because I probably distracted him. But NEXT TIME!Anyways, hope this review helps and hope you enjoyed my review. Okie dokes folks! Have a good one. Be safe! MALAMA PONO A HUI HOU...Birdie"
"Excellent Food, Great Service, Awesome Service .We enjoyed our dinner tonight and will definitely be coming back."
"I'm from Hawaii but used to live Texas. I figure i try it because it's nearby. I hate to compare but my god the food was better than some of the top bbq places in Texas!!!!!Also ate in there, very clean and spacious. Lots of people order take out. Only one out of 3 staff members were actually friendly lol. The guy David has a big Texas hat, local Braddah and super friendly and helpful with my mom explaining what the sides were, comparing it to local foods. Loved it! He went above and beyond to help us choose what to get and even gave us wet naps. It wasn't busy when we ate there, after he helped us, he's fixing the kitchen and sweeping while the other two was straight chilling where customers sit. David stayed busy. So hardworking. Love to see that at establishments! Way to go David. But the food was majaaaah."
"We keep driving by this place and it looks so elegant we really wanted to try it. Finally someone suggested Hangang for a friend dinner. Made an early reservation and got a covered parking space in back of the restaurant, woo hoo!We ordered family style and since the portions were rather large it was a good idea. Ordered bibimbap, galbi, steamed egg, zucchini jun, and galbijjin. Also we split a bottle of Jeju soju. It was a little hard to get the attention of a server as it was very busy and the floor was a bit sticky so I didn't want to put my purse down, but the food was very good. I'll be back with my family."
"So glad we found this hidden gem. My family and I were starved after many tourist activities and hubby was craving Hawaiian chicken teriyaki. Instead of going to the first place we saw, which was "L & L", I yelped and found "K and K" and the reviews were top notch. We split the 3 protein combo with garlic sprinkledrice, slaw and Mac salad. We chose Mochiko chicken (5/5) Garlic shrimp (5/5) and Chicken Teriyaki (5/5) Everything was so tasty and comforting ! Def stop by here prior or after Kailua beach! You will thank me later. Now I'm hungry wanting to eat here again while I write this as my mouth is salivating! The inside of restaurant is very laid back with boxes everywhere, kinda reminded me of a warehouse storage room but didn't bother us, but if you are HM, it may bother you. Lastly, not sure what they do to the rice but it's so tasty with garlic butter sprinkles, the texture reminds me of Japanese furikake, minus the seaweed and fish flakes.I have seen rice like this a couple times at food trucks & it pairs so well. . It's SO good and hits the spot! Honestly, I love this place more than Duke's! More bang for your buck! At Duke's restaurant, we had to wait a long time to get seated, we had to wait so long to get our food, and we had to wait so long to get our check. The kids were exhausted. Don't think I'll ever return to that Duke's in Waikiki ever again. Sometimes, grocery store poke bowls, food trucks, and random small restaurant "finds"hits home way better if you know what I mean. We will def return. Mahalo "K & K". The lady owner is very nice :)Aloha"
"First time I've been there. Got there 10 minutes before opening and saw the long line. My mistake for going on Chinese new year. Got inside and actually ordered maybe 25-30 minutes after opening. Dim sum is huge! Prices are good. Manapua prices kinda steep but very tasty and fresh. Came for the roasted pork. Mostly fatty but it was crispy! Will try again when there is no line."
"This little proverbial hole in the wall is worth seeking out- ono food, reasonable prices and massive quantities! I hade the Peppa's special which includes mandoo, rice, 4 choice veggies, kalbi, bbq chicken and bulgogi. Dang! My wife had the bbq chicken combo with plenty meat jun. The folks are nice, it's clean inside and there is parking in the back, an excellent bonus. We had so much leftovers that we enjoyed another night of delicious Korean food. Now there's still chicken left for another plate. All in all, great value and you will not leave hungry. Com so mida!!!"
"Went for lunch here with the bestie today for the first time and it was delish! We had the steak pho and chicken sandwich. Friendly and attentive service, loved the ambiance--large open restaurant, and they spaced us out so we weren't all crowded together with the other customers. The soup broth was amazing and there were so many veggies. The sandwich was just as good as the pho, the bread soft and crispy and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. There wasn't enough time to talk because we were enjoying the food so much!"
"While Jamie W. and I had our share of plate lunches on our recent trip to Oahu, I have to admit we really didn't eat true Hawaiian food beyond loco moco. After all, who doesn't like hamburger steak with a lot of brown gravy? However, we made note of a couple of local vloggers who claimed this was the go-to place for authentic Hawaiian food.It wasn't in a ramshackle shack in an old Honolulu neighborhood. Nope, it's in the always crazy-busy Makai Market Food Court in the middle of Ala Moana Shopping Center. In fact, this was one of the busier kiosks, so we were feeling pretty confident. I ordered the $18.75 Three-Item Combo Plate which came with rice and macaroni salad. Worked for me.I selected Pork Adobo, Kalua Pig Cabbage, and Chicken Long Rice. All three were tasty with the kalua pig the standout. The long rice was more like glass noodles simmered in chicken broth. I switched out the rice for their Chinese fried rice (photo: https://yelp.to/7hM8L_1-nn). The mac salad was decent enough though more slithery than I preferred (photo: https://yelp.to/4JEmBLCEn7).Jamie ordered almost the same thing but skipped the Chicken Long Rice. He just paid $16.95 for his Two-Item Combo (photo: https://yelp.to/smQpMfeQ93). True to what the vloggers said, our meals tasted more like food that was prepared in somebody's kitchen and less like luau leftovers. Honestly the biggest challenge was finding an open table because this food court is a complete zoo at lunchtime.FOOD - 4 stars...authentically homestyle Hawaiian eatsAMBIANCE - 3 stars...it's the mall...what do you expect?SERVICE - 3.5 stars...they serve it up full and quickTOTAL - 4 stars...eat like a real localRELATED - Exploring Hawaii? "On Tuesday, 11/26/24, at 11:30a I stopped by at Mark's Drive Inn to pick up lunch. I ordered the Beef with Bittermelon plate lunch. It came with 2 scoops of rice and a Mac salad. The Bittermelon was cooked perfectly with a crisp vegetable crunch and covered with a savory black bean sauce. The delectable beef married well with the stir fried combination. Although this place is small, there are some seats if you need to eat inside. Overall, this is a great place to pick up something quick to eat. I will be back again and get something else at Mark's Drive Inn."
"My new fav Korean yakiniku! My first time was with my husband for my 30th, & I'm so glad we came here bc the stew is so die for. Either miso or soft tofu stew, they're BOTH hands down the best stews I had on Oahu.Parking is either right out front (limited stalls) or parking behind the building next to Club Femme Nu.2nd time here for Mother's Day & hubby got to treat us! I'm so happy to be here with my family. Definitely our go-to yakiniku in town now. Can't go wrong with the reasonable prices AND complementary sides were also tasty! It's not a big fancy updated place, but the restaurant really shows the Korean authenticity."
"Very crowded Yummy Korean BBQ located in the Ala Moana food court . I ordered a Meat jun and Kalbi combo . My sides were japchae , Kim Chee, garlic potato and Mac salad . Their meat jun was ok it was marinated already with the egg. Kalbi was ok a little burnt but good taste .The bad thing about this whole ordeal is there so many flies enjoying my meal instead of me .Ala Moana Management surely needs to do something about this . Support local"
"Great small hole in the wall spot for..DA ULTIMATE GRINDZ!I always get their ahi katsu roll. Must try it you visit here. Trust. They also have friendly staff that'll answer your questions about the menu and whatnot. Support local! Check em out!"
"Saw this restaurant bc we parked by there and intended to go to Tonkatsu Ginza but they weren't accepting anymore tables for the evening. We remembered seeing Ginza Won on the way in and decided let's just go here to eat and we're 100 percent super happy! Their quality of meats was sooo good and their seafood tofu soup was the best we've eaten in so long. Seafood was so fresh. The services was so great. The server was very authentic and personable. He gave us great suggestions and kept our banchan full. He mentioned his mom made that super delicious tofu soup. Definitely we will be back next time we're in Hawaii."
"Breakfast in Honolulu, Hawaii...My Aunty Nohea was wondering about the location of my niece's Graduation party. I told her that I could take her there and show her exactly where to park! After our trial run and site inspection, she offered to treat me to breakfast. I used my Yelp app and searched for a restaurant nearby.I suggested New Queen Barbeque. Aunty Nohea knew exactly where it was because she used to work in the area! Yay!We found free street parking around the corner on Kawaiha'o Street and we walked down the block.New Queen Barbeque is located on the corner of Queen Street and Cooke Street. It was a clean, bright, straightforward, order, pay, and pick-up at the counter type of place. There are five tables for dining in, but most customers did takeout. The door was left open, so, the air conditioning is just average.I ordered the regular (not mini) Hamburger Steak. It came with a light brown gravy, potato salad, and two scoops of rice. The potato salad was not memorable and the Hamburger was just okay. The gravy helped me eat more rice. I was hungry and it filled me up. This was a thoughtful meal from my Aunty and I'm grateful for her kindness! I'd return if I could find free street parking again!"
"So...I didn't quite anticipate much coming into Yakiniku Sizzle, but boy did the expectations kind of play out a ton better than I thought it did. This place screams 'Japanese' from the decor to the menu...and I liked that.I ended up ordering the Beef Tongue Stew lunch plate, which, price-wise, for almost $20 (with tax), it might have been a bit pricey. But...because it's beef Tongue, I think it's understandable why it's priced that way.It really deliverered for sure. I never had beef Tongue before, and yet having tastes it, I have to say...it wasn't that bad. Super tender and the sauce really was delicious. Might have been the best thing I ate at a Japanese restaurant by far.Would I come back there again? Absolutely. Even though the place is pretty small, it definitely is a great place to consider if you're looking for something to eat that's kind of "out there" for sure."
"Food comes out hot and fast and is tasty. It's very air conditioned so bring a sweater or something to cover up in. Get takeout and go to Foodland to shop while you're waiting and food will be ready. It's always fast which is nice when you're hungry. However the most notable thing about this place is the service. The woman who is always there - I've been there at night and during the day weekends and weekdays - she works hard and is so friendly and really treats her customers like close friends. We've seen her talk to a large group of tourists (how did they end up in market city?) and patiently walk them through the menu and figure out seating. We've seen her enthusiastically greet individuals who may be regulars and she asks them about how they're doing or if so and so will join them. She's kind and friendly and warm to the point that the hub and I always comment on it when we go."
"Romantic and fun date spot for those who are interested in trying something you can tell your friends about. This restaurant is located near Walmart in town. ADA accessible entrance, though it might be a tight fit. We had the sweetest waitress here, Vicki, who was attentive and went above and beyond for us. At the end of our meal we wanted to order their dessert, but they were out. Vicki found some Melona bars in the freezer that I think were the cook's personal stash and gave them to us with a smile. Thank you Vicki for making our stay special. The skewers here are delicious. You can order the perfect amount to be full without wasting any food. Great for groups who want to try lots of different things. The cucumber salad was a nice balance to all the meats. The only thing we can think of to make this even better, is if iSing (karaoke bar) next door and Volcano Skewer House partnered up :) these skewers would make the perfect karaoke food."
"Wow pleasantly surprised. This small mom and pop shop with the guy speaking broken English serves up on of the best combo phos on island. Their broth is savory with depth and a hint of sweetness, exactly how I like it. All the meats - brisket, tripe, rare steak, are tender and flavorful. The herbs are fresh and plentiful bagged up for us in our takeout order. The pho costs about $17.50 each, which is not cheap but slightly above average. The location in Kakaako isn't the best and it's not the nice part of Kakaako, yet the prices are higher than expected. Oh well at least their pho is amazing and this can be our new regular takeout spot now!Parking can be challenging even for just a quick pickup. I ended up parking outside of some business in its driveway on Queen st with my emergency lights on. Otherwise there are maybe 4 curb spots on Cooke st outside the restaurant, but there are at least 2 other restaurants adjacent to Niu so it can be challenging I suppose."
