"As a absolute beadaholic this is one of my go to must though because of the pandemic their hours have greatly reduced (which is the reason I only have one picture I had only a few minutes before they close for the weekend) but am grateful for their awesome selections. Everything from glass beads, pearls, Swarovski, chains and all wires.I've learned so much from their classes which they're back offering now (hallelujah!) to a small group of 3. Very knowledgeable staff with a wide arrangement of craft that doesn't restrict to just beading. Bead it is a participant of Fivestars where you can earn loyalty rewards which can help create and inspire your bling, thank you!!"
"On a whim, I was lucky to be able to sign up for a 1 day workshop during an especially trying and busy, too much life stuff is happening time. I left feeling light and fantastic! I had taken pottery in high school and was never a successful thrower. My teacher said, "you just don't got it" and I believed him. I tried again about 15 years ago and just ended up making hand built stuff. The teacher/owner was all I could ask for- giving the right amount of guidance and help and I got it!"
"Gwenaelle was really great. She made our office gathering fun and helped us a lot. Very sweet and tasty going. I guess that's what you get when she's from north shore. I would so love to do another painting with her again. Thanks for a great night... we all enjoyed ourselves."
"Since Mai Tai's and Monet was founded I've had several painting parties with them. The artists who come to guide the process have been friendly, on time, talented and fun. I have gone to or hosted 6 or 7 parties now, and each one is better than the last.I appreciate that they bring all the painting supplies with them, and that while we all paint the same thing, each painting is unique. For the parties I have hosted, I have imagined and talked through design ideas and had them come to life on my canvas. I am NOT an artist in my mind, but through the instruction from Tammy and her amazing staff, I always leave a Mai Tais and Monet party feeling like one!"
"Daughter and I came here before heading to airport for travel home. We wanted a keepsake from Hawaii and this was perfect. Be advised that this is an appointment only business and it gets busy. Just go to their website and book your appointment. They are located on the first floor of the shopping center right by Rolex. We arrived and were able to walk right in and get our permanent jewelry in no time. The staff working was only 1 and she was great! So friendly despite having a rude customer while we were there. She greeted us and walked us through choosing a bracelet and a charm. We selected our set and she got us in and out! They were having a BOGO 50% off when we were there. Total for 2 bracelets - 1 silver 1 gold with 1 charm was around $120. They offer jewelry making classes which is pretty cool also. Something I'd like to try next time!"
"Claire taught a class for an event with my Meetup group. Communication was great and last minute adjustments were handled with ease. Claire is a great teacher, very patient with the students and made everyone comfortable no matter their artistic ability (or lack thereof in my case). The park class setup was cute and felt very cozy with the cushions and tables. Everything was all set up nicely. I will book many more events, I'm already looking for another day on the calendar!"
"I did hot yoga at this studio a few times, maybe around 7 years ago. Then, pretty much only the owner was teaching classes... it was a small cozy studio, nothing fancy, I actually forgot it was even there. I decided it was time to reconnect my breath with my body and started looking for a studio close by and Yoga & Art popped up in my Yelp search. I scoped it out and realized that studio I went to 7 years recently shifted in to offering more types of yoga and art classes! I signed up for a beginners vinyasa flow with Mia. It. Was. FANTASTIC. You could feel her positive energy and she spread her attention to everyone in the class. I could not have asked for a better first class to get back in to the flow of things. Icing on the cake? The owner had just finished a class when I arrived, he looked up and said "hi erica! Long time no see." He remembered me from 7 years ago!!!Needless to say I've found my new yoga home. I can't wait to transform my mind and body with the guidance from this studio. I'm also excited about trying the art classes! So stoked to have this studio so close to home!"
"If you're yearning to get your painting on, this is the company to go to! Best prices hands down for private parties ($30/person for 10-14 people and $25/person if you have 15 guests or more). I booked a 15 person private event on the create a canvas website and received confirmation by the next day from the owner. You get to choose the painting you're going to paint from over 50 selections. I ended up with a scenic ocean wave because I thought it'd appease both genders. Our instructor was Natalie, who was prompt and encouraging. She set up and cleaned everything all on her own, big mahalos! Now for the painting part...I was hesitant that the guys might not be too into it but I was so wrong. Our group had a blast and everyone's inner picasso came out. Natalie said we were the most quiet group she ever taught...we were really focused I guess lol. Bottom line...book this awesome company for your next party! Can't wait to try one of their hosted events at Kona brewing company."
"I have been looking for a great art teacher for my creative cat daughter for a long time. In fact I tried findinf for my older daughter a while back. Schools don't always offer continuous art classes. Knowing that my kids LOVE the arts, it was a blessing to find a teacher just starting up drawing classes. Better to know that its on the WEST SIDE!The class he is starting for now is drawing. My daughter has been able to attend the 4 sessions for drawing and she has learned a lot! Each class she has been excited to come and always leave with wanting to draw more. I wish she had the same enthusiasm for violin and homework.1st session she was able to learn the basics and she actually completed a cartoon drawing on her own. The other sessions she learned exercises that have improved her technique. I love that she enjoys it so much that we will definitely be signing up for more! As of now it is just drawing class, but in the future he plans to teach watercolor and other art styles. As a note, the class is held on the second floor and is a shared office space on other days. Its small but able to fit a class of 4. Overall, Jeff is a great and talented teacher. He interacts well with all ages. My daughter is 9 and she loves coming to class. If you have an artist, no matter what age, this is the class for them!"

Sometimes there are certain pendant that whatever happens you gotta keep it in your pocket until you find somebody to fix it. And yes, it's BEAD IT!Last Wednesday we head here hoping that Bead It can fix it and thankfully this guy named Brendan (owner of the bead shop at the same time) is more welcome to help us. Showed us a lil bit of simple trick to loop the string and to make it short in a span of about 10mins. he fixed it and bandit is clapping with glee. Brendan is really helpful & friendly. Our experience so far is good. He answers our queries & is being a nice helpful guy to his customer. Well except for the 1st time that we enter the place. He's a lil bit cold at first and took a minute before he entertains us coz he somehow did sorting of some of the beads in the shelf. This store is complete from tools to different beads that you need. Swing by & give it a try. The day before we came in I was a lil bit of skeptical coz it seems that this shop got poor customer service but my bandit insisted to coz this one is closer to us & the only store that we know it's open. Goodness it's Brendan & not some sort of Asian woman whom I read from other yeep's review that got a nasty attitude.Mahalo nui loa for reading this review at the end & HAPPY JUANDERING fellow yelpers!IG: hello.juanderpinaywww.juanderbandit.world

Everybody was kind and respectful of each other. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place.

PAINTING PARTY!what is "Mai Tai's and Monet"? a company that gives you and your friends a chance to be artists! here's what you do: #1 grab a bunch of friends. #2 grab a bunch of food#3 grab a bunch of alcohol#4 pick a venue (like your house, a friends house, etc)#5 hire Mai Tai's and Monet#6 Paint and eat and drink with your friends#7 Take your painting home, hang it on the wall and say to people "I MADE THAT!" Its fun, easy, and a nice change from doing the usual with your buds. the cost is about $30 - $35 dollars (you can get a $5 discount by downloading the "Loyal Blocks" app). they have a "pro" artist show up and show everyone at your party how to paint a pre-selected picture chosen by the host. the host (and/or guests if you're doing a potluck kind of thing) provides food, alcohol, other beverages, etc. the artist sets up and teaches everyone to paint, and everyone has something to take home. they also can do children's parties too!to get a better idea of what they do, check out their facebook page and their business site. its really fun, and will kick-start your interest in painting!

I randomly stumbled into the Gem Studio when I was walking around the International Market Place and ended up getting a forever anklet.I think the guy who helped me was called Matt (it's been a while so apologies if it isn't). Matt walked me thru the entire process and showed me all the available anklets in gold. He also held them against my ankle so I know what they look like against my skin. I picked what I thought looked best and Matt went to work by welding the gold anklet to my ankle! It was simple, quick, and fun! Great experience on vacation with an even more awesome souvenir to take home!

It was really fun that we all got to pick our own painting but still had one on one instruction. Claire was really helpful and made sure we were all happy with our outcome. It was also nice that it was during happy hour, it made for a really fun moms night!

I have been coming here for many years they really made the place nice they have added more classes. The staff is very friendly. I've had a problem with the doghater security guard so they trespass me. I just paid for a monthly pass. The owners are very nice. They only charge me for two classes and they gave me a full refund for the remainder of my month because I'm not allowed on Koko Marina property. Very sad. I've been going there for a long time.

I had the best birthday painting party this past Sunday! I have to admit I was very skeptical that all invited would produce paintings worth of hanging, as the majority have not only never painted before but never have been inclined to paint. (In fact, two of my guests had thought we were painting a room in my house LOL.)We prepped the patio, arranging tables, worried about covering them to protect their surfaces, got soft drinks, some wine. Natalie arrived as promised: she had the tables covered, easels set up, supplies in place, including water cups to rinse and paper towels in no time flat! No stress! We had chosen the Heather Brown inspired seascape. If you are familiar with H. Brown's paintings, you know they're sort of stained glass like, with dark lines delineating colored areas. I had wondered about the different levels of skills present and the results until I saw that Natalie had predrawn the lines! Whew! She brought a sample for us to see and briefly explained we could redraw the lines later so don't worry about staying in the lines. Whew! She further explained that had she not drawn the lines it would probably take us more than the 2 hours allotted. I had worried about a few is us standing for 2 hours and had told Natalie to prepare for a loud and raucous crowd. No problem! Not only did the 2 hours fly by with nary a complaint but we were all quiet as mice!!!! Natalie quietly walked around unobtrusively, providing encouragement and more paint. We went over by about half an hour but Natalie graciously did not complain. We helped her gather her things and clean up but I'm sure she would've done it all herself. I felt bad about going over. She provided table coverings, aprons, paint brushes in various sizes, water in cups for rinsing, plates of paint, preset, paper towels for clean up, easels and predrawn canvases. NOTHING was left to provide! Natalie was friendly, kind, polite, clean, efficient & was never overbearing. She was a peach!I highly recommend this company and would gladly attend again.

"This is why I love to wander and get lost...Driving has it's benefits I'll never give in but when you go for a stroll you do see things much more vibrant and clearer when you take it slow...DAC or Downtown Art Center is one of them.Located in the same building as the Satellite City Hall and so is the Municipal Parking is right there even the elevator takes you right besides the entrance of both floors. Two floors yup the first floor are beautiful art for sale though you need to ring yourself in to view them I decided to check the upstairs first beforehand and that level needed no request to be let in.What a stunning spacious are filled with all sorts of art I took a few of my personal favorites and left some for you to enjoy which I do recommend as it's totally free admission and I do recommend to visit their Hale Makana gift shop as it's filled with so many beautiful items and as a crafter myself there's nothing more I love than to support the arts. This nonprofit group takes donations which I did drop in the jar and took home some beautiful cards I'll send to someone to brighten their day and is just a great place to casually enjoy the beauty all around you follow them on Instagram @downtownartcenter as they do have events and classrooms as well and bring home a piece of art...support local artists!Thank you!"
"This has been THE best paint party I have ever been to. Jenna with Happy Canvas Hawai'i is THE very BEST! From pre-party coordination to the actual party and paint sesh and after with that final touch of sharing photos with us. Jenna is genuine, super sweet, detailed, down to earth, and very good at her art. She makes the whole process simple and easy to do and understand. She definitely doesn't rush you and will make sure you are not lost or far behind. I really enjoyed her local girl easy going attitude that she became part of the 'ohana by the time we finished. Jenna is able to accommodate your needs whether at your place or elsewhere. She brings her setup of canvas, paints, brushes, and etc. Not sure if her sidekick (her furson) Charlie would tag along but she does come prepared and ready to have some fun. We were able to use two different medias - paint and pen. That was neat. We love Jenna w/HCHi and know you will too. Check her out here or on Instagram. She's so full of aloha!"
"How is it possible that Adventures in Art is not on Yelp??? Yes, they've changed locations over the years but it's still the same wonderful Miss Alison and same amazing kid art classes!!! My 9 year son has been taking art classes with Adventures in Art for the past 3 years. He's done just about anything you can think of! Charcoal sketches, acrylic paintings, clay sculptures, marionettes, and more!!! I'd be more specific but I'm not an artist. My son, on the other hand, is a naturally talented artist (I know you're thinking every parent thinks that way of their child, but mine really is LOL). When my son first started with Miss Alison, he struggled with completing projects and not being able to move past minor mistakes. Over the years, Miss Alison has really gotten to learn my son's ways and taught him that art is what you make it and it's not always perfect and symmetrical. Miss Alison keeps her classes small and affordable so she can work individually with each student. We tried a semester at the Honolulu Museum of Art School; my son loved it but the class sizes were so big I felt he was lost in the system and his talent wasn't tapped into well as it is with Miss Alison. Students don't have to be already be artists....Miss Alison will help them blossom into one! And if they're already amazing artists, she will help them explore other mediums and become even better artists!"
"Aunty Paulette & Aunty Mary Lou have a huge place in Hawaiian history, because they have contributed so much to the preservation of the talent for feather lei making. The talent and aloha of these two icon oozes out when you go and visit their shop on Kapahulu Avenue.I was first introduced to feather lei making when I used to dance hula for Na Lei Hulu I Ka Weiku. When my kumu (dance teacher) asked us to make a lei hulu (feather lei) for a dance performance, I was super dissapointed because I knew it was going to be a LOT of work. But WOW - that was perhaps one of the best things that I have ever done in my history of dancing hula.Since my first feather lei making experience, I have visited Aunty Paulette & Aunty Mary Lou almost every time I go back home to Honolulu. I always learn something new, and both are always willing to share their no'eau (knowledge) with me. I just wish one day I could have a small percentage of their talents. They are not only knowledgeable on making lei hulu, but they know a LOT about Hawaiian history, the protocol for Hawaiian culture, and people who have influenced the development of the Hawaiian culture. The store is a nice and cozy little store. The store offers very reasonable and very unique feathers to make leis. Feathers from the goose, to the rooster, to the peacock, to peasant, etc are all in the store ready for your selection. Prices are very reasonable, and Aunty is always willing to give you a quick tip or hint if you ask. There are several ready-made lei hulu for sale in a display case - made by the aunties and their haumana (students). My favorite thing in the store is the royalty cape made purely of yellow and red feathers. It's one of Aunty Mary Lou's most famous masterpieces!Aunty Paulette & Aunty Mary Lou - mahalo nui loa no kou no'eau. Nunui ka hau'oli au no kou makana mai ia'u. Malamalama."
"I'm so happy that I found Art Tent. I pretty much found them from a google search trying to find my daughter an art class. Art Tent is located on South Beretania right across the street from the Honolulu Police Station. They have a drop off spot on Beretania by Bo's Kitchen but the long term parking is in the back of the building. The back of the building is on Kinau Street and is in the 800 Mauka Plaza parking. There's a lot of parking back there. My daughter just finished up her second session at Art Tent Studios. She took the late class on Saturday for grades 1-3 with Mrs. Okano. At first we didn't know what to expect with art class. We didn't know anyone who attended art class here but we just wanted to try because my daughter loves art. It was such a good experience. Her teacher, Mrs Okano, is so creative with all their projects. Each week they were working on something new and interesting. My daughter was always excited to be going to art class. It's really nice that the class size is small and Mrs Okano is a great teacher. She's very patient with them and has them really explore their own creative side rather than each kid just make a copy of the teacher. At the end of the two sessions there was an art exhibition. We got to see all of the art work from all of the classes they offered. My daughter had about 6-7 projects that she completed. You could really see her growth from the first project to the last. We signed up for another session with Mrs Okano and can't wait to see what new things my daughter will be learning."
"Painting in Kaneohe, Hawaii...Paint nights have been happening for years and this is the first time that I got a chance to experience one. Thanks to Jessica and Jules for planning this group activity and organizing us!Before Jessica moves to the mainland, there were a few things that she wanted to do together and one of them was painting. She selected this picture of a waterfall with a flowering tree and butterflies because the other pictures looked "touristy"... haha! The venue (The Beach House) was a local bar in my neighborhood. It was convenient for me since I live and work in Kaneohe. I knew where it was (next to Windward Mall) and that there was free parking...and a restroom with curtains instead of walls to designate separate stalls! Tip: Just lock the door for privacy! Don't let anyone else in with you, ladies! Our instructor, Kate, was awesome! She was so bubbly, informative, and reassuring. I have never painted before and I have always wanted to try. I was afraid of the outcome...lol!This was a super great experience! All of the supplies were provided. Kate and her assistant, Lei, set up and cleaned up for us! We had a blast - and a finished product to remind us of a happy memory. Gosh, Jessica... I'm starting to really miss you already... waaahhh! (Crying a waterfall now...) =(P.S. Thanks to Jules for her patience in walking me through the online registration. I couldn't have done it without you!P.P.S. We were given a stamp card - wow - a Loyalty Program... shall we go again?"
"Love this organization! They teach young kids art and just started hands on science classes! They have a great summer school program too. They challenge the kids in fun and creative ways. All the instructors are so accommodating, friendly, patient, and truly love what their doing and the kids. I have a very energetic child and they welcome his energy with open arms. He always looks forward to all his Kidzart and ClubScientific classes."
"Love this new place for kids to express themselves and create ART it's located in the cozy and lush Manoa neighborhood ... right past Serg's Mexican food and before the Fire Station in the blue bldg on the left hand side. All the details about parties, classes, camps, after school classes, homeschool classes, etc are on their website. We were invited to a 10th Birthday party here and it was so nice ... they have a comfortable setting for the parents, activities planned for the kids, and in 2 hours plus the kids had a blast and went home with their creations ! Lunch and cake were able to be brought in and bathrooms right next to the room the two ladies running the place were so kind and creative! Definitely recommend checking Oahu Bright Lab out ... maybe we will see you there Aloha"
"Art within the art...Tucked in the back of Traditions Coffee Roasters is Icky Love Art Loft and Gallery which is home to 40+ various artists and what a treat to find this gem that's filled with so much beautiful inspiration. The staff here is just incredibly knowledgeable of every single artist and priced that's showcased here with not just who they are but where they're from and is amazing what you'll find in this cozy gallery. The only downside is the long walk up the stairs and even with my horrible knee I just couldn't resist taking a peek as the Tradition Coffee Roasters describes what they have I was just so excited and curious. Here you'll find many items from stickers, wall arts, books, jewelry and beautiful assortment of pottery and so much more! I was told that the owner makes pottery and holds workshops & events right in the shop which is super cool and fun but having a bunch of local artist here in one place is so amazing to support local not found anywhere which I did as I couldn't resist a Hebrew Shell Keychain, a cute bowl I'm planning to put jewelry in which will add some fun character that I love which is brining out the crafty in me but love the find of this unique piece of art.Thank you!"
"I kind of knew Manoa School of Music was located at the Manoa Marketplace. I had seen signs and passed by countless times on my trips to neighboring businesses. I never paid much attention, however, until recently, when one of my daughters expressed an interest in learning to play the violin. A quick internet search led me to their web page which provided some basic information. More useful and current information came via email with the owner Carolyn Stanton. She answered all of my questions promptly and professionally and we were registered and ready to go with violin lessons in no time.Erika is our daughter's teacher. Our daughter has no violin experience, and Erika has been very kind, encouraging and patient. After each lesson, she reviews with us how the lesson went (what went well, what was practiced, etc.) She also gives us guidance for what to practice at home until the next lesson. The school offers numerous musical classes - strings, piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, etc. Their brochure also indicates they offer visual arts classes and cooking classes. Who knew?Super convenient location (Manoa Marketplace). Lots of parking and lots to do while you're waiting for your budding musical virtuoso."
"With a name like Posy Parties, do you even need to look any further?!?!Manu was amazing; if you're like me, and know ZERO about flowers, you'll find Manu to be amazing as well! Florals will be one of the more pricey items on your vendor list, but I promise that if you hire Posy Parties, you will be SO happy with the results.I spoke with a few other florists before deciding to book with Manu; not only was she extremely timely in her responses, but her prices were very reasonable in comparison, and our consultations couldn't have been easier. I spoke with Manu over the phone several times, and emailed her pictures of what I had envisioned. I actually NEVER personally met her, as I was so busy the day of the wedding that I never got to meet her!Manu went above and beyond everything that I could have imagined with the flowers... People kept complimenting our beautiful bouquets and asking who we used. She turned our concrete jungle ceremony site into a beautiful fairytale. Many of my other vendors had never even heard of Posy Parties. Although Posy Parties is not as mainstream as many other florists on the island, I'm so glad that i went with my gut and trusted Manu with our flowers. I have a feeling that they will not be such a secret any more!"
"What a school concept!!I just can't understand why no one has started a review of this place other than keeping it a secret perhaps!? Well it isn't because as soon as they post a class it almost instantly sells out. Yes you certainly need to follow them on Instagram @fishschoolhawaii to stay in the know of the latest classes and/or activities as the randomness they offer is truly something to behold.Located in the back room of Fishcake a cool fun furnishing place, fishschool is exactly that a gathering learning place to broaden your horizon to endless possibilities and many classes are on the weekend though they do offer some in the evening after Fishcake is closed I did find something that really interested me though many did but listed in the June classes was "Easy, Peasy, Tapestreezy" by Ayako Takao. This class is creating a personal loom out of recyclable cardboard to create your own unique tapestry using any items you have lurking around your home. All tools are provided and we used yarn though they do encourage us to bring our own strips of old shirts, strings, pompoms or even trinkets which is cool as I already was dreaming up of what I can make.Ayako was great making sure each of us understand it all step by step and it was quite easy to create your loom and with the amount of yarn I've accumulated during the quarantine shut down (I go nuts doing nothing for days) I just love adding more creative way to utilize an item and have learned so much as we were welcome to ask any questions and was shown different weaves, that's there nothing you can't do to make it all your own.Thank you!!"
"I have been looking for an art class for my son. My co-worker found this place on IG. She sent me the profile. I looked through all their post. I knew my son would love this place. I showed him the posts and he told me to sign him up right away. You have to register and pay online through their site. The Art and Tech Sunday Day Camp is perfect for our schedule. The hours are from 9AM-4PM. You can do full or half day. We need a little rest on Sunday's so the 1PM-4PM works out well for us.I'm glad I left a little earlier from Kaneohe to find their location. GPS takes you right there but there is on signage for OAT. I didn't know it was upstairs from all the restaurants. I called the number they have listed on yelp and they let us know to go up stairs. Two of the teachers greeted us at the door. They showed us around and explained what they were going to learn. His first art lesson was with Andy Lee. He is an artist for Marvel, Dragon Ball Z, etc. He was teaching Chinese brush strokes. My son jumped right in and started using the brush. After 2 hours of Art class he went to Tech class where he learned to make a vacuum out of a water bottle , card board and batteries. Yesterday day was his 2nd Sunday and he learned 3D pen art and how to construct a mini elevator/lift. He loves everything about OAT. They also give them a little time to play with big building blocks and robotic toys. He wants me to leave him there from 9AM-4PM so he can learn more. Maybe next session. I'm glad I found this place!!! I'll keep updating and posting vids and pics."
