The food was soooo yummy! We had the pork hash classic, Kalua pork loco moco, and the bulgogi ciabatta for breakfast. Can't wait to go back to try the French toast! Sit down area is small so either go early or be prepared to wait. No big parities. The biggest table on its own was 4. But I love shops like that. Service was awesome. They were kind and the food came out pretty quick. Parking was just fine when we came but I can see how you might not get good parking if it's super busy. But they do take out!

Hole in wall restaurant. Self seating, order at the counter.Ube cheesecake stuffed French toast was Korean braised short rib Benny was 3/5, meat was tough and hard to eat.Fried rice was delicious.Short rib ciabatta breakfast sandwich had good flavor but the meat was dry, overcooked and leathery, also hard to chew.

Really wanted to like this spot since it is a local business but unfortunately our experience fell short. There's plenty of parking in the plaza and we're many seats available when we arrived. You first order and prepay for your meal before getting seated. I chose the Korean short rib Benedict and upgraded my side to fried rice for $2.75 and my boyfriend got the loco moco.As they were preparing my food they later told me that they were out of fried rice which was fine, but I later realized they didn't return my $2.75 back for upgrading the side since I ended up picking a regular side. Kinda disappointed that the waitress didn't bring it up and offered to refund the difference.Short rib Benedict was very dry and almost burnt. It felt as if I was eating beef jerky, but in contrast the eggs were perfectly poached. Loco moco tasted burnt as well and was lacking seasoning. The gravy was decent and helped with kind of masking the burnt taste. Maybe we came on an off day but left disappointed.

Great local breakfast place. Button Up is a no frill cafe with great food. We ordered corned beef hash and French toast. Everything came out hot and yummy. The place has only 6 tables. Dishes are served on paper plates and plastic utensils. People are very friendly here. You can park in the parking lot g lot but it's kinda limited. Will deco come back here for breakfast.

Button up is always packed on weekends so I've had to get take out. I had the Uber stuffed French toast and it was great! This time I got to go for breakfast on a Wednesday and there was only 3 other families inside. The staff was friendly, there was a large menu selection and you can just pour the coffee yourself inside at the station next to the cashier. The servings are huge! I didn't eat of all mine and neither did my mom! I love the flavor and crispness of the kalua pork on the loco moco. Gravy was flavorful too and normally I don't like Mac salad but there's was really good - not overly mushy with mayo. My mom's omelette was so good! Lots of cheese and veggies. The potatoes were very very crispy! Everything was great and I can see why they're busy. Definitely want to go back again!

Button Up Cafe is a small, unassuming eatery in Pearl City that serves Hawaiian staples and delicious dessert items. I definitely recommend eating at this humble local spot! We had a great time dining in, but it should be noted that we arrived pretty early in the day, before 9am. There is a small parking lot and I could imagine it being more difficult finding a spot when the restaurant is more crowded.Seating is first come, first served and you seat yourselves. There's only a handful of tables and chairs so expect to wait if you arrive during peak dining hours. Once seated, someone from your party can order directly at the register. We ordered the classic breakfast plate which came with rice, eggs, and a protein of your choice -- this time we chose Portuguese sausage. We also got an Ube Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast with ice cream. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, which seemed like the average wait for the other parties dining in. Everything was very comforting and delicious! The Portuguese sausage was very savory and paired well with the rice and eggs. The Ube Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast is standout and perfectly sweet. Note that the toast comes with a mountain of whipped cream on top, so extra ice cream probably isn't needed. I won't complain though, it was a welcome addition to an already yummy treat!Do yourself a favor and eat at this local spot!

Little hole in the wall restaurant for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. There is often a wait/line, most people are there for takeout orders. The stuffed French toast is a perfect sweet addition to your meal, not overly heavy or too sweet. The fried rice ($2.95 upgrade) tastes better than it looks. Really liked the Korean braised short rib benny, some in the group preferred the corn beef hash benny. The Bulgogi (beef) w/ Kimchee Aioli was also really good and something different to try for breakfast. They offer hot coffee, cold brew coffee, and canned drinks. Lunch starts at 11am with plate lunch, sandwiches, and burgers!

We finally made it over to Pearl City to try this breakfast spot we've had on our list for awhile! I had the ube cheesecake stuffed French toast (absolutely amazing), while my wife went for the braised short rib loco moco. We also shared the Kalua poutine fries, and our son ordered the Kalua pork BLT. Unfortunately, we didn't get a bite of his sandwich--he devoured it! But the crispy tater tots that came with it were perfectly cooked.Everything we tried was delicious. The short ribs in the loco moco were cooked to perfection, though the dish leaned a bit on the salty side. The service was decent, and we were seated quickly despite the small space. A heads-up: it's probably best to avoid weekends, as I can imagine it gets packed.

Button Up Cafe is a small place in Pearl City. The cafe has a small parking lot and it seems to be a good place to get breakfast & lunch for takeout. They do have about 7 small tables to sit inside. No A/C, but plenty of fans to help keep you cool. My wife and I shared a Corned Beef Loco Moco. I asked for my eggs to be soft poached. Wow...so good! I appreciated that this was freshly made vs canned corned beef. Savory, smoky, and griddled to add that back. I am so glad I got this.Come check them out! Support local.
