(Photos are NOT edited/filtered in any way.) just before and after pics of the services that Brent and his team can deliver. Just wanted to say thank you and that the team at Brian's went beyond what was expected, and certainly over delivered with their craftsmanship! Just speechless when I received my reel. I came in the shop hoping to get my Newell C-440 serviced and a tiburon frame installed. The owner gave me very detailed feedback on what would need to be down and services that would be required and available. Literally within days I get a call to come pick up my reel and she was CHERRY!!! I highly recommend everyone to come see them and just talk even to get expert advice on more than just tackle gear. They truly are amazing and professional when it comes to product knowledge, care for you as customer, and PRIDE in the work that they do. Big Mahalo to Brent & Brian's fishing supply team!

I needed some lead weights. I have to rewire around 5 offices with new internet CAT-6 wires so the new wires need to be thrown above the ceiling tiles. The best way to do this is to attached lead fishing weights to strings that are tied to the wires, open up the ceiling tiles, and throw the weights across the ceiling.Fishing supply stores are not the easiest to find, especially if you are not a fisherman. Yelp came to the rescue and directed me to Brian's Fishing Supply Store.I knew where Brian's was located, but there is a sign which says the name of the store is Tropo. And there are colored neon signs that make the place appear from the outside as being a place which sells tropical fish for your home tanks. Huh?I cautiously walked in and was immediately transported to another realm. This was a fishing supply store after all, but in this maybe 600 square foot space packed with every item imaginable which would satisfy your fishing equipment wants, there were eight people at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning, a few sitting in chairs, looking like they were waiting for the movie to start.I found the lead weights very quickly and selected 5 two-ounce weights and approached the counter. I thought I would have to wait in line until all the other people got their specialty gear ordered and paid for, but the proprietor asked if I needed help finding something as he wound fishing line onto a new reel for one of the waiting customers. When I told him I found what I wanted, he rang up my purchase and I was outta there in less than three minutes.Recommended for those who need fishing gear !!

Hands down the best place to find the right gear at the right price. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable and I guarantee that you're going to leave knowing a little (or a lot depending on how long you have to talk story) more about Hawaiian-style fishing. What stands out to me about Brian's is that these guys will spend the time to discuss your target species, answer questions, and provide recommendations on rigging, lures, and equipment specific to what you're trying to catch. Don't waste your time and $ buying crap at the big box or interweb and instead support local specialized fishing stores like Brian's that 100% specialize in Hawaiian kine fishing.

Brian's is a little brick & mortar shop located in the heart of Honolulu, close to the ocean, easy to find, and friendly staff. But more importantly, knowledgeable people that can answer my questions honestly, not just trying to sell me something. When I ask them a question, they ask a whole bunch of questions back to narrow down the best recommendations of my needs. There hasn't been anything they recommended that wasn't what I was looking for. The only drawback is that I end up with way more stuff that I WANT rather than what I came to the store for that I NEED. So many goodies and cool gear, even JDM equipment from Japan as well as Korea.

Awesome service from the guy who helped me out today. Had a nice selection for what I was looking for at a good price. Employee was extremely knowledgeable and very willing to help me out since I didn't know exactly what I needed for menpachi. They also give free soft baits with $50 purchase. Will definitely be coming back.

I was looking for supplies for o'io fishing and Captain Chris Wright recommended Brian's. Went in and the store was well stocked with everything! Brent was very knowledgeable and set me up on the right tackle and flies. Talked story with him and learned the trick is "Do not look da o'io in the eye" or they will spook and split, lol. I will definitely be back for more tips to catch the elusive bonefish. Mahalo Brent!
