Glad there's this food truck in Halawa industrial area because there's not many food spots in this area! I ordered their "The Harry" which comes with their cheeseburger, fried noodles and mac salad. I swear this is a meal for 2 people! Comes with a lot of food! They take phone orders too!

Head to Halawa and grab some lunch at Bombuchaz. We ordered the hamburger steak plate and the #3 special with beef stew, chicken long rice, and pan laulau. Yummers! The stew uses short ribs which made it even better. The flavors was spot on. We went there at 10:30 so only had about 3 people in line. I've heard they sell out so get there early and get your grub on!

Finding pastele anything is often a feat. Here I found a really good pastele stew plate! My work friend with whom I was talking moments before I got here let me know I should try the pastele stew plate. He always comes here just to have this treat. It's in an unusual, out of the way place but he assured me I'd find this lunch wagon nearby right off the bat.TRUCK LOCATION & PARKING: Located in the Halawa industrial area in a place one would not think to look! At the second traffic light with DSL lab and Ani's Bakery on the mountain left, just go straight and follow the road until you spot the truck sitting on a very wide sidewalk landing on the right. Park on the ultra-wide sidewalk or perhaps briefly on the side of the road since it's just a two-lane street.Scrumptious home cooked local food! This lunch wagon has been here for 5 years and until I came by, they never had a business page so I made one haha! The industrial area it's chosen to park in has some very smart employees who've found this wagon and from the brief moments I was here, I can see have come to love their fare! While I took pics of menu, truck, & location, a bunch of ppl in vehicles of various sizes and colors came by to quickly order & quickly leave! (It's lunch time and everyone's in a mad yet safe harried rush! Lol)Check out the menu and tent board right of the truck and place your order when you're ready.I ordered the pastele stew in the regular size rather than mini and asked her to recommend mac salad or tossed veggies. The gal at the counter was super cheerful in the nicest, really brighten-your-day way, a welcome contrast to this rough and raw side of the road where there's tall weed trees left and right of the road. She recommended tossed bc it would go best with their stew. After trying it out, I'd have to agree! :) I paid $8.50 for my lunch and almost instantly, she handed me a bag with my plate lunch in it. She warned me to hold it with two hands and to be careful so it wouldn't spill over. Apparently there are two gals there: one to take orders; one to prep. Not only an efficient team but thoughtful, too!TAKE OUT ONLY: There's a bit of shade against the fence but there's really no comfy place to dine except maybe on the nicely cemented ground so I ate back at my office. No worries :)PASTELE STEW PLATE: What did I think? I think I swallowed it all up and forgot what I ate! :D Lol Taste-wise, what a welcome, thoroughly satisfying, delightful treat! My pastele stew came with two full scoops of rice & mac salad. I really enjoyed the entire plate. The individual tastes on the plate worked well together to accentuate the delicious thick tomatoey stew full of rich Spanish-rice flavor. The rice was perfectly al dente to mix in with the stew. More than a few olives dotted the stew. It was so satisfying that I wished there were more veggies and olives. There were a bunch of medium-sized pork cubes that were just sooooo tender flavorful & soft. A few cubes had a thin layer of fat that I removed were probably there for flavor. The mac salad was a very light rich mustardy yellow color, mildly creamy, & quite flavorful. For the price, it's a pretty good deal. Quantity-wise, I wished there was a little more stew sauce with a bit more veggies to match the two large scoops of rice. Or was my short-term memory in just too much delight?! I just wanted more..MORE! (Oh, why can't my office exist right next doooooor?! Hehe :P)They do offer other beef, chicken, pork lunch plates that I may venture a try next but now I know what it tastes like, I'm not sure I could give up the delicious taste of that pastele stew! I'd order pastele stew again and again in a heart beat. That's saying a lot coming from someone who usually stays away from beef pork and chicken! haha! :DIf you're in the area hankering for some good pastele stew, don't forget this place on your way into town or out to Ewa!Pastele stew is served every Thursday! :)

I've heard of this food truck previously but only got a chance to try it recently. Very easy to find - you can't miss it once you go thru the intersection and down the bend on the right side. You are greeted with great smiles as you walk up and then on to the great food.Definitely will be back to try other dishesThe panned Lau Lau is a must try!

On our way to the way back from thePepsi Cola plant to deliver uniforms my boss pulled over to Bombuchaz Lunchwagon. There was a line an many stopped by to get their lunch. My boss checked the menu to see if the pastele stew wasn't sold out.We both ordered it and I wanted to eat it right there but smoking and eating in the van wasn't allowed,so I had to wait till we got back to the plant.Them unload before we could eat,it was as almost good as my Portuguese auntie that makes and sells in Hilo. They also have local favorites like roast pork with gravy, hamburger steak, teri beef and the special plate is awesome. The servers are friendly, later I found out the young cute girl was the owners daughter, I could see where the daughter got her beautiful looks from.I don't know if they are still at Halawai,it is out of the way but all the truck drivers know about this place but if you can find this lunch wagon it will be worth it!

I've had a shop in halawa industrial for awhile now and there really is no place good to eat. Drove past a lunch wagon called bombuchaz and been going there ever since. The plates are huge and they are affordable. So anybody looking for lunch around the halawa area there is a lunch wagon. It's on halawa Valley road on the side of the street little further than hawaiian cement.
