Blue Ocean Breeze Surf School

We had a great surf lesson today! It was so fun and so successful. I think we will take the kids with us next week. The instructors were helpful and safe. The waves on the Ewa side of Ala Moana is nowhere near as crazy crowded as Waikiki. I have never caught so many waves lesson before. Also a great view of Diamondhead. I recommend! Price much better than Waikiki too

Coach Frank was able to get me on countless waves during my first time on a surfboard! During my lesson, I was able to stand for the overwhelming majority of the session, and caught SO MANY WAVES.He taught me the importance of body strength and mobility, then focused fundamentals of the surfboard and how to navigate it. Once we got into the water, he coached me through the waves and got me standing in less than 3 waves. As the session progressed, I got more confident and Coach Frank taught me how to stand up faster and even how to read the waves. Coach Frank is more than just a surf instructor. He understands the value of on the ground health and happiness. I really enjoyed his friendly demeanor and his teaching style. He even offered to help me find spots to surf and equipment for when I get back home.

Ivan is super cool and an excellent surf coach! He was great with my 10 year old. The entire experience was fun, easy and memorable! I highly recommend Blue Ocean Breeze Surf. Frank the owner runs the place and is also very cool.

Frank is the BEST! Very friendly and professional. My daughter and my son took their first surf lesson from him, and they both happy. Frank teach very well for beginners. I can see they way he explained and give instructions was very clear and easy to understand. I'm highly recommend Frank for surf lesson.

Coach Frank is an incredible instructor! Since moving to Hawaii, I have had at least 4 different surfing teachers, and he is the absolute best. I'm not JUST interested in having a one-time fun experience (which he provides), but I also want to get good enough to surf on my own.Coach Frank definitely prepares me for that. His knowledge of the ocean and its behavior is vast, and he teaches me about surfing, as well as other ocean sports and activities. He's had over a decade of coaching experience with all different types of people, and you can definitely tell - because when I have anxious moments on the water, he is so calming and helps me to get past my own nervous feelings. I am definitely not a risk-taker or thrill-seeker, so I'm really grateful to coach for making me feel more confident and stronger in my surfing abilities.I'm forever grateful to Coach Frank!

Frank is simply the best! He is Super attentive, friendly, and hilarious! He made our first time surfing so much fun, it was the highlight of our week long trip to Oahu. Thank you so much Blue Ocean Breeze!

Completed the 8 week intermediate surf program with Frank and loved it. I went from beginner renting long boards and mostly falling in the water to enjoying surfing on my own 8 ft foamie every day. Frank pushes you hard and gets you over the beginners slump. Highly recommended if you want to get into surfing as a regular thing instead of an occasional activity. Surfing almost every day now!

I took a semi-private lesson with Coach Frank and had an amazing time! A friend referred Blue Ocean Breeze after I shared I was looking for surfing classes. I quickly learned that they had a simple online booking process. I reached out via Facebook and was connected with Frank who was friendly and professional. We hopped on a quick call to learn about the different group and private lesson options, then paid online. Unfortunately, we ran into some flight delay issues and thanks to Frank's flexibility and understanding, we still made it happen!It was easy to find Frank on the day of the lesson at Ala Moana Park. I'm not the best swimmer out there but Coach Frank's positive energy and clear instructions made me feel extremely safe and comfortable before heading out into the water. We started with a ~10-15 minute warm-up and surfing basics on the beach. He provided constructive feedback and re-assured me by answering any questions I had.When we got into the water, Frank was extremely patient and encouraging which helped me gain confidence after catching a few baby waves. I will definitely take another lesson with Frank when I get the chance to visit Honolulu again. I highly recommend booking lessons with Frank!

Frank was a wonderful teacher. My daughter and I reserved a group lesson, which ended up being just the two of us. After a brief beach demo we paddled out and each caught and rode the first waves we attempted. Got up and rode them almost back to the beach! That's a testament to Frank's skill as a teacher- neither of us had surfed before. The lesson was a great success, though today we're both sore--it uses a lot of muscles I apparently do not use regularly! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
