My wife coordinated this outing for my family in honor of my birthday, and it didn't disappoint. Our boat with 6 people caught 30 amberjack and skipjack fish. Parking is available near the boat for a pay by hour cost using one of two apps. Their timeline for return was accurate, and we even got to a point of being out where we had enough and were ready to return a little early. Bathrooms are available in a nearby building with key from the boat, or on the boat itself. A majority of the people on the boat took motion sickness medicine prior to the trip to avoid any issue. It was consistent waves the whole trip with no stopping so be prepared. The boat has a covered area with table and seats, along with air conditioning and fans. We brought some snacks and a cooler with drinks and food that we put out on the table for all to consume as desired. The crew put the lines in the water for the large fish which we didn't catch any of. Apparently the reel spins when a fish is on the line and you jump on it to reel it in. I've never been sport fishing to know the feeling of reeling one in or seeing one reeled in. After some time waiting for something to hit and everyone getting tired, they put the smaller poles in the water and allowed people to hold them trolling. This is how we caught the fish we did catch that ranged in size from probably 12-20". They put up a little fight and we lost a few along the way that could've been much larger but we'll never know. Upon return, a neighbor boat gave us a 25 lb fish they caught since the crew was cleaning our catch. I don't eat fish but my wife is very happy with what we brought home. The crew was very helpful in trying to provide a pleasurable experience by helping with the poles, advising, and cleaning fish to take home. Overall a great experience and we would likely return hoping to catch something larger.

We had such a great time with Bob, Ray, and mark. It was my first time fishing but they made it pretty simple and made sure we were well taken care of. Bob was honest from the start and let us know he wouldn't take us out if the weather didn't get any better. Thankfully the weather cleared up for the day and we were able to make it out. Bob and Ray were super friendly and made everyone on the boat feel like family. We had a great time and look forward to doing this again on our next trip to Hawaii!

Great fishing experience with Captain Bob and crewSuper friendly team and great fishing experience We caught 3 mahi mahi and a bunch of smaller skipjack and yellow fin tuna despite it being later in the season Crew especially was diligent on giving proper instruction for the fighting chair which is important if we did hook up a huge marlin (which didn't happen...but hey that's fishing)Check out the crew for a good fishing trip!

I don't write many reviews and not sure why I didn't write one last time... However today was my second trip on the Blue Nun and after my first I ONLY recommend them to any family and friends looking to charter a boat to fish! Captain Bob and Ray are top notch people and top notch fisherman! Great, fun people that know how to teach newcomers and explain the ins and outs of everything. They sent us home with dinner for tonight and lunch on Sunday! We can't wait to come back and do it again! Thank you Captain Bob and Ray for showing us another amazing day!! See you next time!Joe

Short version: Awesome day on the water. Beautiful boat and a great crew. It would have been a wonderful day, even without a fish. Caught a very nice marlin that put on a great show and put up a great fight.Long version: Captain Bob and his mate Ray are a credit to the sportfishing industry. This is a great boat and these guys put a serious emphasis on customer service. My new bride and I took a 3/4 day exclusive charter. From the get-go these guys were super friendly and informative. I've caught a couple billfish before, but Ray's orientation was the first time I had been given a real lesson on proper big game technique. The lesson would definitely pay off!My girl started feeling a little queasy not far outside the harbor. It came and went, but she's a trooper and made the best of the day. The few times she got sick the crew was totally helpful and cordial. As we got further out it got a little choppy, but it's the ocean and it's going to swell as it pleases. It's little things that make an experience special: I've got a little bit of angling experience and I like to help around the boat. Without saying as much, Captain Bob and Ray picked up on this and very politely pointed out things I could do to assist. There were a lot of awesome photo opportunities, and the skipper did a great job helping us document our day. Ray took us down to the auction house with the fish we would eventually catch and we got a behind-the-scenes view you wont read about in any travel guide. Little things make a big difference. We had been out for a few hours and I was sitting somewhere in a corner just nodding off when the reel started screaming. Forgetting the native word they taught us (hanapa'a!) I screamed "FISH ON!" Ray points and there's a beautiful marlin launching itself out of the water. It leaps and dances for maybe 30 seconds, turns and starts peeling line. I sat down in the chair and tried to relax (unsuccessfully). He was maybe a 25 minutes fight. I probably should have taken him slower and patiently, but adrenaline is tough to resist. We got him up and in the boat, my first Blue Marlin, 150 pounds. As soon as this business was handled, Captain Bob was back on the cruise and itching to get lines back out without hesitation. These guys are pros. It would have been a beautiful day even without the fish. To add the biggest fish I've yet caught makes it a completely unforgettable experience. If I make it back to the island of Oahu I will also be back on this boat. Until then, thanks again!

Had a great day bottom fishing. My buddy caught 4 and I only caught 1 but it was still a great day on the water. The crew took great care of us. They are super helpful and feed us right when we got aboard. On the may back to port the deck hand even grilled up all of our fish to eat. Soo amazing the way he seasoned it. Great experience.

Did not catch anything:/Captain Bob and Andrew did anything and everything to try though! Made sure we were comfortable and tended to the sea sick with compassion. Had an amazingly relaxing and enjoyable time trying. We made sure to throw the guys a tip even though no fish. Love!It was a religious experience, "nun" the less;)

I called to schedule a shared charter for 1 person on a date in May. He took down my card information and personal info for the date that I would be in town. I asked him the details on how much fish I would be able to take home if I caught a fish. He does not tell me how much even though websites on other boats usually say 2-4 lbs that can be brought home. He proceeds to tell me that I should look into other boats just because I asked him that? Then he tells me that a solo shared is not worth it to him. So why did he take down my information then tell me that or why not specify that on your website? Don't waste your time. There are other boats willing to work with you and answer all your questions.

We chartered the Blue Nunn in 2020. neither of us had ever deep sea fished before and weren't familiar with the tackle. The deck hand was a homeless looking guy who criticized us all day long while only helping us catch a single blue marlin in 9 hours of fishing. The boat is old and disgusting, and I think the deck hand lived on it but dog hair all over the place inside. Go with a different boat
